My hair is curly and about 16 inches long and dry my hair straight with this in about 20 minutes. It's strong and gets REALLY hot. My hair hasn't suffered any damage. I use it with the concentrator that came with it and it's nice that it doesn't fall off easily like often happens with other dryers. The back cover for the air intake is removable which makes cleaning the lint build-up easy. I use cold air to set when I'm done and often dryers take a while to cool off, but this one cools down quickly. Every minute counts as I have a lot of little ones to take care of.

On a side note, in a moment of desperation, I used it to dry the microfiber insert for my daughter's cloth diaper (which would have taken forever in the clothes dryer). In about 5 minutes, it was done. Probably not a recommended use for it, but it saved me that day :)

Bought about 5 years ago and still going strong. Highly recommend!

I love this stuff. I have curly hair, which tends to be a bit dry at times and since using this I have seen a noticeable difference. My hair feels healthier, and doesn't frizz up as much anymore. I think it's well worth trying. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try. I have tried a lot of different products and so far this is one I have purchased more than once because it actually does what it claims to do.

As a strong supporter of flat hair, I've tried every flat iron out there. From the Hot Tools wide plate, to the Chi, the Paul Brown iron and all the irons at the kiosks, this by far is the best. Right before this iron, I actually had the Croc, which I thought was the best until it broke and it left me searching for the next best thing, when I found this one through my hair stylist. The iron gets super hot in seconds, and you can adjust the temperature. I have super thick hair and was able to cut down the time required to straighten my hair. And it doesn't rip or pull my hair, which others did. I don't have to go through the same strand repeatedly with this iron. It's very easy to use and you just must get it.

So my Kyoseki flat irons finally died on me after 3 yrs (1st pair died after 1 yr!), and I needed something QUICK! I almost bought a $50 Remington, but being unfamiliar with them I fenced it a while, then I found this! I found this one a year ago for $250, so it was definitely on my wish list a long time. I read poor reviews about their customer service, however, I am assuming that Amazon shall do the job if these fail miserably. I tried them for the 1st time last night, and they get HOT! The tip truly does stay cool (not even warm!). I have to get used to the wider plates, but I have quite long hair, so it cuts styling time down. They don't heat up as fast as my Kyoseki irons, but it still is pretty rapid. I do not like, though, how it is hard to tell what temp I have it set on, as there is no clear marker for temp. I just guesstimate starting from end to end, and measuring equal distances (I like equations lol). Overall, my first use went well. I'm not in love yet, but hopefully in 3 years (or more!) I will be looking for another Arrojo and not something else.

NOTE ON MY HAIR TYPE: I'm of several races, and my hair type is hard to put a finger on. It's thick, yes. Naturally curly. I can NOT blow-dry my hair straight (unless I use oil and take it inch by inch).

I love this flat iron. My hair stylist has one and I liked it so much that I found one online and bought it for WAY less than he was selling it for. I have owned three other flat irons from well-known brands and I've never been happy with any of them. They NEVER straightened, flattened or smoothed the way this product does.

The Izunami Arrojo flat iron does everything it claims and more. And, it truly does have even heating ALL the way through. I've finally found a straightener that I LOVE!

I've always been one to buy straighteners at the drugstore. Which, of course, means I've gone through many, many straighteners. The last time I had a blowout, my stylist used this. There was no pulling or tugging it effortlessly straightened my hair. She highly recommended it and even told me to order it through Amazon.

And just in case you think it only works in a trained hairdresser's hands...I used it the morning after I got it (and every morning since) and it's the easiest time I've ever had straightening my hair. It's smooth, not dried out, and most importantly, STRAIGHT!

This is a fairly decent flat iron. It leaves my hair with a nice healthy sheen/shine and gets my thick hair very straight

(with multiple passes however). I actually like this flat iron better than the original Izunami ITC450. Another pro is the clear hard plastic case it comes with for when you're on the go right after flat ironing your hair.

I think I have tried every hairspray on the market for many years. My hair is shoulder length, fine and very straight, therefore FLAT! I absolutely love this one because it holds the hair in place without making it look funny, and doesn't feel stiff. Frankly, this is the only 1 1/2" barrel curling brush on the market from what I could find, so it's lucky it's pretty good quality. The barrel heats up to a nice, but not hair-scorching temperature and it heats fairly quickly. The plastic tip stays cool enough to touch, so styling is simple and the bristles are close enough together to make curling even my baby-fine locks possible.

The only major problem is what I consider a design flaw: the joint between the barrel and the handle isn't covered, which means if you're not extremely careful to keep your hair toward the tip of the barrel, it'll get caught--and it's painful. I invariably lose a few valuable strands a day, no matter how I try to prevent it.

This curling iron has been the best hair utility item I have ever owned. I have purchased it over the past 10 years about 4 different times. It's not because the iron goes out or stops working its because I've left it somewhere during travel or for some other reason that wasn't the iron's fault. It is WONDERFUL for straight hair to give lift and volume at the roots and to give soft turn up or down at the tips. Your hair never looks like an iron has touched it totally natural results. Excellent heating element, never quits, lasts forever, a must have for straight hair. Only 2 downfalls 1. it's nearly impossible to find at stores and I have to always order it online. 2. it would be nice if there was an auto-shut off timer that turned the iron off after an hour or so of no use. (In case I walk out the door and accidentally leave it on.) Otherwise this iron is the BEST!

The other reviews I read are mostly accurate. The curler does not overheat (it keeps me from burning my hair...). The tip does overheat. My daughter and I bought this curler because you cannot find this size in retail stores (we have looked and looked), but we have to be very careful with the hot tip. It does not get as hot as the iron itself, but you cannot touch it for more that a second or two at a time if you don't want burned fingertips! My daughter and I have each had a Helen of Troy for some time and they have lasted through several years of daily usage. BUT...although we are keeping the Helen of Troys for back up, we are about to order another model we found from Conair---the same size but with a cool tip and auto shut off...two very desirable features!!!

I have had so many of these curlers in my lifetime, but not in the last 2 decades. Flat irons give my baby fine shoulder length hair horrible static. I HATE flat irons! Of course my daughter is thrilled when I try another flat iron because she knows she will be getting it for her super thick, coarse hair within a few weeks.

I started looking for a brush iron a year or so ago and could only find the 3/4" irons or the 1+ inch round air brushes. The small iron is just too small for long hair and the air brushes are cumbersome and ineffective.

Desperation led me to the web where I found this one. OMG.. could it be the same iron I had in the 70's? I think so!!! Yay! I read the reviews and bought it, slightly worried about the hair catching in the joint.

Got it yesterday and tried it out.

1. It DOES take a while to get REALLY hot.

2. My hair does get caught in that joint, which is totally unacceptable.

3. The darn thing is EXACTLY what I hoped for!!!

The joint was an EASY fix. Goody sells SILICONE rubberbands. They are round, like a tube, not flat.

Double one of those up and it lays right in that groove. Silicone can take that heat no problem and it TOTALLY resolves the caught hair issue.

The brush is not made of hard plastic bristles, which is a vast improvement, IMO.

This is cheap, works great for big curls on the ends of your hair.

Today my hair looks better than it has in years. Loads of nice big waves and curls.

I love it!

This product is incredible. Used it with their leave in conditioner..blow dried my super curly hair, barely even using the brush and it was straight and voluminous. Its the best product I have ever used.
