This flat iron makes your hair smooth and silky with a just pass or two even if your hair is course or thick. I found the review giving this product one star because it fell off the table in to a laundry basket full of clothes and "turned on by itself" bizarre. How about taking some personal responsibility for your own careless behavior? This flat iron has an awesome feature that allows you to lock the plates together when not in use. You don't find this feature on many flat irons and I wish more had it. I doubt that clothes in a basket would place enough force on the on/off switch to turn it on (nor do I think an insurance adjuster would), but even if that did happen, why would anyone leave a flat iron plugged in when not in use and leave it on a table above a laundry basket full of clothes? Don't blame a perfectly safe hair appliance for your lack of common sense. I'm glad this did not turn in to a tragedy but from what you described it is your carelessness that is the real danger to your family's safety. Back to the product review, I'm a licensed cosmetologist and have been for almost 25 years. I've owned hundreds of hair appliances (I'm actually a hair appliance junky) and dozens of flat irons all brands and this one was the best I've used so far. Safety tip: Please always unplug flat irons, curling irons, clothes irons or any other appliance that heats to very high temps when not in use because then you know for sure it's off.

All I have to say, is my mom had this straightener at home, and I LOVED it, so when my straightener crapped out on me, the first thing I did was look for this one for myself. To be completely honest with you I think the Rusk W8less straightener is better than a Chi.

This is a great flat iron for anyone looking for a 5 star product at an affordable price. After doing some research on a new flat iron after losing my CHI on a cruise somehow.... I didn't want to shell out the same amount of money and read good things about this iron. I Just got it today and its fantastic. Heats up and gets hot extremely quickly and glides through hair effortlessly and I find my hair shinier after using it. I also feel it does a better job at getting my hair pin straight as if I just had it styled at a salon. Also upon opening and to my surprise this came with a BONUS trave hair dryer which is not mentioned in the product description. I haven't used the hair dryer yet but will be traveling home in a couple days for Christmas and will submit another review upon usage. I was really skeptical of the product at first because of the price. But after reading from one of the other reviewers that the device was too hot for their hair I really wanted to see what all the hype was about. It turned out to be the best purchase ever. My daughter has natural African-American hair, but her hair is and requires high heat to and a flat iron to straighten. With the humidity I have to pass a comb blow-dryer through it daily to get it together. Most dryers that get this hot are really heavy and cumbersome, but not this one (it is light and easy to handle). The box does have Japanese on it, but it is well made. I especially like how they put the controls on the side instead of on top where your fingers keep messing with the settings. It works perfect for everyday use.

Cheap Hot Tools Black & White Nano Ceramic Ionic Dryer

I really love this hair dryer! I have had a variety of different hair dryers over the years, but Hot Tools is definitely my preferred brand, and this one works wonders. I have shoulder length hair that I dry with a round brush. What I was looking for was a dryer that would be (relatively) quiet, dry quickly, and give me a variety of settings, and I got almost exactly that.

This dryer is stylish and fun, and it dries my hair quickly. My hair is not nearly as static-y with this hair dryer. It's light weight and easy to use. The print doesn't seem like it will rub off, like my last one did, and the settings are clear. The indicator light to show that it's on seems a little silly and useless, unless you couldn't hear that the dryer was on.

Some cons: It's not as quiet as is advertised. When the packaging boasted about how quiet it was, I almost expected something you could use in the same room as a light sleeper without waking them. This might be the case if you have it on low, but I use the high setting, and it's definitely not quiet there. However, even on the high setting, it doesn't shatter your ear drums, so that has to count for something.

It only has two settings high and low. I would have liked a medium setting, since the low is too low to really do anything, but you can probably accomplish anything you need to with medium through small bursts of the dryer on high. It also has a cool setting that could be useful too.

Overall, I am VERY happy with my product. I gave it 5 stars despite its flaws since the pros outweigh the cons, mainly that it dries my hair quickly without causing it to be super static-y. I have used it at home and while traveling, and didn't have a problem with either. Since it's also smaller than my previous dryer, it was easier to pack. If you need a new hair dryer, I would definitely recommend this one.

I am by no means any type of hair stylist. I have thick wavy hair that becomes frizzy easily. With past blow dryers my hair gets HUGE and puffy. However, I have found my solution! This blow dryer is GREAT. My hair does NOT get frizzy or dry like it has with other blow dryers. I do still run a straightener through it once it is dry, but that is because of personal preference. Also, it's pretty quiet! Oh, and it has a cute design on the outside, too. :)

This is the best hairdryer ever!

The highest heat and air setting will probably straighten your curly hair just by blowdrying with your fingers. I use the medium setting to set my curls with the diffuser and the time spent on my hair has pretty much been cut in half.

I was flipping through one of my Marie Claire's and they had a comparison chart on some of the best hairdryers and all the testers picked the FHI Heat Nano Salon Pro 2000 as their No. 1 choice.

Overall, this is a great hairdryer and if you have only purchased drug store hairdryers in the past then i guarantee you that the FHI won't dissapoint.

I want to qualify this review with the fact that I am not a professional hairstylist. I use it every day and just love it. The dryer has three options for heat: cold air, warm, and hot. Previous review mentioned that the button control location is bad, but I have never mistakenly hit any button and haven't had that problem. I have very curly hair and am now able to get the volume without all the frizz. Highly recommend this hair dryer.

I was the first person to ever not believe that a higher end hair dryer could make one iota of difference I was wrong. When I received the item I contacted the seller because I thought it was too big for my head and thought there was an insert to make it smaller. She explained to me that it is supposed to have gaps and does not fit like a headband. My beautician thought it was a little odd but she knows I'm always trying new things. Well, it worked as advertised. It kept the hot air off my face, out of my eyes and off my ears. I was using those "ear cups" which worked very well but I had difficulty using my ear buds to listen to music while waiting for my hair to dry. This item has solved all of my problems including stopping me from falling forward from under the dryer when I would drop off to sleep. The front of the shield would hit the front of the dryer when my head drooped forward causing me to wake up. For people like me who have long hair that grows low on the nape of the neck, be mindful of how you roll it. I had to make mine loose.

My wife tried the dryer and it did not do the job. It was a 220/110 (native 2202V) volt device that was supposed to be 800 watts. Maybe if we operated it at the 220 volt power level it would perform well, but at the USA 110 volt power input it did not perform at all. Worse yet the Seller stuck us with a return shipping fee. We had to pay $12.00 to return the item that did not work. My advice is think twice before buying this item if you are going to use it in the USA.

To be fair to the seller it did correctly describe the product but not the fact that it would barely operate when used on the USA power grid of 110V.

Update 05/30/2013 After contacting the Seller today to check on the status of my return. The Seller also refunded my return shipping cost and was very interested in how the hair dryer performed. I would rate the product a one star and the reseller a five star.

I would not buy this product as it is poorly made. I also would not buy from the vendor. The hood of the hair dryer would not adjust up or down. And, after only two attempts to get the hood to adjust down the hood would not stay in open position. Also, when I turned the dryer on it immediately turned itself off. I contacted the Beauty in Black vendor for a return and they do not have a contact # only email. Their return policy has a 20% return restock fee and their email address to request a RMA (return merchandize authorization) #actually is with a different vendor called . In sending the request as directed the email bounce back -the email address is no good!!! So, I am at a lost how to get this issue resolved.

The dryer does what I need it to do. Small issues like the heat doesn't reach the back of my hair line. I have to use a hand dryer to finish drying the back. The high setting can be really hot and canister can barely fit my head with the rollers.

But again, the dryer does essentially dry the hair (it can reach) completely and effectively.

I purchased it at my local beauty supply store because it looked nice and it was supposedly of a higher quality than the one I owned previously. When I opened the box I first noticed the very poor quality of the plastic used to make the dryer and that it only has two settings, unbearably hot and not hot enough. It has no height adjustment. It doesn't dry the back of my hair and if I put rollers in my hair then my head doesn't fit underneath it. Do not purchase this product it is a waste of money. The hair dryer works okay. The drying power is okay at the highest setting and it's fairly quiet. The hair dryer cord is too short. I'm not sure what is meant by "the unique cord storage feature". I didn't find anything like that on this hair dryer.
