I'm very happy I found this hair dryer. I travel overseas quite often, and it's not so easy to find a really good hair dryer with a diffuser that runs on 220v. I've got curly hair, and the diffuser is a must.

The dryer isn't compact; it's just about the size of my regular home hair dryer. So it takes up some room in the suitcase. The diffuser snaps off easily, which makes it a little bit better. But I'm willing to trade off the size for a hair dryer that has some oomph and dries my hair quickly. Other European dryers I've used took forever to dry.

The Black and Decker has variable speeds and heats, and a cool shot button, so it has all the functions of my home version. Just don't forget to bring along the right plug variant for whatever country you're visiting. You don't need any kind of electricity converter, just the plug.

Great hair dryer. Has lots of power and doesn't shut off.

I bought it for St. Bart's, since they have 220V down there.

By the way, the plug on the hair dryer is the one they use down there as well as in Switzerland.

I was very pleased i could find a blower that can "work" outside of USA, well, this is NOT the one to buy. it worked only for a small amount of time and after SMOKE yes SMOKE was comming out of the blower and it was very very hot!!! so it is actually dangerous also, thanks God i realized it was kind of stopping and put away from my hair!! otherwise..... GOSH just to think it makes me worry!!!

well my advice is to look for something better! the only good experience about this product was Amazon return policy they made the experience a lot easier! Thanks Amazon!!

I purchased this because I was traveling abroad for 5 weeks and wanted a blow dryer that I knew wouldn't explode in Europe. This thing works great, and I've used it on other trips to countries that use 220V (like Singapore) as well. It has 3 heat levels and different powers as well. With a European plug, you don't even need an adapter--unless you go to the UK or Singapore or some such country that doesn't use the 2-pronged European plugs.
