I have been cutting my hair/beard for 13 years with one preferred discontinued model of Oster clippers. I couldn't find this model anymore, so I tried the AZTEQ clippers and I am fairly disappointed with it. While it did cut, the blade did not have enough back and forth travel so it tended to pull instead of cut my hair, unless I cut extremely slow. Even with adjusting the side screw knob, I could not get the clippers to cut well enough. I do not recommend this product. I wound up buying the fast feed Oster clippers and I am happy with the ease it cuts hair.

I initially posted the following as a comment to another review but it seemed likely to languish there forever unread. I was surprised to find that I could still post a review of my own despite having bought this device 5 years ago so here it is .... I hope you will pardon the duplication.

Shortly after I bought the Oster AZTEQ-11 I started having trouble with this device pulling my hair instead of cutting it, but since then I have found out what I need to do to make it work flawlessly. I hope you can do the same.

First you need to make sure the clippers are clean and well oiled before you use them. Hair will cause the blades to slow and can even bring them to a stop. The unit doesn't go silent regardless of how much or little the blade is moving and it's not obvious if/when the blade is stopped because the "equal and opposite reaction" causes the handle of the clippers to move when the blades are stuck together. All this adds up to one thing ... the first indication you have that there is a problem is usually the unit trying to pull one of your hairs out instead of cutting it. Be sure to check in between the two blades as tiny fragments can build up there that can't be seen unless you pry the two blades apart. You need the blades to be clean before you apply the oil.

The oil is also very important ... don't use the oil that comes with the clippers. Get a larger bottle so you won't have to worry about running out and be sure to apply it generously. The easier it is for the blade to move the lower the chance you'll feel like a plucked chicken by the time you're done.

If you are cutting thick hair or there is a lot of it you should also stop periodically and brush off the clippers to make sure they stay clear of cut hair and the blade stays in motion.

The last thing you should do is make sure the hair you're cutting is wet. The directions indicate that when cutting with this device the hair should be damp. I'm not sure exactly how wet hair can be and still be considered damp but I have a thick beard of thick hair which I trim no more than once ever 2-4 weeks. I generally splash my face so that my face and beard are dripping wet. I dry my face and pat my beard so I don't have water dripping down my chest. I make sure that my beard does not contain water that could drip out by running my fingers through it briskly. This leaves me with each hair wet enough to be cut but not wet enough to damage the clippers.

If you are having the problem I did you could simply buy another, more powerful set of clippers but if you follow my advice you may not have to. Trimming my beard is not easy but I do so now with no trouble and I'm still using the blade that came with the clippers when I bought them in 2008. 4 of the teeth on the blade have broken off but the blade still cuts well enough so long as I treat it right.

She told me to blend half of an avocado with my usual conditioner and leave it under a shower cap for 15 to 30 minutes. The day I started using this hairdryer, I got compliments on how good my hair looked no joke! People asked me if I'd gotten a haircut and I had to tell them no, just a new hairdryer. It's a powerful machine for how small and compact it is. It folds up nicely to fit easily in a gym bag, suitcase or small bathroom drawer. Ever since I got this dryer I noticed the handle got REALLY hot. Ive had it for about 3 months now, and one spot on the handle is so hot I couldn't even hold it properly.

Today, I was using it and all of a sudden black plumes of smoke started coming out of the handle, it was like the monster on Lost coming out of this dryer. Then it started sparking and died. I have finally found an affordable solution to my fine limp hair. I have spent so much money on so many products that made promises it just did not deliver. Here is what I do to help my limp fine thinning hair look the best it can look.

I have to make a note that I also use the john frieda luxurious volume Shampoo AND Conditioner (I don't usually use conditioner but this stuff rocks) AND I use the Infinity Spinning Air Brush.

The Shampoo and conditioner leave my hair shiny and soft. The blow out spray in conjunction with the Infinity Spinning Brush gives my hair a very nice PUFF. The heat and spinning brush against my roots (which have been sprayed with the blow out spray) gives my hair added volume that gives the illusion that I have beautiful and LOTS of hair.

Plenty of air, choice of temps and the retractable cord works well, once you get the knack of it.( You have to hold down a button, pull the cord, then guide it back in while still holding the button down) However, it is much bulkier than I expected, and a bit on the heavy side.I was attracted to this item by the cord feature as I thought it would fit more neatly into one of my vanity drawers or a suitcase. But, it is too bulky,even with the handle folded, so has to go in the linen closet.Also, the location of the controls are such that I have to stop the hair drying to change a setting, as this requires both hands.Because of the weight and bulk, I find it very awkward to brush my hair while holding the dryer. I was very shocked at how big this dryer is given that it's designed to be a travel dryer. It's the same size as a regular dryer (on the larger side). The retractable cord mechanism seems a bit flimsy as it was not rewinding very strongly even after a few use. The button to push the cord back also seems difficult to push. I had to push a few times to the cord back in. When I sit on my bed to dry my hair with it with the outlet just below my bed, the cord seem a bit short and I had to tuck at the extension cord a little. I guess that's the tradeoff for having the retractable cord. Overall, the design is very clumsy and not slim as it should be for traveling. However, I do like that it has 3 heat settings, 2 blower speed, and it's ionic.

I was looking for an ionic dryer that would eliminate frizz. I also wanted one that featured a cool shot button. What sold me was that in adition to my "musts," it folds for easy storage. Oh but the fact that it has a retractable cord makes it even better.

What I was NOT expecting and which made me a happy camper was the versatility of the settings. According to the product description, it has 3 heat/2 speed settings. For a newbie like me, that was a bit vague pardon my ignorance. But it turns out it has the "low/off/high" speed switch on one side, and on the other side you can adjust to "cool/warm/hot." That's in addition to the cool shot button!

As if that's not enough, the package includes a chart that I find to be very helpful for selecting the speed/temp according to hair type:

LOW/COOL Delicate, thin, easy to style hair

LOW/WARM Average-to-thick or treated hair

HIGH/HOT Thick, coarse or hard-to-style hair

The hot temp works fine with me, and my hair falls into the "average-to-thick" category. It took less than 2 minutes to dry my shoulder-length hair, with about half the time having it on low/warm and the other half on high/hot. And it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be!

One down side (the only one I can find) is that it's a bit bulky and on the heavy side. If that's not an issue, I would recommend this product, since it's the best one I could find at such a great price.

So many features for a reasonable price, you can't beat that. You won't be disappointed!

When I first purchased this item, I thought it was great. However, with the test of time, it has become a piece of junk. Of course, I was past the time for returning it and the warrany had expired. First the threads on the base of the mirror stripped out. I am quite handy and was able to make a replacement part out of solid brass rod. Then, one of the rivets that are at the joint of the scissors action broke. I ended up using a brass rivet to replace it, but it didn't match the others. Not long after, two more rivets failed. The brass frame around the mirrorbegan to discolor. So, it ended up looking like something from a used junk store, not suited to be in out nice .

Needless to say, the mirror "lives with the fish." A piece of junk.

If you have super-curly hair like me, you are probably used to using multiple products to keep your frizz at bay-After using this product, I didn't require any of that. My hair glistened and stayed put.

I had been hanging the dryer on a hook in between uses (I didn't want to put it away and take it out again), but it was rubbing against the wall and damaging it. This is perfect I just put the dryer in it, tube-down, and it holds it up and away from the wall. It's very sturdy and the dryer does not feel at all like it would fall out. I also like the modern chrome finish it matches other pieces in my bathroom, but would look good regardless. I'm really happy with this and would definitely recommend it.

I've traditionally purchased Conair brand hair dryers (most recently, the Conair Eco Hair Dryer, which no longer appears to be available). I needed to purchase a new one quickly, saw this one in a local store, and picked it up.

This dryer has several very nice features. First, it has three HEAT settings (hot, warm, cool) PLUS two STRENGTH settings (low and high). In addition, you have the option of boost the air flow with the "turbo" button and also using the "cool shot" button to set your style. I have found that what works best for me is to mostly dry my hair on the high heat-high power setting, then go down to the low power for a minute or two of styling. Using this method, I am able to complete my overall drying time significantly more quickly than with my old hair dryer. This dryer's nozzle is a bit longer than that of my old dryer, meaning that I bumped my head the first few times I used it, but I quickly got used to this. For a larger dryer, I find it to be relatively lightweight and relatively quiet as well.

Another feature of this dryer is the removable back to allow you to clean the lint screen; although I was attracted to this concept, I am unable to get the back off! Perhaps we just have a dud, but it simply does not move. Also, I should mention that the attachment is HUGE. I hadn't really planned on using it anyway, but when I did try to snap it on to the dryer, I could not get it on easily.

Overall, I have have been quite happy with this hair dryer--I just wish the back would come off. My final rating is 4 1/2 stars.

Edited 4/1/13: Good news--I was able to get the back off this morning! It seems like it just suddenly came unstuck when I tried it again (after many tries). I was able to clean the filter and put the back back on, and now it comes off easily with a slight turn clockwise. Still very happy with this hair dryer!

Returned this as the hot was lukewarm at best. I then bought a Conair Infinit Pro at a local store which seems much better heat wise.

First I had purchased the Revlon Matte Chrome Full-Size Turbo Hair Dryer RV473V1 on Amazon, but sent it back as it only got lukewarm. Then I bought a Conair Infiniti which I also returned because even on low the intensity was so strong my shoulder length hair kept getting all snarled and knotted. I figured it was because the opening of the nozzle was too big, so I set out to find one that was narrower. This dryer works perfectly. Doesn't get too hot, has 3 temps and 2 speeds and a cool blast if you need it. Good attachments, lightweight, not really loud, removable filter. Ionic/ceramic. The color is not my favorite, but what matters is it works."

This hair dryer no doubt made a visable difference in taming the fresh blow dried, frizzy look. The settings and attachments were all I needed plus and I have a ton of thick hair to dry. My only complaint would be that my first purchase of this dryer lasted only about two years or less and I expected more with a 4 yr. warrantied product but the working performance took me right back to it anyway. Best Deals on Remington Nano Silver Dryer

Overall a pretty good hairdryer. The only cons I would mention are the fact is quiet heavy and that the back pops off REALLY easy. Compared to the rest of the hairdryer, the back filter holder is plastic and cheap. I mean really really cheap plastic. Mine fell off and broke (large crack up the side), luckily the hairdryer is still usable, however, it is one feature I despise. The back just will not fit the hairdryer any longer. However, it has three heat and speed settings that are pretty nice. 4/5 stars.

I owned a remington supersonic and bought this dryer to replace it. I hate this dryer. It takes much longer to dry and makes my hair frizzy. Would probably be okay if you had fine hair, but it is not for someone with thick wavy hair.

I searched and searched for a product that would blow hard and hot enough to tame my naturally curly hair and this one did... until this morning when it started making a weird noise and then smelled funny. I turned it off, turned it back on and it doesnt sound like the same dryer AT ALL. Now, I am on the internet, about to buy the CHI (which I almost did originally) one for $125 and wasted the initial $50 I spent on this... thankfully its so cheap now so I dont feel so bad for anyone who actually buys it. I would say its worth about $15... NOT the $50 I paid for it at ULTA! Oh, and the fancy silver started coming off the side of the dryer within a few weeks and the rubber has been pealing alos, so it has looked awful for months!

I am a big fan of Davines products and they are typically much cheaper on Amazon than buying them at the salon I go to. This conditioner is great! It smooths my fine yet frizzy curly hair while still boosting shine and curl. I like using it with the Oi hair oil serum. It also smells fantastic. I get compliments often when I use this product and other Davines products. A little goes a long way, so I think it's worth the price.
