My husband bought this as a Christmas gift for me (ok..so I may have emailed him the exact link but that's besides the point) and I am very, very pleased with how it performs. I always looked at drying my hair as a tedious chore but now I almost look forward to that part of my day, given the fact that my hair ends up looking so nice by the time I am through wielding this little baby.

PROS:

HEAT-

This sucker gets hot! It has multiple temperature settings but I usually leave it on the hottest setting. The fact that it can get so hot helps cut down the drying time significantly and it adds a nice shine to your hair (just be careful not to hold it in one spot for too long...ouch!). There is also a cold-air button that instantly blows out cold air (admittedly, a feature that most dryers have..but this is an instant temperature change and the air is COLD).

POWER-

This dyer is extremely powerful..noticeably more so than any dryer I've ever owned. I couldn't believe how quickly it dried my hair the first time I tried it out.

QUIETER THAN MOST DRYERS-

One thing I noticed right away is how quiet the dryer is. In fact, I didn't think I had it on the highest setting because I was so used to my last dyer being a roaring machine. Turned out, it really is that quiet!

ATTACHMENTS-

Both attachments are really nice..particularly the gold nozzle attachment. It concentrates the air stream and really helps to smooth any frizzies you may have. Note..this attachment gets extremely hot so do NOT touch it with your bare hands right after use. The other attachment is a similar concentrator nozzle but it's black plastic and does not get quite as hot.

CONS:

PRICE-

This dryer is decidedly pricey..although I think if you search around, you can find it for less than $75 and I think it's worth it.

WEIGHT-

The fact that this dryer is powerful and well constructed also means that it is pretty heavy. But I have severe back problems and this dryer isn't so heavy that it's uncomfortable for me to use.

Love the product...but *Caution* When I received the product from Amazon, it was the wrong (and cheaper) model dryer in the right packaging. I eventually received the correct model but thought it was rather deceptive of Amazon to do this switch.

This is the first time I ordered from BeautySak and I will say how pleased I am with this company. I had called several times with questions and their customer service representatives were very caring and answered all my concerns. The package was delivered ahead of schedule and in excellent condition. They also add sample items which is a nice touch! If you want a great blow dryer that will last, the Super Solano Hair Dryer is the one for you. It out performs all other blow dryers that I have tried in the past and wasted not only my money but my time. Thank you BeautySak from a very satisfied customer. I will definitely be ordering from this company again.

Updated review...Motor burned out after 15 months....Very disappointed for such a high priced blow dryer.

I'm obsessed with blow dryers and this one is awesome. It's the best professional dryer on the market. It dries my hair straight without drying it out, in minutes. Just awesome.

A great product for anyone who uses a hairdryer for consistent and extended periods of time. Also, wonderful for people who have hair that is difficult to straighten. The motor is more powerful than the average over the counter hairdryer and the air is much hotter than the average hair dryer. Due to it's power and air temp, this product makes hair drying and styling much quicker and easier than using a typical hairdryer. A bit pricey, but totally worth it!

I was looking for a compact travel dryer to keep at work for those days when I have to leave the house before my hair is completely dry. Torn between this and a dual voltage/international dryer, I went with the Revlon based on my positive experiences with their products in the past. Great decision! When I opened the box, I got quite the pleasant surprise--this dryer has a dual voltage switch (it can operate on US-standard 110V or 220V systems, which you find in most of Europe and throughout the world). I hadn't seen anything about this feature on the product page, so I wanted to get the word out for anyone considering this dryer. It's powerful for a compact/travel dryer with 1875W and it dries my heavy hair impressively quickly. This dryer has suited my needs perfectly; I highly recommend it!!

The day I started using this hairdryer, I got compliments on how good my hair looked no joke! People asked me if I'd gotten a haircut and I had to tell them no, just a new hairdryer. It's a powerful machine for how small and compact it is. It folds up nicely to fit easily in a gym bag, suitcase or small bathroom drawer. The cord doesn't retract, which is good in my opinion my last hairdryer almost started a fire when the retracting cord frayed and sparked. I'll update if anything goes wrong with this dryer, but I've been using for about 2 months now with no problems. Highly recommend it for the price, value and functionality!

I purchased this for my sister, who has long, naturally curly and somewhat frizzy hair. She also has cerebral palsy so needed a dryer that was lightweight. This one fit the bill; she loved it on the first use. Her hair was smooth & shiny and the dryer works great. A great value!

This is a good hair dryer. It worked properly in europe. It is compact and light weight to carry. I would definitely recommend it.

Ever since I got this dryer I noticed the handle got REALLY hot. Ive had it for about 3 months now, and one spot on the handle is so hot I couldn't even hold it properly.

Today, I was using it and all of a sudden black plumes of smoke started coming out of the handle, it was like the monster on Lost coming out of this dryer. Then it started sparking and died. This is a products liability lawsuit waiting to happen. This thing is down right dangerous, and a complete waste of .

What kind of crap is Revlon making???

I have tried several different brushes over time, and no brush works as well as this one. It works great with my hair (long, thick, wavy) and I appreciate the boar and nylon bristles. I highly recommend this brush.

I've had this brush for 5 months now and it was really nice except a third of the ball tips on the white plastic bristles have fallen off. Now it hurts my scalp to use this brush because of the plastic edges.

Best Deals on Conair Mega Ceramic Hair Brush, Porcupine Cushion

I have had this brush for over a year and it is a great brush. I have fine but plentiful, long, straight hair and it does a great job on my hair. The only problem I have with this brush is that both of my daughters really like it also and it is annoying to have to track it down. One of my daughters has medium length, fine, curly hair and the other has long, thick, medium course hair and it is everyone's favorite brush. It has been used a lot considering 3 people are all using it and there is only one ball missing off the porcupine bristles. We don't use it on wet hair however, and maybe that is the difference between our experience and the other reviewers.

UPDATE: I bought one of these brushed for each of my daughters for Christmas, so now we have 3 of them and all of them are holding up just fine. The tips are not falling off the white bristles. It really makes me wonder if the people having this problem are using an overly rough, damaging technique to brush their hair, BESIDES brushing it wet, which it very bad for it.

Honest reviews on Conair Mega Ceramic Hair Brush, Porcupine Cushion

My husband loves the handle and the basic style of the brush. After a year, however, the plastic tips started falling off white bristles. The remaining ends hurt his head. So I bought another of the same brush. The new one started to lose its tips after only a month or two. Now we're in search of a similar style hairbrush that is better-made.

This is the perfect size for traveling and works pretty well for it's size. My husband and I went to Italy and wanted to carry on all of our luggage, so I needed something that wouldn't take up space. The case doubles as a heat protective mat, so not only could you set it down on anything, but you could wrap it up and pack it while it was still hot. It heats up fast and the dual voltage is perfect for traveling anywhere. It takes a little longer to straighten my hair than with my regular sized one, but was perfect for the trip.

The size is great for travel, and it works well with all European outlets never had an electrical problem unlike people I traveled with that brought regular appliances.

BUT.. as other reviews have stated, the iron really doesn't get that hot.

I didn't think this would be an issue because I have VERY thin hair, but the combination of low heat and small size ended up being an annoyance that I didn't want to afford while traveling.

The item itself did not feel cheaply made, was easy to handle, and came with a convenient heat protection pouch. But, I wish I would have gone with a different product.

Definitely works very well for travel, but because of the small size just beware it will take you a bit longer to straighten all of your hair if you have a lot like me. I was able to straighten and curl with it, love that it comes with the case as well.

Honest reviews on Baby Croc Mini Flat Iron

This little iron was wonderful on a trip to Italy. It is dual voltage so to use I only needed the plug converter. Not my Chi straightener but with the limits on luggage weight this will be going on many trips with me. The heat proof case was very useful too. No packing delay in the mornings.

I needed a flat iron that was dual voltage that didn't take up too much room in my luggage & didn't cost a fortune. While this doesn't heat up as fast or as much as my CHI, it worked on my week long trip to Spain like a champ. Only had to buy a plug converter that worked with all of my other dual voltage apliances. Yeah!

Overall this flat iron is pretty good. My hair is smooth and shiny. It pulls on the ends of my hair if I'm not careful though. The thing I HATE about it is the hard as a rock handle with the weird design in it. It's giving me a callus on my thumb! It hurts and it's not cute! So, I think the handle needs improvement for sure! I would recommend, but maybe wear a glove when using!

This straightener is horrible! My hair constantly gets caught in this thing and there is no indication when it is ready to use. It doesn't straighten as well as other straighteners I owned did.

Received my styler last week. Used it a couple times already. I like it, but it pulls my hair. I used Herstyler/Colorful Seasons before and not once has it pulled my hair. So I am a little disappointed. But, oh well. If you have more money, go with a better one.

Honest reviews on Herstyler Classic Forever Ceramic Flat Iron

Hopefully you found this product here before you bought it in the mall!

I walked by a kiosk where people were demonstrating this product and was very impressed. They let me use the straightener to prove they didn't have a "magic method", and it worked very well on my hair. I was unwilling to pay the $120 price tag, however!

I quickly ran a search on the product and found it here for much less. It is worth it, especially if you are considering spending $40 on a lesser model in a store. The product is easy to use, and comes backed in a nice little drawstring bag for transport.

Straighteners, oddly, can also be used to curl. If you place it in your hair as if you are straighting, turn it 1.25 turns towards your head, and pull straight out, a curl should pop out at the end (or at least with a little twist-prompting). I found it easy to do these curls with this product IF I take my time, and separate an even, not tangled strip. I can't do the quick and dirty type curling I do with a normal curler, but if I take the time to do it with this, the curls are bouncier and more natural looking.

I love my straightener, and am so glad I spent the money on it.

I recommend this flat iron to ANYONE who wants to save money going to the shop. I'm an african american woman with german ancestry. My hair is fairly long and when it's wet it's curly and VERY soft and it's naturally sandy blonde (so it can get dry from time to time)when I blow dry it, it gets fairly straight but with the flat iron I can curl AND straighten in 30min. Sometimes 20min but the thing that gets me is I lay on my hair at night and the next day it's STILL nice!!!! very bouncy and NO frizzies and no dryness it leaves a nice sheen to my hair all I do is spray a VERY VERY VERY light oil sheen to my hair to add a very nice sheen to it EVERYONE thinks I go to the shop but I save about $110 a month this is how I do my hair:

* I wash with Dove shampoo (after trying NUMEROUS shampoos and conditioners this brand works PERFECT with my hair leaving it SO SOFT)

* I condition with Dove shampoo and comb it thru with a big tooth comb and then rinse it out

* I use either Dove leave in conditioner spray OR Panteen light leave in conditioner spray to add moisture to my hair

* I then blow dry it straight

* Then my favorite part I use my herstyler flat irons...My husband LOOOOOOVES the way I do my hair and I didn't spend a heap of money at the salon. My girlfriend paid $120 for two of them but I got mines here on ebay for 1/2 that price...I LOVE THEM!

Very very disappointed in this product, and I have such high hopes too! When I got them they felt so rough and coarse, nothing like how any of my other extensions have ever felt. I dyed them once, because they sent the wrong color and after dying them there is NO WAY I can be caught dead with them in my hair. They tangle like crazy even though I put morraccan oil and deep conditioned them. I'll stick with extensions from Sally's next time. Not worth the money.

Overall I really like this conditioner. My hair is relaxed and dry and I was attracted to it because it is sulfate free. The first time I used the conditioner, I was planning on leaving it in for a while because I wanted to deep condition. However, after about 5 minutes my scalp started to burn from the mint, so I had to rinse it out. However, when I used it after that first time and left the conditioner in a for a few minutes it no longer burns. I am not sure if I am used to it or if I simply have been rinsing it out after just a short period of time. It makes my hair soft and full. I recommend it to anybody with dry hair. I love the smell but it just may not be the best product to deep condition with.

I use this the most in my conditioner rotation. I don't shampoo daily (but when I do, it's with the EverStrong Shampoo). For curly hair, I use conditioner daily and scrub it in as if it were shampoo. I have excellent results with this product, as does my husband (he also has curly hair and until now, complains that conditioning products cause his hair to go flat). No flatness with this product. Light. Easy. I use it as a leave-in, also. Can use it daily. Slightly pricey, but worth it, as it only takes a small amount. Smells great, too! Bonus!!!!!!!

L'Oreal -please do not take this product off the market. I absolutely love this product and it has completely transformed my dry, brittle hair into soft, silky, moisturized hair. My hair was damaged -chemically processed and flat ironed daily! Now when I comb my hair, I do not experience any breakage. My hair is super-moisturized and softer than I can describe. I can't stop touching my hair throughout the day because it feels so amazing. I am absolutely shocked that a hair product that I purchased in a grocery store was able to outperform my expensive, high-end salon hair products. I actually stopped using my $25 bottle of designer hair conditioner in favor of this product.

Honest reviews on L'oreal LOreal Hair Expertise LOreal Everstrong Hydrate Hair

I was a classic too-manly-for-hair-care male until I recently resolved (out of either vanity or self-respect, or maybe both) to start attending more carefully to my health/appearance/grooming. Hair is, of course, at the front line of that battle, so I interrogated some professional hair people and did some Internet browsing and learned that hair care is only partly a matter of what products you use. Healthy hair is also the result of things like drinking water and eating right and avoiding excessive sun or heat. Hair is, in fact, the most reliable indicator of whether a person is healthy. (See the Wikipedia page on "hair care," for starters.) And I learned that when it comes to hair products, I should look for ones that say "hydrating." (This as opposed to "moisturizing," which merely gives the appearance of hydration.) That's because hydrated hair is pretty much what healthy hair *is.*

I then spent a decent (if not ridiculous) amount of time browsing Amazon's hydrating hair products and reading the reviews, and then I experimented with 5 different, relatively inexpensive products.

The bottom line is that none of the 5 products are magical but I have noticed a mild to moderate improvement in shine, darkness, and thickness. (If you have recommendations for a near-magical product, I'm counting on you to let me know.) Given what I've seen from the different products, I will probably settle into a routine of using a small amount of the Frieda shampoo and conditioner daily, and then using an overnight treatment maybe once a month (but probably not the L'Oreal one).

That doesn't mean I recommend (or don't) any of these products for you. Another thing I learned while researching hair is that we are all unique little flowers with very different filaments on our noggins that respond differently to different things. So rather than recommending a particular product, I recommend that you do some trials and see what works for you.

Below is a detailed review of each product.

* L'Oreal EverStrong Conditioner (My rating: 3.2 stars) (Current price: $0.66/ounce) This seems to have the same effect as the Frieda conditioner (see below), except that it makes my hair even slightly more helmet-y. Also, it has an initially-strong scent that faintly lingers in my hair all day, even when I only use a dime-sized amount. It's a smell that I would describe as endurable but not pleasant.

* John Frieda Frizz-Ease Shampoo (4.3 stars) ($0.60/ounce) It works noticeably better than my old shampoo (Aussie Smooth). With this shampoo, my hair stays wet after a shower about 40% longer and it retains a subtle moisture all day. After a shower, when I comb my wet hair, I can hardly even feel it because there is so little resistance against the comb. In other words, my hair becomes a weird combination of wet and airy. The shampoo seems to work best when I leave it in for a minute or two before rinsing. I only need to use about a nickel-sized amount (I have medium-to-shaggy hair). It has a scent that is a little too much like a household cleaning product, but it's a faint smell and goes away after the shower.

* John Frieda Frizz-Ease Conditioner (3.8 stars) ($0.54/ounce) If the shampoo does most of the moisturizing "work," then the conditioner seems kind of like the sealant to lock it in and protect it all day, and to make your hair more "manageable." This conditioner does that job well enough but I only use a little bit of it because it makes my hair a little too helmet-y for my liking. Maybe you like that from a conditioner--I don't. I prefer that my hair move in the breeze. This conditioner would probably have a more desirable effect for people with long (at least shoulder-length) hair. As for the scent, I would describe it as "neutral."

* Paul Mitchell leave-in conditioner (3.0 stars) ($1.03/ounce) My second-biggest complaint with this product is that it is sort of annoying to apply after the shower, you have to dab a few blotches of it onto your damp hair and then brush it through. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't seem to be doing anything beyond what the other conditioners do. It works well enough and makes my hair nice and dark and helmet-y but so do the other conditioners. Plus, I don't think it's doing much to make my hair healthier because you only apply it to the end of the hair and not to the scalp. That means it also requires a good amount of the blue gel to work it through all of your hair.

* L'Oreal EverStrong Overnight Treatment (2.5 stars) ($1.76/ounce) I have only used it a few times but haven't noticed anything magical. You apply it to dry hair at night, work it through the ends, and then sleep with your hair in a mildly goopy state. I didn't check carefully, but I would be surprised if your hair doesn't leave a mark on your pillowcase. And it takes a lot of goop, even for a guy with reasonably short hair like me. Maybe it would be worth it if it gave my hair a brilliant luster or thickness, but it doesn't seem to do much at all, at least not above what the shampoo and conditioner are already doing. I am unlikely to get it again.

---

P.S. Many of these same products are probably available at your local Wal-Mart (or whatever), and probably for a 10-25% lower price.

P.P.S. A couple years ago, I experimented with using no hair products at all... for months. I had read some caveman-y theories about how hair products damage our hair because they crowd out the natural moisturizing chemicals and blah blah. All I can say is that it didn't work for me. It's true that my hair during those months was surprisingly less nappy and gross than I expected, and it's maybe even true that the artificial chemicals we put on our scalps have some serious, unwelcome consequences, but all I can say is that I much prefer how my hair looks and feels after it's been shampooed, to the point that I'm willing to take whatever risks those chemicals may pose.

I absolutely love this product! I had a sample of the shampoo, conditioner, and overnight repair treatment. I could not believe the results. I rushed out to buy it. I am African-American and had a problem with the texture of my hair. After perms, it would feel brittle and look dry. I don't use grease because it clogs the pores; however, when I use these products, my hair looks awesome. And the fragrance smells so good. I live by this product now. I plan to purchase my next set at Amazon because the savings increase with subscription. Good job Loreal. Finally, a company that caters to the African-American community as well!
