At first, as Ava wrote it was low and lowest, I soon realized that if you.turned the dial with a coin to switch the voltage from 230 to 120 its goes into turbo.heat and speed, just like a regular hair dryer. Hope this helps.

As others have said here, you need to turn the power setting to the higher setting by turning the "screw" with a screw driver, or coin, or whatever works. For some reason, I could not find this info in the instruction manual. I tried to turn it before even seeing this review, but I didn't want to break it. I thought there must be a way to increase the voltage. It is supposed to be 1,000 watts, so I figured it was either broken or just crap. But after reading these reviews, I went back to the dryer and was able to turn the settings to the higher voltage, which definitely made the difference. t's a small compact dryer that folds even smaller and travels well. The higher setting is adequate for short hair and a normal dude's needs.

I saw this on Groupon and figured what the hay! It's very little compared to my old one that died. First test disappointed me because it was so weak, I switched it to the highest setting (230V) and it started SMOKING! Returned it right away, not worth the money at all!

Fortunately I bought this for $20 off a groupon. Who the crap would pay $90 for this? At best, it is a jumbo dryer for a Barbie. The 2 speeds are Low and Lowest. I'll still use it because I PAID FOR IT.
