Buyer Beware! I purchased this costly hair dryer because it was professional grade, light weight, and had a seemly good WARRANTY. However, it malfunctioned in a scary way arced at the top of the cord. Causing a burn to the hand and almost my HAIR! Have been using this dryer every day for a week don't know about the ceramic & tourmaline features but am very satisfied with the results. Needed a dryer with power in low/warm settings and knew the 1200w travel version had a little more speed in low than other dryers its size. The 1875's light weight & smaller plug is a bonus. So far the rocker buttons don't seem to be a problem (getting in the way or accidentally switching off). The instructions mention this dryer is for household use only. 6/23/13 update: have used the dryer every day for over a year, and it still works great with no problems.

If you wait till it's on sale you'll be so glad you purchased this! Definitely the best hairdryer I've ever used. I have very thick and long hair (all the way down my back) and before this hairdryer it used to take me about 15 minutes to blow-dry my hair. With this it takes me about 6. I bought a second one to keep at my parents house when I visit that's how great this is!

I am a hair stylist and I am about to open my own salon. There is a lot of stress involved in opening your own business but receiving the CORRECT product should not be one of them. I did my research and ordered through Amazon because noone had ever let me down when ordering through them. Until now. I ordered a portable hair dryer and waited patiently for it to be delivered. When I received it, I opened the box and began putting it together. One of the pieces did not fit so I just thought that maybe I was doing it wrong. After myself, my landlord, AND a maintenance man tried to put it together, we all agreed that the wrong part was delivered and that I should call customer service to ask for a replacement. After one email and two phone messages, I received a phone call back only to tell me that the manager said that the piece does fit and to try harder. WHAT??!! I tried so hard that I gashed my finger! The customer service agent was very nice but had to relay this message to me from the manager. So my question is...How in the world do you know if THIS piece actually fits?! Is it possible that I received a faulty part????? So now my only two choices are to go back and try to fit this piece in and possible hurt myself worse (it's a metal pole by the way) or send it back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. So now I am back to the start and my salon opens in less than three weeks. Thank you, Mix Wholesale, for wasting my time.

I have very long (to my butt), fine, wavy hair. Being Dominican, I remember going to the salon every Saturday morning since I was 10 with my mother so that we could pay 20-30 dollars for our "lady" to blow dry my hair.

Fast forward a few years (I'm 30 now): I work full time, am married, AND went back to school. So, I don't have time to go to the salon and sit there for hours until my hair gets blown out.

Thankfully, with my hair, all I have to do are rollers and sit under the dryer for 40 minutes and boom...no salon, nice waves, better than blown out! Much cheaper than going to the salon, btw.

I looove that the dryer has a timer, which means I don't have to watch the clock constantly. The dryer gets VERY hot, almost too hot (I used the highest setting), but that means I spent less time under the dryer. It's not very loud at all, which I also like. Also, in order to adjust height in most dryers, one needs to turn some sort of knob, right? Not with this one! I just push it down as low as I need or pull it up as high as I need, and I'm done. Some people may not be used to his, but it works for me.

When I do rollers, I only use the Jumbo/Extra Large ones all around my head. Even so, I'm STILL able to fit under and inside the bonnet.

I took off one star b/c it was a bit challenging putting it together. The materials seem a bit cheap, but overall, the dryer gets very hot, is not noisy, and makes it look like I went to the salon!

Good buy, great value.

I was looking for a professional dryer to help me achieve salon-quality roller sets at home. But I wasn't ready to spend $300-400 on the well-known Pibbs brand. This dryer more than met my expectations. I ordered from Mix Wholesale and they were wonderful. It shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived in 3 business days. Setting up the stand was relatively easy. I could have used a small spanner to help tighten the screw, but I managed fine with no tools.

The dryer head is large and easily fits a full set of large rollers. I love that the heat evenly reaches all parts of the head, even the very back. It has an adjustable temperature gauge (cool 75 deg.C) and a timer setting (up to 60 minutes). What I really love is how quiet this dryer is! My old tabletop dryer was so loud I worried about disturbing my roommates. But this one is so quiet I can comfortably have a phone conversation while it's drying my hair!

In summary,

Pros: large head, even heat distribution, quiet, low price

Cons: Can't think of any!

Overall: Loving it!

I'm so surprised that this doesn't have many reviews, I think this is the best hair appliance I've ever bought. I had the instyler, and could not get the hang of the roller going the "wrong way" on one side of my head. This solves that problem with a (left,off, right) button the switches the direction the roller goes in. It is sooooo easy to use. My hair is naturally curly, and it has always been a problem to straighten my hair so it naturally straight looking in the past. It would be stick straight and stick flat against my head if I pulled the straightener through, or the wave would just be pressed flat, but still be "bumpy" if I clamped the iron over each section. This does not happen with this styler. It has bristles that seperate the hair prior to straghtening, so it is flat and stays gripped well while you pull it through your hair. The plate is also curves, so it doesn't make your hair pin straight, it has volume. My hair looks like its been professionally blown out every time I use it, and its quick. Also, half the price of the instyler. Its a win/win!

The only con is that it is LOUD (as much as the inslyler) Whenever he's home when I use it, my husband asks me what the noise is, it sounds nothing like a blowdryer, more like a power tool.

This product works wonders for anyone w/ thick, course & dry hair...I was skeptical at first, as I've tried so many others only to be dissapointed, but amazed at the outcome. I'm latin and we tend to have very hard to manage hair, on top of that I color may hair which tends to dry/damage it; well this product did the trick and left my hair smooth, shiny, and managable. Didn't leave it just flat like other styling products, I already have body to my hair but this tamed it and put it in place with a natural wave. I'm just in love with this product & cheaper than other ones out there!

My hair is really think and wavy. I left my Chi 3 hours away and decided to buy this at the grocery store. For the price, ($50) I thought it would be a waste and would end up returning it. Well, I'll leave my Chi where it is and forget about it. I'm not sure how it would work on thin/fine hair....but on my super thick hair, it does awesomely! It doesn't make it look stick straight, like someone mentioned before...it has body to it but still straight. It works faster than the Chi too. I just run it through once and don't have to keep doing it like I would with the Chi. Great product!!

I have always been curious about the InStyler, but I've seen the reviews so I was never going to buy it. When I saw that this was similar but got much better reviews and was cheaper, I had to try it out! I am quite happy with it! I have slightly mixed African-American hair with tight soft curls and this works like a charm. Normally, when I want to straighten my hair I have to blow-dry it using a comb attachment, and then I have to use a curling iron or flat iron to get it really smooth. This process takes a long time and I hate doing it. The Conair ProStyler pretty much does both of these processes at the same time! Now, my styling time is cut in half! It's amazing! The only thing that doesn't make this a perfect 5 star is that it doesn't really straighten my roots so then I use the comb attachment on my blow dryer to take care of that. Other than that I really recommend this product!

I bought the ProStyler first, obviously because it was $50 cheaper and I normally don't drop $100 on a hair tool. I have VERY naturally curly hair and it is bra length with long layers and bangs. The ProStyler did a great job at straightening my hair, but BOARD straight, like a chi and with the casing, you cannot curl the ends, I don't care WHAT the packaging says!!! So if you're just wanting a good straightener, this will work great for you, however, I also noticed that if left my hair feeling and looking damaged at the ends instead of the "polished" healthy look like the InStyler. It also "crimps" the hair if you don't get with it and move fast enough!! Overall, it's not a horrible product and for some would be good if what you're looking for an easy straightener to use maybe once or twice a week vs daily due to the damage done on hair.

I returned this ProStyler and bought the InStyler and love it SO much better because while it's still hard for me to do curls, (I'll likely just stick with my curling iron for this), I can straighten and curl the ends under or flip with ease AND my hair LOOKS and FEELS healthy and shiny after use, so I don't worry about using daily if I choose to. For ME, the InStyler was worth the extra $50.

this is a great iron for curls & spiral curling. I have very fine hair. There has been NO damage to my hair in 6 months and I use x2/week. I also use heat protect-chi serum. You can adjust the temperature for type of hair. I use 350-ish very quick no need to hold hair in iron longer than 2-3 seconds. results are smooth and shine to hair.

This is NOT the same iron you find in Sally's... although they have one that appears to be the same.

This product is for anyone who would like to have hair that looks as shiny and healthy as they were as a young child. I have blond waist length hair that as a dancer I must guard its healthy appearance as I care for an expensive costume or prop. For people like me with fragile, fine hair that use perms to give it volume and highlighteners to give it depth, or for people like my 'pro diver' niece that swims alot, this conditioner is a God send. Leaves hair shiny and protected from the suns rays without weighing it down. Every other product that I have tried from my hair stylist just leaves my hair oily and limp looking. Possibly because other products have a slight oil base. This spray-on conditioner will not do that. I buy it in the largest container and use it after every shampoo. Just spray it on wet hair, comb through and let it air dry, or if you wish, blow dry. Great for all hair types especially if you have damaged or dry hair. If anyone else has found a product like this one I would love to hear about it. This is the only thing that has worked for me for a decade and I live in fear of it being discontinued. Therefore I share my best hair secret with the world to maintain demand for this product.

PS. Be very careful to not to confuse Paul Mitchell's spray-on conditioner 'Seal and Shine' with Paul Mitchell's hairspray 'Freeze and Shine'. The bottles are identical save the small lettering. LOLOLO.... what a mistake I made spraying this in my hair and allowing it to dry crispy.

You will only make that mistake once. Wow, it was truly 'freeze' which was awful & funny!

I have lots of fine hair and this product help when I am blow drying to keep the fly aways in check. Not stiff, and makes my hair really shiney. Works good with a flat iron., too. I've been using it for 15 years. Hard to find in a salon though. Most don't carry it.

After reading reviews, I was expecting a great product. I have been using this product on daily basis for quite some time and I see zero results. It does. It even feel good when you put it in your hair. I'm not sure if this is not a real deal and is a knock off or may be it is grossly expired, but I'm throwing it away. I bought the iTech Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron from Seattle beauty supply Ed Wyse. I had used the product two or three times when in a sizzle of smoke it just stopped workingwhile getting ready for a wedding no less. Appliances have never shorted out in my home the years we've lived here so assumed the product was defective. Because I had the flat iron just over 30 days Ed Wyse would not take it back but instead referred me to iTech support in California. The customer service person responded disinterestedly and told me to mail it back to them with a check for $15 dollars to mail me a new product. I told the rep that after sinking nearly $200 into the product I wasn't willing to spend an extra $30 and time on another flat-iron and could they waive the shipping at least one way. The customer service person was impatient, told me it wasn't his fault and my only option was to mail them the product and the check. He couldn't wait for me to get off the phone. I called Ed Wyse corporate office to see if they could help me out in getting behind their products for a long time customer. Sorry was the reply. I threw the barely used flat iron into the trash and am going to buy the ghd from Sephora to replace it, or the T3 from Norsdtrom, the King of Customer Service. In an economy where businesses are looking for customers I will not give iTech or Ed Wyse any more of my money.

I bought this flat iron online approximately 3 years ago....this iron is AMAZING! I am looking to purchase a new one because after many falls from my dresser while using it the plate has come loose. I will say that the iron continues to work, but having to readjust the plate while it is 410 degrees is a bit much :) I have never had a problem with this iron and agree with previous customers that it makes my hair soft and SO straight. I have pretty curly hair and this iron is by far better than CHI and FHI both expensive hair straighteners.

I've owned this hair iron for 4 years, using it about 3-4 times a month. I have A LOT of thick hair, that naturally tends to curl, and I live in Miami, where it is impossibly humid ALL YEAR. This iron has worked faithfully, everytime I've used it, and it locks out humidity, so much so, that I can go 1 week before needing to wash my hair (and use the iron) again. It has not damaged my color treated hair, but, like I said before, I only use it a few times a month. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I've REALLY gotten my $$$'s worth!

We're very happy with this heat emitter. We purchased it to warmup a smaller 3w x 5h x 5deep chicken coop. Bought this to keep my Sulcata tortoises outdoor enclosure warm through winter. Installed it but woke up and saw that the temperature was at 40F! Took a look and saw the that the ceramic bulb was hanging by a wire from the base. I ripped the other wire off and took the base out with some pliers. I found another lightbulb base and soldered one wire through the top and the other on the outside and around the edge of the base making sure that the two wires couldn't touch. Once that was done I used JBweld, a two part epoxy, to glue both pieces together. Other than that it was cheap and works well.

Worked great for my 5'x5'x3' enclosure for my iguana.

I received it exactly 2 months ago today and i saw my enclosure was in the high 60's. took the heater out and it has something loose rolling around. sounds like the coils inside failed and fell apart.

But the other heaters i have, made by another company, for the other reptiles are on their 3rd and 4th years. Wont by zilla again.

We purchased this lamp to keep our hedgehog warm, and it lasted less than a month. After a few days of procrastination, we just went to look for the receipt, and low and behold! We are ONE DAY beyond the return window.

If a $40 heat lamp were to last even six months, I'd consider it reasonable (though far from a good value). This thing is junk, and apparently *known* to be junk, as evidenced by the return policy of one month.

Too bad. If it worked for a conscionable length of time, it would be a good solution for a lot of pet owners. But try to find something else. This thing is a waste of money.

I bought this because I was tired of all of the heat damage from my regular hair dryer that blew my hair all over the place. I bought this knowing that diffusing dryers spread out the heat, and this dries my hair in half the time. It doesnt leave it hard either like some other diffusing driers I've used. I would recommend this to people with delicate hair or with curly hair.

There is a High and Low setting, and a Cool button as well. The attachment is great for getting close to the scalp without burning yourself, and for adding volume.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When I ordered this, I thought I was going to be disappointed yet again as so many products claim to be for curly hair, but, I needed something other than my stand up bonnet hair dryer. Maybe this time?

Yes, time! Huzzah!

The first thing I noticed was it's heavier weight. But this is necessary to accommodate the larger area of the blow dryer "mouth". There is also a "diffuser", but actually, it acts as a curl separator, and for me, a guide so I didn't place the dryer too close to the scalp and hair.

Typical blow dryers use a small aperture of air, about 2 inches in diameter at the mouth, and you pop on the diffuser. Conair had the smarts to have a 1:1 ratio, where the diameter of the blower is equal to the diffuser. There is a greater surface of air coming out, so it doesn't get funneled. How logical is that?

As a curlygirl, I tend to need to have my hair soaking wet and have product in my hair, so when I turned the dryer on, I smelled fabulously pungent ionic air which speeds up the dying time. I don't understand the technology, so I don't know if that is something that can be used up, or wear out, but for now, it is super, and truly hope Conair built it with longevity in mind.

This is a 4+ star item after initial use. I have a learning curve on how to best use this dryer, but I am now free to travel from my house knowing I have a portable dryer that does the job. Buy this and try it for yourselves.

She used this dryer on her hair and it dried it without disrupting her natural curls and no frizz. My sister uses only sulfate free "No Poo" products on her hair, only towel/air dries to avoid frizz and she also used this dryer and now wants one of her own. I was surprised because my sister has not used a dryer in many years because she can't find one that's affordable that will only dry her hair without frizz. They were both very impressed with this dryer. I did not try it myself because my hair is straight.

Yesterday, I decided to take a trip to Target for laundry detergent and there award winning Rice Crispy treats at the cafe, (Delicious) Anyway, I decided to take a detour through the Hair care section to see what's new and check out their Flat Irons. One in particular I remembered that was highly reviewed was the Remington Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron! I promised I would treat myself to this Iron very soon because my weave clients keep demanding straight! Straight! Straight Hair! A great price at $49.99, but then I glanced right next to it and found the New Conair Infinity Oil infused Ceramic Flat Iron that reaches an astonishing 455 degrees! At $39.99 I figured I'd give it a shot. Plus I'd use the extra ten dollars for bleach and softener! That evening I tried the iron on one of my African American Client who has quite a bit of long thick fantastic bushy coarse Un-relaxed hair! I was amazed that after washing and conditioning (with Silicon Mix) I was able to run a quick pass of the Conair Iron through the client's hair and end up with silk! Super Straight, Super Hot, Super Flat and Very shiny Hair! I'm sold!

I just bought this at a local CVS because I didn't want to wait to receive mine. I love it! Works exactly like the Babyliss Nano Titanium that's over one hundred dollars! Don't listen to the people saying it burns your hair off, all straighteners damage your hair and that's what heat protection sprays are for. This product receives 5 stars from me! Also, mine came with a little bottle of Argan Oil. I'm not sure if this one does but if it does, do NOT use too much on your hair at one time, you don't want it to be greasy. 5 Stars! :)

There is a difference. It does heat up in seconds, as advertised. Also, this flat iron is 25 degrees hotter, going over 400 degrees. I would be afraid to use this without a product on my hair to protect it! It's a little smoother as it glides over my hair, and I think it flattens my wavy hair a bit faster than the first model, due to the high heat. It does seem to help with frizziness too, although its hard to tell how that compares with my older model.

All in all, I'm impressed with it. And I have to admit, I just LOVE the purple color! Recommended if you want a cool looking flat iron that gets very hot, very quickly. :)

This flat iron is a million times better than my old one by the same company! I only need one or two passes through my thick curly mixed race hair to create pure silk! My boyfriend loves playing with my hair in general, but when I use this iron he can't keep his hands off my hair and constantly compliments the softness. It was in my frugalista opinion a pretty decent deal, my friend has a CHI and frankly I think this may work a bit better at a fraction of the cost. The color is very pretty too, its a deep plum color. I saw a few comments complaining about the on/off button placement, I personally haven't had an issue with it though so I suppose its all in how you hold it. Overall, this is a great bang for your buck! Like I said, in my opinion it works better than my friend's CHI she spent over $100 for.

I have very fine and thin hair. It is very flat and has no volume. This stuff doesn't really shape my hair well, however, if I use a blow dryer first to get my hair up, then apply this, it works fine. Also, if you then blow dry your hair after you put the product in, your hair becomes extra soft and has a nice shine to it. I prefer this look.

All the PROS need a hair dryer.

The con is it that it doesn't really work by itself in putting my hair up or styling.

The stand is not like the photo shown. It is a bit larger than the one in this photo and it doesn't have holders for the largest flat iron, curling irons and straightening comb. The items preformed just as expected, however they looked as if they had been sitting in a warehouse for a while The items were all indiviudally wrapped. Some of the gold on the handles had tarnished probably from sitting the plastic for a long length of time. I will be keeping the items because I recently got my hair cut short and being able to recurl my own hair saves me from having to spend extra time and money for a weekly appointment at the salon.

The item received is not as the item pictured it is GH5050. There is no where to lay the hot curling irons. It is too large for a small bathroom. The GH5250V1 is the correct size and is what I needed for my use.
