last halloween i wanted to do this hair style, thats before bumpits, i had about 3-5 girls trying to help me with this hairstyle, turned out really bad, they all have thick hair, and can do this style, but they told me my hair was too thin. so within the year, i heard about bumpits, i kept wanting to try them, but was skeptical with the bad reveiws on amazon, but i decided to try this hairstyle again this halloween, i was the queen bee, so i thought it would be cute to have a beehive hair style. it didn't take as long as i thought, it only took me a few tries, i used lots of hairspray, the teeth did not show, just make sure its teased(it comes with a fine tooth comb), it looked good also wasn't sure how well it would stay with my tiara infront of it, but it looked good, and stayed nicely. for the finishing touch, i added a few bobby pins to the back, i dont know how nessicary that was, but i wanted to ensure a good hold. i put my hairstyle together around 2pm, and it lasted til around 4am, no problems, and i got pretty wild that night, but stayed in wounderfully. i also kept forgetting it was there, very comfortable. highly recomend if u like this hair style, just make sure u got hairspray

oh yea, i only bought it for ten dollars at dollar general, they also have it at walmart for that price, they're ripping people off on amazon for $15-$16

I have long thin fine hair and I thought by using this product it would would help me with giving me a bump that I want. After buying it, I realized how this product does not work! I first thought that I wasn't doing it right and wasnt using enough hair, but it seems like no matter how much hair I was using, you can see the teeth of the Bumpit! The medium size was too small because when I did have it on, it looked like I wasn't wearing one leaving me with no bump at all, and the large was too large! Not only that, but the color of the Bumpit didn't even match my hair right! This was a total waste of money and would not recommend this product.

I was really excited when these came in the mail. When I opened the box, I was a little curious as to why they chose the 3 sizes they did. I have fine hair, but I love big hair. However, I couldn't figure out ANY way for any of these things to work in my hair. They seemed too tall, but more importantly too wide. Maybe I have a small head, but they just didn't fit at all. Even the smallest one was just awkward. All in all I feel like these were a total waste of money.

My husband recently asked me what the hairdresser did to make my hair look so sleek when she styled it. I used the same products as her and copied her techniques but my fine hair tended to be a bit frizzy. The next time I was at the hairdressers I paid closer attention. Same shampoo, conditioner, brush size and similar technique. As she blew my hair dry I realized the difference she used a professional hair dryer. For years I have purchased inexpensive drugstore hairdryers that run about $20 and replaced them when they blew a fuse a year or so later. With a professional dryer she was able to dry my hair quicker and that combined with ceramic and ionic technology of the dryer she used cut out the frizzys!

After checking out several hair dryers including the one she used, I decided on the Babyliss Pro-Carrera. There were a number of reasons. It offers ceramic and ionic technology. The wattage 1900 is gentler than the 2000 but still powerful. AND a super selling point was that though the dryer is a professional model it is LIGHTER and more COMPACT than other professional dryers by about 25%. Yes I want nice toned arms but not from using a hairdryer. I wanted the dryer to be easy to maneuver.

The dryer has not disappointed. The styling is very euro-chic. Black with a matte finish. Not the shiny easily scratched surface of other models. Controls are easy to use. The handle is comfortable to hold. It has a heavy duty cord, overkill for my home perhaps but not a problem and the hairdryer is compact and not too heavy. The dryer comes with a concentrator nozzle which is not mentioned in the item description. This snaps on the dryer and concentrates the air where you want it to go.

And it dries beautifully. A powerhouse but very controlled works great on my baby fine hair and dries my daughters thick locks in half the time of our cheapie models. And the good news is I understand it will last for years instead of breaking down within a short time period like the cheapie models. Plus its quiet!

For the kinky hair people, here is a review for you. I was having lots of hair breakage and decided to go to a hair loss specialist. She did not have kinky hair and told me to stop putting relaxers in my hair, or stretch retouches out to once every 3 months by using a ceramic flat iron to straighten my hair. She said that since beauticians have stopped basing the scalp, African American's scalps are damaged and causing thinning hair whereas they may have had thicker hair as children, or before relaxers. I thought she was incorrect because she did not have hair like mine, and therefore did not know how to treat it. There was no way that I could imagine going over six weeks without a retouch. I found a beautician that I thought could treat my hair. This beautician used a ceramic wet to set ceramic iron on my hair. My mind was blown at the silkiness and it remained intact in damp weather. The beautician said that some people are using ceramics instead of perms. I am now on the ceramic-ionic move and I am loving it. This dryer was amazing. I keep looking at my hair because it is so silky and shiny and I have not had a perm in nine weeks. I would now love to discontinue the use of relaxers and bring back my natural hair's elasticity by using ceramic hair appliances alone. I now see what the hair loss specialist was saying. Sisters-this is the dryer that you want to straighten your kinky hair. Why did I give it a 4 instead of a 5,the reviews were right about the poor location of the control switches, heavy weight and large size. They are not so favorable, but you will love you hair. You may want to ask a beautician about how to successfully straighten kinky hair while drying it. There is some technique involved. I am very impressed with both the design and performance of this hairdryer. Exceptionally well-made, it sports a very sleek, cushioned black body; is unusually lightweight especially for a 1900 watt dryer is comfortable to hold, and I did not experience any problems with accidentally changing the settings on the handle (hot,cold, on, off, cold shot, etc.). There is absolutely nothing flimsy in the design of either the switches or the body of the hairdryer. You won't run the risk of changing the settings by accident.

Regarding performance, I am amazed at the outstanding results. My thick, long, coarse and frizzy hair became so sleek (major improvement noticed after having used the dryer three timesI guess the effects are cumulative) that it looks like I took a flat iron to it. I didn't even use styling products!

It dried my hair in less time than my previous dryer, an 1800 watt, terribly heavy professional Elchim (non-ionic), and it did so without tiring my arms. The BaByliss dryer is an excellent value for the price. By contrast I paid about $90 for my Elchim and have used other professional dryers and none of these gave me the results that this product has.

The Babyliss Hair Dryer, as described online, does everything it said it would. After years of buying inferior similar products that had to be replaced almost yearly, I finally have a rugged product that is lighter to use and leaves my hair looking like it does after I leave my hair stylist. I had the perfect blowdryer... that was until I moved. Nonetheless, I was pretty worried about getting a new one. I have been through a fair share of terrible no good hair dryers. Looove this one! It's lightweight, only 1.7 lbs compared to some that are 2.5 or even 3! I like that it has a retractable cord, which will make for easier traveling. That goes for the folding handle as well. The HIGH is actually really high powered, I was surprised. And the settings are perfect, in my opinion; the warm isn't too hot (like some I've experienced).

Not too much I can say about this little gem. I purchased it mainly because of the good reviews, and the fact that it came with a diffuser for my very curly hair. It's inexpensive, but I'd bet it would hold up to any of the much pricier dryers. Don't hesitate to get this one.

I cannot fault this product on the way it functions. Plenty of air, choice of temps and the retractable cord works well, once you get the knack of it.( You have to hold down a button, pull the cord, then guide it back in while still holding the button down) However, it is much bulkier than I expected, and a bit on the heavy side.I was attracted to this item by the cord feature as I thought it would fit more neatly into one of my vanity drawers or a suitcase. But, it is too bulky,even with the handle folded, so has to go in the linen closet.Also, the location of the controls are such that I have to stop the hair drying to change a setting, as this requires both hands.Because of the weight and bulk, I find it very awkward to brush my hair while holding the dryer. I was very shocked at how big this dryer is given that it's designed to be a travel dryer. It's the same size as a regular dryer (on the larger side). The retractable cord mechanism seems a bit flimsy as it was not rewinding very strongly even after a few use. The button to push the cord back also seems difficult to push. I had to push a few times to the cord back in. When I sit on my bed to dry my hair with it with the outlet just below my bed, the cord seem a bit short and I had to tuck at the extension cord a little. I guess that's the tradeoff for having the retractable cord. Overall, the design is very clumsy and not slim as it should be for traveling. However, I do like that it has 3 heat settings, 2 blower speed, and it's ionic.

I was looking for an ionic dryer that would eliminate frizz. I also wanted one that featured a cool shot button. What sold me was that in adition to my "musts," it folds for easy storage. Oh but the fact that it has a retractable cord makes it even better.

What I was NOT expecting and which made me a happy camper was the versatility of the settings. According to the product description, it has 3 heat/2 speed settings. For a newbie like me, that was a bit vague pardon my ignorance. But it turns out it has the "low/off/high" speed switch on one side, and on the other side you can adjust to "cool/warm/hot." That's in addition to the cool shot button!

As if that's not enough, the package includes a chart that I find to be very helpful for selecting the speed/temp according to hair type:

LOW/COOL Delicate, thin, easy to style hair

LOW/WARM Average-to-thick or treated hair

HIGH/HOT Thick, coarse or hard-to-style hair

The hot temp works fine with me, and my hair falls into the "average-to-thick" category. It took less than 2 minutes to dry my shoulder-length hair, with about half the time having it on low/warm and the other half on high/hot. And it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be!

One down side (the only one I can find) is that it's a bit bulky and on the heavy side. If that's not an issue, I would recommend this product, since it's the best one I could find at such a great price.

So many features for a reasonable price, you can't beat that. You won't be disappointed!

I love this stuff. I have curly hair, which tends to be a bit dry at times and since using this I have seen a noticeable difference. My hair feels healthier, and doesn't frizz up as much anymore. I think it's well worth trying. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, but it doesn't hurt to try. I have tried a lot of different products and so far this is one I have purchased more than once because it actually does what it claims to do.

This product is DANGEROUS. I bought the blowdryer because it came with a lifetime warranty thinking it was a good deal. I have gone through 3 dryers in the last 3 years, and they all had electrical problems and ended up dying by literally blowing up (the cord). I am not the only one with this problem. The switch would let out a small spark every time I turned it on or off and eventually the cord would explode at the base of the dryer. However, I did like the way it dried my hair, always leaving it frizz-free and dried it very fast, but it's not worth the risk in my opinion.

I have been a fan of this brand of hair dryers since I was first introduced to it in 2001. I've never switched to any other and none seem to compare. I find it very hard to go away or use a friends dryer because I never get the same results as I do with my Elchim.

I'm a proud owner of 2 and I've turned almost all of my friends and family onto it too. This last purchase was a Christmas gift for my mother because she needed a smaller model to travel with.

I highly suggest owning one if you straighten your hair often or just love quality.

I have a Turbopower Twin Turbo 3200. When I received the diffuser I put it on and it kept popping off. I called Turbopower and they asked me if there were four rectangular rubber prongs on the inside of the diffuser. I looked inside and there they were. They told me to put the diffuser on a flat stable surface ( like s table) and push down hard. When I pushed down hard enough, it locked in. This is the best straightener I ever used! I have super thick curly hair. With this iron I was able to get it dead sleeky straight in about 40 minutes. I've had my Paul Brown flat iron for 7 years and it's still delivering. It heats up in seconds, and the irons are in perfect condition. The little name cap that covers the corner fell off some time past, but it still works great. This past Christmas I decided to try a Chi. I've always been wary of the hype with Chi and from reviews they don't seem to last more than a few years. However I decided I had to give one a try, so I bought the (gorgeous) Aurora LE a week ago. I was impressed with the performance at first. I did a back and forth comparison between it and my PB on alternate days. At first I thought the Chi was better, then I realized the Chi wasn't any better than my PB, then I saw for sure my PB outperformed the Chi and after using using the Chi only twice before, on the third use it began to snag my hair like a cheap iron What? Ugh! And that was using their Iron Guard product that came with the iron! My PB has NEVER EVER snagged my wavy hair no matter what I've had in or on it. So the Chi's going back to the store and I'm going to keep using PB forever. BTW, I also have an FHI Platform and I paid a lot of money for it it is an expensive professional iron, and ladies it SUCKS compared to PB!! I never use.

This is the second one I've owned and I love it! I have long, thick wavy hair and it blowdries it in half the time without burning or overheating my hair. It has great power and I like the medium heat setting. It's not too loud, but not the quietest. The blowdryer helps keep my hair soft and shiny, too. After the cord on my first one frayed, I tried three other dryers and this is still my favorite. Inexpensive too!

Edit: As this is the second one I've owned, I've noticed they have an expiration date of about a year, give or take a few months. I seriously absolutely love this dryer, but it's frustrating to have to replace it over a silly design flaw -somehow the wiring in where the cord attaches to the dryer shorts out after a while. I'm sure I could get it repaired but it's almost cheaper to just replace the whole thing.

It's a shame because this dryer is amazing. Always dries my super thick & course long hair in half the normal time without burning or overheating it. I love it if they could fix that flaw it'd be perfect!

I first used an Andis hair dryer in a hotel I was staying at and couldn't believe that it cut my drying time in half and did not make it dry and frizzy like some hotel dryers. I am stationed in Korea where the electric is 220, I need to use an inverter for this.

Besides that, it's a great hair dryer. I don't look so much for wattage but am more interested in airflow, and this baby fits the bill for drying hair quickly as well as other body parts.
