Reviews of Gold N Hot Ionic Soft Jumbo Bonnet Dryer

I am a long-time, loyal fan of Gold N' Hot products. I've tried other brands, and they just don't do it for me (or my hair) like this one does. But one thing I hate to do is dry my hair. I've been in and out of beauty salons for over 15 years and although it's easier to just let beauticians do what they do, I simply don't want to pay for something I already know how to do so I wash, dry, perm and style my hair more often than not. I'm OK with doing it all, but one thing I absolutely hate doing is drying my own hair. It's great for bicep muscles and electrocuted hair effects, but that's about it, and it's a hassle. I can't stand long-nosed dryers and as much as I like short-nosed dryers with the comb and brush accessories, some of the attachments break way too easily. And then when I keep refills along, of course the dryer dies on me and I'm stuck with an extra brush and combs so I finally stopped eyeing this dryer and bought one. I love it. Finally I'm not sitting around doing arm exercises (save those for the health club) trying to dry my hair, turning the TV volume up entirely too loud to keep myself busy while drying my hair and dealing with the attachment clips breaking. This dryer is comfortable to use while reading or watching TV, there are no fragile extra hair accessories involved, and it's low enough that I don't disturb my neighbors when I get the urge to wash and dry my hair in the late night hours. It's also handy to carry around -lightweight, has a suitcase-like handle and sturdy.
The only downside is the plug that attaches to the bonnet can get a little hot so make sure you sit at a comfortable angle. Plus, that string that's used to tighten the bonnet is too long (if you don't have rollers) so it's going to be a nuisance to your eyes unless you tuck it under the bonnet. I sat back, read a JET magazine and enjoyed my time. This is worth every dollar, and I should've gotten one of these years ago. Even better, it actually does dry your hair without tangling it, which was the reason I hadn't bought one all this time. My hair was easy to comb, oil and style. I still get the same electric-shock hair effect, but that's just part of having thick hair. As long as it's easy to comb afterwards, I don't care. Twenty minutes on high, about five minutes on low and I'm ready to roll.
First of all, the bonnet is huge and heavy. If you're doing a roller set and had some big curlers to hold it up, this might not be an issue, but it didn't work for my purposesjust bonnet drying my normal hair. The bonnet was so awkward that it just didn't stay up.
Second, the hose is pretty short. I couldn't even put the dryer on the toilet and stand up with it. I basically had to set it up on my lap.
Third, it just didn't feel warm enough to me. I tweaked the settings a little and nada. Maybe this is due to the empty space in the bonnet, again. I'm just guessing this isn't meant for what I needed.
Fourth, even if this had dried my hair well, I'm not sure I would have kept it. I travel a lot and having something portable is important. It doesn't matter if I get great hair on a day at home if I can't replicate it on vacation or a weekend away. It's pretty big.
I ended up loving the cheapo soft bonnet attachment by the same brand. Common negative reviews said that it didn't stay on their head and didn't fit their dryer. I didn't experience either of those issues and was left with the absolute best curls I've ever had.
If you're using this for rollers, I'd say maybe give it a try. For conditioning or if you're looking to replace a diffuser, this is probably not for you.

I loved this dryer and used it daily for about a month. However, like other reviews note, the bonnet is so poorly made that it started to tear after 10 uses. Now, two months later, it is almost unusable. I've tried every resource I can imagine to order a replacement cap, but I cannot find one. I wish the replacement parts were easier to find or that the bonnet were made of something sturdier.... I am back on the market for another dryer to get me through the winter months.Best Deals on Gold N Hot Ionic Soft Jumbo Bonnet Dryer
I REALLY wanted this to work. It just didn't do it for me. I was looking for a soft bonnet to replace diffusing for my 2c/3a hair. No matter what method I try, I always, always end up with frizz and fuzzy ends diffusing. I bought this one and the dryer attachment so I could test them both. This didn't last five minutes on my head before I gave in.First of all, the bonnet is huge and heavy. It looks like in the image. it is dark brown in color. it has longer length hair reaching/touching jawline and remaining hair are shorter than that. It is easy to comb (would recommend using wide teeth comb). Was easy to cut. Looks natural on Asian-Indian skin. Hair are smooth. It is not very sturdy/good quality to use for everyday. It shows stitching if not combed well and hair falls off if combed too much or roughly. I would recommend it for occasional use, not for everyday use.But it is good for the price for sure.

Soft and beautiful and natural looking for a very reasonable price is a fair description. I recommend it and love it personally, I trimmed the bangs a little, but exactly as is works great. merrygaleBest Infrashine Original Professional Ceramic Styling Tool Deals

I have very coarse, curly hair and I live in humid Seattle. I just got my hair cut a few weeks ago and my stylist used this product on my hair. I was amazed at how easily and quickly it straightened my hair. I had her order me one and it just arrived yesterday. I takes ten to fifteen minutes for me to straighten now where as other straighteners took thirty minutes or more. This is well worth the price and is much better than the more expensive CHI turbo. I would recomend this product to anyone with coarse or curly hair who does not have a lot of time to style or just doesn't want to spend the time but still get great results!
If I could give this more stars I would, because this iron is fabulous!!
**Make sure to be using a shine treatment with this such as Biosilk (personal favorite), to protect your hair from the heat. They work hand in hand to infuse the shine and moisture into your hair.
Pro's:
The iron heats up quickly
The cord is long and doesn't tangle
Adjustable temp--doesn't damage hair
Con's:
Pricey
Does take a little practice if you've never used a flat iron before

This flat iron works great! I have been using this iron since it was still called UNIL. I have also used a Chi and this works as good or better than the Chi. I am a cosmetologist of six years, and I use this on, and sell this to all of my clients! If I could give this more stars I would, because this iron is fabulous!!

I'd fallen into a rut. For the last 10 years, I'd had the same boring bob, but I didn't think that I had many options because my hair is baby fine. So when I got my most recent haircut and the stylist used an Infrashine flat iron on my hair to give it some pizazz, I knew that I had to have one. Upon arriving home, I promptly did a quick search to see who had the best price (Amazon!) and ordered one. My cupboards are full of beauty products that didn't live up to their claims, but this is one purchase I'm glad that I made. I love the 1" size, too. It's perfect for my chin length cut. I'd recommend purchasing a bottle of Biosilk Therapy Serum to go along with the flat iron. It seems to really protect my hair and leaves it extra soft and shiny.Pro's:

I have fine hair and I had tried cheaper ceramic irons which broke my hair off. My stylist used this tool, and I ordered one online since it was much cheaper than buying it from the salon. I have used it for about a month and my hair is not breaking. The ceramic iron glides over my hair, leaving it smooth and shiny. I am very pleased with this product and would buy it again.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Infrashine Original Professional Ceramic Styling Tool
It works quite well, but one thing I do not like is that there are no rubber "rest knobs" on the handle. When it gets hot (and the iron does heat up), and you want to rest it on the countertop, you really have to be careful that it doesn't mar the surface. I have had other brands that do have these type of rest knobs and they are not only handy, but make for a much safer product.Best Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron Deals

I am the kind of person who will splurge on cosmetics and beauty products and feel it's worth it so I don't necessarily look for the bargain buy in this area but the best working product.
Fortunately, this curling iron is not only priced well for the value, it beats out the "old school" curling irons I've used for the last 30 years.
I actually bought mine at Walgreens for a higher price after reading about it in a magazine.
Unlike any other iron I've used this one actually heats up in...wait for it....wait for it....30 SECONDS!!!
You can also choose your heat level from 1-15 but be leary of that 15---that is a scorcher.
However, some may be looking for that high of a heat. I keep it around the medium to medium high numbers and it curls in an instant. And I have uber thick hair.
Touch ups are instant rather than waiting for the iron to heat up. If I am going out and find I've missed a spot I can basically now instantly reheat the iron and have it hot 30 seconds after I turn it on.
Negative: I'm probaby odd in that I always hold my curling iron real close to the barrel. Because of this a few times I've accidentally turned the heat level without trying. Not a big deal, but something I'd change if I could to make the wheel maybe a little harder to turn.
Conclusion: tops in my book. I won't go back to the curling irons of the past where I have to wait for them to heat. Instant gratification, baby! :-)

OK, so after reading all of the reviews on this product my wife buys one. Well, in about 6 weeks the iron won't heat anymore. Sent it in got a new one because of the 2 year warranty (cost $10.00 for shipping & handling plus they wanted $3.00 for themselves). She used it about 4 months and then the little spring breaks. Having used other curling irons over the years and having had to replace the springs, we thought to call Conair and have them send us a replacement spring, about a $.10 item which takes about 60 seconds to replace. Well, they no longer sell the springs. The wanted to have us pack it up again and spend another $10.00 for shipping AND send them $3.00 to boot. Who are they kidding? What kind of service are they giving their customers. I will never buy another Conair product. I gave this product only one star because I couldn't go any lower.Best Deals on Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron
Ive been doing hair for 24 years, ive spent up to 50 on high cost "salon professional" irons, and these are by far the BEST irons Ive come across. They last for several years of daily use. Unlike those high dollar others that burn out so fast. They have the high heat setting, 1-25, and an auto shut off system. They have an instant 30 second turbo heat up too. so they dont nee to be on all day in the holder burning themselve out. The cost is amazing...9.99 to 14.99 is the most ive paid for these ever. I'll die if they ever discontinue these. Ive been using and buying these now for over 8 years. Keep them coming they are the best@! Thanks for listening. I dont promote many products , but I truley endorse these irons. Once you try them, you'll be hooked. The low cost has me hooked to. GREAT PRODUCT!!!Honest reviews on Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron
I needed a dual voltage curling iron and found this on Amazon. I had read that others found the temperature control move when they used it, but I didn't have that issue. It heats up very quickly and worked fine on the 220v in Brazil.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Conair Instant Heat Curling Iron
I picked up this curler in Wal Mart 10 years ago for about $12. It works wonderfully, heats fast, makes beautiful curls and doesn't snatch my hair out. I am a black woman with shoulder length hair and this curler straightens the hair from the root to the tip when I pull it through in small sections. I am then able to go back and curl it up for body and bounce. It gets hot!! When my first one broke after 3 years of use, I went out and spent $$$ on ceramic, gold n hot, and all types of overpriced styling tools. A few weeks and fuzzy hairstyles later I went back and copped my Conair Instant heat, and I was back in business. When I travel, I take these curlers, a silk scarf, satin rollers and my favorite moisturizer. That's all I need because I can straighten and curl with this. One last thing to add, ladies get some of the satin sponge rollers. After you make your body curls, keep them fresh with the satin sponge rollers, just wrap your curls around them and cover up. In the morning there is no need to curl again, you'll be good to go.Review of Jerdon JGL9W Tabletop Tri-Fold Two-Sided Lighted Makeup Mirror

My wife's makeup mirror lost much of the mirroring material.
So, she needed a new one.
This mirror is similar to the older style type I bought for her as a gift many years ago from Basco.
This is a Very large triple makeup mirror with two Bright 9 watt flourescent light tubes.
18 Watt Florescent = about 100 Watts incandescent.
IMO, Appears to be one of the brightest makeup mirror avalable.
I looked at the ConAirs and we almost purchased one of the round styles with the light inside.
(but I realized they are not very bright)
I carefully read the negative reviews about this product.
That is why I had to take a chance and buy this mirror.
The reviews that caught my attention were that you need a professional electrical person to replace the bulbs.
And the reviewers that mentioned that the bulbs burned out after a few uses.
I have some electrical experience with light tubes.
My wife told me the bulbs burned out right away.
I came in and had to have a quick look.
No, The lights are not burned out.
The trick is the light is manufactured with the old fashion preheat ballast tubes. (old reliable technology)
In order to light the bulbs you must hold the "ON" switch DOWN for 5 to ten seconds then the lights light and you let go of the switch.
The light bulbs are very bright and should work well for years if you do not damage or drop the mirror.
My wife complains that she has to hold the "ON" button down.
But, the mirror is indeed extremely bright.
Good Luck if you buy this mirror.
Hope my tip helps you.
I'm sorry about the reviewer who had a problem with the lights, but that was probably just something that went wrong with one mirror. Mine is a treasure and infinitely superior to the newer style ones out there today.
The reviewer previous, who stated that the trick is in holding the "on" button, was exactly correct. I can see where less-patient souls may claim that the bulbs are burnt out or that the appliance is defective. More than likely, it is an operator error.
The mirror is sturdy and the adjustable angles are very helpful for using on various surfaces, such as when traveling. I will definitely look for this brand IF this mirror ever needs to be replaced.

When a similar make-up mirrow that I had had for years finally died on me last year, I went out searching for a replacement. I tried the new style oval ones. They were just awful. The mirror was too small and the lighting was depressing. Then I found this one. It's wonderful. You get a decent sized front mirror and two side mirrors that are especially helpful to someone like me who is very myopic. The lighting somehow manages to be extremely flattering (which helps you feel better about yourself) while at the same time shows everything you need to see and possibly alter a bit.I'm sorry about the reviewer who had a problem with the lights, but that was probably just something that went wrong with one mirror. My old mirror finally died after over 15 years of use. (It didn't survive the move to the new house.) I was thrilled to find that it was still being made, and couldn't be happier with it. It was torture for the week that I had to live without it. It provides the perfect lighting for applying make-up or tweezing my eye brows. I have been using a mirror such as this one since I got handed-down my grandmother's old Clairol model in my teens. From the 5 or 6 models I have owned (all manner of brands and price ranges) this one is by far the best. It is brighter, and manages to reduces the "dark spots" that are so common in mirrors like this one.The reviewer previous, who stated that the trick is in holding the "on" button, was exactly correct. I just ordered this for my mother. We received it and it was a surprise at every turn. First of all we got it in less than two days and it arrived via Fed Express (no extra charge). Then the packaging was among the best I have seen with glass products. But no peanuts or shredded paper mess all over everywhere when you opened the box. The product itself: The weight is a good solid weight. It has multiple angles you can place it at and the stand that you do this with, is heavy gauge metal that is placed in various grooves; not ALL plastic that you fear breaking, everytime you reset the angle. The lighting on both sides is done with tubular as opposed to "Nite Lights" that are used on many mirrors. This produces a phenomenal quality of lighting. There are multiple settings for the type of lightening, depending on the type needed: for outside, office, home, daytime, night time, etc. The large middle mirror can be flipped to reveal a 5x magnified mirror. Another plus is that there is a plug outlet on it so that you could plug in electric rollers, hair dryer or any electric device needed at your vanity. I have owned many make up mirrors in the last thirty years and I hesitated on this at first, because I was not familar with the name brand. I am sure glad I ordered it anyway. Tonight I am ordering another one for myself. I have a lighted mirror already, but I cannot pass on this one. I will use my other one for traveling. You cannot miss with this product. It is worth every extra dollar. And the store that it comes from, is stellar!BaByliss Professional Carrera Ceramic Ionic Hair Dryer Reviews

I have used a store bought hair dryer my whole life and decided on a ceramic ionic hair dryer after using a friends dryer. My hair feels better and it does dry faster. My only gripe about this dryer is the location of the switches, this will take some getting used to. The low/high/off switch is located in the same location as where you hold the hair dryer and I have turned the dryer offa few times not on purpose. Other than that, I like it alot.

I got a sample of this MIRACLE with my HSI Flat Iron.... I'll start off by saying I've spent YEARS spending lots of money on trying to find products to smooth my hair and give the illusion of sealing the cuticle but the truth is almost all products OTC and Profession are silicone based.. they work in the temporary but actually leave my hair dry and unrully in not but a few hours after Styling my hair... I started with matrix smoothing system.. the ENTIRE line... it was much better than store brands but then I switched over to Paul Mitchel system and began using the super skinny serum and got onto the serum band wagon... again immediate result but silicone based and despite claims do NOT survive humidity or moisture.. AND you have to coat your hair in something to hold it in place.... there was no such thing as having one product to be my savior.... instead i ended up buying WHOLE lines.. And then more recently I went to ALL CHI products and was relatively satisfied. big fan of the Silk infusion serum.. the flat irons and their RX therapy moisture lock Hairspray *Note, the serum is also Silicone though albeit better than the matrix or paul mitchell ... I had to "seal" it in with the hair spray.. and it claims to allow movement and soft to the touch... It DOES at shine and "look" soft but i hate to say it still felt like Aquanet if you touched it....
I had developed a very involved weekly intensive hair ritual.... Once a week I used a 20-30 min session with hot coconut oil... then id wash it with keratin shampoo and condition... then wash it.. DRY it... then Apply a Prof Clear glazing system and do another 20 min session... then wash it with brunette shine shampooo and conditioners... and THEN use another Glaze to intensify my brunette dye.... and THEN use color l color and humidity lock conditioner. leave in.. and then rinse.. and THEN add the CHI serum.. THEN blow dry my hair and it turned into a dry coarse bush of a tumble weed... then I'd use more serum... comb it in with a fine toothed comb... and a 3 day straight semi permanent straightener... blow it out til hair is almost dry and somewhat straight and THEN use my chi flat iron... would look nice and THEN use the RX hairspray... it gave the illusion of silky texture and shiny and straight ... but it WASNT.. i still had wave and as they day went on it returned to its original state .. it seemed the serum actually was drying my hair... and the constant ritual of hair care was exhaustive..
But when i got my HSI flat iron.. it was the best choice in the lifetime of my hair!!!! I wont go into the iron.. other than that it is my fave iron i ever had and works very quickly and does the job... but this little bottle of argan oil that curiously came with it turned out to be the ultimate catalyst and a real life magical potion.. I made sure NOT to do my intensive ritual to test the quality of my product... I put the oil in.. my hair absorbed it and immediately shined and began to straighten already.. beautiful sheen. lovely smell.. hair was supple... and a mirror sheen. and THEN i used the flat iron .. I noticed steam coming off my hair .. but it was not at ALL damaging... i was AMAZED at how with a single run through each section would come out flat and DEFINE. i never had definition before in my hair... and the MIRROR sheen... I have never seen such beautiful results in anyone outside the orient or middle east... ive always envied naturally straight and mirror sheen straight hair... its so elegant and refined and It MOVES.. naturally... I ONLY used this oil and i got ALL the definition.. shine.. CONTROL.... and my hair MOVED and i could toss it and it would go back in place... i only used a SMALL amount of an ultra sheer hairspray to set my hair and it was ALL i needed... I couldnt believe it.. this little oil... how many 100's of dollars have i wasted over the year desperate for straight silky hair and then all of a sudden i have it.... the best part of the oil too is it protects from heat. it also SEALS the cuticle.. silicons DO NOT.. they just weigh the hair down and build up... the Oil is so light.. it SEEMS expensive for the amount you get.. but remember its totally natural and pure... and iVE never come across anything like it.. also each time you use it the texture and condition of your hair gets BETTER. I have much more FREEDOM now and no more helmet head or a battle... i have battle my curls and waves my whole life desperately wanting straight shiny hair.... I FINALLY have it ... in a way im totally satisfied with....

I have very low porosity hair (low porosity = hair that has a hard time absorbing and holding onto moisture, eg. dry!!!) And heat from blow-drying, flat-ironing, etc. (which I rarely use anymore), always drys my hair out even more. The reviews were so good on this product, I thought, though pricy, I'll give this a try...
I blow-dried my hair w/a diffuser and I poured a little of the HSI Argan oil into a saucer (about the diameter of a votive candle). With each section I flat-ironed, I dipped my pointer finger in the oil, rubbed it between my first two fingers and my thumb, and applied it to the length of my hair. One pass of the flat iron at about 300-320 degrees was all each section took. One pass! It took about 4 "pours" into the saucer to do my whole head.
The results? Uber soft, moisturized curls that (and this never happens), lasted all day! Confession: I couldn't stop touching it.
Note:
For ladies who have a similar hair type and want to know how it may work for them; I'm African American and have shoulder length 4a-4b hair that's been textlaxed (hair with a relaxer used 1/2 the processing time with oil added to it, to only slightly release the curl pattern).
This is now, and will continue to be, a permanent part of my hair care regimen.

It is absolutely unbelievable how good this Argan oil hair treatment is! I hate(d) flat ironing my hair because I thought my hair was too dry, limp, and weak to get soft, bouncy, moisturized results.
