It's true it is shiny, but I wet it and washed it with some gentle baby shampoo, and it did lose a little bit of shine. Although I may have to wash it a few more times to get more of the shine out. Blow drying it is kind of a pain because it moves around as you hold it in order to keep the hair going in the direction that you want it to. But it does provide different looks. I am able to do the side swept bang look. Or move over some of the longer strands if I want a longer cover your one eye sexy side swept bang look. I can even move the strands straight downward for a straight across bangs look. The price is reasonable too. It comes with 2 extra clips in a baggie in case you need them in the future.

I bought this for a cosplay but ended up wearing it as a every day item. Its a bit shiny but not too terribly, and the clips help really well once i figured out there was a snap in them.
