I am a AA woman with all natural 4a cottony hair. I stopped doing my hair at home about 10 yrs ago, when I was relaxed, so I rarely ever used a blow dryer and mind you the blow dryer I had was just to get by. Now that I am natural, I do 99% of my hair styling at home and needed something better.

My previous dryer (different brand) only had a concentrator attachment for blowing out my hair so I used it in conjunction with my Aveda denman brush. That was TORTURE! My arm would ache before I was even half way through which caused me to take 2 min breaks in between and during the process the brush handle would be come slippery due to my hair being wet or from the leave in conditioner which only added to the headache of blowing my hair out. It basically took me 20-30mins to blow dry 5" of hair :(

I used this blow dryer 2 weeks ago to blow out my hair using the comb attachment to do mini two strand twists. I swear it took me less than 10 mins to dry my hair. I was so happy and it was so EASY! The reviews are telling the truth that the combs DO FLEX unlike the previous model from decades ago, where the combs would break off jaggedly at the smallest hair knot. I always recommend and practice untangling the hair before blow drying, regardless of the attachment.

In summary: I HIGHLY recommend!!! :)

My Conair 1875 Yellowbird has worked for years, but I wanted to try something different and give it to my daughter. This dryer was light in weight and thorough in drying. The comb attachment didn't pop off or get hot like my Conair and the teeth on the comb didn't dig into my scalp when drying. Also, it didn't take as long to dry my hair which is medium in length and thickness. A good dryer for a modest price.

I'm a black woman with really thick corse hair. I've decided to go natural which I'm thinking about going back to relaxers. It takes me three hours to do my hair. But this blow dryer has definitely cut down the amount of time spent on my hair. The best thing about this blow dryer is that it comes with a comb. So, once my hair is dry it makes it easier to comb through. Don't get me wrong it's still nappy but definitely less painful when I'm combing through my hair. I hope this helps. Good product.

My daughter and I love our new dryer. The comb attachment comes off a little too easy but overall this has made hair day so much easier. The biggest perk for me is that if the comb ever breaks it will be cheaper and easier to replace then the slide on comb dryers.

I needed a blow dryer with a comb attachment in order to blow out my hair and this dryer is great for the price. My only complaint is that the comb attachment got soft and part of it bent from the heat almost as if it melting. I kept having to stop to let it cool of for a bit out of fear that it would melt. Previous comb attachments that I've used were made from a harder plastic. Even with the 'stop and go' technique I used, I was still able to dry my hair fairly quickly. I can see not being able to use the comb attachment for much longer b/c a few of the teeth of the comb are permanently bent. Overall it's a good dryer, easy to use, great heat settings, but the comb attachment isn't great.

Purchased for my college bound daughter, she has been extremely pleased with the dryer. She claims that it does dry her hair faster and with less frizz. The dryer has only been in use for one month but seems to be solid and dependable. The weight of the unit has not been an issue, as some have previously stated.

Sept 2010 Update This unit is still blowing and going. Used on a regular basis the dryer has performed wonderfully since purchasing it in August 2006. My daughter was so thrilled with her dryer that I purchased the same model for myself and it has been in use for over 2 years. If either died tomorrow, we would be hard pressed to replace it with a different model.

I have super thick hair that normally takes up to 20 minutes to dry. I can honestly say that I can now do it in under 10 minutes flat. This is one of the best hair dryers I have used and would recommend it with out hesitation.

I bought this in April 2006 (six years ago), and again just now. That's how long the last one lasted. It worked great, I never had any problems with it, I never hit a button by mistake, never caught my hair in the back like others, it's not as loud as others I have owned, the cord is longer than some, it has a nice attachment, good buttons to choose from, and a nice little rubber nub on each side so that it doesn't slide off the counter, too. After the last one died (stopped blowing heated air), I snipped off the cord and gave it to my son to play pretend with, and he spent the next 10 minutes pounding it on the floor like a hammer, with no damage to the body, if you're worried about dropping it. It's not too heavy, has a good-shaped grip, and it's just the right proportion to style with (not a short nozzle or weird handle that you have to compensate for). I had the option to buy another hair dryer, and went with the same one again, after going over many others that were more expensive or were different. This hair dryer works. So it's the one I bought. Now all I can hope for is that it lasts me another (almost) six years.

UPDATE: I thought it worth updating this review, as it has been nearly 5 years since I purchased two of these dryers, and they are still going strong with daily use! One of the things that I have come to really appreciate about this dryer is that the low fan setting truly is low. So many other dryers give you "high" and "higher" as choices. I don't want to achieve the "head out the car window look", I want just enough airflow to get the job done. Of course, there is a high setting if you do want more. The other noteworthy thing is that cleaning lint out of the dryer is so easy! The lint screen removes very easily and can be cleaned in seconds and replaced. This helps keep the unit working efficiently and adds to its life.

I bought this product because it was highly rated by Good Housekeeping as best lightweight dryer. It is lightweight and easy to handle. Dries fast, even on Low Heat. The fan on-off switch has the Off position in the middle of the rocker... wish it were the Down position. A bit confusing when you are not looking. Also, this would be a fantastic product if the very, very long cord were a retract. The long cord is a real asset.. no doubt about it and it doesn't tangle. I would certainly buy again.

I purchased this hair dryer for my wife who happens to be a professional hair stylist, and I would say that she is very selective (picky) about the products she uses. For her work, similar hair dryers sell for almost $200. Consequently, I thought this was a very good buy. At any rate, so far she loves this product. She uses it at home and has nothing but compliments about the dryer. She even suggested that we should buy one for each of our two daughters for Christmas. So far, a very happy customer!

Overall, this is a very nice hair dryer. It is lightweight, which is a big plus in my book. I gave only 4 stars for 2 issues: 1) noise, and 2) cold-shot button. This is not the noisiest hair dryer I've used, but I do wish it was a bit quieter. Not enough of an issue to make me sorry I bought it. I do really wish, however, that the cold-shot button could be set so you don't have to continually hold it down. My previous hair dryer allowed the button to be set and left, which I liked a lot as I use it frequently. Luckily, the overall lightness of the dryer allows me to hold the button down fairly comfortably.

I am so thrilled with this hair tool. I love it so much, I refer to it as my Magic Wand. It really can take my hair from blah to fabulous in as little as a few minutes and I can go from wet hair right from the shower to walking out the door styled and ready in about 10 minutes. These are fantastic for a variety of occasions! They're really fun for dances, parties, or raves. They clip into hair easily and stay well. A friend of mine had a rave themed birthday party for a friend and there were tons of glow sticks and glow jewelry that you see fairly often. These however are seen less frequently and so attract more attention.

The seller's description that the barrette is "thin" and can be worn "under the hair so that only the lights are visible" is a farce. While the barrette is small in shape, it has a significant thickness to it, and any attempt to hide it in medium thickness hair continually resulted in the barrette being clearly visible. Those with straight or fine hair will most certainly find the product disappointing. In addition, the barrette lights up very bright much, much brighter than the fiber optic strands, further detracting from the point of this item, which is the fiber optic strands. So now you have this bright flashing object blinking on your head like you're some kind of traffic light.

I bought several of these items as stocking stuffers. The first one out of the package needed fiddling with in order to get it to function at all. The design is such that the batteries are too loose in the barrette enclosure and thus they do not make good contact with the electrical contacts. A couple hours later, it once again stopped functioning, and I had to take the whole thing apart to adjust the contacts so that they would continuously transmit the batteries' electricity. In doing so, the tiny little tabs that hold the cover in place broke off. Yes, I was as careful and gentle as I could be, but the plastic tabs are so tiny, any kind of pressure will obviously cause them to break, which they did do.

I have not inquired as to the remainder of the ones I bought that I gave away to others' children, so I can't honestly say that EVERY one had the same design/manufacturing flaws.

At the end of the day, it's a cheap little gift, and as long as you don't have high expectations for it (or expect the description to be accurate), have the patience to fiddle with thing (and have some glue or tape on standby) it can be a fun while it lasts.

I really liked these in my hair. They lasted the whole night and looked pretty neat I think my boyfriend was jealous that they didn't have any for short boys hair! I was at a loss for how to turn them off until I realized that the back panel slides off and you can take out the batteries. AND even better to use these hair lights for my party and then get the BONUS of having 2 extra round batteries after to use for other things can never have enough of those batteries!

I have been finding little fiber-optic strands around my apartment though, which leads me to believe some of the 'hairs' fell out, but not enough to be noticeable on the barrette.

This Tresemme stuff seems so vitamin-enriched, it's super lightweight and makes my hair smooth and shiny, plus IT SMELLS AMAZING!!!! I want to wear it as perfume. LOL. The Chi Iron Guard doesn't smell good at all. Honestly this stuff hasn't only protected my hair from heat, but makes my hair look so much more healthy. I'm so happy I found this!

By the way, I have wavy, fine hair. Hair that curls/frizzes when exposed to humidity or wet. So, this definitely works on my type of hair.

This stuff is awesome...I first read about it on a makeup blog or something and tried it out...I use a blowdryer and straigtening iron almost daily, and I have blonde hair that is heavily bleached with highlights. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON EXPENSIVE SALON PRODUCTS you don't need them. Just follow the directions and you will see how awesome this is. It doesn't leave your hair feeling yucky at all. I have spent so much money on expesive hair products (I use Pureology shampoo and conditioner, that stuff is PRICEY) but I will not buy anything else after using this.

After reading the positive reviews here on Amazon, I decided this product was cheap enough to take the risk of purchasing. I use very expensive heat protecting oils, sprays, creams etc. such as Pureology, CHI, Morroccan Oil, Agadir Oil, Lanza and Kerastase.

With low expectations, I tried the Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray on my damp hair after washing and conditioning. I blew it dry and immediately noticed a much silkier texture to my hair. My ends looked very clean as well! I then sprayed the Tresemme on my dry hair prior to flat ironing and combed through. WOW! My hair is baby soft and very fine and this product did not weigh my hair down in any way whatsoever! That is huge for me! In fact, my hair had a beautiful bounce and shine to it after I finished flat ironing my wavy hair straight. Sometimes, after I flat iron my hair can look limp but not with the Tresemme.

I can't speak to this brand's other products but I must say given the fact that their spray is so fantastic I might have to try their line of shampoos and conditioners as well.

For the effectiveness of the product along with the extremely affordable price it is a must try! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Before using this product, I used to get my hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks b/c of split ends and damage from blow drying 3 times a week.
