I have natural hair and it is 4b type hair. I came across this product while surfing for soft and gentle products for my hair to reduce breakage and repair environmental damage. I wasn't sure if this line would work on hair with really tight curls. Since, I was going through a period of trial and error, I decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad I gave it a shot too! When my hair is wet, it tangles easily. When I use the conditioner, it softens my hair so wonderfully and I can actually run my fingers through my hair without having to use a comb! It's so smooth and creamy and you can feel your hair loving the pampering. I love this stuff and I have noticed less shed and broken hairs when I wash (in addition to my wash/deep condition regimen). This is my new favorite hair cleansing product and I would highly recommend all brands of Kanechom hair Shampoos and Conditioners to anyone working with 4b hair. If this stuff can help make the tightest curls manageable, I know it is is phenomenal on all other types of hair.

Okay...I decided to get a new blowdryer. Didn't need one mine was still working, after all. But there was all the hype about ionic, ceramic, tourmaline blah, blah, blah. But I was unhappy with my hair. It just didn't look good and hadn't for years. Didn't know why so kept shopping for the miracle product, the better stylist, a different cut. (BTW, I'm 55 and have curly, fine blonde hair but lots of it.) Finally had a eureka moment when I found a site that said dryers, even if they work, lose their effectiveness with age. Ummmm. My blowdryer is 19 years old.
So went on a search for a new dryer. Finally decided on the BaByliss Pro 2000 watt dryer due to the reviews on several sites. Not cheap but not outrageous. Bought the diffuser as well.
Used it for the first time today.
I used all the same products and care on my hair this morning. Normally, drying with the diffuser for 15 minutes removes excess water but I still left the house with damp hair, even on an Indiana January morning. Hair would be dry by about 10:00 am and then start to frizz by 2:00 pm, with no volume. TODAY walked out of the house with almost dry hair (after drying for 10 minutes) with volume (where I wanted it) and ended the day with frizz-free hair that is soft.
THE NEW DRYER.....Love the controls and the fit in my hand. It is heavier than my previous dryer but the shorter drying time makes this not a problem. Was louder than my previous dryer; however, if you are a 150 year old woman trying to yell as loud as a 3 year old, you're probably going to lose. I switched from hot to warm settings and the volume diminished. If you have curly hair and want to use a diffuser, I recommend ordering the diffuser designed for the dryer. I tried to use my old diffuser and it kept falling off. Irritating.
So far am very happy with this dryer and the results on my hair. Soft, frizz-free, dries quickly. And much better styling. My lesson learned replace that old dryer. I'm happy with my choice of replacement.

I'm talking---Wait for it...BANGS. I am actually contemplating it.
I will actually go as so far to say I will be showering in the morning and I won't just let it curl on it's on or walk around with a curl turban while I get the kids ready for school.
I WILL BE A NORMAL PERSON!!! You know, the ones that wake up, shower, dry AND style their hair, put on makeup, and have coffee with there sit-down breakfast completed with a gerber daisy in a bud vase...well, you get my point.

Answers to some of the previously discussed "Cons"-
**Heavy-Well, yeah, it's made well and it sounds and performs like a jet engine. But if you are 85 years old I wouldn't suggest it.
**Concentrator Attachment-Mine never popped off and I used it for 30min on High. Also, thanks to my intense research on this product and my run in with a pot handle when I was 8 years old I learned that equipment that can evaporate water are generally not a great idea to touch when being used. If you would so wish to adjust your attachment angle at anytime turn it on the cold shot for about 30 seconds or so and, like magic, it is able to be handled. If you think that waiting for that long for it cool will hinder your hairs awesome sleekness, a few runs on the hot setting will put your hair right back in place.
**Volume Sucker-I would not suggest this dryer for anyone with fine hair. It's will cut your volume in half, that's why us "top-heavy" ladies like it so much. We can go from light socket to Cher straight in half the time. If you are grasping for every ounce of volume you can get I would say pass on this. But I bet you could use an old 80s trick and use this baby to blow dry upside down..that would be interesting..or just tease it like a us good-ole Southerners :) Guilty as charged! :)
**Suggestions-buy heat protector spray, a round brush, and dim the lights
The usual:
Arrive quickly and was exactly as pictured and worked when I turned it on.
In Conclusion: Stop reading reviews. BUY IT! You're welcome.

This hair dryer dried my hair much faster than my old one, and also gave it A LOT more volume. I think it was a really good value. It is a little heavy, but that doesn't bother me.Best Deals on BaByliss Pro BABP2800 Porcelain Ceramic 2000-Watt Dryer, Black

I bought this dryer at Amazon in order to get it for $125 less than the MSR. In 6 months it quit working completely and I contacted Amazon about it only to be told that it was past the 30 days. I emailed Amazon a few time before posting this, in order to give then a chance to make it right, but they offer no help at all. This is when I learned that these hair dryers are ONLY sold through authorized dealers and Amazon is not one of them. So my hair dryer is possibly a copy; it is certainly not under any kind of warranty and I just lost that $175. The real deal is a fabulous dryer and I would suggest buying it for the full $300 and having a 4-year warranty on it.
Amazon is one of the places online that I have always felt safe making purchases, but no more. Please be aware that you're taking a chance that it may not be authentic and it might fail, and, if it does, you will have just lost a lot of money because there is no support for it.
This dryer is like a miracle! Even in hot, humid weather I can walk outside and not feel my hair shrivel and kink up. OK, there will be a little frizz, but not anywhere near as much as before. I'm telling you, if this dryer can work this well on my hair it can work for anyone. I've tried other expensive dryers that women rave about and they were all a waste of money compared to this one.
First of all, let me warn you that if you are expecting this dryer to be anything like your old dryer you are going to be let down. In just about every way this dryer makes you think it's not up to the task but if you give it a chance you'll see that it is light years better than anything else out there.
For instance, this dryer does not seem to put out a lot of air. People tend to think it doesn't have enough power but that's not because it isn't working, it's because it doesn't need to blow your hair to smithereens in order to dry it quickly and thoroughly. And the benefits from not having to deal with all that wind are amazing. It actually gives you better control over your hairstyle and doesn't "poof" up your hair. If you curl your hair around a barrel brush and pull it tight, then pull verrry slowly down to the ends while following it with the dryer, it will dry your hair far more efficiently and smoothly than if you had to deal with tons of wind blowing your hair all over the place. The only thing is that it takes some getting used to the lack of wind because you are forced to handle your hair differently. Once you get the knack of it, though, you will never want to go back to your old dryer again. I feel so much less stressed out using this dryer, too. It's quieter, lighter and doesn't require gymnastics to achieve amazing results.
Another thing is that the dryer is amazingly light it weighs just over half a pound! Again, the control this affords you in being able to hold the dryer at strange angles indefinitely without feeling awkward or tired is amazing. I used to think that only a professional could dry the hair on the back of my head and style it well, but now I can do it myself to perfection with this dryer. This dryer is so easy to use you will have more energy when you leave the bathroom. I'll swear it takes less time to dry my hair, although I haven't estimated by how much. It feels like it takes about 25% less time than my old dryer, which was also a professional ionic/ceramic dryer.
One thing that is strange about this dryer (but not in a bad way) is that at first I thought I was seeing "smoke" rising from my hair when I used it. This alarmed me because I thought I was damaging my hair. Now I realize that this is most likely the humidity being blown out of my via the miracle of modern science! It has no smell and it seems like water vapor. I had seen this effect a bit with my old dryer, but it happens a LOT with this dryer. All I know is that my hair comes out silky, smooth, and since I've been using it, in MUCH better condition than before. I sometimes feel like I've used a relaxer on my hair!
The only complaint I have about this dryer is a small one and quite minor in the scheme of things. The control buttons are in an awkward place on the grip of the handle and it is easy to accidentally turn the dryer off or change the speed or temperature. There are 2 independent speed controls and 3 temperature controls.
Other than that, I find the lower speed virtually unecessary because the higher speed is versatile enough to use for any purpose.
In general, I would highly recommend this dryer to anyone regardless of their hair issues. I often see women with "thick curly hair" act as if their hair type is the hardest to handle and if a dryer can work on them it can work on anyone. Well, they never had fine, fly-away, kinky, curly, bushy, virtually weightless hair that will not be tamed for love or money like I do, so I often wonder just who has it harder in that department! But regardless of that, I think that anyone who wants silkier, smoother, straighter hair will be more than happy with their results with this dryer. Personally, when I have seen bad reviews of this dryer I think it's because the person hasn't learned how to use it yet and is expecting it to act like the average hair dryer. If you have that reaction I would suggest taking some lessons in blow drying techniques because I am pretty sure that will solve your problem. This dryer has taught me so much about how to dry my hair successfully that I am almost in debt to it for an education as well. Now if they can only come out with a model that will shine shoes too! ;-)
UPDATE May, 2008: I have now owned this blow dryer for about a year and despite daily use it's still going strong with absolutely NO issues whatsoever and I am still thrilled with its performance!
Bewarewhere are these dryers coming from and why is Amazon still selling them if they are not an authorized retailer? Hmm
***UPDATE***
Although Amazon may not be an authorized retailer...please be sure to specify to T3 (if for some reason you have to return or register your product) that your dryer WAS purchased through Sephora/Amazon...in which case Sephora IS AN AUTHORIZED RESELLER of these dryers. It makes a huge difference!
***still love my dryer though!***
Amazon should let you know of the issues before you by any product that will not honor it's warranty. I have used Amazon but never knew of this dirty little secret. I thought this was a customer service kind of company ,well it is not.

I was unable to keep this product due to the fact that the products box was not sealed and there was not a serial code attached to the hair dryer. I'm in love with this comb! I used it last night to detangle my hair and it was a breeze. I slathered my hair with conditioner and detangled in the shower under running water. I'm currently 20+ weeks post relaxer and I have thick 4B/4C hair. I'm used to detangling my hair a few times in order to get the desired results. I was looking for anything to cut frizz, that's what my leave ins are for. In terms of detangling, though, this comb did the job!

I bought this because it said it was a detangling comb and would reduce frizz. I have very thick curly/wavy hair. When my hair is wet (even after a deep conditioning treatment) the comb doesn't go through my hair very well. If you have thick curly hair I do not recommend this comb! I have long, thick, coarse hair and this hair dryer makes my hair look sleek and shiny. It takes half the time it took to blow dry my hair compared to a less expensive hair dryer. It is made well but not too heavy. You will definitely have this hair dryer for awhile. I do not have to have the settings on high and it still cut my drying time from an hour to 30 minutes with my hair.

I absolutely love this product! I did not even expect it to be this amazing. First off it smells excellent. Most hair mayos smell terrible. This product is ridiculously moisturizing for my type 4C natual hair, the driest, kinkiest hair anyone can deal with. I used this with heat for about 10 to 15 minutes then left it on for 2 hours (you only need to leave it on for 10 minutes though). Prior to me using this product, but hair was weak and breaking off like crazy. However, once after i used this product for a second time, my the breakage went down dramatically. The second time I added in an egg for extra protein. After I wash it out, i used a little as a leave-in/moisturizer then seal that in with jamaican black castor oil. I highly recommend this product. Usually the most popular product doesnt work for me but this does i promise!
