I was skeptical about the ceramic disk/ion feature, that it would actually reduce the static electricity, fly-aways & frizzies and make my hair shinier and more manageable. How could a thing that blows air do all that? I knew I needed to look for something new though because after using my old blow dryer, my medium thick, wavy, frizzy fly-away hair was not presenting itself in a pretty way but just looking worse and worse. Any grade of shampoo and conditioner didn't seem to make a big difference overall. It got to be where I just dreaded the task of doing my hair. After using this Conair dryer one time, my crown of glory was good enough to go as-is if I didn't have time to use the flat iron. This is a 100% improvement over my old-no-special-features blow dryer which has been retired to probably dry pets and mittens and boots or whatever. Now after using this Conair almost daily for about a month, I wish I had learned about the technology way sooner and saved myself a lot of angst over how to tame my hair. I love this blow dryer and that it came with three attachments (I don't know which I like best), that it is light weight, has a sufficient length cord, dries my hair quickly, isn't overly loud, and most of all that I can SEE that my hair is in better condition.

So after my beloved blowdryer of 9 years took a dump, I was forced to try a new blowdryer. I was less then thrilled about this because in the past 9 years, I had tried using a few blowdryers and all of them were returned the following day after using. I have very thick, somewhat wavey hair and nothing besides my aged blowdryer had seemed to dry my hair in a decent amount of time. After my old faithful started burning my hands, I had no choice but to venture out and find something new. I bought this conair blowdryer last night and honestly, I wasnt looking forward to drying my hair this morning but let me tell you... I am SOOOO happy about purchasing this dryer. I used the "straightner" attachment this morning and it works wonders! Although it didnt leave it straighter iron straight, it left it smooth enough to not need the straightner, not to mention it dried my hair in record time and the different heat settings are awesome! I paid $19.00 for it at Walmart and this was such a bargain purchase. Im VERY happy with my hairs texture after using this and im excited to try the other attachments.

My 10 year-old Conair just died so I bought this model. So far it has been perfect. The airflow is great. I love the temperature settings with the cool shot. I mainly use the straightening attachment which is perfect. This works just as well as the $150 ones at the salon.

When looking to purchase a tripod to use in salon training sessions with my associate stylist, I ran across the "Styling Buddy". I couldn't wait to give it a try because the pictures that were posted with it were so "unique". Although my styling chairs are not square back (they are rounded) it still works perfectly & with NO damage to my chairs! (They are adjustable according to the thickness of the chair back). I had an in salon continuing education class for my staff (20+ stylists)this past week & can I just say there were tripods everywhere... They are "leggy" & "flimsy" & just in the way. We all needed the styling mirrors for use with our mannequins in class & MY styling buddy was AWESOME! It was not in the way, it fit right over the back of my hydraulic chair & I adjusted the height as needed... Our educator was very impressed with it as well! ;) I am ordering more as we speak! I LOVE it! It appears so simple, I'm not sure why it wasn't around a lot sooner... KUDOS to someone out there! ~:o)

This is the best device for training. I use it all the time. I take alot of classes and not everyone has tripods for students. This fits on any chair. And when its on your styling chair it gives you a realistic idea of working on a client. Love it. If you are a student or seasoned stylist its definitely a must have.

This dryer was great for about 3 months, if that, and then it started making a terrible grinding noise. I took it back to the store thinking I got a lemon and they exchanged it immediately when they turned it on ans heard the sound. The second one I had for maybe 6 months before it started making the exact same noise. My husband took it apart to see if he could find the source and it seems the reason is due to th cheap plastic blades inside rub against the casing. There was nothing he could do to fix it, and so I am going to attempt to return/complain and then make sure I come home with a babyliss instead. My previous hair dryer (babyliss pro 2800) lasted for nearly 10 years without failure... Until my cat knocked it off the counter and broke it.

I was looking for a high quaulity hair dryer and had higher expectations for this one considering the cost. I can't see a difference between this one and the one I bought at the drug store. It does not have nearly as much power as I had expected. It may take some time to get used to it but so far I am not impressed.

The company was great though. The first one I receved was broken and they sent a new one before I could get the broaken dryer back to them.

I had a less expensive dryer before this that worked just as well for less cost. I purchased this one less than a year ago, and mine also makes an annoying sound. Today it stopped blowing the hot air, my hair was barely even moving. So I am sending it in under the warranty for repair. Also, I blow dry my hair maybe once a week (naturally curly), so I am sure it has been used less than 50 times in a year.

After searching for a hair dryer brush that rotated I thought I had found it, but I did not. In spite of the ad's statement : "Rotating vented barrel releases tangle-free curls" this brush does not rotate unless you manually turn it. I contacted the company that sold it inquiring how to it to activate rotation & their reply was as follows..... 'Item description states "Rotating vented barrel releases tangle-free curls". If you still have any more questions please let us know.' I didn't feel this answered my question & thought they misunderstood it. I called them & & discovered they understood perfectly what I was asking in my email because by phone they immediately informed me the brush doesn't rotate, but there is a button to push to untangle hair. I suggested they remove the word 'rotating' from their ad because it's very misleading & they said that it is put in by Amazon & they have no control over it. I feel the ad is very misleading & would not have purchased it if it was clearly explained.

I got this haridryer as a replacement for my t3 Evolution ($300 and overheated constantly). My hairdresser had a Babyliss one, and I wasn't ready to spend that much money on a hairdryer again, so after some research I chose this one. I love it. I'm nuts about this hairdryer. A major step up from the drugstore clunkers I've always had! It's very comfortable to hold and feels well put together and sturdy, even though it's light in weight.

Compact, but extremely powerful, so it dries quickly. The buttons are set into the handle a bit, so you don't change speeds or heat accidentally. There's both a cool setting and a cool-shot button. The settings are well regulated, so the heat is hot without burning and does not dry out my hair, but leaves it soft and silky.

The cord is super long and has a little loop built into it near the handle, so you could hang it if you wanted to. No more ugly black cord -wonderful!

It's a pearly sort of white. Nifty.

Best of all, it's much quieter than any hairdryer I've ever had. No screeching background sound. I was starting to use earplugs with my old hairdryer; with this one, that is not at all necessary.

I've owned a lot of hairdyers in my life. This is the best ever.

I have never believed that a device that just blows air has been worth the kind of money the salon dryers cost--i admit it. I recently got my shoulder length hair cut into an angled bob, which requires me to actually style my hair as opposed to the "ponytail every day" habit that I had fallen into. As such I was really frustrated with my Conair $40 dryer, even though it was "ionic.". My newly short hair still took a long time to dry and I couldn't get it smooth with a good round brush, so I was having to use my chi straightening iron after I blew it out and still wasn't thrilled. I was at a friend's house when she got her daughter out of the bath and watched her blow her thick,super-long hair dry in less time than it was taking me to get my short hair dry at home. It was this Babyliss dryer. So I ran home, found it on amazon for much less than retail, ordered it with Prime shipping on Friday and have been waiting. I took my daughter to swim class this morning with dirty hair and a hat because I knew this was being delivered this afternoon! So it arrives, I shoo the kids into the basement, and washed my hair. I decided to try it with no product, just my normal shampoo and conditioner. HOLY SMOKES. It took quite literally 5 or 6 minutes TOPS from sopping wet and then towel dried to styled. And I mean STYLED. I look like I paid for a blowout, my hair is shiny and bouncy and looks so healthy! My 6 year old has the same haircut as me and I can't wait till her bath tonight to blow dry her hair, lol! I can't say anything yet about how long it wil last, but I am currently 100% thrilled with this product! I always have thought it was more technique than the tool, but I can't believe how fast and easy it was to get my hair looking like I went to a Blow-Dry bar! I never would have thought the dryer could make such a difference! If you're a skeptic like me...Try it!

I was looking for a good hair dryer and read many reviews and decided to go with this dryer. The reviews said that their hair was shiner along with faster drying time, etc. Well, the first time I used it I was amazed! I honestly didn't think it was possible for a hair dryer to actually make your hair shiner and softer. I love products, make-up, face/body, hair, etc. and I have not been this happy with a purchase for a very long time, if ever. I can't say enough about this hair dryer. It's lighter but has great power to dry your hair faster and my hair was extremely shiny and so much softer. I just couldn't believe it and never thought that was possible from a hair dryer!! All my other hair dryers left my hair dry and gross until products and straightening helped to make it feel better. And I use really good products and take good care of my hair. The Super Solano X hair dryer is worth the price. I've had mine over a year (maybe 2) and originally bought it for the long power cord, power output, and versatile settings. The filter ring that holds the screen on the back of the unit broke recently, so I searched for replacement parts online. I got fearful when I couldn't find any. So, I contacted the Solano via their website and got an automated email reply that I'd receive a response on 72 hours. Well, only 2 hours later I received a personal reply stating they'd ship a replacement part to me that day. There was no charge, not even a shipping fee. This was a replacement for my previous Super Solano dryer, which lasted 10+ years, so my expectations were pretty well-set. If you have dry hair, this product is for you. It is a little expensive, but you only have to use a very small amount, so a 4oz jar last about 6 months. By the way, my daughter recommend this product to me. She is a woman of color and before she found this product, nothing worked as well without spending quite a bit more cost.

I have the travel version for Amika and the power is a bit low. I bought this one thinking this may suit better for my need. First off, this is very heavy. Second of all, this is only 110V which means you can't take it to other non-110V country. On the other hand, the travel set has a setting for it. I would think most of the devices nowadays have automatic 110/240V switch without the worries about damaging the electronic.

This hair dryer has all the features I was looking for.

Pros: It really is very lightweight and quiet; It gets very hot (necessary for my hair); There are two speeds and two heat settings; The cool button stays down when you press it. (Although I didn't realize that this would be an advantage, it is a lot easier to set in a style when you don't have to hold down the cool button.)

Cons: It's a little hard to work the buttons because they are on the back of the handle. I'm used to controling them with my finger tips. I'm getting used to using my other hand to push the buttons. Also, I wish it were a little smaller to carry on trips, but the light weight makes up for this.

Update: June, 2012: Hairdryer stopped working after a few months. I contacted the company, but did not hear back. Too bad. It was a very nice dryer.

While this is an excellent, well-known and trusted brand, this dryer was a huge disappointment for me. I own other Hot Tools hair products and love them, so when I needed a replacement for my Chi blowe dryer, I went with this Hot Tools Professional dryer. The "multiple heat/speed settings" consist of high or low. Even the "high" temp and speed is extremely slow. I have fine hair, and it took forever to dry my hair. The locking cool shot is nice, but how long do most people need the cool shot? The concentrator is not adjustable to different angles. It locks in place, and there's no adjusting it to a different angle. I found the controls on the back of the handle to be awkward, too. I cannot figure how they advertise right on the box that this dryer "reduces drying time up to 50%." It added at least 50% to my drying time. I guess the 50% depends on what you are comparing it to as far as drying time and/or brand. It is a fairly quiet dryer, so if that is your only criteria, it might work for you. I have gone back to a Chi; once again, it did not disappoint.

This unit is much quieter than any other dryer I have heard. I think the reason is that the fan inside turns slower and does not produce the bothersome high pitch whine noise. That alone is worth the price of the unit, but it is also well built and I think it will last a long time. Works great.

I had really wanted the Rusk Speed Freak because I'd used it and loved it, but the price was just too much for me. So I bought this one and am ok with it, but not thrilled. I also don't like where the controls are located. My hand accidentally turns them off at least once each time I'm using it.
