I am sorry for the past ratings. I got the item a couple of days ago and it works great! It did take some time for it to arrive but the product was well worth the wait!It was ok, but I expected tohave shinier silkier hair after using a straightening iron, but it didnt work as well asw I thought it would.

This is a terrific diffuser. One of the adapters fit my dryer and the diffuser fit that tightly enough not to fall off. The advantage of this diffuser is that is is wide so you can "cup" and push up a lot of hair at once. The fingers also lift the hair, this is important if you have wavy hair which can have flat spots. My hair is thick and curwavy, and prone to the dreaded frizzies. It's curly in some parts, wavy in others so it's hard to get a consistent look all over, but this diffuser does the job because of the size and fingers. I highly recommend it if you have curly hair.

I had this Diffuser for fifteen years and it was time for a new one. In the mean time I used the one that came with my store bought blow dryer what a joke. This diffuser is superior and makes a big difference to curly hair. Curls are bouncy and defined. Attachments should fit any blow-dryer I have used it with a professional dryer and store bought one as well. I use to have this diffuser but from a company called curl master. This is by far the best diffuser I have used. My friends with wavy hair actually get great curls with this diffuser as well. The only problem is finding a compatible blow dryer. I have one that fits somewhat well but it slides off very easily. I have to dry my hair on a carpeted area so that the diffuser doesn't break (from experience). Otherer wise a great product!

After reading about this product in a recent beauty magazine and being a clean-freak when it comes to my beauty products, I decided to give this a whirl. And what a time saver! I've had this hair dryer for years (of course, it's an older model) and it's still going strong. I believe it's about 7 or 8 years old. Either way, for an inexpensive little hair dryer, it's definitely lasted long enough to be worth it.
I was surprised at first because it was smaller and lighter than I had expected.
The heat can get really hot, and the air speed can get really strong too, and I like it since my hair needs a lot of heat and air strength to get dried and straightened.
I also like how you can dry your hair and straighten it at the same time.
This hair dryer is really cool, and the price is very reasonable as well.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it needs too much pressure to put and take out the straightening pic and the concentrator.
Every time I try to pull it out, I'm scared that I might break it, but I think I'll get used to that.
Anyway, this is a great hair dryer overall.
I need to toss it and buy something else.

I selected to purchase this dryer because it is one of the few left that does not have ionic conditioning. I have very fine, straight,short and thin hair and the ionic conditioning dryers zap any body that I may be able to build through shampoos or setting solutions and cancels it out. Actually I purchased a couple of extra ones just in case Conair decides to discontinue this model #261. There is another Conair dryer that looks very similiar to this one that does have ionic conditioning so be careful and don't mix up the two. This dryer works for me. I have had this hair dryer for over a year and it works fine except for one thing....the silicone-like finish is melting and sticky. I have been unable to clean it and it is gummy and hair is sticking to it.I need to toss it and buy something else.

I am simply in LOVE with this hair dryer! It has a very solid, heavy duty, almost industrial feel to it. Actually seems more like a tool you'd use in the garage than a salon product. The 2000 watt AC motor is surprisingly quiet; none of that high pitched whirring sound like on cheaper dryers and an awesome amount of air flows through this thing.
It is a little heavier than the typical store bought models, but that's due to the superior AC motor as opposed to the cheaper DC motors in others. May be a negative for someone with long hair who has to hold it up for a long time, but it's not really that much heavier and I prefer the weight. Besides, an AC motor will last twice as long.
Basically, it's just a well made, sturdy dryer without all the fancy "ionic, ceramic, tourmaline, titanium" claims of other dryers. Personally, I don't really buy all that hype. I've tried ionic dryers and found no real difference. It's the motor, heat settings and product choices that matter in my opinion. Even professionals agree that there is little science behind all these claims and in a study undertaken by the Good Housekeeping Institute, no significant difference in the drying time of ionic and non-ionic hair dryers was found.
This dryer features low and high speed settings and low, medium, high heat settings with a cool shot button. Even the low speed setting pumps out a lot of air. The high speed setting almost blows my hair off! The low heat setting is basically no heat just cool air, medium is warm and high is pretty hot. I prefer just cool air and many other dryers are still too warm on the low setting, so this one is perfect; especially on warm days.
Comes with an attachable concentrator tip that slides over the end and fits very securely. My old dryer (a Remington) had a concentrator that barely clipped on to the end and was always falling off, but this one actually slides over the nozzle and grips on. There's no way this is coming off unless I yank it off. Also has a very long cord, probably around 8 or 9 feet I'd estimate. The color is actually a little darker than in the photos here. More like a brick red and not as shiny, more matte.
This is truly a professional product. Best dryer I've ever owned.

Highly recommended. This dryer feels solid and well built. It is a bit heavier than the typical cheapie dryer. It is also quieter, and has a narrower barrel. (Probably to concentrate/direct the air flow). On medium heat and high speed, dried my super thick hair fast and with a nice result. I bought this hair dryer three years ago when I was working as a TV reporter so I could get my hair salon perfect in minimal time. It didn't let me down.I came across this hair dryer when my stylist recomended it and gave me her beauty supply store discount number. I paid over $100 for this! You are getting such a deal here!
In the last three years I've never had a problem. The only advice I have is to not use the hottest setting with the highest setting more than a couple times a month--I made that mistake and paid for it dearly with split ends and breaks. However, it is really nice when you are in a hurry--I have thick shoulder length hair and can totally try it in less than 3 minutes with this.
