I had thought that the 'ionic' thing was mostly hype, but started using this product a couple of years ago out of curiosity. My entire life, I have had naturally curly, flyaway hair that was annoyingly prone to frizzing and just generally difficult to manage. I wasn't sure if it was this dryer that had finally started smoothing out my hair, or if it was rather the newer conditioners and styling cremes I had found.
When the ionic brush dryer I was using recently 'died', I was unable to find a replacement in any local stores. So, instead, I bought one that looked exactly the same that wasn't ionic, thinking it really wouldn't make any difference. Boy, was I wrong!!! Immediately, I was again dealing with split ends, frizzies, and flyaway hair.
There HAS to be something to 'ionic' hairdryers that really DOES make a difference, as I changed nothing else. Being the scientific person that I am, I repeated this unplanned 'experiment' at least 3 times. When I use this product, my hair is noticeably silkier, shinier, and bouncier...with healthy waves that hold (I have somewhat thick hair.) The round brush/dryer style also dries my hair much quicker than the way I used to do it for years (with round brushes and typical pistol-style dryers), and with much less arm-fatigue. The heated air dries it from the 'inside out' which styles it at the same time, eliminating my previous need for the use of a curling iron or hot rollers to create soft waves/curls after drying.
I plan to keep a spare one hand for the next time one dies on me suddenly. (I feel like 2 years was a good life, considering the use it got.)
I highly recommend this hair dryer if you have hair like mine.
All in all, I would recommend purchasing this dryer. Price is right for a good dryer.

I've used hot air brushes for a couple years. This works better than my last. The low setting and the larger brush works better for me. The high setting blows the hair off the bristles. It's nice having the small brush option for different styles though. I had my straight, fine hair cut to shoulder length recently and have to do some magic with a brush and gel, so I decided to try this tool instead of the old two-handed brush-and-hairdryer routine. I debated and debated about which hairdryer to buy, and finally, based on reviews, I chose this one. I waited until I'd used it a few times to review it, and here are my findings: This dryer does dry your faster, and I can get some really nice, smooth curls with it. I don't find it to be too loud, compared with the dinosaur of a dryer I was replacing when I bought this one. When I read in the reviews that people were having trouble avoiding the on/off switch while drying, I thought, "Ok, now that I know it, I won't do it". Well guess what? There's no way TO avoid it. Although it's no biggie, a better design is definitely in order. You WILL turn the dryer off by accident while using it. Now, the ionic part...I will have to say, my hair feels different when I use this, but, I'm not sure I like how it feels. However, it's winter, and I've got all kinds of static going on, so I'll have to reserve that opinion for later this year.All in all, I would recommend purchasing this dryer. Price is right for a good dryer.

I have been using this flat iron for almost a year and have liked it for the most part. It gets very hot and keeps it's heat fairly well. The adjustable temp is nice, too. The rounded edges are perfect for hair styles that flip up or under without having to use the curling iron as well. I could only give it three stars instead of four because my hair gets caught in the edge where the iron meets the plastic housing. This is a common problem with this brand from what my stylist says. It could be more prone with my type of hair...long and wavy/coarse. However, if you want a good ceramic flat iron at a decent price, this is a good choice.

I just bought this iron and it is the greatest one I have ever used. I usually go to a professional to get my hair styled but I wanted this one to use in between visits. At first I was going to buy the HAI one until the store I went to didn't carry that brand. I looked at this one and it was the same exact iron just with a lower price! I was a little skeptical at first because of this but by skepticism went out the window when I used it. My hair looked like it was professionally styled! My hair usually gets frizzy by the end of the day but not with this iron. It even curls your hair! I had a nice flipped hairstyle in no time, and the day after, I used it again and got a nice straight do. This iron heats up very quickly and did not burn my thin and freshly relaxed hair. It even has grooves on the outside of the iron that act as a comb when you turn it to curl the ends of your hair. I am very happy with this product. The only thing I wish is that I would have bought it off of this website first. I paid $50 at the beauty supply store. I was trying to replace my old flat iron with a better one and I came across this one from hot tools. My hairdresser had used it once on me and it seemed to do a really good job straightening my coarse, thick, wavy (not curly) hair. IT WILL STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR! You won't have much left in the back anymore because of the design flaws. The plates are set into the plastic handle and there is just enough room in between the handle and plate to catch a chunk of hair , especially when working on parts of your head you cannot see like the back.The hair will not come out and you must pull the torture device from your head ripping and shreading your hair. I must add I have been straightening my hair for many years (even before it was so fashionable), so I know what I am doing. No amount of practice or years of experience will help you out of this one. If Hot Tools redesigned this it would be a great product but until then STAY AWAY !!! I am going to cough up $ 100 plus for a chi! ciao.

I hate to be the only negative in the bunch, but this is my second of these irons and both lasted about a year. It's been 9 months since I purchased this one and the heat still works fine, but the ceramic coating is almost completely off, which is very damaging to the hair. This is the same problem I had with the prior model, but I felt sure that they would have improved them, so I bought a second one. I also agree with the other reviewers who reported their hair getting caught in this iron. For my third iron, I'm going to try a different brand.

I recently found this Garnier product in my local Target and decided to purchase it. I had read previous reviews about another similar Garnier product called "The Blow Dry Perfector Kit," and was completely horrified by all the reviews I read. I thank my lucky stars that I did not try that product out myself, otherwise I am quite convinced that I would be bald. The vast majority of the people who used "The Blow Dry Perfector Kit" had a terrible experience which resulted in having the product completely ruin their hair. That being said, this product is something new that actually delivers promising results -not fried, broken, or damaged hair, but instead, it helps with giving you sleek, smooth, frizz-free hair. Not to mention SOFT hair!
My hair type is baby-fine hair that has a wave to it, and I don't have very much of it at all. I have bleached highlights in my hair & its shoulder-length. My hair also tends to frizz in the humidity, and I wrestle my hair with a blow-dryer and flat iron daily to get it completely straight. I picked this product up because of two reasons: 1) it did NOT say anywhere on the package that is "wasn't safe" for chemically treated/colored/highlighted hair, and 2) the product said that it contained Argan Oil, which I've always had great results with in the past.
Since I have such thin hair, I decided to first try out a pea-sized amount (well, more like the amount of 2 peas). I ran this product through damp, towel-dried hair. It had a creamy consistency and looked almost like a lotion for your hair. The scent was pleasant, not over-bearing in the least. I then blow dried my hair and was very pleased with the results. It made my hair very smooth without that "greasy" or heavy feeling. Since I have such fine hair, too much of any product seems to make it greasy/weight it down, but this hair creme certainly did not. I do think, however, that if you were to use TOO much of this product, that it might become greasy. It also made my hair feel very soft/supple, and it also seemed to completely tame the little frizzies & fly-aways that I have throughout my hair, or especially wherever I part my hair. Again, please note that this product is NOT the same as "The Blow Dry Perfector Kit" that had all the horrible reviews (which contains two bottles/products) -this is simply a leave-in styling aid that is like a creme/lotion made for your hair. This product is definitely worth a try!

I love love this product!!!! I am bi racial (black and white) and after getting my hair wet it is usually very frizzy. So I picked this up at target for like 3 dollars and I used it after treating my hair with extra virgin coconut oil and shampooing and conditioning with olive oil brand shampoo and aussie 3 minute miracle. After this process I used this product to blow dry and it turned out beautifully probably about 70% less frizzy and this made flat ironing sooooo much easier!!!! For a $5 hair care product, this is definitely the best!! I have used other straightening creams, cheap and salon expensive ones, and this definitely works for me.I have dry, thick, and frizzy hair. I wash my hair with Tresememe shampoo and conditioner. I use the flowing products on my wet hair: straightening cream, Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner, and a John Frieda anti-frizz serum. When I used the other straightening creams, and then used a flat iron to straighten it, my hair was still dry and frizzy. Of course, the dryness and frizziness got worse as the day went on.
I brought this product on a whim. I didn't know about it. I already was using a salon brand product, and the suave and John Frieda straightening creams that were sitting on my book shelf weren't working either. The first time I used it, I saw and felt the difference. My hair was soft, manageable, and remained straight throughout the day. My sister even noticed the difference!!! I wash my hair every other day because of the dryness. When I did wash my hair after using this project, but did not add any products to my hair and let it dry naturally, I noticed that my hair was still soft and manageable. I will continue to us this product, in combination with the other products, and hopefully it continues to give me the same results. I definitely would recommend this product!!

I bought this after reading so many good reviews and was hoping it would cut down on my blow dry time and provide smoother results for my wavy hair (I have VERY fine/thin hair that is a combo of wavy and straight-ish and frizzes easily, but is able to be strightened with some work). I don't know what i'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to get this to work for me. I've tried using varying amounts and still don't see where it does anything for my particular hair. It doesn't speed up my drying time at all, and I feel as if it almost makes my hair frizzier and leaves it with a weird texture, not at all smooth and silky. It also didn't hold up to humidity whatsoever. I'll stick to using Moroccan oil serum because it does help with speeding up dry time and providing nice texture (so long as you don't use too much serum). Just wanted something that would help straighten it better so it wouldn't be completely necessary to use a flat iron anymore.However, I DO like to use this when I wear my hair in it's natural waves. Since it does have some argan oil in it, it helps a little with the frizzies, but I especially like it because it helps straighten out the waves a little so they're more "beachy". It helps softly define them and when I use it in combination with my leave in conditioner, I can leave it air dry and get nice results.
It's not expensive and there's alotta people who love it, so it's worth a shot. If nothing else, most stores will let you return something if you don't like it.

I have very frizzy hair, especially after washing. This product actually worked ; it calmed my hair and made it look stright, in fact I didn't have to use a flat iron. So yeah, it is a great product which works excellently. The price is really affordable too for what the product does.

It took me a while to actually use the dryer, but when I finally did I was pleased. The air pressure is stong and the comb attachment does very well with my natural hair-no pulling or snapping of the hair. Even on the cool setting for straight weave hair the dryer worked well. My only request would be for Conair to manufacture this same dryer with a medium setting along with the high and low.

These curlers are soft, easy to put in, and are very similar to the "spoolies" from the 1950s! I ordered these for my 7-year-old daughter, who slept comfortably with them in her hair. The only issue I had was that it didn't hold her baby-fine hair too well; some of the curlers came unwound a little bit within a half hour (didn't stay tight to her head like I wanted). Product was not quite what I expected. Wanted to use on short hair for a pin curl look. Unfortunately most of the curlers were for long hair and would not hold. Sizes are hard to tell from picture. This is made completely of plastic. From the pictures, there appeared to be metal. The description of the product does not provide the material. The product box also does not reveal the type of plastic. Amazon needs to provide additional detail on this product. If you are okay with plastic to hold a hot hair dryer, this might be okay. I do not feel safe using it to hold a hot hair dryer that has been in use. It's headed back.

I purchased this dryer about 10 months ago and it took me a bit of time to become accustomed to it, but overall I liked it. I'm giving it 3 stars because it only lasted 10 months before it gave up on the heat. I am currently searching for another blow dryer I didn't want to purchase the same one because it didn't last. So, as I have already retuned my first purchase to the store and will return my second choice as well, I realize that I really miss this hair dryer and I may just have to bite the bullet and purchase another and hope that my first one was a fluke. I really like the lowest setting for when I am doing those finishing touches to my styling, as the air flow is very light and doesn't blow your style all over the place, like the models with only high and low settings. I miss it it is light weight and compact. I have found other blow dryers to either be too heavy, too long, and too awkward. I have fine hair but a lot of it and my hair stylists always complain when they blow dry my hair, but this hair dryer can get it done in about 10 minutes and it is the first one that makes my hair smooth and shiny without any fuzziness. So, my decision is to purchase another one and buy the extended warranty.

I have had quite a few blow dryers and this one is by far the best! The different hair type settings make sure you easily choose which heat will dry your hair the fastest. This product cut my drying time significantly. With that being said I have not even had any problems with the heat in the year that I have had it. I saw the Gold N Hot Elite Smart Heat Dryer on the view. I was instantly attracted to the idea that it would be specific to different hair types. I was disappointed. The only difference is the wording. Instead of having low, medium, medium high, high setting there are synthetic, very fine,medium, and coarse. I did not notice any difference between this smart hair dryer and my old hair dryer. I would have sent it back but I did not want to be out the money for the restocking fee.

My hair has a natural wave, is fine to normal,and super frizzy. The fact that I live in Virginia where the climate is super humid in the summer, definitely does not help with the frizz. Now having said that, I do not believe ANY product aside from a chemical straightner could ever COMPLETELY combat the EXTREME humidity that I am exposed to every day. So if you live in this sort of climate, you may have a few fly-aways BUT ONLY A FEW. And if you live in dry heat or if it's winter you will be THRILLED with the results! I am over the moon happy with this one..hope this helps! ;-)

I purchased this hair dryer as a Christmas present for my wife. So far, she is happy with it and says that it works good. But I noticed some language in the Owner's Manual that I wanted to warn everyone about. I generally don't write reviews, but I was blown away by this hair dryer (no pun intended). It's truly an engineering feat that this hair dryer possesses the characteristics of being both powerful and quiet while simultaneously having an EXTREMELY low weight. (This last characteristic became important to me when, at one point, while using my SuperSolano, my neck suddenly went out while drying my hair one morning not fun!)Upon my initial use of the CHI Rocket, it seemed that it had very little power, but before I knew it, my hair was dry AND smooth (my hair type is wavy and very long), and I wasn't working very hard to get it that way; I would surmise that it cut my drying time by 30% 40%. Also (and possibly more importantly), upon waking the following morning, my hair still looked great and I usually have to wash my hair every single morning, without fail. Given that this time of the year is the most humid, the results of my "morning test" become even more impressive.
For the Amazon price, this dryer seems that it would be a good investment, given it is a tool that I usually must use on a daily basis (saves time,time is money, and all that jazz). I generally am extremely skeptical about a beauty product's or tool's scientific claims (ion technology, biochemical therapeutic claims, etc.) given that my background is in the sciences, so I know that half of the claims are false or can be achieved by a $3 product/tool competitor, but someone knew what they were doing when they designed this puppy, so I'm more apt to believe that it's better for hair health as well; what is definitely true is that cutting drying time will save some hair damage.

I am African American with unrelaxed, mixed texture hair (kinky/curly). This dryer worked really well on the low setting. I tried to use the high setting (setting II), but couldn't stand the heat. I've used it only twice but it makes a huge difference when compared to my old $20 dryer. It was quick and left my hair feeling great. I purchased this dryer solely because it was touted as being low EMF. It maxes out the TriField meter (which measures EMF) at the plug as well as at the appliance itself. It dries hair very nicely so does the dryer I bought at Walmart, which by the way has a lower EMF reading on the meter.I bought =the TriField Meter to test the EMF in our home and found it where I didn't expect it!! Clock Radio, cordless satellite phone, hair dryer, dimmer switch for light over kitchen table all off the charts.
BEWARE if you are purchasing this primarily for LOW EMF it doesn't deliver.

This is the best blowdryer I have ever purchased. Usually I research items online before I go buy an item like this, but I was in desperate need I went to the closest salon to see what dryers they were selling and they had this one only. She said all her customers love it, I can see why. It is easy to operate, so much quieter than my old dryer, and dries my hair quickly w/o it getting too dry and overblown. I am now going to check out the other Chi products, too.

My hair dresser uses this dryer and it is rated as one of the best. I bought this dryer from Amazon and it never ever worked or even turned on. I called FHI warranty and they would not replace it because Amazon is not a certified dealer. My warranty paper work in the box did not state the item had to be from a certified dealer however the web site did. I have made other purchases from Amazon with great success, this must have been one of the odd ones. The item was returned.

This is a GREAT hairdryer!! This is my 2nd time buying this dryer because I loved the first one so much. The picture for this is incorrect however. Everything is the same except it does not have the red heat button.. but I honestly have never known why you would need it anyway. This dryer is so lightweight! It is awesome for professional hairstylists having to do multiple blowdrys everyday (As I am a professional). It gets the hair so smooth and makes it so soft. I would definitely recommend this hairdryer to ANYONE! Whether you have straight, curly, frizzy, dull, etc. hair, it is perfect! This dryer is light and powerful. Two problems I have is when it gets hot the diffuser and concentrater pop off and they are really hot. I am a cosmetologist and several years ago I ordered the FHI Nano 1900 hair dryer through my sales rep. When That dryer quit working I got online looking to replace it. Of course finding this dryer listed at this price I jumped to buy it right away but just a heads up to all... this dryer should have a blue button for a cool shot and a red button for a heat shot. The item that this company sends does not have the red button for a heat shot! The box this dryer comes in is the same picture as the dryer in it but the picture on this item listing is incorrect. DO NOT BUY THIS DRYER!! IT WILL NOT LAST AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO BREAK ON YOU. EVENTUALLY YOUR WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE AND THEN YOU WILL BE LEFT WITH A BROKEN DRYER. This is the worst hair dryer ever, plus FHI Heat has the worst customer service. I bought the Nano from my hair salon. After 4 months of normal use, the air flow decreased to almost half. I sent the dryer into FHI to get repaired/exchanged, which costed me another $15 plus shipping. They sent me a new dryer, which stopped working after 10 months. There was a weird sound and then the air no longer flowed through the dryer. I talked to OSCAR at FHI's customer service department, who told me that he reports to the CEO. Oscar told me that there was nothing they could do, then proceeded to blame me as if I had dropped the dryer. FHI would not replace or repair the dryer. I paid $120 for this dryer and expected it to last me years, not break TWICE after only 1.5 years!! I had to go back to using my $19 REVLON hair dryer that is lasting 10 times longer than the FHI Nano.
