I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this steamer. I really like that it has two containers for water and a 60 minute timer. I also like that the hood is big. It covers my entire head so I can steam my hair without pinning it up; and the back gets steam also. (It may help to know that I am African American with long, thick, and kinky hair.)There is a cup that catches the water from the steamer. It's nice that the machine doesn't drip on me (The hair obviously will drip, so I still need a towel.)
This steamer is very comfortable to use. It easily adjusts as the hood swivels and moves up and down while the stand also adjusts up and down. I can conveniently roll the steamer to a comfortable chair of my choice and adjust it as needed to experience the perfect steam treatment.
I read many reviews before purchasing this steamer; however, this steamer did not yet have any reviews to read. After long diliberation, I finally decided to take a risk with it because the description claimed to do everything I was looking for.
According to the reviews for other steamers, people were having to steam their hair twice once for the front, then sit backwards to get the back and have the hair pinned up. I also read that the table top steamers did not adjust as needed, so people had to sit on books or in certain chairs, set the steamer on books, etc. to steam their hair. I do not have to do any of that with this steamer.
I rarely go to the salon; therefore, it was important that I purchase a steamer that would give me a comfortable, convenient experience. This steamer delivers well and was nicely priced.
I gave this steamer a 4-star instead of a 5 for two reasons:
1)according to the instructions, there should be a "Max Line" to fill the water. I do not have a max line on either container. Consequently, I'm having to find out through trial and error how much water to use. Once, I overfilled it so the water sort of ran over. I poured some out then I ran out of water before my hour was up. In resolving this water issue my steam treatment was interrupted several times, which I did not like. Other times I have filled it just right, so my steam treatment was not interrupted. (I usually do 45min to an hour.)
2)Like reviews for other steamers, the instructions were very fague in putting the steamer together. I did have a difficult time putting it together. (I am not the handy-girl, so I need good, clear, detailed instructions.) Apparently, regardless of which steamer we purchase, we will be stuck figuring out how to put it together. :~
Would I recommend this steamer or buy it again? Yes, yes, yes, and yes again. Now that I have it put together, I absolutely LOVE it (other than the issue with filling it with water a slight inconvenience that I'm sure I will soon resolve). Overall, I am very happy and excited about my steamer. I am convinced that I made the best decision. I'm glad I took the risk with this steamer!

We are a huge and busy salon, We have 17 operators who use this machine non-stop. Have had it for 2 months now and they are very hard on equipment. The only improvement it needs is a stronger base. We have had the very expensive one's which are not sturdy and break all the time. I would suggest this product at this time.Best Deals on Professional Salon Hair Steamer with Rolling Floor Stand Base
Prior to making this purchase, researched many steamers online. They were very cost prohibitive. Then, found the Professional Salon Hair Steamer with Rolling Floor Stand Base on Amazon. For six months, I have thoroughly enjoyed this steamer. It has a professional size hood; I think it can accommodate any head size and any person's height. It covers my head and lots of hair completely I never needed to turnaround for the machine to steam my whole head/hair; I would pin up long hair to top of head. Although the instructions say it was not required, I only use distilled water. Love the three heat settings: high (low and high buttons both turned on), medium (high button turned on) and low (low button turned on). Never had any problems even with assembly; instructions were not the best but found assembly intuitive only a small amount of parts and took maybe 15 minutes from opening the box to the steamer fully assembled.
January 2013, received and started using the steamer with distilled water. In the beginning, used it weekly on my freshly cleaned hair with and without a plastic cap. Set timer for 30 to 60 minutes half time on high heat and half time on low heat. After one month, added a protein treatment (Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner) and left on my hair while steaming. After three months, used the steamer every other week with a protein treatment and used WEN remoist treatment on the alternate week without steam or heat.
My hair always felt okay and I occasionally received compliments. Since using the steamer, my hair has transformed into beautiful bouncy moist hydrated curls every day. After using the machine maybe two to three months, I stopped washing my hair every three to four days. Now, I wash my hair once a week and by December 2013 hope to wash my hair once every two weeks. Almost daily, I get compliments from everyone women and men of all races and ages. Now, I really really really like my hair and I never felt that way prior to using the steamer. I never have it flat ironed anymore. When you look good, you feel even better.
User Information: African American Woman with 3C/4A curly hair when straight/flat ironed, my hair is a little longer than shoulder length. I use WEN cleansing conditioner and condition with Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner or WEN remoist treatment. After washing, I apply the following products as leave-ins section by section: WEN cleansing conditioner and few drops of WEN oil and styling cream and KeraCare Hair Milk and Defining Custard for Curls/Coils. Doesn't take more than 30 minutes from washing to styling (not including steamer time). FYI I do not apply water or any other products the days after I wash my hair; my hair lasts and holds moisture and shine all over (top, back and sides and I sleep on my back) until I wash it a week later.
August 18, 2013 Update
I added some curly hair pictures to give a perspective of the after effect of steaming. It made a huge difference to softness and shine. Please note it also makes a difference what products I leave in hair after washing (see above) I've learned alot thru trial and error about what products works best for my hair and I'm no longer trying various products. I watched several times and followed the step by step instructions and video tutiorial provided by (1) whole foods for ethnic hair(scroll to the bottom of page and you'll see the video and written six steps)http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/department/whole-body/beauty-hair

Honest reviews on Professional Salon Hair Steamer with Rolling Floor Stand Base
I am transitioning back to natural hair and was tired of paying $25 per steam treatment at the salon I frequent. It seemed every natural had the huetiful, and raved about it, all while bashing its functionality. I stumbled upon this steamer. I was reasonably priced with decent reviews. The steamer shipped and arrived quickly, which I loved. The instructions could have been a bit more clear, but it's not rocket science. I was able to put the steamer together with no problem. I LOVE my results. I started off using it once a week for 45 minutes. After a month of that, I began to realize that I my hair was retaining moisture well...so well that I only steam twice a month. I has helped tremendously with my scalp issues (dermatitis) and I have little to no breakage at this point. I love this steamer, and it seems to be holding up well. The only thing I would suggest is even though it says you can utilize tap water, I would still used distilled/purified water with it to avoid any potential issues.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Professional Salon Hair Steamer with Rolling Floor Stand Base
I just received my steamer today and used it right out the box. I have also provided pictures to help anyone still on the fence about buying this unit.INSTRUCTIONS: The instructions suck! Luckily it is not too hard to figure out. One tip, if you are looking for the bolt that comes with this unit, it is screwed into the bottom of the base pole. The directions say when you turn the unit on it will start steaming within 5 minutes and I found that to be very accurate.
UNIT: The hood it very big so if you have big hair you don't have to worry about all of your hair getting treatment. If you hair comes past your shoulders you are going to want to pin it up so your ends get the steam. The directions say put the unit on high until it begins to steam then turn it to low to save energy. I prefer to keep it on high because I felt the steam got to my roots better on high than on low. BTW I just did the BC so my hair is short now and I am a 4A. As others have mentioned the water container does not have a fill line. I filled mine to wear the container starts to indent. I think next time I will do it a little below the indent. I ran the unit for 30 minutes and still had plenty of water left in the container (see the picture I posted). The hood is a bit stiff when trying to tilt it back and down so be careful with that.
DRIPPING/LEAKING: This unit leaked in 3 places. The first place it leaked was from the water container underneath the unit. The reason it leaked was becuase the water was boiling and it just boiled over a little. The second place it leaked was from the front of the hood when it was in the down position. I used the unit with the hood vents closed. Next time I will try with them semi opened and see if that helps with this issue. It leaked from the front of the unit one drop about every 15 seconds. If you position the hood in the tilted back position it will not leak. I did not like this position because I felt my whole head wasn't getting the full effect of the steam. Simply place a towel around your shoulders and you will be fine. The third place it leaked was from under the black part of the main unit. That leakage was just condensation not much you can do about that. None of the leakage was excessive but if you are using the unit on your carpet or hardwoods, just place a towel on the floor and that will care for it. The unit does have a condensation catch unit for the hood (see picture I posted).
HAIR RESULTS: My hair is very very dry because I had a weave for awhile and didn't take care of my hair while it was in the weave. My 4A hair was so soft after treatment it felt like soft cotton. I also have gray hair around my temples and if anyone has gray hair you KNOW how wiry and difficult those hairs can be. Well, even those bad boys were soft after a 30 minute treatment. My plan is to steam my hair 1x per week. Following treatment I put grapeseed oil in my hair and braided it up for the night.
Since this is my first time using it I cannot speak on how well it lasts, but if this sucka does break I will RUN back to this review and update. At this point I would recommend this unit. I enjoyed my at-home steam treatment.
