I have arm pit length hair that is a mixture of natural (4A/B) from the roots to several inches down, and the rest down to the tips is straight from old relaxers. These curlformers get all of my hair uniformly smooth, shiny and bouncy. You couldn't tell that I have two different hair textures. The waves this product creates last for days. I love it because I no longer have to worry about the tangles I was getting in the natural-textured part of my hair after washing, can always get my hair styled and ready to go within 5 minutes in the mornings, and will never again have to wonder whether I'm going to have a bad hair day.

It took multiple tries to put in each of the first 4 curlers, but I quickly got the hang of it. By my third curlformer set (which is in my hair right now!), I am sliding these curlers on like a pro. I just wash my hair, spritz a small strand, twist the strand at the root, and the hook slides right over the hair and the hair glides down into the curlformer. Generally, I use 38 of the 40 curlformers that come in the package, but I'm thinking of ordering about 8 more because I want to make the sections even smaller.

Note: I put Krazy Glue all over the hook part as soon as I opened the package, because I'd heard horror stories from others about hooks breaking on first use. The Krazy Glue should help prevent breakage. This product does NOT come with instructions, so you should search YouTube for "curlformers" to see how other women are putting theirs in. If you need your curlformers in a hurry, keep in mind that this product will take several weeks to arrive, since it ships from China.

With a continued practice I am getting better with each set and am conquering the learning curve, which is a bit steep. I watched quite a few Youtube tutorials for pointers, which is helpful, but actual practice on your own head, is how you learn what works for you. I am Caucasian with a lot of medium weight hair that is naturally wavy and layered -length is roughly 2 inches below my shoulders. I believe that this set of 40 is equal to the brand name of Extra Long and Wide set (NOT the Extra Long Extra Wide, which I would have preferred, but I make do by using slightly thicker sections of hair in each curler), sold by Sally's and also here. Don't spend 70+ for the CurlFormers Salon kit this set is equal to that one for less than 20. I don't sleep in them, too uncomfortable. I spritz each section of my dry hair with a dilute mix of Infusium and water, or use on freshly washed, slightly damp hair, for about 4hrs. If I'm in a hurry I speed up the process a bit with a soft bonnet attachment to my hand held dryer. I am pleased with the resulting long lasting, shiny curls and the compliments :-) well worth the effort and investment. These are sturdy curlers that will last a long time. Not so sure about the hook....UPDATE _ I was right about the hook flimsy worth it to invest in 1 or 2 brand name CurlFormers hooks.

**Of note they had a weird chemical odor that lingered for a few days, even after a soak in a strong Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap bath. Be wise and air them out or bathe them before 1st use. I have no idea what residue was on them.**

This was is a really good product. I thought since they were an off brand that the quality wouldn't be there. The curl formers were made very well and created smooth curls in my 4B,C natural hair. I have long, thick hair and I used as many as possible and still have about 8 extras in the package. I was afraid I would run out formers before completing. After working with these formers for a few minutes it became very easy and fast to put in and take out. My hair wasn't fully dry so I ended up sleeping in them. It wasn't as bad as the other reviewers have reported. I would sleep in the again. I hope this helps.

When I first saw this model I was excited about the practicality of it's wall mount design, and the sleek styling it offered. It's 1600 watts supplied ample drying power, and the unit even has the ability to be shut off from the handset... a feature I am very fond of! The problem; they don't last! My first one lasted about 9 months and then began to continually overheat and shut off several times during my styling process. Blowing into the back got old pretty quick, and in the hope that I just got that one lemon, I decided to order another. I've owed my present unit for not quite a year now, and a few days ago I went to turn it on, and it just wouldn't. Terminal. I find myself again in need of a new wall mounted hair dryer, dreading removing this one and remounting the next. After seeing one of these at a motel, decided we needed a wall mounted hair dryer. For our small bathroom, it is very convient and easy to use. Mounting was simple, all hardware provided.

We liked the wall mount as it saves time not having to take a dryer out of the drawer, then out of a case and plug it in. While not as powerful as the older dryer, the time saved just taking it off the wall base and turn it on makes up for it. That's all. Take it off, turn it all and you are receiving a blast of hot air.

Another feature is that it comes with a night light that does go off when the bathroom light goes on. Would recommend this highly.

This is the second time I've bought this model/unit. The first one lasted over 4 years, and has seen extensive use. I stopped using the first unit when it made grating noises on high. There was never a noise on low. Dryer functionality was never compromised, but I felt a new one was the prudent course of action, and retire the old one. I would highly recommend this model. It is easy to install, convenient to use, and the nightlight is a bonus, expecially if you are prone to make nocturnal visits to bathroom in the middle of the night. It puts out very good heat, and high an low are different enough in velocity/heat to enable one to make a choice for different situations. A fine product.

I have owned three of these wall-mounted hair dryers because they perform well and look good. The main problem I have had on EVERY one is that the small plastic side pieces that hold the dryer into the wall mount will eventually crack and break off. This will cause the dryer to no longer securely attach to the wall unit. This was mentioned by other reviewers as well, so it is definitely a design flaw. Otherwise, it is a good little appliance.

I purchased two of these dryers. One dryer glowed red hot after 8 months. I threw it out. I purchased another one and the plastic tabs that hold the dryer on the base broke. Customer service was horrible!!! They practically accused me of breaking it myself. The representative said that she owned one and my problem never happened to her. Anyway, after calling back I spoke with another woman who said to mail the dryer at my expense($9.00) and they would send me another dryer. Well I received the dryer yesterday, plugged it in and the plug popped and blew the circuit in the bathroom. I am almost certain they sent a refurbished piece of junk!!! Buyer beware!

phenomenal ! all of my clients noticed such a great difference in how their hair feels when they leave the salon. Before i used the Chi Nano blow dryer and it was just way too hot it would burn my brushes and the the hair itself was so hot i would have to wait and let it cool down before i could touch it. the bio ionic brand gets two thumbs up and then some!

UPDATE: So i loved this dryer so much! i had dropped it a couple of times when the cord got rapped up on my station. This may have contributed to its blowing up. I bought this b/c I as looking for a quiet hairdryer that would not make my ears ring when I shut it off. My hairdresser recommended this one. Not only is it super quiet my ears don't ring and it doesn't wake up everyone in the house the Bio Ionic gives my hair super shine and leave it soft, not flyaway. This is important b/c I have fine, limp hair and if it is too soft, I can't style it but this is just the right softness that gave me lots of shine and bounce, but enough body to style my hair nicely. This is my second FHI blower. The first one worked well for approximately 10 years until it started sparking inside from an apparent short. This one is a more powerful and faster blower, drying my hair in about 5-8 minutes total. My hair is a little longer than shoulder length and is very fine with waves. This blower is equipped with a cool button which I use to finish when drying my hair. The settings are the same as my old dryer with two settings for heat and another two settings for speed! I also love the white color a lot!! I would recommend purchasing this blower for your home as well as your salon! It is professional quality and a very durable product! Enjoy!

I've traditionally purchased Conair brand hair dryers (most recently, the Conair Eco Hair Dryer, which no longer appears to be available). I needed to purchase a new one quickly, saw this one in a local store, and picked it up.

This dryer has several very nice features. First, it has three HEAT settings (hot, warm, cool) PLUS two STRENGTH settings (low and high). In addition, you have the option of boost the air flow with the "turbo" button and also using the "cool shot" button to set your style. I have found that what works best for me is to mostly dry my hair on the high heat-high power setting, then go down to the low power for a minute or two of styling. Using this method, I am able to complete my overall drying time significantly more quickly than with my old hair dryer. This dryer's nozzle is a bit longer than that of my old dryer, meaning that I bumped my head the first few times I used it, but I quickly got used to this. For a larger dryer, I find it to be relatively lightweight and relatively quiet as well.

Another feature of this dryer is the removable back to allow you to clean the lint screen; although I was attracted to this concept, I am unable to get the back off! Perhaps we just have a dud, but it simply does not move. Also, I should mention that the attachment is HUGE. I hadn't really planned on using it anyway, but when I did try to snap it on to the dryer, I could not get it on easily.

Overall, I have have been quite happy with this hair dryer--I just wish the back would come off. My final rating is 4 1/2 stars.

Edited 4/1/13: Good news--I was able to get the back off this morning! It seems like it just suddenly came unstuck when I tried it again (after many tries). I was able to clean the filter and put the back back on, and now it comes off easily with a slight turn clockwise. Still very happy with this hair dryer!

Returned this as the hot was lukewarm at best. I then bought a Conair Infinit Pro at a local store which seems much better heat wise.

"I bought this hair dryer locally after 2 strikeouts on other dryers. First I had purchased the Revlon Matte Chrome Full-Size Turbo Hair Dryer RV473V1 on Amazon, but sent it back as it only got lukewarm. Then I bought a Conair Infiniti which I also returned because even on low the intensity was so strong my shoulder length hair kept getting all snarled and knotted. I figured it was because the opening of the nozzle was too big, so I set out to find one that was narrower. This dryer works perfectly. Doesn't get too hot, has 3 temps and 2 speeds and a cool blast if you need it. Good attachments, lightweight, not really loud, removable filter. Ionic/ceramic. The color is not my favorite, but what matters is it works."

This conditioner is one of the best treatments that I've tried! (and I have tried many) I have 4a/4b hair and it is very dry, frizzy and tangles easily. After just one use of this treatment my hair is more moisterized and "tamed". The product is not too thin or thick. It smells a bit strange but you will get use to it. A little goes a long way. I have used it several times on my thick, shoulder length natural hair and I have plenty left for a few more treatments.

First of all let me say that my hairdryer is 2.25 inches across and this fit snugly after I made some adjustments. There are fins on the interior diameter of the diffuser that I had to cut off to get it to fit my hairdryer. The fins were probably another quarter inch wide so it probably fits 2 inches to 2.25 inches. Once it was stretched on there it stayed on with no problem and was easy to remove for storage afterwards. The soft body and ability to collapse the diffuser is a really great space saver. I can easily cram it in the drawer with my hairdryers and curling irons, etc.

Also I was skeptical when I opened the box and saw the short fingers on the minimal looking diffuser, but it worked just like my old one used to that had longer fingers and a hard plastic shell.

I have bi-textural hair, meaning it can go straight or curly, but to achieve either it needs help.The natural state of my hair is kind of wavy and frizzy. I have no idea what this diffuser will do for others, but chances are if you have used a regular diffuser before you will be able to get the same results with this one.

The only thing I don't like is that it cost $17.00. For $2.00 more I could have just bought a new hair dryer that comes with a diffuser. But since I really like my current hair dryer and since this diffuser is collapsable I decided to give it a try. Glad I did, but for the price I paid I hope it lasts a long time!

When my old dryer died, and was replaced with a new one with a ceramic heater and grill, the diffuser made by the same manufacturer effectively prevented it from drying my hair. This diffuser appeared to eliminate all the shortcomings of the other one, so I decided to order it. It's perfect! It does not obstruct airflow, but even my superfine hair doesn't blow around because the posts hold it in the bowl, and the infra-red heat is unobstructed. My arm doesn't feel like it's going to fall off, and my hair is dry. What a concept! It's also a pretty colour, extremely lightweight, and folds down flat.

Received this as a gift in 2001 from a friend who was a hairstylist and it finally died. I have dropped it many times and prior to death something inside began to rattle, now it cycles between hot and cold air and has a rather distressing smell. Who knows how long it would have lasted if I hadn't been so careless!

After endless internet searching on hairdryer advancements and reading many conflicting reviews I finally decided "why not just buy the same one again? It always did a great job" So, I'm back for round 2, we'll see how long it lasts if I don't drop it this time. Oh who am I kidding, I'm not that coordinated.

Certainly not the lightest on the market but powerful with an extra long heavy duty cord. I was able to easily tame my fine wavy hair into smooth and bouncy styles. I have a CHI Handshot for travel and this is about 15% more powerful (and 1/4 the price).

A++ would buy again.

Had to come back and do a review. I purchased some very expensive human hair and less than 3 weeks later it was a tangled dry wreck even after washing it thoroughly and using special conditioners. i did some research and bought this product. I ordered it a day ago and received it today; I put it on in sections (my weave is sewn in) and it restored it immediately almost just as smooth and manageable as the day I purchased it. Don't get me wrong I still need to let the beauty outlet know that this was not a good batch of hair but by the same token I'm glad I no longer look like it wasn't. Excellent stuff. It seems to work better than the spray version for some reason, although I thought the ingredients were the same. Makes hair silky without weighing it down. It is the best product I've found so far for my long, fine hair.

I was considering getting hair extensions done, but I have super curly hair and was advised against the more "permenant' hair extensions by my stylist. She recommended I get the Hairdo clip-in instead so i would not damage my hair nor waste money on something that only last at most for 6 months before it has to be redone.

I was a little bit uneasy at first. I was afraid it would look like a fake plastic babie doll wig stuffed underneath my real hair. I could not be more wrong!! The texture of the synthetic piece is actually very very soft and really resembles natural hair. I had my stylist straighten my hair and then put on the extension by myself. It blended in beautifully. The other thing i was nervous about was the extension staying in place. The clips are very secure and do not seem to cause any damage or tangles. The piece comes out very easily with out ripping out your real hair.

I agree with the above user; i would only use this product for special occasions due to the fact the texture of it is really delicate. I have only had the product for a few days so not sure how much wear and tear it will hold up to if left in. I am a bit afraid of it losing the curl. I will update further on the durablity.

Overall excellent product, easy to use, with excellent results.

These hair extenstions are good quality and a good price. I have discovered they are quite uncomfortable if I am dancing and quite difficult to match to your hair color if you don't have hair swatches I finally borrowed a color-match bundle from a friend before discovering that dark auburn is the best match, and I would recommend knowing which of the colors of any brand you are buying matches you before purchasing online. Don't assume that if auburn works with one brand it will be the same with all brands!

I've bought these extensions several times -the 23" wavy -and they look fabulous. No one, and I mean NO ONE has ever figured out that they're extensions. Even my husband had no idea until I told him. They mix with my hair beautifully and blend so that the final effect is simply sexy, full, swingy loose curls. I do strongly suggest you find a swatch somewhere (I just went to Ulta) to make sure you pick the right color. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because it does eventually tangle and lose it's shine. There is no saving it at that point...I have not had success with washing, etc. However, it costs less than others and works so well it's worth it. My husband drools, women ask for my secret, and I feel like a princess! Super fun. Give it a try.

I love this product! On a hair extension website this product goes for $250, and I am not that committed to my extensions. For $50 this product is great! All of my friends are raving about it and it looks so real. I've read many reviews that the headpiece is too big, it's not for me and I think it's just how you place it on your head. Just be sure to buy the synthetic hair product to go with it. I didn't and it got frizzy and I ended up using spray in conditioner at least twice a day.

I love Jessica Simpson hair! :) The curls are wonderful and they stay in place all day. Its easy to follow bc i have very thin hair and this makes my hair look so full.
