I'm buying my second one. The first one last about three years for me and I got alot of use out of it. My first one still works just the "teflon" is starting to rub off. If works fine still though. I am bi-racial but my hair is super thick and pretty course. Works great because it gets super hot. I trim my ends ever 2 months and my hair has grow alot even with putting heat on it weekly. Love this flat iron!

I purchased this flat iron (not from Amazon) and used it for the first time. It's dial has numbers 1-10, not accurate tempuratures, I put it on 8.5, tested it with a paper towel (if it burns paper it will burn your hair). I used it for a few minutes safely but by the time I did one 1/4 of my head, it heated up so high it burned my hair. This flat iron gets too hot-and I have medium thick hair. I also own a Rusk and a Hot Tools flat iron and will use them instead.
