First, I'm a thirtysomething african american mom who has chemically treated (relaxed/dyed) hair...I wanted the convenience of using a powerful hair blow dryer to help me save time when washing/drying my hair.

Reason purchased: I could've went and bought any blow dryer on the market, but I wanted one that was strong enough to dry even the coarsest hair. I also wanted one with the ionic/ceramic technology so that it wouldn't damage my hair and make it look dry. And I'm glad that I found it!

Time: This dryer puts out incredible speed, and heat..so it's truly saved me time drying my hair...and in the process it's made it shiny and lustrous.

Hair condition: It's truly made my hair shiny and lustrous. I have relaxed hair I use oil and setting lotion when drying my hair, and unlike other cheap hair dryers, it kept the oil and moisture infused in every single strand. It doesn't feel dry at all, which is amazing considering how hot it gets. I believe this is due to the ionic and ceramic properties of the dryer.

Speed: Has two speeds...the lowest speed is fine for my needs, but the fast speed is even faster! I love the speed. I had other items sitting on the countertop in my bathroom, and it blew them on the floor...it doesn't play around.

Heat: It two heat settings and cold: I use the hottest setting. It gets my relaxed hair/new growth bone straight. It doesn't need time to warm-up...it gets straight to the point and heats up within 2-3 seconds.

Price: Right now, this is the only item on Amazon.com of its kind (with ionic and ceramic feature). But I did a lot of research on the internet, and it was priced much higher on other sites so I chose to purchase on Amazon.com

Weight: This dryer is extremely light...even given how powerful it is. I must say that I didn't expect it to be that light. On comparison, my arms hurt more roller setting my hair, than it did blow drying section by section.

Design: When blow drying it is incredibly easy to manuever and extremely lightweight. It is very stylish...I can't wait to show it off to family and friends.

Cons: I can't think of any.

Overall: My arms didn't hurt while drying each section (big plus), my hair is shiny, and straight, and I felt good about the whole thing because it's an ionic/ceramic dryer that isn't too damaging to my hair...so I give this dryer a A++++++ all the way! This is my best purchase this year!

I haven't been getting a relaxer for a while and whenever I would go get my hair wash by a Dominican style salon they would use the same blow dryer. I took a peek at the brand title and googled it... Of course Amazon had it, the rest history.. This blow dryer is amazing. Straighten all my roots. Make sure to go with a tourmaline ionic brush(ceramic) one small one large/medium.

I tried this hair dryer and it works well. My hair stylist who does the most amazing blow drying and flat ironing, uses this, only hers is couple hundred watts less power; an older much used model! It is easy to handle and the two nozzles are great. The first time I tried it, I burnt my neck and fingers but only because I was not good at blow drying... I did a tutorial with my stylist and now, when I put morroccon oil in my hair as she does, and blow dry it, using a metallic brush, my hair comes out almost as good as what she does!!! It is amazing. Anyone looking to get a hair dryer or do salon quality hair at home, try this. It's all about technique and good equipment, this dryer will get you half way there. If you know how to blow dry already, you'll have smooth shining hair whenever you want it! Good luck!

I just received this hair dryer and have used it 2 or 3 times and I love it!! I had a T3 Tourmaline ionic hair dryer prior to this one and after several years, it broke. The T3 gets the best reviews, but this Elchim blows it away! The T3 made got extremely hot and really dried out my hair. When I use the Elchim, it makes my hair smooth and straight and silky. It does cut drying time down compared to non-ionic hair dryers as well. In fact, it cuts the drying time down a lot. The only draw back is that it is a bit heavier than the featherweight T3, however, it is still lighter than most good hair dryers. It is also less expensive than the T3. I wish I had bought this Elchim earlier. I highly recommend it.

What you have heard about the Elchim continuous ion system is not hype-its FOR REAL. I love my hair now. It dries so much faster, shinier, and silkier. I have been using Professional Hair Dryers forever, and I have to say this one is incredible. I have so much hair, even with other professional hair dryers it would take me more than an hour to get it dry. This one makes it so easy and fast! In less than half an hour I have dry hair that is not only soft but shiny! And best of all I have seen a big improvement in my hair, the drying technology avoids getting split ends. So I definitely recommend it!

After about a month of use, mine started to overheat and shut off midway through drying my hair. After 5 or so minutes it cools enough and will turn back on, but shuts off again shortly thereafter.

I've had two of these and they both did the same thing. It's disappointing because otherwise they dry hair well!

It works very well. I have really long and thick hair and only one other I have found worked to dry my hair quick the rest took forever. I love this dryer it dries very quick and givest me volume and doesn't suck my hair at the end of the dryer. And it is very cute.

I purchased this dryer about 6 months ago. It worked well for that length of time. Then, all of a sudden, it did not work. A short burning smell and then 'poof'. Nothing. I tried resetting the over-ride switch on the end of the cord, tried a different outlet, let it cool off. Still nothing. A shame. I did like the design. At least I was only out about $20 bucks.

It came without the accessories pictured & when I called Herstyler about the issue, not only were they terribly rude, they also informed me that they covered nothing since it was bought thru Amazon. I sent it back~~disgusted & bought a cheap $20.00 one from Revelon & it's the best one I've had. I am not sure that this is even a true Herstyler~~~It weighed a ton & the Revelon is as light as a feather. Thank goodness I was able to return it!

I really like this hair dryer. For the $$ its prob the best you can get for the power. My only issue is that when you turn it on it has a chemical smell... im hoping its just because i've only had it a month... But still, it's a little gross. No one wants chemical smell on their hair.

I received this as a gift and am loving it but, the first time I used it was in the bed and ohhhhhhh my. This thing sounds like a hovercraft. My husband woke up an looked to see what I was doing. I can't seem to get the cool to work either. Compared to my hooded dryer this is a great alternative. Not so sure about use in bed but definitely will travel.

The Revlon soft bonnet hair dryer is what I was looking for. Since I am letting my hair grow out some, I need to roll my hair it is a pain but has a benefit as well I get a little down time. The bonnet is large enough and the air seems to circulate pretty well. It does what I need it to do.

I've had two of these over the past few months, for cutting hair at home. My first Select Cut replaced a Vidal Sassoon cordless clipper I owned for about 5 years. Cuts with the Vidal Sassoon clipper started becomming uneven, so I began my search for a new pair of clippers. I decided on the Andis Select Cut after doing some research. After receiving it, I was pleased with what seemed like a good-quality clipper...it was solid. Turning it on, you could hear and feel the power. But as soon as my wife started into my hair with it, it snagged and pulled hair right out of my scalp. Excruciating to say the least. I don't have a whole lot of hair to begin with, so I was pretty disappointed. I tried cleaning it and oiling the blades, but it didn't do any good. I contacted Andis and they told me something must be wrong with the clippers and to have it serviced. Well, I decided instead to return it and exchange it for another. The second one pulled hair less, but it still pulled, pulling my hair, as well as my son's, whose hair is thicker than mine. I tried cleaning it, adjusting the blades, oiling it, all to no avail. I'm giving up on this clipper and I guess I'll try to sell it. I'll probably try a Wahl next.

Just used the other day and these clippers are good. Much better than the garbage available at Target and Walmart. Even the attachment guides have metal clips on them to ensure long life. If it came with a case instead of a tray I would have no complaints. Quietest clippers I have used so far and feels like a quality american product.

I bought these to trim my Pomeranian. Her hair is so thick it would immediately stop the old Wahl hair trimmers you buy at Wal-Mart. These Andis cut her hair like a hot knife through butter. They also make less noise so they don't scare my dog so much. I will never regret buying them. I LOVE THESE TRIMMERS.

Update of my review: 2013 I can say that this hairdryer is excellent, I've had it for 3 years now and it always works perfectly, when it gets too hot, it turns off by it self.

And now I bought a hair iron from the same brand and I can say that it's working as well as my hair dryer. I have to say that when I saw the brand on the box of the hair iron, I bought it with my eyes closed.

This product is okay. I purchased it for a trip to Europe & haven't had a chance to try it there yet. I've been using it here to see how it will handle. I had a hard time finding a diffuser to fit it & the one I finally bought, Conair Pro Universal, fits but pops off during drying. Also, even though it is labeled for 1900 watts, it feels a lot cooler than my 1875 watt dryer I currently have. I hope I am not disappointed when I go on my trip & use the Euro setting.

I was extremely disappointed after purchasing this product. When I attempted to use it overseas on a recent trip, the plug would not fit in two different adapters I tried to plug it into the socket. I couldn't use it once on my 3 week trip. Additionally, in using it in the US, when it was on 110/120 voltage setting, I could only get the hair dryer to work on low setting. Also, there are only 2 settings on the hair dryer I received, not four as advertised or as it says on the box even. Very disappointed it didn't work when I needed it. Wouldn't recommend.
