I received this flat iron as a gift from my best friend and I'm in love with it. I've had a flat iron a few years back, though it did the job, it left my hair feeling thicker and damaged. With this flat iron, my hair feels smooth and soft; it felt as if I hadn't even used the iron on it!

My hair can be considered thin; I'm Chinese, and Chinese girls have somewhat fine to thin hair. So, when I use this, I don't use the maximum heat level. It doesn't say the exact temperature of the heat because it's like one of those knobs where it just shows the lowest and the highest. My setting is around the middle, so the temperature should be around 250degrees; highest is 450 and lowest is 140. I tried using higher temperature but I don't like the feeling of my hair super hot.

Also, I use this to dry my hair in the middle of the night. Sometimes when I get home late and shower really late, I use this instead of a hair dryer to dry my hair; because hair dryers are loud and this is quiet. Even though I've used this on damp hair, my hair wasn't fried to a crisp. I set the temperature slightly less than the middle, so it was about 1/4th from 140degrees. Another reason that I love this flat iron.

Though there are a few Pro's about this flat iron, there are a few Con's as well.

Pros:

Quick heat up; takes about 30 seconds to heat up

Light indicator on the side

Smooth and easy to glide through hair

Long power cord

Swivel cord; makes it less likely to tangle up & won't rip if you wrap the cord around the iron

Leaves hair soft and smooth

Adds a bit of shine to my hair (personally it did)

Cons:

Tugs my hair a bit at the ends

Hard to curl hair with

The end of the iron (where the swivel cord is) can clip onto your skin (I've done that...it hurts a lot)

Back of the iron (where the zebra patterns are) gets heated

Takes long to cool off

I bought my Fahrenheit Titanium at TJMaxx for $30. I have very naturally curly crazy frizzy hair I was very skeptical because I have never spent so little on an Iron before. I had my CHI for 8 years and it worked great, I loved it, then the cord broke and I needed a new iron fast. I did a little research and decided I wanted a Titanium iron but couldn't afford a Babyliss (which is the best) so I picked this one up. I went straight to my friend's house and plugged in her brand new CHI ultra and my new Fahrenheit. My Fahrenheit heated up faster than the CHI. We then decided to do a one pass test with each iron. The CHI did the job but could use a couple more passes, but my Fahrenheit sealed the deal with one pass and left it softer and more shinny that the CHI. I like that you can change the heat setting and the non-slip grip will help me from dropping it. I also like that it has a small plug so I can have two styling tools plugged in at one time. BUY THIS FLAT IRON.... It's worth it!!!!!

Im not gonna lie I have only used it once, but being from a Nigerian/Caribbean background my hair is VERY kinky, and pretty long as well! Someone recently bought me this straightener as a graduation gift, and I used it on MEDIUM setting and was able to straighten my hair in a matter of 30-40 minutes. Even at the hair salon it takes them an hour and a half just to get it looking this way. It bounces and is extremely silky, and no one would ever believe I have kinky hair! Its insane! I usually buy those 15 dollar Conair ones but you definitely get what you pay for. I am so happy with my Zebra flat iron! [=

Locks in hair's natural oils, so it makes your look extremely glossy.

Cons

Takes about 5 minutes to cool down, which is definitely NO BIGGIE

After first use, the plates fell out. Should have known better and returned it, but didn't want the hassle. So now the plate cracked and the crap company (Cortex USA)says I have to pay $25 for shipping to replace a defective product!! And then they are cocky about it! Buy something else from another company and save yourself the hassle!

This is my 4th Bio Ionic hair dryer since they first started making them in the late 1990s. I have owned 2 of the travel size, 1 Whisper Light and now the Freestyle.

The Freestyle is extemely durable and appears to be of professional grade quality. The Whisper Light, although I got great results, is not nearly as strong as the Freestyle. In fact, I had accidentally dropped the Whisper Light and it broke beyond repair. I can tell that the Freestyle would not break if dropped because it appears to be heavy duty and extremely well made.

The results of the Freestyle are wonderful! Unfortunately, I was forced into using a Revlon Ionic dryer for awhile and could immediately tell the difference when I started using the Freestyle 3 days ago.

Hair dries much faster!

No more FRIZZ!

Powerful airflow with different setting options!

Hair appears smoother and shinier!

I also love the hot pink color and white cord!

I do believe that the Bio Ionic Hair Dryers are of the highest quality! If you blow dry your hair everday or even frequently it is worth spending the extra money. I try my best to take care of my hair because of the color, blow drying, and flat ironing I put it through. I know when I'm using Bio Ionic my hair appears much healthier!

This mirror provides the right amount of magnification for makeup, etc. I selected it for its smaller size and am pleased that it takes just a small amount of room and folds flat against the wall. It was easy to install and is well made.

Love, love, love this hair dryer! Purchased it based on a reccomendation of my hair stylist. My T3 has died for the second time and needed a stand it while I sent it back....again (I cannot reccomend the T3, except that the company has great customer service). So I bought a travel dryer to pack for trips. Eventhough it is a smaller travel size dryer, it completely blows the T3 feather weight away!!! I could use this everyday! I have long (think mid back) thick hair that is wavy and takes a while to dry and then flat iron smooth. This dried my hair in 10 minutes with no flat iron needed....and it truely makes my hair feel silkier. Wierd!?! I guess if I wanted my hair to look really nice I could do a tiny bit of flat ironing. Worth every penny! Planning on purchasing the larger size as soon as possible....T3 will now be a back up! Totally reccomend this dryer!

I was really excited to receive this blow dryer about seven months ago, before a trip to Europe. The plan was to make it my main blow dryer, not just one designated for travel. Well, it worked fine until last month, when suddenly, without warning, it stopped operating when set to "high." Basically, it works fine on "low" but only intermittently on "high" for no apparent reason. I still have the warranty and plan to use it (these dryers aren't cheap!) but it really makes you wonder how I could have a low-brow Conair for 10 years with no problems and then get a fancy one only to have it malfunction in less than a year. Up until last month, I would have given it a higher rating but now I don't trust the brand.

I'm always weary of the product nay-sayers when there are so many positive responses for a product, but I felt it necessary to review this product as it truly deserved. I rec'd the dryer within 3 business days which was astounding considering the estimated delivery date was still a week out. I used the dryer that night to practice best use before packing it for a European trip. It took longer to dry my very thin hair than I'm used to and longer to achieve the smooth look I'm used to with my everyday dryer. I will make it work with practice. I believe that's the trick with this dryer.

I'm very seasoned when it comes to dying my hair black, so I know crap when I see it.....this stuff is crap. It left my scalp mint green and its messy as all outdoors and I'm just speachless. I so wanted this to work and it has the potential to be a good product, but in its current state, no way.

Overall, this is a great semi-perm coloring product, however the color seemed to be a little off. I ordered the dark brown and it colors my hair a dark burgundy (red) at the ends. Even my beautician noticed the redness. I'm not sure if it has to do with my natural hair color or if the product just colors your hair that way.

I didn't buy this product on amazon but I wanted to share my experience since it is so highly recommended on certain hair forums. The product was very messy. I bought the brown color and my hair came out red. Too many people have experienced this so there is obviously no consistency in product preparation. Zero gray coverage. Sebastian makes a similar product which costs less so I will be using that instead.

I'm giving this comb set 5-stars because for the money, I was extremely impressed with the quality and durability (so far) of the set. None of the combs were bent, none of them have failed, I only have good things to say about these! I use them for styling my hair, as well as combing my beard. My mother-in-law has had a similar Panasonic hair dyer for years that she purchased in Taiwan. I used it at her house a few months ago and was so pleased with the results that I went on a search for one. To my surprise, I discovered that they really don't sell these in the US. I found a round-brush John Frieda hair dyer, but it had almost no power (low heat, would have taken 45 minutes to dry my hair completely!). I had to return it. When I came across this dyer on Amazon, I was a little hesitant to purchase it. Since it's made for the Japanese market, I was concerned that the voltage would be a problem. To my delight, this dryer has been absolutely FANTASTIC! When I say that it has totally transformed my hair, I am not exaggerating! I have fairly thick, shoulder length hair and to get my hair to look smooth with a decent amount of style, I would have to first blow dry with a traditional dyer and then use a straightener. I have two babies under the age of two and I just don't have time for this! Now I sit down on the couch with this dyer I don't need a mirror, you just run the brush through your hair it heats up wonderfully (very hot, I love it!), is lightweight, and within ten minutes, my hair is COMPLETELY dry and STYLED. My husband has complimented my hair several times in the past week since I started using this dyer. He hasn't done that since my pre-baby days (when I had time to style)! In summary, PURCHASE THIS DRYER! Don't be concerned with reviews that say it will not work with American outlets. It absolutely will. My mother-in-law's Panasonic dryer has literally lasted her through YEARS of use in the US. Panasonic really should start distributing this product to the US market.

Takes a while to dry my hair so I start off with my regular hair dryer and finish with this one. It leaves my hair soft and straight but not board straight like a flat iron does.

I have some health issues at the moment and find drying my hair using a round brush and dryer to be almost impossible. I do have a similar dryer by another manufacturer but it only does not give off much heat. I read the reviews on this dryer and it sounded like it was something I could use. The product arrived on time and was well packaged. No clamshell to deal with--I also knew the instructions would be in Japanese. Trying it for the first time was an experience because of the shape of the brush, which is more like a comb. That wasn't a problem though, the heat was the problem and I felt it was just too harsh for my fine, thinning hair. I will stick with my lower wattage dryer and even though it takes a bit longer to dry my hair, I am more comfortable with it. I sent it back but for anyone with a nice, thick head of hair who want to get their hair dried quickly, I think you should give this a chance. It is well made and I am just sorry it didn't work for me.

I originally purchased one of these stylers 5 years ago & it's still working. When I saw it available again, I decided to buy another for backup as after 5 years of use, there's a good chance it will just poof one day. When I received the 2nd one, it had been redesigned a little bit. Upon using it, I liked the new design much better!!! Since it seemed to style my hair better, I continued using the 2nd purchase...putting the old one up to be used as a backup. Around week 2, I began to hear an occasional pop; but nothing bad seemed to happen. By week 4, along with the popping sound there were sparks shooting from the styler. Concerned that it might set my hair on fire, I requested a replacement. Sadly, that seller would only give a refund. I must say that Amazon made it very easy to return the defective item & the refund was issued within 24 hours of their receiving it back. Since I liked the current version of this styler so much better than the old, I purchased a 3rd styler from a different seller. I'm on my 3rd week now & have not heard even one pop. So, I'm hoping the defective styler was a one in a million occurrence. I decided to give this styler a 5-star rating as I really do love it & I may have purchased the only defective item out of the millions made. After careful thought, I determined that it would be wrong to give a 4-star for having one minor problem in over 5 years!!! At my age, if this one lasts over 5 years like the last one, it will more than likely outlive me!!! If anything changes, I'll be back with an update

I purchased this dryer for a coast-to-coast trip I have planned in the future. I haven't had much success with hotel dryers, and I hate taking up space and weight on a flight with a full-sized dryer, so I purchased this based on two outstanding reviews and the fact that I already own the Bio Ionic full-sized dryer. Although the image on Amazon is white, the one I received is matte black. I have only used the dryer once, but I am giving it 5 stars based on the information available to me at this time. The dryer is extremely light weight it weighed in on my digital postal scale at just 17.4 oz. The size is approximately 8" from back of dryer to front end of barrel, including the concentrator attachment. The height is also approximately 8", and the cord is 5-1/2 feet long.

The switch to change from 240v to 120v is actually a screw, likely requiring a screwdriver, so if you are traveling to a country requiring the 240v, you will want to change it before you leave. (And of course don't forget to change it back immediately upon your return so you don't damage the dryer.)

The dryer folds compactly with a twist of the handle, and it unfolds just as easily. The settings are high, low and off, and it is controlled by a slide switch. I am right handed, but I hold the dryer in my left hand. I could slide the switch from off, up two positions, to high with my left thumb, but I needed to turn it off with my stronger right hand, as it is a bit stiff. I assume it will loosen up over time.

The dryer is only 1200 watts, and I have thick wavy hair, but it dried my hair in about the same time as my full-sized dryer. My hair was left smooth with minimal waving. Although the full sized Bio Ionic dryer allows you to unscrew the threaded dust/lint screen on the back for cleaning, I cannot see any way to do that with this unit. All things considered, I am looking forward to using this dryer while traveling. I will upload some photos as well.

Update 8/16/13

I'm taking away one star, as the switch is still annoying me. It is a slide with little to grip, and although I can turn it on with one hand, I have to use to hands to turn it off since the slide is so stiff.

Even with all the attachments, this diffuser did not fit my Conair hair dryer. I could barely squeeze on the largest fitting, but it would continually pop off while I was drying my hair and eventually cracked down the side from being shoved on too many times. I was very disappointed and ended up having to buy a new hair dryer that came with its own diffuser attachment. I am sure the product would be fine with the right hair dryer.

I am a fan of Gold n Hot and even though I have had better performing dryers, this one will do. The comb attachment will hurt though. The teeth will bore into your head like nobody's business. And you lose the ability to move the comb around to adjust from your left to right hand. The comb locks and moving it means you have released it. Taking some getting used to.

I've had this hair dryer for years. At least 8 years, matter of fact and still going strong. I like that it has more than 2 heat setting. The cool setting works great when my hair gets over heated. I use the comb attachment and have broken at least 2 teeth off since I've had it. No worries it still works!

Just know, all my friends have used it and have try to steal it but IT'S MINE. I "heart" this dryer and it's one of the best!!!
