I have to say the Frizz Ease line of products have been a dream for me!! I have only been using it for about a week now, but I get complimented all the time and I feel great after doing my hair!! It looks great after styling with less time spent on it than before! I used to spend a long time trying to tame my hair and now I just shampoo like normal, use the serum when its wet, style it, then rub some of the smoothing creme on and spray with frizz ease hairspray to lock in the AWESOME :) I spend WAY less time on my hair now and it looks WAY better and stays beautiful ALL day, no matter the weather!! I use the whole line though. I think its amazing and will continue to use it and recommend it! Like the other customer review, Id give it more stars if I could :)

The local barber recommended this product to me. I love it especially for my hairstyle. My wife uses it now so I've had to buy more. Spray it on after the shower and blow dry it. After apply the layrite pomade. Products work great together and my hair looks great! Highly recommended.

This product was in a similar bottle labeled Hawleywoods Grooming Solution. You will still find products misleading you. This is not the same formulation as Hawleywoods. It smells like rubbing alcohol instead of the original formula. Do not buy this crap if you want the original. I haven't been able to find it. Hawleywood had a falling out with Layrite and although they say the formulation is the same, THEY ARE LYING!

This is the best hair tool well for my hair, anyway. It heats up to just the right temperature and gives my limp hair a nice poof! This is my 4th brush of this type. I now keep one at home, one at my vacation home, and one for travel. I love the way the cord doesn't tangle and this brush type rolls right through my hair. Magnifique!

I read about this product in a magazine since i have long curly/frizzy hair-and wanted to try itafter seeing pictures with great results. My hairstlyist Used this on me and it smells like a chocolate martini. after flat ironing my hairit is what i call ASIAN STRAIGHT right out of the shower.

My hair dries in 1/4 of the time toobecause the hair follicles are full of this keratin productmy hair cannot curl or frizz. Its been about a month and its still working beautifully. I used to have to spend an hour straightening my hairand now i spend 3 min maxgoing over a few strands that have a bump in them fom a ponytail holder. My hair still still smells faintly of chocolate too.

Im never going to stop using this i swear. I went out in the rain yesterday without an umbrellaand i still looked flawless when i got to work. BEAT THAT!

I was very pleased with this purchase. There are a lot of fakes of this product running around so you do have to be careful who you buy from. Before I made the purchase, I wrote and asked how I would know it was authentic. They wrote back with a link which shows that they are an authorised distributor and when I received the product, they had enclosed a letter assuring the authenticity.

Anyway, that done. The product itself is fab and smells great! Well worth it and it will last you for ages as you only need to use it every once in a while. For me, I'd say every 6 to 8 weeks or so. I can now blow dry my hair without having to straighten it with straightening irons, so my hair is being kept more healthy.

One tip don't use too much or you will find it almost impossible to blow dry and seal in. Otherwise, fab product, would definitely recommend! Remember to use shampoo that is sulfate and sodium free or you will just end up stripping the product from your hair too soon.

Let me say I was very skeptical about this product. I have extremely thick/coarse dark brown (I'm' part Italian) mid back length (also a bit wavy) hair that is bleached platinum blond, I have a some damage from the bleaching as well. My first concern was whether this product was authentic or not. I found that this company (Keratin4u) is legit. They are listed as a distributor on the QOD Brazil website. My second concern was how well the product would work, and if it was really worth the $200.00 price tag. Let me tell you I just washed my hair after having the treatment sit on my hair for 3 days and it is amazing to say the least! To start from the beginning I would recommend doing plenty of research on how to apply the product properly before you even consider doing this on your own. I started off by shampooing with Neutrogena anti residue shampoo 2 times with no conditioner. Dried my hair very carefully, then used a color brush and bowl to apply the Keratin section by section. You do not need much product at all, I combed each section with a fine comb to remove excess product. I must say the only downside was the harsh fumes, my eyes and nose burned severely. I did the treatment in a bathroom with an open window and fan blowing, however the end results were worth the burning. You will want to make sure your hair is blown 100% dry after the keratin is applied. I used a Bespoke labs professional flat iron to finish out the hair mine only went up to 410 degrees rather than the 450 degrees some recommend. I didn't wash my hair for 3 full days after the treatment, also no pony tail holders etc. The 3 days were torture, my hair felt sticky and gross (to be expected though)I washed with sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, in the shower my hair felt very sleek and smooth when washing. Normally I have the type of hair you have to add a detangler to before you can even run your fingers through it. However this time I added nothing, my hair was knot free and sleek straight out of the shower. My hair generally takes about 40 minutes to blow dry this time only about 20. My hair dried as if I had just been straight from the salon, sleek, no breakage from the blow dryer, totally straight, and super soft. It used to take me at least 30 minutes just to flat iron my hair, now I didn't even need to use it. My hair looks amazing; it is straighter and sleeker than when I would do a full flat iron job. I will buy this product again and again! It is more than worth the money.

Honest reviews on Brazilian Keratin treatment Kerapremium Original BKT

Like other reviewers, I switched to this brand recently after having used QOD keratin products in the past. (I did have the treatment done once in a salon, but couldn't fathom paying $300 again for something that washed out after 2 or 3 months!) I think that this Kerapremium bottle is a good deal I used the QOD bottle for about 10 treatments and still had some remaining when it expired, and I expect that that will be the case with this bottle too.

I agree with an earlier reviewer that the instructions printed on the bottle are not very thorough. It's frustrating to send away for the bottle, wait until it arrives, get set up to do the treatment (and possibly recruit someone to help you apply it), and then read the label and realize that, actually, you don't know exactly how to go about the process. Based on what the company has said, I guess you are supposed to email them to get more detailed instructions, but that adds additional hassle and wait time. So since I have had consistently good results with at-home keratin treatments I'd like to share what I do, in detail. I should note that there was one time when I didn't have a good result with the QOD keratin treatment, and when I was puzzling over what had gone wrong it occurred to me that the bottle's contents may have expired; I checked the bottle's expiration date and, sure enough, it had. (Nothing bad happened to my hair as a result of using the expired product, but it just didn't produce the shiny hair I had anticipated.) This time I'll pay more attention and throw out the remainder after the expiration. You usually have 1-2 years before it expires.

Before I did my first treatment, I ordered a set of supplies from an Amazon dealer; the set is marketed as "The Invisibles" and it is an 8 piece set of products generally used for hair coloring: brushes of various sizes used to apply product, a plastic bowl-like container, etc. I also ordered plastic hairclips that I could use to hold my hair in the sections I need to create in my hair to apply the product; I didn't want to use my everyday hairclips because I didn't want them to get chemical-y. I also had a heat protective glove to use while flatironing my hair during the treatment. (When using the glove, I can still feel the heat through the glove, so I have no idea how anyone flatirons hair at 450 degrees without one.)

For the first couple of treatments, the process took about 2.5 hours, but I have since gotten it down to 2 or a little less. Weirdly, I find that the process is quicker and less of a hassle if I do the whole thing myself, rather than recruiting someone to help and having to explain it to them and show them how to do it. But this might be different if you can recruit someone who is already quite skilled in the application. One consistent problem for me has been creating enough ventilation in the room where I'll be doing my treatment. I have found that the best solution is to set up a fan pointing directly at my face as I work in front of the bathroom mirror, and position the fan so that it blows into a room with at least one window open (or toward your bathroom window if yours actually has one!! :) You will want to have the fan blowing throughout the entire application/blowdrying/flatironing process. I still have found that, even with my fan set-up, I need to plan not to be in the bathroom or my bedroom for about 20 minutes after the treatment, until those areas air out. I always feel guilty about exposing someone else to the heat and the annoyance and the chemicals involved in this process, which is another reason I prefer to do it myself!

To start, I wash my hair three times with a clarifying shampoo. The one that I use is QOD Original Cleanse, but when I finish that I will replace it with something else, probably the Kerapremium clarifying shampoo. I then towel-dry my hair thoroughly, then blowdry until it is almost entirely dry (Do so without using any heat protecting product. That is why I towel-dry as much as possible I don't want to expose naked hair to much heat). I then dump several tablespoons of the keratin product into the plastic bowl. For reference, my hair comes to mid-back. But I'm not too particular about the amount that I put in the bowl; if I don't have enough, I add more, and if I have any leftover, I put it back in the bottle at the end of the treatment (as long as nothing has come into contact with it to contaminate what's in the bowl, I think that should be fine).

Using the hair clips, I put my hair up into sections, leaving only the section of hair lying directly on the neck un-clipped (this will be the hair you start with for the application). I only use the large brush that came with the hair-coloring kit I ordered, although you might use the smaller one if you find the larger one unwieldy. I would prefer to wear gloves throughout this process because I want to minimize skin contact with the chemicals, but when I do it myself I don't wear them because I need to be able to feel which parts of the hair are wet with the product and which parts I still haven't gotten to yet. I slather on enough to coat the hair, but not enough that it looks/feels soaked. Instructions advise you to leave about 1/2 inch at the roots untouched with the chemicals. I don't slather it on my scalp, but I also do not leave an entire 1/2 inch uncovered. Note that the farther to the root that you go, the less volume your hair will have after you have washed out the treatment (this is a plus for me I want to minimize volume).

Once I have done my entire head (section by section), I run a comb through it to comb out excess product (I bought a separate comb for this, not my everyday comb/brush) and blowdry it. This is possibly the least pleasant part of the process. It always takes longer for it to dry than I've expected, and the fumes can get bad at this point, especially if ventilation is not ideal. You want to use as little product as possible during the application process so that the blowdrying does not take forever. It takes me about 20 minutes to blowdry it completely.

Once it has dried, I put the heat protective glove on my left hand so that I can use my right hand to flatiron (my heat protective glove came with a hair system I ordered previously, but you can pick one up at a store like Sally's or Ulta or order through Amazon). I bought a flatiron from Babyliss that heats to 450 degrees because my everyday flatiron does not heat up that high, and I wanted to be sure to follow that part of the instructions precisely. (I also didn't want to get the chemicals all over my everyday flatiron, so I was eager to buy a separate one for this process anyway.) I section my hair again using the clips, and start flatironing the hair directly on the neck. I make 7 passes over each section of hair (each section is about 1 inch wide), starting at the roots and working to the ends, not moving the iron too fast but also not lingering while pulling the flatiron through the hair. If the hair makes much of a hissing sound when you apply the heat, it means that the chemicals are not entirely dry, and you should finish blowdrying it completely before you continue to flatiron. Fumes may be significant during the flatironing part too, and you may see a kind of thin white smoke coming off your hair as the heat meets the chemicals on the hair. Be sure to get as close to the roots as you can without burning your scalp. Product slathered on hair that you don't wind up flatironing will be wasted because the product is heat activated.

After flatironing is complete, I wait for about 60 hours before washing my hair. During this time, I am always self conscious about the way my hair looks (matted and dull), but no one else seems to notice. (Still, I do the treatment on a weekend or during a holiday from school.) I plan not to exercise during the two and a half days that I have the treatment in, and I don't spend time in the sun so as not to sweat (water exposure will ruin the treatment). Although I don't put my hair in a ponytail or use hairclips during this time, I do tie a soft, silk scarf around my head when I need to have my hair out of my face, for instance when I am cleaning the house or washing my face. One time when I did the treatment, I realized I didn't have a scarf, so I used an old sweater that I no longer wear: I put it on my head and tied the arms loosely at the back of my head, and that worked as well or better than the scarf. (I tie it so that the bow/knot rests gently on top of the hair, not under the hair, because that would cause the hair to bump up over it and possibly leave a kink in your hair after the treatment has been washed out.) Note that you shouldn't tie your hair with anything for a couple of hours after applying the product because it will still be hot from the flatiron; you want it to be completely cool before tying anything around it, and when you do so, tie it LOOSELY. Also, I avoid showering during the two and a half days because a tiny bit of water seeping through a shower cap would ruin all of my hard work!

I do not enjoy the two "treatment days" as I call them and I am happy when I can finally wash the product out. When I do wash it out, I use my regular shampoo and conditioner, both of which must be salt and sulfate-free to maintain the treatment. I have used different products with good results Sojourn Moisturizing Shampoo/Conditioner, Pureology Nano Works shampoo/conditioner but right now I am using Pravana Perfection shampoo/conditioner and it is working well. You will likely be able to feel the results of the treatment even as you wash it out your hair will feel soft and sleek and smooth! It also should dry in a fraction of the time it did before. I read another reviewer's comment that her hair no longer holds a curl well after the treatment. I have not used a curling iron on mine so I can't speak to that, but when I do use a flatiron to smooth my hair (which only takes about 3 minutes now!), I curve the flatiron under slightly at the ends of the hair, and the hair does seem to hold that slight shape throughout the day.

I have sensitive skin and like to minimize skin contact with the chemicals to avoid the prospect of pimples forming where skin meets hair. As a result, I wash pillowcases/sheets/towels after completing the treatment.

I am happy with the results from this product and hope it is never discontinued. Like another reviewer said, it has changed my life (hair-wise). Before, my hair was poofy and I would have to spend a good deal of time flatironing it just to remove the poofiness. Every stylist I ever had said, "Wow, you have a lot of hair!" when I sat down in the styling chair. Now, the stylist only comments on how sleek, shiny, and healthy my hair looks. I do make sacrifices though: I don't go swimming (and if I do I wear a swimcap) and I don't go in the ocean, and if I am in a hot tub I tie my hair up so that it does not come into contact with the water. Also, as you read in my review, there are additional "hidden" expenses besides just the bottle of product: product-application products, glove, clips, a special flatiron, clarifying shampoo, salt and sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner, etc. All of the expenses do add up. Still, considering the results, for me, it's a small price to pay.

I first bought this product just to try it out since it was so expensive to get a keratin treatment in a salon. I have used this product for more then a year and a half now. I have my cousin do my treatment every 4 months and my hair looks GREAT. It really eliminates the frizz especially on humid and rainy days. Make sure to use the proper shampoo and coniditioner because it actually makes it last for about 4 months. Make sure not to saturate the hair all you need is a little bit. I have done it about 4 or 5 times already and it's only half way done. I would definitely recommend this and well worth it.

Finally.... I've found the best hair dryer! I have really thick hair with a wave to it and find that this hair dryer works best when I'm trying to straighten my hair out. The highest setting for heat is perfect and doesn't burn your hair. There's a small button -in just the right place -that will cool your hair down in an instant. So, you use the heat with a round brush to straighten and then ZAP it with the cool air and "waaaa-laaa" your hair is straight without the frizz that can come from some blow dryers that don't get quite as hot as you need. The handle is contoured for just the right comfortable grip without getting a cramp in your hand. Two attachements come with it but I haven't found a need for them yet.

You might find that the price is a bit steep for you but it's well worth the investment. I've had mine for awhile and it hasn't overheated yet. In any good salon this is the hair dryer of choice!

I am so pleased with my SuperSolano dryer that I will never purchase another big box store brand again. It is certainly worth the extra cost and seems much easier on my hair as the heat/air selections are greater than my former dryer. It may be a bit heavier than my old dryer but it does not bother me at all.

I'm a barber and I use this dryer almost daily. It's a great product with lots of power. It feels sturdy and well built. No problems with it yet.

Honest reviews on Supersolano Dryer 3 piece

I have fine hair but a lot of it and it holds water so it takes forever to dry. I have had my hair dried in salons with hairdryers that are so good it makes it unnecessary to use a flat iron. Products are also necessary but I use the same products and notice the hairdryer had made a difference. Unfortunately I didn't ask what kind it was at the time as I was satisfied enough with my drugstore hairdryer. Since its passing, I've been interested in finding something that will be light, quiet, cut drying time down and produce sleek shiny hair without burning it. Probably doesn't exist. So I decide the result and drying time is most important to me. This is my second Solano to try because I am pretty sure that's what was used the last time I was impressed by a hair dryer. It is not "light" but not bad. The sound is low not shrill and it is quiet, for a hairdryer. For me there can be one item within a brand that works well, even if everything else they make doesn't. That said, I'm tempted to try Sedu, Chi or Babyliss because the Solanos I've tried don't seem to provide results I've had before and I think it's because they don't get hot enough. However, at Ulta only the Chi seemed to get hotter and so hot it was scalding which might burn hair and scalp. The rep said the T3 worked but that was fifty more so it might have been an upsale. If you can't find a great hairdryer for under 150 there is something up. If they would list dryers by weight, air temperature and air force or make custom one since everyone's hair type is different that would be helpful. If anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated.

I purchased this hair dryer because of the brand...I have had good luck with Helen Of Troy curling Irons and This dryer was recommended also to me by the sales associate from Cosmoprof where I purchased it.

I am sorely disappointed that I wasted my money with this dryer and DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!

WHY?... because it did not dry the hair fast, the low high ION dial was a gimmick, it did not blow cold air just cooler air... it pulled client hair into the air in-take end of the dryer, it left the clients with frizzier hair than when they came in to the salon, and it shut itself off after 2 months use from overheating(I let it cool for 5 minutes before turning it back on like the instructions said to do if it shut down), then 1 week later it shut down completely and refused to turn back on!.

with a 30 day warranty, I could not send it back for a refund.

with a school grade I give this an F for F F FLUNK F F FAIL F F FORGET THIS DRYER

My old hair dryer finally quit working this month. I went to the local beauty supply store and found the Hot Shot Tools Professional Hair Dryer by Helen Of Troy. One of the salesgirls said she'd bought it for her mother, who loved it. The packaging touted several features that I wanted and the price was reasonable, so I bought it.

The dryer works well it does a fine job drying my hair. What I don't like is the button placement. The High-Off-Low button is in an awkward place for me. I have to fumble to access it with one hand, where my old dryer had this button positioned perfectly so I could change the button easily with the thumb of the same hand holding the dryer.

It comes with three different attachments: a finger diffuser, concentrator nozzle, and straightening pik attachment. I normally use the concentrator nozzle for a smoother blow-out, but I use the finger diffuser when I scrunch my hair for natural waves. I really have no need for the straightening pik, so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

The dryer is 1875 watts, which is the same as my old dryer. It boast ionic technology which it claims will help dry your hair faster. I have to say I really don't notice a difference in the drying time between this dryer and my old one.

I am not a stylist, so this dryer is used by only me once a day. Except for my issue with the buttons, it seems OK for home use. It does seem a little lightweight for use in a salon, perhaps, but I am no expert.

While this dryer works, I would not buy it again. I'll look more carefully at the button placement next time before I buy.

Overall I really like this conditioner. My hair is relaxed and dry and I was attracted to it because it is sulfate free. The first time I used the conditioner, I was planning on leaving it in for a while because I wanted to deep condition. However, after about 5 minutes my scalp started to burn from the mint, so I had to rinse it out. However, when I used it after that first time and left the conditioner in a for a few minutes it no longer burns. I am not sure if I am used to it or if I simply have been rinsing it out after just a short period of time. It makes my hair soft and full. I recommend it to anybody with dry hair. I love the smell but it just may not be the best product to deep condition with.

I use this the most in my conditioner rotation. I don't shampoo daily (but when I do, it's with the EverStrong Shampoo). For curly hair, I use conditioner daily and scrub it in as if it were shampoo. I have excellent results with this product, as does my husband (he also has curly hair and until now, complains that conditioning products cause his hair to go flat). No flatness with this product. Light. Easy. I use it as a leave-in, also. Can use it daily. Slightly pricey, but worth it, as it only takes a small amount. Smells great, too! Bonus!!!!!!!

L'Oreal -please do not take this product off the market. I absolutely love this product and it has completely transformed my dry, brittle hair into soft, silky, moisturized hair. My hair was damaged -chemically processed and flat ironed daily! Now when I comb my hair, I do not experience any breakage. My hair is super-moisturized and softer than I can describe. I can't stop touching my hair throughout the day because it feels so amazing. I am absolutely shocked that a hair product that I purchased in a grocery store was able to outperform my expensive, high-end salon hair products. I actually stopped using my $25 bottle of designer hair conditioner in favor of this product.

Honest reviews on L'oreal LOreal Hair Expertise LOreal Everstrong Hydrate Hair

I was a classic too-manly-for-hair-care male until I recently resolved (out of either vanity or self-respect, or maybe both) to start attending more carefully to my health/appearance/grooming. Hair is, of course, at the front line of that battle, so I interrogated some professional hair people and did some Internet browsing and learned that hair care is only partly a matter of what products you use. Healthy hair is also the result of things like drinking water and eating right and avoiding excessive sun or heat. Hair is, in fact, the most reliable indicator of whether a person is healthy. (See the Wikipedia page on "hair care," for starters.) And I learned that when it comes to hair products, I should look for ones that say "hydrating." (This as opposed to "moisturizing," which merely gives the appearance of hydration.) That's because hydrated hair is pretty much what healthy hair *is.*

I then spent a decent (if not ridiculous) amount of time browsing Amazon's hydrating hair products and reading the reviews, and then I experimented with 5 different, relatively inexpensive products.

The bottom line is that none of the 5 products are magical but I have noticed a mild to moderate improvement in shine, darkness, and thickness. (If you have recommendations for a near-magical product, I'm counting on you to let me know.) Given what I've seen from the different products, I will probably settle into a routine of using a small amount of the Frieda shampoo and conditioner daily, and then using an overnight treatment maybe once a month (but probably not the L'Oreal one).

That doesn't mean I recommend (or don't) any of these products for you. Another thing I learned while researching hair is that we are all unique little flowers with very different filaments on our noggins that respond differently to different things. So rather than recommending a particular product, I recommend that you do some trials and see what works for you.

Below is a detailed review of each product.

* L'Oreal EverStrong Conditioner (My rating: 3.2 stars) (Current price: $0.66/ounce) This seems to have the same effect as the Frieda conditioner (see below), except that it makes my hair even slightly more helmet-y. Also, it has an initially-strong scent that faintly lingers in my hair all day, even when I only use a dime-sized amount. It's a smell that I would describe as endurable but not pleasant.

* John Frieda Frizz-Ease Shampoo (4.3 stars) ($0.60/ounce) It works noticeably better than my old shampoo (Aussie Smooth). With this shampoo, my hair stays wet after a shower about 40% longer and it retains a subtle moisture all day. After a shower, when I comb my wet hair, I can hardly even feel it because there is so little resistance against the comb. In other words, my hair becomes a weird combination of wet and airy. The shampoo seems to work best when I leave it in for a minute or two before rinsing. I only need to use about a nickel-sized amount (I have medium-to-shaggy hair). It has a scent that is a little too much like a household cleaning product, but it's a faint smell and goes away after the shower.

* John Frieda Frizz-Ease Conditioner (3.8 stars) ($0.54/ounce) If the shampoo does most of the moisturizing "work," then the conditioner seems kind of like the sealant to lock it in and protect it all day, and to make your hair more "manageable." This conditioner does that job well enough but I only use a little bit of it because it makes my hair a little too helmet-y for my liking. Maybe you like that from a conditioner--I don't. I prefer that my hair move in the breeze. This conditioner would probably have a more desirable effect for people with long (at least shoulder-length) hair. As for the scent, I would describe it as "neutral."

* Paul Mitchell leave-in conditioner (3.0 stars) ($1.03/ounce) My second-biggest complaint with this product is that it is sort of annoying to apply after the shower, you have to dab a few blotches of it onto your damp hair and then brush it through. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't seem to be doing anything beyond what the other conditioners do. It works well enough and makes my hair nice and dark and helmet-y but so do the other conditioners. Plus, I don't think it's doing much to make my hair healthier because you only apply it to the end of the hair and not to the scalp. That means it also requires a good amount of the blue gel to work it through all of your hair.

* L'Oreal EverStrong Overnight Treatment (2.5 stars) ($1.76/ounce) I have only used it a few times but haven't noticed anything magical. You apply it to dry hair at night, work it through the ends, and then sleep with your hair in a mildly goopy state. I didn't check carefully, but I would be surprised if your hair doesn't leave a mark on your pillowcase. And it takes a lot of goop, even for a guy with reasonably short hair like me. Maybe it would be worth it if it gave my hair a brilliant luster or thickness, but it doesn't seem to do much at all, at least not above what the shampoo and conditioner are already doing. I am unlikely to get it again.

---

P.S. Many of these same products are probably available at your local Wal-Mart (or whatever), and probably for a 10-25% lower price.

P.P.S. A couple years ago, I experimented with using no hair products at all... for months. I had read some caveman-y theories about how hair products damage our hair because they crowd out the natural moisturizing chemicals and blah blah. All I can say is that it didn't work for me. It's true that my hair during those months was surprisingly less nappy and gross than I expected, and it's maybe even true that the artificial chemicals we put on our scalps have some serious, unwelcome consequences, but all I can say is that I much prefer how my hair looks and feels after it's been shampooed, to the point that I'm willing to take whatever risks those chemicals may pose.

I absolutely love this product! I had a sample of the shampoo, conditioner, and overnight repair treatment. I could not believe the results. I rushed out to buy it. I am African-American and had a problem with the texture of my hair. After perms, it would feel brittle and look dry. I don't use grease because it clogs the pores; however, when I use these products, my hair looks awesome. And the fragrance smells so good. I live by this product now. I plan to purchase my next set at Amazon because the savings increase with subscription. Good job Loreal. Finally, a company that caters to the African-American community as well!

I picked up this unit at a closeout store for half the price of on here. I needed a replacement for my Conair 079/R Cordkeeper 1875-Watt Midsize Hair Dryer when it met its untimely demise after 4 good years of service. This unit is very solid-feeling in my hand, but not so heavy that my arm hurts holding it up for a bit (I have thick hair). Another nice feature was that it came with the finger diffuser attachment and brush pictured, also with a concentrator nozzle for styling. It has 3 heat settings and 2 speed settings and a cold shot, all while running fairly quiet, making for a very nice daily-use dryer. Pros may want more, but this works for me!

Got this hairdryer a few days ago. I had to go with a lower watt dryer otherwise I'd be flipping breakers every 5 minutes. It's very pretty. I dig the red. It took a couple days to get used to holding it as it's a bit bulky. But to be fair my other one had a shorter nozzel and was lighter. The placement of the setting switches is not optimal. I can't easily switch from low to high and back to low without looking at what I'm doing. And the hot setting is not very hot. Which, I guess, my hair is thankful for. But boy does she have great blowing power! It's like being in a wind tunnel. My hair dries in half the time now which is great! I have used both attachments that came along with it too. I was afraid due to the force of the blowing it would blow those little gadgets right off and smack me upside the head but they stayed put. The blow dryer is a little louder than I am used to but not a big deal.

Overall, I am pleased with the product. I can overcome the negatives. Hope it lasts!

REVIEW EDITED SEPT 2013 = And there she blows...out! The heating element died already. I am very disappointed this hairdryer did not last as long as I expected it to. I understand....you get what you pay for....but it should have been longer than this. And I do not have long thick hair to where I am using and abusing the hairdryer. My hair is medium length and fine. It didn't have to work that hard! I'm disappointed today and back on Amazon to shop for yet another hairdryer.

Almost perfect. It's light, has the right temps and air volumes and most of.....it's QUIET. Compared to the inline fan hair dryers that the wife uses, this thing is at least half as loud. Save your ears and get one.

i have never had a ionic hairdryer...i have no more frizz after i blow my hair out. i have for years used conditioner thinking this would help with the frizzing but i had no conditioner and my hair was just like at the salon with no frizz.

Honest reviews on Elevate by Andis 30865 Professional Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic 1600

I needed a 1600W hair dryer to prevent my GFCI from tripping. There are NO dryers under 1800W at a retail store anywhere near me...I know, I've looked. I should have shopped Amazon first and saved some shoe leather. That being said, this hair dryer is exectly what I was looking for. I have short, chin-length hair that can really suffer in humidity, and I'm a believer in the benefits of tourmaline/ionic/ceramic to make my hair shiny and dry faster. This item absolutly fills the bill. It's very light weight, although it's a powerful full size hair dryer. I use the concentrator attachment everyday to finish off my style, and I also like the lift that the finger-like attachment gives. It took me a while to get the hang of this attachment, but now I like it better than then traditional diffuser for my curly/wavy hair. The controls are easy to use, one switch for temp, and one for air flow placed side-by-side, rather than one on top of the other. I haven't changed the settings by mistake, and resetting either the temp or air flow takes just the flip of a thumb. One of the best features?? I haven't tripped the GFCI since I've started using it. The reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because a "cool-shot" button/option would have really helped...I used that feature all the time on my 1875W hair dryer. I recommend this item, and would buy it again.

This dryer is attractive, appears well-made, and is fairly small; it would be a good dryer for those limited in space and for travel.

Pros: heat and speed options, moderately quiet motor.

Con: no cool shot button.

If you like this style of dryer, this is a good choice.

If you have curly hair, you probably are always looking for a product that will work. I have whole cabinets full of products that didn't do what I expected. So, when I saw this product finally available on Amazon, I wanted to spread the word about Ouidad products for us curly-haired people. This is the only, and I mean ONLY, gel that has ever done what it said it would..and then some. It made my hair look great with little (no) effort. I'm not afraid of rain, beach weather, or other crazy-hair-making weather anymore! It totally works and it's light, not crunchy. Other products are all good..you can't go wrong. But, if you buy only one, this is it. I use this, the deep treatment, and the clear pomade.

I have type 3b/3c hair with high porosity. It is fine, but I have a lot of it and it frizzes terribly without product. I live in a humid climate (DC) and I need a gel that can really keep my hair looking nice. I first started using this gel in 2000, when I grew out a relaxer. It worked well for me, but always mixed with another gel to weigh my hair down a bit (I like to reduce curl, not enhance). I stopped using Climate Control in 2006, when I decided to do a Japanese treatment to straighten my hair. Beginning in 2009, I grew out the TR and finally cut off all my relaxed hair last month. So I'm a long time user of Ouidad Climate Control who went back to it due to a return to curly hair.

Ouidad Climate Control helps my hair handle humidity. But I still get some frizz by the end of the day. I find that it isn't a good stand alone gel, as it doesn't give me the definition I like. I like to use it in conjunction with another gel so that I get well defined curls these days, it's LA Looks Sport Gel. So I will use a leave-in conditioner in the shower, seal with coconut, apply the Ouidad Climate Control and THEN apply the LA Looks for definition. When I use the Ouidad on its own, I tend to get stringlets and they get really crunchy. This way, I can use just enough gel for the humidity benefit but get my definition elsewhere.

Overall, this is a good gel. At least for me, it doesn't work on its own as a curl definer. Also, if you follow the Curly Girl method, be aware that there is a non-water soluble silicone towards the bottom of the ingredient list (dimethicone). I do follow Curly Girl, but I modify it by shampooing with a non-sulfate shampoo on occasion to avoide cone buildup. For those who are protein sensitive, this gel isn't for you either.

2013 UPDATE: After some time using the Curly Girl method (no sulfates, no silicones) I am back to using this product. Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition is no longer silicone free. Ever since then, the Curly Girl method has been a flop. I couldn't find another conditioner that gave me good results and I was struggling with frizz. After a lot of experimenting, I decided to give Ouidad Gels another look. I tried both the Climate Control and the Curl Quencher. Climate Control is a great gel for me. I find that 2 parts Climate Control and 1 part LA Looks Sports Gel is perfect for my tightly curled hair. It really eliminates frizz, isn't too crunchy, and gives me great curl formation. I also highly recommend the Ouidad Moisture Lock Leave-in Conditioner.

This gel is the only product that truely de-frizzes my hair and keeps my style there even in the hot and humid summer months. I can put this in my hair in the morning, then spend an entire day outside in 80+ degree and extremely humid weather and my curls stay perfectly defined and frizz free.

Believe me, I have searched and tested TONS of products, and NONE have come close to this!

Worth every penny!

Honest reviews on Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel

I too have been on a lifetime search for an effective hair gel. My hair is pretty curly kinda like Julianna Margulies from the ER TV series. The other gels I have tried before this one were either so light that they did not control the frizz or too heavy that they left my hair feeling sticky, gummy or stiff. I put this gel in my hair when it is pretty wet to set the curl and let it dry. It dries a bit crispy but then you use Ouidad's pomade to open up your hair to amazing soft, frizz free curls. Ouidad truly is the Queen of Curls and using this gel along with her whole regime makes my hair so beautiful, it is unrecognizable from before I used it.

Here's what you may not know, when placing an order w/Ouidad....

In order to purchase the kit that is advertised on TV, you must enroll

in their automatic delivery program....Yes, that means....you have to

buy the product, and authorize the Ouidad company to charge your credit

card, and automatically ship this product to you.

I called, and asked for clarification....did they really expect me to

enroll in an automatic shipment program for a product I have yet to try??

The customer service representative said, Yes. She also said that was the only

way to purchase the kit advertised on TV....

It seems to me, that in this day and age, with the economy being what it is,

perhaps Ouidad is more interested in lining her pockets, than to cater to

customers....how can you expect, in a struggling financial economy, for people

to try a product, and then if you are not satisfied, deal with the credit card

company to stop Ouidad from continually billing and shipping to you?? Is this

how a company should do business nowadays.

Beware if you purchase, I read other reviews where Ouidad representatives were

NOT helpful to customers who were not satisfied and had trouble getting the auto-

matic deliveries and charges stopped.

I find this to be a great styling tool. It leaves my hair smooth, bouncy and full of body. You must make sure to dry your hair first with a hairdryer until the hair is about 80% dry. Then finish up with the air brush.

The con of this air brush is the lack of quality. I have lost count of how many I have owned. They tend to last just a little longer than the one year warranty period. However, I have not been able to find another brand to replace it with.

If you turn this brush off in order to comb or brush your hair out, it will not turn on again until you let it cool. This can get annoying.

This is a great tool and I love using it. However, it does not last very long (about a year) and you have to buy a new one. The barrel with the brushes starts spinning around. It is not suppose to do that. Also, I have had some problems with over heating. Seems that when you use it and then shut it off you cannot turn it back on right away. You have to wait for it to cool off. I really wish they would fix these two problems. I like the tool otherwise.

Love this item, I am not coordinated enough to blow dry my hair and use a curling brush at the same time. With this product all you do is blow dry your hair with a regular blow dryer not quite dry and then use the hot hair brush.

Honest reviews on Helen of Troy 1573 Tangle Free Hot Air Brush, White, 1 1/2 Inches

The snap case near the cord at the end of the brush needs to be cleaned! Like many others, I've loved this product when it's working properly and not shutting off. I've purchased several of them, It always work great at first but after a couple of months of use it always start working intermittently, needing to "rest" for a while once it's turned off before it can be turned on again. My husband figured out the problem! There is a rounded case near the cord that can be snapped off. Inside the openings many dust balls had formed and collected. After cleaning out the dust balls and snapping the case back on, it works like new again! You may be able to twist it to snap off or you may need to insert something to snap it off, but it will snap back on. I hope this helps others who have have the same problem as seems to be case in other reviews. From now on, I'll be cleaning it out every month. I do wish the company would make a stronger motor with more power, but it's still great for finishing up styling my hair after a blow dryer has gotten my hair all or mostly dry.

This arrived broken the barrel never rotated. I used it a few times just as a dryer to curl my hair while it was just barely damp and it did not dry or help give my hair a bit of curl under or to flip it out. I have a short Boband my hair is thin so it was not a tall order. The dryer does not get hot enough it is the same as a very low

warm setting on your hair dryer.

Next time I will look for a metal type barrel and just forget about the rotating part since it seems no Company in the U.S has any that do the job well. If you're ever in Europe Braun makes the rotating type perfectly my friend has one there and I was addicted to using hers there it may be dual voltage. I never thought when I came home that I would not be able to find an equally good product.
