This Conair hairdryer surprised me! Let me start at the very beginning so you can understand why...

I am an African-American woman with relatively dense natural 3C+4A hair. When stretched my hair reaches armpit length and is healthy. My hair is not thick, I just have a lot of it, and thus why I wanted something that could handle my hair AND be gentle enough to use for a blow out. Reading the reviews for this hair dryer, I was a little worried that it wouldn't do anything for my hair since I saw very few reviews from people with natural hair. However, I decided to order it anyway because I was in desperate need of a new dryer (my last one was from the mid 90s and overheated all the time).

First, let me say that the heat on this dryer gets hot very quickly. That's something I'm not use to and unnerved me at first because I was trying to avoid frying my hair. However, the medium setting was perfect for a light blow out. I sectioned my hair in to 12 parts, washed and conditioned with Queen Helene's Royal Curl conditioner and shampoo. I used Silk Elements Megasilk heat protectant and Roots of Nature Curl Reviving Spray on each section. Ladies with natural hair, detangle before you use the straightening attachment.

The manual and the instructional DVD will tell you to put the tension setting on a 4 for African-American textured hair and tight curls (the tightest it can be). Do not learn the hard way as I did: 4 ripped out my hair. Luckily, since I started with small sections as soon as I felt that grip, I gently worked my hair out and started again. This time on a 1. That's right ladies, a 1! After 3 passes over, I had a beautiful blow out that didn't revert as soon as I left the section. To make it even better, after going over my whole head on medium, I went back over each section on high and got beautiful shine and it looked like I had done a light flat iron. I may try this again on a 2 to see what happens, but my results were wonderful!

So any women looking for a nice hair dryer to do blow outs, this one is great! It even got my roots to lay flat and that was something I could never do with my old hair dryer and comb attachment! Don't sleep on this. It may look scary on the outside, but I was surprised how gentle it was to use. Also, the cool shot is great for a little bit of fluffing out before doing micro twists.

Great purchase! Thank you Amazon and Conair.

I chose this item for its size and the fact that it included a diffuser. Diffusers with full-size hair dryers are VERY cumbersome in size and I specifically wanted a smaller unit with a finger diffuser. Nearly impossible to find! This is one of very few units that was compact enough. I haven't tried the straightener that's not why I bought this dryer although it looks to be well-made also.

It's a great, manageable size and easy to use compared to my full-size dryer/diffuser. Seems to be constructed quite well a tad heavy but not unusually so. Switches don't get in the way of holding and maneuvering the dryer. Heavy duty cord is nice and long. Again, everything looks to be well-made.

Quite happy with this hair dryers are such a personal choice that it's hard to buy one online but this purchase worked out well and is pretty much just what I wanted.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have long, thick, wavy hair that has always been a challenge to style without taking a ton of products and a ton of time. Several years ago, I purchased the first generation of the Conair Infiniti with the hope that the ceramic plates would ease the frizz factor with a minimum of effort.

The Infiniti was the best blow dryer I had ever had, that dried my hair quickly, with a minimum of damage and a maximum of smoothness. I was very interested to see how the new, improved version would work.

To say I'm pleased is an understatment!

It's true, the newer version of the Infinit is slightly heavier than the old one, but to be honest, if you're used to doing just about anything to get your hair to look decent, the minimal weight gain isn't much of a deterrent.

The plates on this Infiniti version are better, smoothing out the hair follicle nicely and quicker. There's less "ouch" dragging it through your hair than the previous Infiniti; I chalk that up to the two comb feature.

The diffuser is a nice touch for the days when you don't want to go through the hassle of hair straightening. I don't use a concentrator myself, so that's not an issue for me.

I recommended the previous Conair Infiniti, and I'm happy to report the new version is an improvement on an already excellent design. I highly recommend it.

I've been looking for a dual voltage hairdryer that is both small for travel but also had a diffuser. It has taken me forever to find the perfect dryer. It was wonderful how the description and picture included the style of diffuser. I quickly got exactly what I wanted.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was very excited to try this new Conair Infiniti 224 since I do like to straighten my hair from time to time, which I usually do using my normal hair dryer and a styling brush and my hands. The description, package and manual for this product really focus on the straightening capabilities, since that is the big feature for this product. I was hopeful that the Conair 224 with straightener attachment would be easy to use and work well for me so that I could straighten my hair more often.

What I like about this product:

Nice quality, solid appliance

Attractive and stylish appearance

Versatile comes with straightener, diffuser and concentrator attachments

Two fan speed settings and 3 heat settings + a cool button to set your style

No tangles from the comb

No static the ionic feature works for me to cut down on static

It has good power and dries hair quickly

Attachments can be rotated 360 degrees (clicks in at 1/8 turn points)

Adjustable tension on the Straightener attachment comb (although I did not need it)

Long, high quality cord

Nice flip out cover on the back mesh that covers the air intake, for easy cleaning

Good manual with lots of tips on using the dryer and attachments

Other comments:

Straightening attachment does not work as well as I expected on my naturally slightly wavy hair with fine to medium texture. It was difficult to guide my hair through the comb attachment. My hair is about shoulder length (longest strands are about 12-14") and the dryer and attachment seemed to be so large and bulky that it was not easy to get the dryer and my hair oriented, even with the rotatable attachment. The appliance seemed to work okay for straightening the sides of my hair (with a lot of coaxing) but was especially difficult to use at the back of my head and some of the waves were difficult to comb out. I find that a brush with my normal dryer (or my hot air brush dryer) works better on my hair and is easier. I think the Conair 224 may work great for straightening long or very long hair.

The dryer is very bulky and hard to handle. It is awkward to put up near my head. It also takes up a lot of space to store. Although the weight makes the styler feel solid, it is really quite heavy and gets tiring to use. The diffuser attachment is huge 5" across by 4" tall, including the spikes.

I did not have any problems with inadvertently switching air flow and heat settings, even though the buttons are on the handle.

I did not perceive any increase in volume from drying my hair outward from the roots when using the Straightener as directed, as implied by the manual. (Note that I do get an increase in volume from drying my hair outward from the roots using my normal hair dryer and my fingers, as I probably would if the Conair 224 were used in normal dryer mode.) I also did not perceive any improvement in the shine of my hair. The last 3" or so of my hair seemed frizzed out (but not static-y) after using the dryer.

Overall, the Conair Infiniti 224 is a good, high quality hair dryer, but the straightening attachment just did not work well on my hair. I wish I could rate it higher than 3 to 3 ½ stars, but it just did not live up to my expectations for this mid-range appliance with straightening capabilities. If I were rating it as just a regular hair dryer and not a styler / straightener, I would give it 4 or 4 ½ stars (but then the price should be much less, if it were a regular hair dryer).

After having gone through 5+ clippers (most hand-me-down) over the past 9 years I finally purchased a set that perform professionally. These clippers are quiet; they do not scare my children; they do not pull hair. We LOVE these clippers. I cut all of the hair in my family of 6, and I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend these to anyone. The kids loved watching the instructional DVD that comes along with it and I even learned a pointer or two. I appreciate that these come in a nice case for storage. Two thumbs up!!

The set was not as bad as the service received from Electronics Warehouse so beware if you are dealing with them. I purchased these due to some of the reviews and the price of couse as normally I use the Andis Styliner Trimmers and this time was the first set of Andis clippers that I've bought, don't ask me why I waited so long. Let me state, I am a black male so obviously there is a difference of hair texture here than some of my other brothers and sisters with a finer texture of hair. However after first use, the trimmers cut well, but snag on my beard and are not sharp enough to properly outline my goatee, of which I'm very proud! The clippers also snag a bit when cutting so you have to go slower upon first pass then can cut at regular speeds. But after cutting half my head they were noticibly hot so much that I jumped when they touched my ear. They're ok, but if you have lots of heads to cut like I do, mine and 3 boys, haircutting time takes a while.

So now the good stuff and my joyous experience with this company Electronics Warehouse. Amazon is excellent in taking care of their customers yet these people should not even be in partnership due to the level of service they DON'T provide. I told them the story of the clippers and first they will try to hit you with a 15% restocking fee, IF the product has been opened. How else will you know if you like it or not dweebs! Then they tell you if you return it, you will also be hit with the "free shipping cost" that they paid up front and you have to pay the shipping to return it, which cost me another $10.20 with the lowest shipping package available. Talk about pushing someone completely away from you. I usually don't do these reviews but this one needed to be said so no one else has to waste their time, efforts, and money dealing with a subpar product and the service that the provider doesn't provide. Moral of this story is...trust your instincts.

After reading other reviews about noise and the unit getting too hot, I was a bit apprehensive. To the naysayers I can only say, "hogwash!" This thing is a piece of cake to use, there is no noise, the unit doesn't heat up (at least during my haircut). It comes with an instructional video that was quite useful if for no other reason than confidence in doing our first haircut at home. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to get a haircut, on a lazy Sunday afternoon in the comfort of my own home. My daughter gave me the haircut and it was every bit as professional as I get in the salon. Of course, I just shave the whole head with a 2 blade and I am good to go. For bucks, you can't go wrong. Please note, you do need the clipper for the haircut and the trimmer around the edges.

The trimmer pulls your hair and it does not remove all of the hair. It leaves a lot of stubble and I am not happy with the product at all.

The motors didn't work in either the clipper or trimmer in the first kit we received. After an exchange, we are thrilled so far. Both work great. Video was very helpful. One con the combs cut a bit shorter than expected in comparison to the same numbered combs at the barber or salon.

I have been using these for 7 months and have been very happy with them. I am so glad to buy a laundry-cleaning product that does not come in a plastic jug, that does not leave a soap residue on my clothing or in my washer, and that cleans our clothes efficiently!

My fiancee, who has a very labor-intensive, sweaty, chemical-laden job, reports that even his work clothes come out of the washer smelling like nothing. Which is a huge improvement over the stinky pile of clothes he tosses in there! He likes that there is no scent on the clothes after they come out of the washer (no stench, no chemicals, no flowers, no perfume, just "clean").

The little bag is very durable and stays closed in the wash (we tie the drawstring in a knot for security). They also successfully run through the dryer. We have a front loading maytag commercial quality washer and a standard maytag gas dryer.

I purchased the 2 lb. bag, and I'm excited to finish it, so I can find a new use for the bag, as well. Reusable produce bag...travel lingerie bag... toiletries bag...etc.

I put "samples" of soap nuts from my big bag, into the little bags, and give to loved ones (I usually stuff the bag for them and tell them to store them in a ziploc bag or glass jar and only use about 5 or so nuts per "use", which equals about 5 loads. This way, they can get quite a few trials of them and have some on hand while waiting for their own shipment to arrive!). They sell a three-pack of the bags on amazon.

TIP 1: we keep a make-shift dry-erase board & marker on the wall by our washing machine to tally the washings with those IIII-slash line markings, using two lines for especially heavy or dirty loads. Once the nuts in the sack are washer-spent, we erase the markings on the board, dump the nuts into a big jug (for later boiling) and refill the sack. This is much easier than trying to remember/calculate how many uses the nuts had or have left (especially when two people use the same sack at different times).

The next three tips aren't about the direct use of this specific product, but since they are eco-laundry related, and about my general use of the product, I thought I'd add them:

TIP 2: Since these nuts don't attack stains, I also purchased (from Amazon) a spray bottle of BioKleen BacOut, which I keep in my laundry room for stains and problem spots. (I keep also one on each floor, for carpet spots.) Works better than other natural stain removers I have tried.

TIP 3: I don't use fabric softener, but I do put a few drops of essential oil in the fabric softener dispenser. I like how it makes my clothes smell and I think it helps repel mosquitoes as I haven't gotten bitten since I began doing this. I used to get bit very often, and others are getting bitten more then I am now.

TIP 4: In the dryer, I use organic wool dryer balls (bought on Amazon), with some drops of pure essential oil (usually lavender or peppermint). I put the drops on the balls and then toss them in for a brief Air Fluff (no heat) to dry the oil before I put my clothes in the dryer. No icky chemical (or expensive natural) separate fabric softener needed!

Disclosure: : This review is from: NaturOli Soap Nuts / Soap Berries. 2 lbs. (320+ loads). These nuts are the same product, in a different quantity.

I rely on reviews here at Amazon to help me make informed buying choices. I hope this review has helped you in the same manner. If you voted this as helpful, I Thank You! :)

I last ordered this exact product 365 days ago. So this bag lasted my family (we have a very messy toddler) 1 year +; I have 5 nuts left. How's that for inexpensive? I'm allergic to coconut and I've yet to find a laundry detergent without coconut derivatives in it. Soap nuts keep me from having itchy, dry skin.

A couple of tips: I bought the extra 3 bags, so that I don't have to go searching for the one that accidently got placed in the dryer. For really dirty clothes, I sometimes use a second bag as a booster. When washing with cold water, I let the clothes and soap nuts sit in the water for at least an hour before I run the washer. For stains I use either Vaska peroxide bleach or Orange oil spray. If I want a little bit of smell, I add lavender oil and water to the fabric softener cup.

It feels so awesome to use such a basic product on my toddlers clothes -no lavender oil for him.

Update on 17 FEB 13:

I bought the 5 pounds of pieces last year and they lasted me about 14 months. I'm back buying the 4 lb. whole nuts, because I think the whole nuts go further than the pieces. I'm buying the extra three bags again, as they wear out after a year of hard use. I've started adding about 1/3 of a cup of baking soda to my wash to counter our hard water and that seems to have streamlined the whole process. I'm still adding lavender oil in water to the fabric softener cup. And I've found that a half hour is sufficient for soaking the clothes and nuts. Oh, and we have two kids now, and we don't use bibs. I've also used it successfully on cloth diapers. This is a great product!

Update on 22 SEP 13:

The whole nuts have not gone as far as I expected, so I'm back to buying pieces, 10 lbs. this time. Alas, there are now 3 children in the house, and the nuts get used for other cleaning projects too. The 4lbs came with 3 wash bags, which I was not expecting, so I'm flush with wash bags now. Another benefit I've discovered for the pieces is there are no nuts hidden in them. There were at least 4 nuts still in the shells of the 4 lb bag. Still think it's a great product!

I have found another coconut free laundry detergent, but is is uber pricey!!!

Best Deals on NaturOli Soap Nuts / Soap Berries. - ONE POUND - "Select" seedless

I was skeptical but hopeful when I bought the Soap Nuts. I was thrilled to continue my journey into toxic free cleaning. However, my hopes sank when I washed my husband's first load of work clothes. (He is in construction) The smell remained along with the dirt. I tried soaking the nuts in warm/hot water for 20 minutes as suggested. Poured the water and the nuts in the washer and even added borax as recommended. Still the same results with his clothes and my 3 boys' clothes. The sweat smell never seemed to really leave. I used lavender essential oils in the dryer which helped but felt it was only a cover up. I am sorely disappointed with the results and am not one to leave negative comments, but I couldn't let this go. My whites are dingy and regular stains remain even with using vinegar and other natural brighteners. Thus, I must try another "green" laundry cleaner.

Honest reviews on NaturOli Soap Nuts / Soap Berries. - ONE POUND - "Select" seedless

I ordered the soap nuts and received my order within a few days. Included was a free sample for some of their face cream that I wasn't expecting too.

This is my first experience with soap nuts, NaturOli are the only brand I've tried. I've done several loads of wash so far and the nuts still look like they can handle a few more.

The clothes really do come out of the dryer feeling soft without using any dryer sheets or fabric softener! Only down side is with it being winter here and the heater running all the time I have a SMALL static problem...not sure how to deal with that.

I would recommend these and I will be buying them again.

Originally, I was searching the internet for a recipe to make homemade laundry soap. I stumbled upon a blog that raved about these. The author even gave tips on how to get the most out of these, which I will share in a moment. I love how my clothes smell like ... well, nothing! It's great. I love how my clothes are coming out clean WITHOUT the use of toxic synthetic chemicals. I appreciate the "green" factor of this product. I have washed several loads...even super dingy ones, and expect that the odors will still be there or that my clothes won't be clean. I am grateful to have been proven wrong.

now to the tips (same person on the blog also left a review here):

1. keep a tally sheet by the washer to keep track of how many uses the nuts get out of each bag. (I use 4 nuts per "tea bag" and have used for 5+ loads)

2. Use Bac-Out to pre-treat serious stains. 1 part Bac-out to 2 parts water.

3. I use wool dryer balls with a couple drops of lavender oil... I have learned that the oil is almost pointless and could become costly.

Note: I have small children, which means that I have stinky pee clothes and pants with dirty dirty knees, yucky homemade wipes... In the past I have had to use baking soda to eliminate the odor and some kind of non-green, toxic chemical to get out the tough stains. The above regimen works. I love the soap nuts!

OK ladies and Gents... I am going to break it down for all ya'll on the best way to use this stuff. It took me a while, but I think I have figured out the process. (Excuse the poor spelling... no spell check on this thing!)

The thing is to pay attention to YOUR hair texture!! If when you wash your hair and it does not have that gorgeous "curl" and has more of a "wave", you need to ring out your hair after washing/ rinsing (towel drying creates frizz). Apply the Knot Today conditioner(they really do work well together), then section your hair into 4 quarters. Take about a dime sized amount of the KCCC and create two strand twists all over in all four sections. It's up to you to decide how many two strand twists. If you want a more defined and curled texture, make smaller. Less defined, make twists bigger. You can air dry or sit under a hood dryer. My tip here is not to make the dryer too hot. Less heat, less frizz! After your hair is dry, use your favorite oil sheen or light hair oil and un-twist if needed. I put a little oil on my finger tips when I un-twist. That way all of the locks get the same amount of oil without over doing it. Re-apply as needed here.

Now, If your hair is fine and you do get that "curl" when your hair is wet. Rinse, ring out, apply conditioner and section as stated before. Apply a dime size ammount and work KCCC through with a wide tooth comb. (regardless of your texture always use a wide tooth comb on wet hair! it stops breakage.) For finer hair types I reccomend air drying, but if you have to use a hair dryer, use a hand held one on a cool/warm setting with a diffuser on the end. This helps prevent frizz a lot!!

FOR ALL HAIR TYPES: Sleep with a satin/silk bonett at night to prevent unwanted kinks, dryness and damage caused by cotton pillow cases. In the morning, take a spray bottle and add a little KCCC Knot Today and warm water together and shake. Spray lightly to refreshen your look!

I have been natural for seven years, and products are going to work different on all of us because we are all different. Work with this one ya'll, we might actually have something great if we give it a chance!

I have the typical non-racial mixed black girl hair; Nappy and kind of rough. My co-worker exclaimed how wonderful this product this is for natural hair, and I my hair would be so curly. I went to whole foods and purchased knot today and Curling Custard together, went and applied hair products as described on the bottles. And trust me when I tell you that I looked a hot mess!

My hair was matted, still wet, and crunchy! i was so embarrassed! I had to attend a family function with a hat on. Its not for my more nappy headed sistas. I try to salvage this expensive custard by using with my curler set but it made my hair crunchy and so flaky.

I do not recommend this product unless you have hair that curls when its wet and it looks good.

Vendor is goughing the public. Price is double that of all retail sites, both online and brick and mortar stores. That said, when purchasing any hair product, our expectations must be realistic. And, you must know about your hair type. If you've have hair that shrinks when it dries, short of going back to chemical products or a weave, there isn't a product available that will prevent shrinkage. Andre Walker defines this hair type as 4

Type 4 is kinky, or very tightly curled, with a clearly visible curl pattern

Circumference: Crochet needle or even smaller

The hair is very wiry, very tightly coiled and very, very fragile

Type 4 hair can range from fine/thin to wiry/coarse with lots and lots of strands densely packed together

Type 4 hair has fewer cuticle layers than any other hair type, which means that it has less natural protection from the damage you inflict by combing, brushing, curling, blow-drying and straightening it

Type 4 hair is known to shrink up to 75% of the actual hair length

KC will work on type 4 hair, but it's a process and and drying time can be lengthy, but it can last at least a week or more. The key is to work KC throughy into the hair. This is best done in sections and using your fingers. During the application process hair needs to be wet. Keep a spray bottle handy. Wash hair(using Come Clean for heavy product build up), follow with Knot Today mosisturizer, finger combing through hair to smooth out tangels,I leave about 20 minutes, then rinse. Do not dry hair, add a small amount of Knot Today. Divide hair into four sections, apply KC to a section of the hair, finger comb and smooth hair until the hair is wavy and curls start to form. the amount of curl definition will be determined by the amount of KC used. Repeat for each section. When all sections are done, shake head to distribute hair evenly over head, mist hair if needed. Don't touch hair until dry. Toucing hair while wet will distort curl pattern. In the mornings, if needed mist hair, shake and go, otherwise just shake and go. No combing or brushing. A satin pillow case or sleep cap is a must. Sleeping on cotton dries our hair. With the exception of shampoo, I never mix KC with any other products. While I never refer to my hair as nappy(I say I have tight tiny curls), us type 4 ladies have to learn to be Happy with Nappy:)This process should work for all types. The maker of KC and most natural stylist using the product, recommend air drying.

Honest reviews on Kinky Curly Curling Custard 16 oz

The Kinky Curly product line is awesome! It does exactly what it says. The Come Clean shampoo lathers up well and smells great. My hair was clean and not stripped. The Knot Today conditioner is a great leave in conditioner! My hair is very thick. It detangled my hair with no problems. The Curling Custard is worth every penny! It goes a long way too. My hair is curly, soft, and has a nice sheen. I usually have to two-strand twist my hair for the wave pattern to keep, but with the custard I just section of my hair a pull the custard down to my ends. It waves and curls up instantly! If the weather is too cool to air dry, I use a soft bonnet dryer to dry my hair. The hair spritz has a nice hold; my hair is still soft afterward. I would recommend this product line to anyone who has natural kinky curly hair!

I bought the product because I have really frizzy, kinky type 4 hair. I have a mixture of type 4 a and b. I tried it and it did create more curl but it was very dense and kinky curls. It didn't give the type of curls you see on the website. It does leave your hair pretty dry and causes more shrinkage. Also, it's a process in application if you do have very very very kinky hair like I do. You have to have soaking wet hair and if it's not it has no effect at all. If you like the texture and look of you hair right now and you want a extra curl to itI would recommend it. However, if you thought it would transform your hair in any waythis isn't your product. It doesn't do miracles you can't have a type 4 hair go to a type 3. It want give you loose curls if you didn't have it already.

So I'm not going to lie, when I first opened the box I laughed. This dryer is TINY! When folded it's literally the size of a small clutch bag! I plugged it in and it was rather quiet and very powerful(for such a TINY dryer)!

I started to blow dry my hair straight. For the ladies that do this, you know how tired your arms can get from holding the dryer and the brush. NOT with this little baby. It literally weighs a little more than my boar bristle round brush. It dried my hair in about the same time if not a little less than my normal dryer(FHI). My hair was shiny and virtually no frizz(I live in the south where it's humid as all get out, so I always have SOME frizz). I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little dryer. I've actually started using it in place of my normal one because it's so light and small! I wouldn't see why anyone would pay more money for those name brands travel dryers when this works much better and is defiantly much smaller!!

The only con is the fact that it doesn't have a cool shot button. However they do have one that does have a cool shot button. I costs about $5 more(here on amazon), but I didn't see it until after I had already purchased this one.

I'm a hard-to-please type of customer. Initially, I was sceptical about this product, but was immediately impressed with the efficiency of this hair dryer. Its very small, light, and quiet therefore easy on the wrists and ears but works pretty much like a big 1875 watt hair dryer. I'd give this product 10 stars if allowed. I highly recommend!!! Also great for travel!

I originally bought this dryer to throw into my gym bag, and like everyone else says, it packs a punch for how small it is! I love the dual voltage, because I am able to take it with me on trips abroad. Also, it folds up really nicely, and it actually works better than the full-size dryer I use everyday! Maybe a bit pricey, but worth the cost! This thing is sturdy, and it's lasted me quite a while.

As others have said here, this tiny little dryer is amazingly powerful, but more important it's a real travel dryer. Unlike so many other so-called travel dryers, ALL the function settings on this dryer work overseas EXACTLY as they do in the US. It's the smallest travel dryer I've ever seen, taking up just a little more space than a soup can when folded up (see the picture I posted), weighs only 10.5 ounces, and sports a 60-in cord (yes, 5 feet!) for reaching the not-always-convenient plug locations found in overseas hotels, B&Bs, apartments, etc.

Buyer beware don't assume the travel dryer you bought will work overseas the same way it does when you tested it a home there's a good chance it won't. There are plenty of "travel" dryers sold in the States that when the voltage selector is placed in the 220V position for overseas use, it disables the high-speed/heat setting. I learned this the hard way when I got to France and discovered that my new "travel dryer" only worked on the low-speed/heat setting.

This BaByliss Pro travel dryer has two settings, and I can vouch that they both work on the 220V setting. Let me clarify the "2 heat/speed" settings on this dryer that another reviewer considers false advertising. The heat and speed settings are not independent of each other; that is, the high air speed setting is the hot temperature, and the low air speed setting is the warm temperature. This is exactly how it's explained in the product manual, so I don't consider it false advertising, but I do understand the confusion. In this case 2+2 does not equal 4. I have posted a picture of the dryer and the switch that controls the two settings:

1) HIGH = Faster air speed + HOT temperature

2) LOW = Slower air speed + WARM temperature (but definitely not cool)

If you're looking for a travel dryer with a "hot shot," "cool shot," or other specialty or interchangeable settings, I doubt you'll ever find them (that actually function overseas) on a "travel" dryer sold here in the States. Better to buy one with all the features you want at your overseas destination, but expect to pay a lot more money for it.

For me, this delightful little dynamo does everything it says it will, and works perfectly both at home and abroad.

My $200 T-3 tourmaline dryer started smoking and was ready to catch on fire (not the dryer's fault; it's been great for 4 years...the airline damaged it). BUT, like everyone else, I'm cutting expenses these days and I'm just not willing to pay $200 for another blow dryer. After reading the reviews on this little Babyliss, I decided to give it a try, and I am BLOWN AWAY!!! My hair is naturally curly, I color it, and it is very fine and fragile. A regular blow dryer just fries it beyond belief; I HAVE to use a tourmaline. This Babyliss dries my hair even faster than the T-3 did, with NO DAMAGE and NO FRIZZ. Plus, it is much smaller and lighter and easier to use. The color is cool and the texture of the plastic makes it easy to grip. I cannot say enough about this little gem!! As you can see by the title of my review, I'm ordering a second one to have as a backup because I'm so afraid they'll stop making it and I won't be able to get another one if something eventually goes wrong with this one. (That's always my luck; as soon as I find the perfect product they stop making it!!) I am an extremely picky consumer; if I'm going to pay good hard earned money for something, it has to be WORTH IT...and this dryer is!!!!!

It's just what I was looking for! I had purchased one of these files at a local craft fair & loved it! But then it broke & I wanted to find another one just like it this is the same size glass file. I love it! Took a long time to come in the mail, it shipped from China, but other than that the product & seller are great.
