I have been searching for a good hair dryer that was reasonably priced. Because this dryer was recommended by Essence Magazine having been tested by women with my hair type, I couldn't wait to try it. I have been relaxer-free for more than 3 years. I have very thick, dry, kinky ethnic/AA hair that is about 4 inches past my shoulders. Because I do not use chemicals, I was using a flat iron that was damaging my hair. I stopped using curling and flat irons in June. Instead, I used a boar bristle brush and blew my hair straight with the "Yellow Bird" blow dryer and nozzle attachment. I achieved good results but my hair was always a bit frizzy and not as straight as when I used a flat iron.

I used this dryer for the first time with the nozzle and boar bristle brush, wow what a difference! My hair is straight, shiny, and soft, almost like it used to be when I used the flat iron. This dryer doesn't leave my hair flat iron straight rather it straightens my hair and gives it a lot of body. It takes less time to blow dry my hair with this dryer also.

A few negatives When you select high heat and high air, it takes a few seconds to heat up. The heat and air buttons are right where you hold the dryer so I am always lowering the heat or air pressure accidentally. The high heat is very, very hot. You have to keep the dryer moving or you will burn yourself. Additionally when the air is on high it blows the nozzle off of the dryer from time to time.

This product was okay but I couldn't see a major difference with the drying time. It actually seemed to take longer then my old blow dryer. The attachments kept falling off the dryer in mid blow dry. Okay product but I would search around before buying next time.

Great product. Newer model, higher watts with hotter heat than the last one I had. The last one I had lasted several years but I replaced the bonnet several times until the company stopped making that model then I was forced to buy the new dryer.

The change that Gold N Hot made to their 1650wt dryer is awful. I have very curly hair and used the previous model(GH9223) to pull my hair straight as I dryed it, I also used the styler/dryer to refresh my hair on the days that I did not wash it. This new brush is too soft, once the heat hits it I can only get the brush on the top layer of my hair (when it is dry), I can not get the whole section of the hair in the brush. When I used the new styler/dryer with the new brush after washing my hair it took me twice as long to dry and style my hair than it had previously, plus my hair did not look very good. I also found the on/off etc very difficult to manipulate when drying my hair, perhaps this is due to the fact that I was stuggling with pulling my hair through the brush.

PRODUCT: This product does an incredible job. My bathroom is pretty well stocked with an arsenal of good products (Aveda, MoroccainOil, Kerastase, Pureology, J Beverly Hills, etc.), and my hair (wavy, long, fine but voluminous, and highlighted) vastly prefers Brocato products to these other brands in almost every category. (For those of you who use the above-named competitors and such, you know this is no small feat.) Obviously I hold Brocato products in very high regard, then. This product is no different, and is a personal favorite. I run a few drops through my wet/damp hair (combined with a blip of CurlKarma) and comb/scrunch, then air dry. It helps to make hair shiny, soft, smoother...and quite effectively, I might add. (It does not take long at all to see positive results from this product.) It also smells *incredible*, in my opinion. Please know that this smell is TO DIE FOR, but in something of a unisex type of way. If you want something with a floral scent or what have you, keep on looking. I happen to love the way it smells (yummy!), and consider it a huge plus!

I found this when we went to a hotel, loved the size and convenience. Thought if the hotels use them they must be good quality. I bought one and was wonderful for a couple of years then the switch broke, so I bought 2 more, one to replace the broke one and one for guest bath. Just received them on Aug. 6 and the switch on the low setting already broke. Did not last a full month. Will look for others.

I found out about this dryer in a hotel and loved it. We got one for every full bathroom.

This is small and powerful and after a year or so of use is still going strong. It eliminates the problem of where to store the dryer and plug and unplugging a dryer every day or else keeping one plugged in a taking up counter space.

I don't know why Target and other retailers don't sell it. When I go there, the monstrous dryers are a joke compared to this one and they're more expensive too!

I think you can get this with or without the night light. Not sure how much power the light uses but its on 24/7 so we've take to tripping the circuit breaker button on the little plug so its powered off in the guest bathroom so its not sucking power for the whole year waiting for the holidays for guests to show up. :-) Still, I think it might be an LED and taking that much power anyway. That little light is useful when guests come however.

When my last Sunbeam wall mount hair dryer died recently, I thought i'd just replace it with an idential unit. Alas, this handy item has been redesigned. It's still a convenient wall mount hair dryer, but as the company strove to make it more jazzy looking, they introduced a nuisance. The old unit fit my hand comfortably. The new design has such a thick handle that only my 6'2" husband would find it comfortable to hold. Similarly, Sunbeam lengthened the nozzle. I see no benefit to this. It just makes it stick out farther from the wall. The old unit was small, light and easy to handle. The new unit is bigger, heavier and awkward to handle. The one good thing is that the new unit is quieter than the old.

This hairdryer was advertised as being three speed and three heat settings. It was only 2 speed and 2 heat settings. I paid more for this hairdryer because of these features then I would have had to at other sellers sites. This disapointed me.

I have tried everything for my fine, frizzy hair, and when I used smoothing and/ or conditioning products, all I ever ended up with was a heavy, greasy, flat look. Then I found Daily Keratin and my hair is sleek but not limp, its manageable, shiny and vibrant looking, has a little bit of volume and bounce, as well. Best of all, it will last until the next shampoo. I would recommend this product , its well worth the price. I have also been able to stop using the flat-iron (I just use a large round brush to acheive a smooth look) and my hair has stopped breaking since I no longer need heat tools. For those who are confused, as I was, with the product's directions....I wash my hair and then towel dry WITHOUT using any post-shampoo conditioner or detangler. When I am out of the shower, I rub a nickel to quarter sized "drop" (I have shoulder-length hair) onto the palms of my hands and then work through my hair. I wait a few minutes,and then blow dry. I purchased the T3 Tourmaline 83415 Narrow Duality Professional Ionic 1 Inch Ceramic Styling Iron. Within 30 days the Styling Iron quit working. It would just shut off. I thought at first it was an electrical problem with my outlet. But it kept doing it, everytime I used it. It would work for 5 minutes and then shut off. So I called Amazon and let them know. I recieved a different one. I am not sure if it will continue to work or will have the same problem. Amazon took a long time for them to send a postage paid sticker so I could send the old one back. I had to call Amazon several times. When you buy this product from Amazon it says it is brand new. But they have cut off the serial number off this product and the warrenty with the company is no good. If your product quits working, you are screwed. I emailed T3 and they said sometimes companys like this are actually referbished products. Products that stoped working and a person fixes them. It is a better idea to just spend the extra money and buy from a authorized dealer.

While iron gets very hot (410 degrees I have coarse/kinky hair), does not seem to flatten/straighten hair with silkeness/shine that other ionic irons that I have used in the past do. Also generates a rather unpleasant odor.

I used my friend's Barbar Italy to see what was so special about it. The answer is nothing. A $20 dryer at Target or wherever is just as good, on some even better. It dries hair and that's it. I even asked my stylist about it and she literally laughed out loud. P.T. Barnum's famous saying must have been written just for this product (if he had been around). I am literally stunned that someone would take use any hard-earned or even inherited money on this the only people who would buy this is definitely in the 1%. It's embarrassing to be an American and have the world see how thoughtfully we spend our money. The 80s must be coming back where the saying was "greed is good." Shameful.

I recently moved to Florida and the sulfur water was drying out my skin and my hair. I am mixed with African American, native American and Puerto Rican so my hair is fairly mixed.
