I received this flat iron as a gift from my best friend and I'm in love with it. I've had a flat iron a few years back, though it did the job, it left my hair feeling thicker and damaged. With this flat iron, my hair feels smooth and soft; it felt as if I hadn't even used the iron on it!

My hair can be considered thin; I'm Chinese, and Chinese girls have somewhat fine to thin hair. So, when I use this, I don't use the maximum heat level. It doesn't say the exact temperature of the heat because it's like one of those knobs where it just shows the lowest and the highest. My setting is around the middle, so the temperature should be around 250degrees; highest is 450 and lowest is 140. I tried using higher temperature but I don't like the feeling of my hair super hot.

Also, I use this to dry my hair in the middle of the night. Sometimes when I get home late and shower really late, I use this instead of a hair dryer to dry my hair; because hair dryers are loud and this is quiet. Even though I've used this on damp hair, my hair wasn't fried to a crisp. I set the temperature slightly less than the middle, so it was about 1/4th from 140degrees. Another reason that I love this flat iron.

Though there are a few Pro's about this flat iron, there are a few Con's as well.

Pros:

Quick heat up; takes about 30 seconds to heat up

Light indicator on the side

Smooth and easy to glide through hair

Long power cord

Swivel cord; makes it less likely to tangle up & won't rip if you wrap the cord around the iron

Leaves hair soft and smooth

Adds a bit of shine to my hair (personally it did)

Cons:

Tugs my hair a bit at the ends

Hard to curl hair with

The end of the iron (where the swivel cord is) can clip onto your skin (I've done that...it hurts a lot)

Back of the iron (where the zebra patterns are) gets heated

Takes long to cool off

I bought my Fahrenheit Titanium at TJMaxx for $30. I have very naturally curly crazy frizzy hair I was very skeptical because I have never spent so little on an Iron before. I had my CHI for 8 years and it worked great, I loved it, then the cord broke and I needed a new iron fast. I did a little research and decided I wanted a Titanium iron but couldn't afford a Babyliss (which is the best) so I picked this one up. I went straight to my friend's house and plugged in her brand new CHI ultra and my new Fahrenheit. My Fahrenheit heated up faster than the CHI. We then decided to do a one pass test with each iron. The CHI did the job but could use a couple more passes, but my Fahrenheit sealed the deal with one pass and left it softer and more shinny that the CHI. I like that you can change the heat setting and the non-slip grip will help me from dropping it. I also like that it has a small plug so I can have two styling tools plugged in at one time. BUY THIS FLAT IRON.... It's worth it!!!!!

Im not gonna lie I have only used it once, but being from a Nigerian/Caribbean background my hair is VERY kinky, and pretty long as well! Someone recently bought me this straightener as a graduation gift, and I used it on MEDIUM setting and was able to straighten my hair in a matter of 30-40 minutes. Even at the hair salon it takes them an hour and a half just to get it looking this way. It bounces and is extremely silky, and no one would ever believe I have kinky hair! Its insane! I usually buy those 15 dollar Conair ones but you definitely get what you pay for. I am so happy with my Zebra flat iron! [=

After first use, the plates fell out. Should have known better and returned it, but didn't want the hassle. So now the plate cracked and the crap company (Cortex USA)says I have to pay $25 for shipping to replace a defective product!! And then they are cocky about it! Buy something else from another company and save yourself the hassle!

I have very fine, medium-thick hair that's wavy and all my life I have been struggling to get it to stay straight without frizzies. My hair is straight after blow drying and using a curling iron to smooth it out, but 20 minutes later my hair doesn't look as smooth anymore. I'd never tried a flat iron before but thought that since I was essentially using a large curling iron to smooth it down in the same manner, maybe a flat iron would be the way to go. Since I'd never had one before I came here and did some extensive research into what type to get. I knew that they could be very expensive and was willing to pay if it was worth it, but luckily came across this item. It was so cheap that I figured if it didn't work well, so be it, I wouldn't be broke because of it and I'd just go buy another. Well, there was no need to worry because this thing works great. My hair has never looked this good in my life. The first time I used it I went out and everyone was asking me, what did you do to your hair, it looks great. Even on a day when it's raining my hair stays straight. It used to be that even a hint of rain or humidity and my hair would start to fuzz up, but no more. And I'm finally getting used to it, where it was taking me what seemed forever to straighten all my hair I now have down to a science and it takes just minutes to do. If you're new to flat irons and thinking of getting one of those ultra expensive models, do yourself a favor and try this one first, you won't be sorry and you'll have saved yourself a ton of money. I hate how a lot of reviews on amazon just say I like this or dislike it and not tell much about the features of the product. I will try my best to do that in detail. Basically this was an upgrade from my old flat iron that was also a cheap brand I purchased at Walmart a few years back. It was a vidal sasson and was about 15 bucks give or take and it was 2 inch wide and had two settings on and off. This flat iron is head over heals better than my old one. One thing having the 1" plates make it much easier to use than 2" plates and you can get done in the same amount of time as if you were using a big one. I actually get my hair done faster using this but that has more to do with the heat I think than the size of the plates. On the cover when you get it it says it has 20 different heat settings. I guess you could say it does but its really kind of a stretch to be able to put it on the packaging and make it sound good. The way you change heat settings is with a wheel that goes from 1 to 20 if 5x increments. If it was digital and you could stop at each number and have it heat up accordingly I would say that is 20 heat settings. It is much less precise when you use a wheel and there is no marker to line the numbers up with. Even so the fact you can make it different temperatures does help. I have used it on 15 and 20 and that works well for my thick wavy hair. One thing that a lot of cheap flat irons have is a little piece of plastic right at the base of the plates to keep them from closing together to much. The problem with that is it catches and pulls out hair. This like a lot of expensive flat irons does not have that so I haven't been pulling any hair when I use this like I did with my old one. Another nice features is it has these rubber or silicone pads at the tip so you can hold on to it for a better grip without burning your fingers. The power cord connected to the back is also on a swivel so it does not twist and get all tangled like a lot of irons and hair driers tend to do. Someone on another review said that the green light never stops blinking. There is a red light that stays on when you turn it on and a green that is suppose to turn off after it finishes heating. I put a stop watch next to it and turned it on 20. After 22 min it was still blinking so I don't think that will go off. Im just going to say if you want this to get as hot as it can it will take more than 30 seconds but it works. This leaves my hair as straight as it does when I use really expensive flat irons. It doesn't make my hair frizzy even at the tip which my last iron did. I use a heat protective spray and let it dry before I use this and I have had no problems. My hair will stay straight after using this until I wash it even with a lot of combing, heavy wind, and humidity. Once It actually heats up it doesn't takes me about 1/4 the time it took to do the same thing with my old one. It wills straighten hair with one pull through the first time but I usually pull my hair a few times through it once to straighten and a second or third time to add direction to it. I would recommend anyone try this out before you spend a fortune on a more expensive brand. It is really amazing that you can get one like this for such a low price.

I was searching for a cheap flat iron to store at my boyfriend's house so that I would not have to transport my Solia 1 1/4'' Ceramic Tourmaline back and forth each weekend. I wanted a product that looked similar to my Solia since I was already accustomed to using it. I found this one and purchased it due to high reviews. It arrived the next day (bonus points), even though I received free shipping. At a price a little over $17, this item met all my expectations. Some reviewers on other sites have stated that this Andis is just as good if not better than a $100+ CHI, but I highly doubt that is so. When I opened the product from its plastic case, I could tell right away that the quality was not comparable to my Solia which was ~$85. So if you are able to spend the extra dollars, definitely go for a higher end iron, as it is much worth its price. Anyhoos, as for this specific product, it is able to go up to 375 degrees (as stated on its packaging). However, the heat dial on the iron is not in units of degrees, rather it is on some sort of scale from 0-20. First I set the dial to 15, but felt the heat radiating from it from a foot away, so I truned the dial down to 10. It heated up in about a minute. I have found that I could get my hair straight on the first go if I just went slowly with a small section of hair at a time. I had permed my hair into loose waves last Decemeber, and now that it's grown out a bit, I have found the curls to look a bit awkward and prefer to straighten it when I have the time. For reference, I have thick, Asian hair that is naturally pretty straight (but now chemically permed). I was able to straighten my hair in less than 10 minutes, taking care to straighten the bottom, middle, and top portions separately. I used VO5 Heat Defense spray to protect my hair and let it dry prior to ironing. However, I did not feel that my hair was as smooth or as shiny as when I used my Solia. A couple times while I was ironing with the Andis, I could feel the plates catching a couple hairs and pulling them out (ouch). While this product is a good purchase for $17, I am glad that I will only be using this only the weekends and not everyday.

It amazes me how much better this flat iron performs than those $100 salon irons. No one should buy a flat iron that doesn't have a temperature control. People with thin hair don't need the kind of heat that people with coarse or really curly hair need. You use too high of a temp, and you're costing yourself split ends, which is extra money on hair treatments and haircuts. This iron has that temp adjustment. Not only that, but it has a little clasp near the cord that will hold it closed during storage something my Revlon iron never had.

In my experience so far, it heats up quickly and the temp remains consistent. An added bonus is the little green light that lets you know when it's reached proper temp. Note, though, that it does not heat up in 30 seconds as claimed. It may heat up to a heat setting of 2 or 3 in that time, but I use a heat setting of 10 for my hair, and it take about a minute and a half. (Still lightening quick IMO.)

I paid $14 for this, and it would be a good deal at twice the price.

This product claims to make your curls last and it did not do what it was supposed to for me. It took me forever to apply it in every single bunch of hair before I curled it, serioslly made the curling time take twice as long and the curls did not stay twice as long. I bought this product for my wedding day hair do but after giving it a couple of tries before the big day I decided to to use it, I eneded up using good old medium hold hair spray. This product is sitting in a shelf along other expensive sucky products I bought in the past and will never use.

I used this dryer at a we-dye-it, you-dry-it salon up in Santa Monica. It has a great motor and blows a LOT of air, so if you're like me and need a fast-paced dryer that doesn't get too hot, this is a good buy. My only complaint was that it's a little heavier than your average dryer, so I had to keep switching hands. Or maybe I'm just a wimp.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the l'oreal everstrong line! I am a frequent bleacher and have very thick hair; this product does wonders! I have tried countless products, masks, and treatments to try to get my hair back to that 'virgin' feel before I started bleaching. Because of this reason, I have avoided blow drying, flat ironing, and curling my hair. When I first saw this I noticed that it was sulfur-free (which I always try to stick to) and that it was very affordable! I tried out the Reconstruct shampoo and conditioner and my hair loves it! The smell is very different (not your usual fruity smell), but it's not very strong and , in my opinion, smells great. After the first wash I could tell a difference. My hair was softer, less tangled, more manageable, and my ends seemed less brittle and more healthy. I also noticed a lot less shedding. I generally tend to use a LOT of shampoo and conditioner, to make sure my hair is fully covered and that there's enough conditioner to set in my hair. A WORD TO THE WISE: a little of this product goes a long way; especially with the conditioner. I quickly learned to use the conditioner very sparingly only on the ends of my hair. If you use a lot, especially on the roots, your hair will be weighed down and appear more oily more quickly. Use sparingly, and the results will be amazing. Definitely stuck to this product.

This is a wonderful product. I used to use L'Oreal's top-of-the-line product, Kerastase (Bain de Force shampoo, and Lait Vital conditioner). Also an amazing product, but at $38 for an 8 oz bottle, it got pretty expensive. I've tried a few different products, but have always gone back to Kerastase. It's the best. Or so I thought.

I freely admit, it was the advertizing for L'Oreal Everstrong that drew me in. I tried the Everstrong Bodify shampoo in combination with the Everstrong Reconstruct conditioner. AMAZING. My hair smelled wonderful (similar to Aveda), but more importantly, it continues to be soft, shiny, and healthy looking after several months of use. I won't say it's BETTER than Kerastase, but I will say that it's every bit as good. And for the price, you can't get any better.

GREAT product, GREAT price.

The Reconstruct shampoo and masque are absolutely magical.

My hair is long, making my ends at least 3 years old. It is permed and color treated. I blow dry and curling iron my hair. Needless to say my ends are very dry and very fragile.

This shampoo and masque keep my hair soft and manageable. I have minimal split ends, and almost no breakage. I couldn't live without them. And the best thing is they are SUPER affordable. I haven't found salon products that are this good, and they cost 2 to 3 times more.

For reference: wavy hair, normal to oily. I am growing out a full head of dyed hair, and so I have half-natural, half-dyed hair.

I like this product, but...I really struggle with it. I've used this on and off for a few years. It's a very mild conditioner, and leaves my hair feeling soft, not weighed down in the slightest, and never greasy or frizzy. The scent is delightful and lasts for several hours after my hair is dry. I now wash my hair with a very mild shampoo, every other day (or every three days, if I can help it). However, when I had a physical job and had to wash my hair daily, this quickly made my hair tangled, dry, and almost sticky.

The reason I struggle with it is that nothing in this conditioner is good for your hair. Mineral oil is a cheap product, usually derived from petroleum, that builds up on hair. "Paraffinum" is, unsurprisingly, paraffin wax. But it also contains isopropyl myristate, which dissolves wax, so...why include both? Seems like the wax will coat your hair, giving it a stronger feel, but they include small amounts of ingredients to dissolve that wax later on to prevent build-up. This seems silly.

Hair is dead and cannot be repaired, "reconstructed" or fixed. Protein treatments may help, and so may some waxes, but remember that these are temporary fixes that may damage your hair in the long run. So I think I'll skip this one for now.

Over the years, I have used a number of high-end high-priced hair products, and this conditioner works just as well if not better than most of them. I was a longtime devotee to Paul Mitchell and switched to Aveda I found that both of these brands left gunky residue in my hair after several weeks of use. I don't find that issue with this L'Oreal conditioner and the coordinating shampoo. It smells awesome too!

Never again will I go back to a regular dryer. Who would have thought for only $10 more you could get a dryer of this quality? This dryer is very powerful, it cut my drying time in half. It works great for styling with a round brush, and is hot, but not too hot. It is also very quiet, despite its power. I love the attachment, it stays put once you put it on (unlike my former Vidal Sassoon dryer). Another great feature is the buttons are slide style, not toggle, so you don't keep changing it on accident. I would definitely recommend this dryer.

Update 2 years later: I just bought another. My old one was still working, but the concentrator would not stay on because I dropped the dryer and the nozzle cracked and I think the wiring was going out (again due to being dropped many times). I looked around at other dryers but decided to get this same model because I truly loved it. Glad to see it was now available directly through Amazon.com with free shipping, last time I bought it through a merchant and paid $8.00 for shipping.

The DryGuy is near useless.

The Salon Power 1500 is obnoxious. It's loud, and doesn't dry well.

I love the Conair for shrinking window wrap and drying the dog, plus it did a great job on my hair! It's a very soft, warm breeze that is hard to beat.

The BaByliss is just amazing. With high fan and high heat I have to hold it back from the window wrap so it shrinks evenly, and keep it moving over the dog's coat or my hair so we don't burn, but man is it fast! Without the concentrator it gets right to the roots of thick hair, where as the Conair needs the concentrator, and doesn't dry as fast.

So what about the "ions?" Maybe they're there, but it seems blowing fast-moving air over any sort of solid material isn't going to create enough ions to do much of anything you or I could notice in daily life.

If you want quick but soft drying, get the Conair. If you want a really fast dryer, BaByliss is the one.

In the past, I bought hair dryers at Target because of the prices. I had no idea that a few more bucks can buy you a quality hair dryer that surpasses any Conair, Sassoon, etc. purchased at this and similar stores.

The difference in the quality is noticed immediately upon use. Although the BB Pro is a little heavier than I'm used to, it dries hair faster and with fewer frizzes. It's amazing!

I originally purchased this in January, 2010 and I loved it!!! In November 2010 it started shutting off while drying, at first it would come back on by jiggling the switch, but it became worse over time and I decided to send it in since it had a 2 year warranty. I like it so much, I ordered a second one so I wouldn't be without one when I sent the original one in, it cost $9.00 to ship it in, but they sent me a new dryer. All was well until October of 2011 when the new one started doing the exact same thing. Still under warranty I sent it in(Costing another $9. for shipping) and again they sent me a new dryer. And guess what, the second one started cutting off. I finally contacted the manufacterer explained what had been happening thinking they would at least replace it with a different model number, since this one obviously has some problems. No response, NOTHING. I understand that blowdryers do not last forever, but when they have a 2 year warranty, they should last at least two years not 6-10 months and this is supposed to be professsional quality? I have short hair, that dries quickly, so overheating isn't the problem, they havent been dropped or missused. I still have one working dryer, but who knows how much longer it will last considering it's predecessors, so I am still in the market for a good RELIABLE hair dryer. I Could have purchased a REAL professional hairdryer with the money I have invested in these, not to mention the time and frustration. It looks like some people have had success with this dryer, but how long had they had them before they leave glowing reviews? I use a blow dryer on a daily basis since i have tight curls. I'm so happy i made this purchase since it drys my hair quickly and it saves me time in the morning. It also gives me lots of volume without making my hair frizzy! Best of all look at how cute the design is.

This is a nice dryer. Much quieter and lighter than most dryers.

I love this blow dryer, hands down best one i've used. the only thing i would change would be the weight, although its not terrible and not hard to get used to. ive used a lot worse! given everything it does, its worth it!!! i wouldnt trade mine for the world, whenever anything goes wrong (every year or so) i send it to salon tech, they fix the problem and i get it right back!

The entire Mimi Diva line is made from Aquis' "Terry" weave which is the softest and fluffiest of their weaves.

This is an excellent product for young girls at home and especially at camp & at sleepovers since the product is so light and absorbent. The button helps keep everything in place.

The downside to the Aquis' "Terry" weave is that it attracts a lot of fluff and lint and gets very static-y out of the dryer. Ohterwise an excellent product.

The Mimi Diva line is aimed at teens and younger girls (hence the cutesy packing and pink/white colors) and the sizing is Junior sizing, smaller than their other line of products. These turbans are sized to fit heads that measure 20"-21" size small or 22" size medium with thin hair. If you have a sized medium head or larger and/or have thick or long hair, their turbans in their regular lines would fit better.

Turbans in their regular lines are only available in their other two weaves: the Original Lisse Crepe weave and the Waffle Weave. If you have exceptionally thick or long hair, even the adult sized turbans won't fit, and the bath towels (size XL) would be better. The size L towels (also marketed as their hair towels) are only a touch larger than their adult turbans.

I purchased this product with the intention of having it handy for our many granddaughters visits. I already owned my own microfiber turban (another brand) and was satisfied...until...that turban was in the wash and I needed one to wrap my wet hair. WOW! What a difference! This is so superior to my other turban that I threw that one away and will purchase four or five of this brand to keep on hand for granddaughter visits!

I've tried many different hair turbans, each claiming to be the fastest at drying your hair. I finally decided to purchase this one online, and I'm truly happiest with this product (I've returned all the other hair turbans). The Diva Dryer dries hair faster than other turbans, the material is very soft, and it cuts my morning routine time dramatically. It seems to help reduce frizz as well, perhaps because of less time using a hair dryer...Highly recommended product!

I ordered this because I wanted something to wrap my met hair in that would stay in place. I've just used a bath towel in the past, but it didn't stay in place very well. My hair is about shoulder length, and it probably doesn't need the capacity of this turban. Ifind the turban useful because it has a button at the back and a loop a the front to allow you to secure the turban in place once you have wrapped your hair in it and twisted the turban. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, but it does provide a means of keeping wet hair in place while you are drying off.

This is a great addition to your morning routine to help save some time and get you out the door sooner. The hair turban is like an oversized, super absorbant shower cap. I have yet to master the "technique" of making the turban, so I resorted to placing my hair inside the cap, twisting the back and placing it on one side of my shoulder.

Since this dries your hair more so than if you leave it air dry or keep it in a towel, I found that when I do then blow dry my hair, my hair feel more healthy and not as fried when I'm finished.

Twin Turbo makes the best and it's all I buy. I own two of these, one pink for the clients to use and a silver one that I use myself. Apparently this is the strongest and hottest blowing dryer they make and they do very well for me but don't drop it! The pink one gets dropped alot by the clients and I've dropped mine once and now both of them have a little gap in the main seam around the biggest part of the barrel. I don't really know if that affects anything but I don't like the way it looks. I've dropped their older models and this never happened. Not a real big issue and I will continue to buy their products.

I like this chrome spring unit because it is Quality made. Heavy chrome to last. Heavy steel twisty spring look that is Tough as nails. For my use I ground off the bottom plate of the spring.

Unit mounts nicely with provided screws and drywall plugs. I liked it so much I ordered the twisty spring wall mount for the curling iron. They match and look great on the side of the bathroom sink.

I kept this in the box for a while before my bathroom was ready for it to be installed. Within two months the bottom plate is rusting a lot and rust is starting on the curly part. Disappointed. Other than that, it seems very sturdy and heavy.

My Hot Tools curling iron is quite long and way too much of it would have stuck out the top since this Holder has a solid bottom---too precarious. I had to send it back.
