I bought this for my daughter as a gift and I believe it is best mirror that I came across. Have I personally looked at every mirror on the market? No. I can tell you that I spent a long time reading reviews of many different brands on Amazon. I finally went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and looked at every mirror they had and this mirror was by far the brightest of the bunch. Many that I turned on appeared dim like you should be putting on make up to go out for the evening (and that was at their highest or only setting). This mirror was able to be dim if you want it, but with a simple turn of a dial it could go bright like people would see you outside in bright light. I didn't see one other mirror that could go this bright. The mirror size is very nice and you can flip it over for magnified effect (10X). Also, it is quite heavy where it doesn't feel like it will be easy to fall over. At this price, I didn't want to buy something lightweight that I was fearful would be in danger of easily toppling over. The finish is also very nice. Some mirrors are plastic and look cheap. While this mirror is expensive, it looks very sleek and elegant. While I can say I didn't want to spend this much on a mirror, after seeing all of them in person I felt this one was well worth the extra cost.

I was looking for a new makeup mirror and selected this one because it seemed to have a really bright light, which I need in my dimly-lit dressing area. It arrived last week and I am very pleased. The light is really bright and provides excellent illumination for putting on makeup, tweezing, anything where you need to see what you are doing. The 10x magnification may actually be a little much, because you have to get quite close to the mirror to use the magnification side. But it shows every detail, allowing for much more precision in shaping my eyebrows, etc. The base is sturdy and overall it seems to be well constructed. I am glad I got this item and hope it will last a long time.

I initially bought this for the "natural" light feature. I work in a lab setting with unforgiving bright fluorescent lighting. Using the large wall mirror with standard lighting in my home bathroom provided mixed results usually I did okay, but if I tried to get a little bold, I would later see myself at my job and say "Gah!" This is great for checking the overall look of any ill-conceived "smoky eye" attempts. After having used this for a couple days though, I now see this is an indispensable tool for close-up grooming. Using the 10x magnified side, I am able to see my eye clearly without lenses for the first time in a long time. Anyone who has tried to put on false eyelashes while wearing glasses will instantly see the awesomeness of that capability. Some other features; it's a nice wide mirror that I can see my whole face in, the dimmable feature is nice, I'm able to articulate the stand such that it's at the right height and angle so my neck is not sore after tweezing brows for 20 minutes. Finally, it's very pretty, looks great in my bathroom, a little spendy, but overall great buy.

Bought this for my teenage daughter for applying makeup. She loves it. I'm not so in love with the first bulb burning out after about 6 weeks of daily use (about 30 minutes a day). The replacement bulbs are inexpensive, but the hassle factor is high.

Nice color, good application (a little thin, you may want to do two coats. We rarely do because my child doesn't actually care. :)) We don't even own remover for her, we don't need to after a couple of days to a week, this stuff just comes right off. It has a slight smell but it isn't overpowering or noxious-smelling.

I love that this brand is marketed for *children*, not specifically girls, and that there's no "diva" angle to the marketing (another brand of kid's nail polish I looked at markets to "your little diva", and I am really, really not a fan of that whole thing.) It's just nail polish that's safe for children to use, without any sexualizing, gendering, or personality assumptions sold with it. There are some really nice-looking colors in the line, too, I will totally buy more sometime.

As the title says, I use this n my daughter's type 4A/B hair for twist outs. I have type 4A hair, and my hair strongly dislikes this product....my daughter's? LOVES it. When I used it in my son's hair there was some flaking. I have notices that this product works best when paired with damp hair only. When the hair is dry or wet it does not work as well and will lead to flaking.

From other reviews, I thought this would be extremely lightweight. Turns out that w/ the full size plug and cord, it's really no lighter than my normal dryer (which, to be fair, is a compact dryer). This seems like it will do a perfectly adequate job as a hair dryer, but I like to pack LIGHT, and this is a little bit bigger/heavier than I thought it would be. Still, for so little money, I will keep it.

The 1600 Watt is the maximum for international use; many of her fellow students were unaware of that so their dryers have blown out. Hers is being borrowed constantly! The product works well almost like my last ConAir 1600 watt mini, with one exception. The fan control has been moved from the inside of the handle by the thumb, to the outside of the handle. This is definitely NOT user friendly to change fan speed, you have to stop drying, turn the dryer, move the switch, turn the dryer, and resume drying. Buy the ConAir 1875 watt model instead! It has the fan control where it belongs.

On the plus side, the dryer is light and fairly quiet.

On the minus side, The dryer does not put out enough heat. If you switch it to high, it is equivalent to medium on a good dryer. Another thing that is a pain is the switches; they are reversed from what the rest of the industry has. Intuitively one would think that switching up would increase the heat or air volume. Instead they are just the opposite.

I had my wife try it. She likes that it is lighter than her dryer but she says it is "wussy" it does not have enough heat to dry her hair. It is OK for me (with short fine hair) but with her medium-length heavier hair it is a waste.

Bottom line keep looking.

9/13 update

The dryer has gotten very noisy. It sounds like the motor and fan have plastic bearings that quickly get loose and make more noise as time goes on. The switches for heat and fan are counter intuitive. They are reversed, like turning on a light in your house by flipping the switch down.

Don't bother with this one.

I spent a good deal of time researching best ionic hood dryers for home use and my efforts paid-off! It was delivered to my home in about a week and the assembly was quick and very EASY (no tools needed)! It was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I am African-American with short (almost ear length) super thick, kinky-curly hair, so I DEPSERATELY needed an ionic dryer to control the frizz. I style my hair using "Hair Rules" products (also available on Amazon.com) and I now have completely dry, shinny, frizz-free, naturally curly hair in 40 minutes on the high setting (like I said, my hair is REALLY THICK).

I use my time "under-the-hood" to pray, read and plan my day. Hood dyers kind of force you to relax a little (smile). I pretend I'm at the salon or spa when I use my Babyliss. This dryer is not too noisy either. Downside: My receipt of purchase from seller was NOT inside the box (had my husband double-check). I will call Amazon about this matter.

I borrowed this same kind of device before, used it and liked it so I was looking for one for myself. This does what it's supposed it but I wish it had a bigger, more bell shaped tube so I could get bigger curls.

Suggestions:

1. The attachment fits only on smaller dryer openings. I didn't measure but I guestimate my dryer's opening is 2".

2. I have long hair and had to take the vent screen off the bottom. Before I took it off my hair twisted around and became a knotty mess.

3. You cannot hold this by the attachment. It get too hot. You have to use the hair dryer handle.

4. The first couple of times I used it, I grabbed smaller sections of hair which resulted in tighter curls. The next time I separated my hair, which is thin, into three parts: left, back, and right. The larger sections gave me slightly bigger curls which I liked more.

5. I dry my hair by moving the attachment up and down the section. When I leave it in one place the ends of my hair do not curl enough. If I leave it too far from my head, the roots don't get dry enough.

6. After drying, I lightly hair sprayed the curls and let my hair cool for a bit.

7. DO NOT BRUSH YOUR HAIR. You will ruin all your work. I separate the curls with my fingers and 'fluff' to finish.

Great product! fast and easy to use. remember to dry your roots first so you get volume. the valve on the bottom allows you to change the direction of the curl. whether you want to curl towards your face or away. i love that it's long enough to fit all my hair! LOVE IT!

it wasn't compatible with the dryer i bought but then i found another dryer in my house and that worked fine. make sure you check your dryer's size so it's compatible.

I love this product.It works great.The only probelem I had was that it did not fit my blow dryer that I ordered with it. But it fit the second blow dryer I tried. It only works on blow dryers that have very small openings.Once I got it on my blow dryer it worked pretty well you must leave your hair in or a couple minutes and then spray it with somthing that will keep it in place or the curls will fall out. It makes very beautiful curls. love it.

didn't add any heft to my hair, made it look dirty less than 48 hours later, was too sticky. Hard to control the amount that comes out and you almost end up wasting the majority of it since a little amount is enough to make my hair feel oily. All in all a disappointment for as much as it costs.

I used this hair dryer in a hotel and like it so much I had to buy one. Amazon had the best price. It's lightweight yet has the power to dry a thick head of hair quickly. The cold air button is in a good spot on the handle, which often is not the case. If your current dryer wears out your arms because of it's weight you'll love this one. Small enough to pack too.

Hyatt furnishes their rooms with this dryer, doesn't look too impressive, but I noticed how fast the light weight dryer blew my whole head of hair dry in 3 minutes! And I have fairly thick long hair that goes down to the middle of my back. Plus the air that comes out is not hot, so I am not covered in sweat like all the rest of the dryers I've tried over the years. Excellent product as an excellent price!

It took almost 2 weeks for the product to arrive. Double the time estimated when I ordered. When I received the product it was in a makeshift leftover, reused box. The box was smashed and the interior product box was smashed as well. The shipper was very negligent. Do not blame the postal method. The product should have been packaged properly and should have been sent in a timely postal fashion. I like the air brush wand, yet repeatedly the brush attachment gets stripped and it just turns around without the secured reenforcement. Very dissatisfied with the shipper. Somewhat dissatisfied with the quality of the air brush. Very unfortunate.

My older model hot air curling brush had a release button so that the barrel would turn and your hair never got tangled. That's the main reason I purchased this Helen of Troy model. 2 problems: 1) the bristles aren't long enough and the brush part can barely grasp my shoulder-length, fine, straight hair (unlike my old unit); and 2) it made my hair noticeably frizzy. Very disappointing and I will be purchasing one of the non-turning ceramic/tourmaline models that promises not to frizz your hair.
