My husband bought this as a Christmas gift for me (ok..so I may have emailed him the exact link but that's besides the point) and I am very, very pleased with how it performs. I always looked at drying my hair as a tedious chore but now I almost look forward to that part of my day, given the fact that my hair ends up looking so nice by the time I am through wielding this little baby.

PROS:

HEAT-

This sucker gets hot! It has multiple temperature settings but I usually leave it on the hottest setting. The fact that it can get so hot helps cut down the drying time significantly and it adds a nice shine to your hair (just be careful not to hold it in one spot for too long...ouch!). There is also a cold-air button that instantly blows out cold air (admittedly, a feature that most dryers have..but this is an instant temperature change and the air is COLD).

POWER-

This dyer is extremely powerful..noticeably more so than any dryer I've ever owned. I couldn't believe how quickly it dried my hair the first time I tried it out.

QUIETER THAN MOST DRYERS-

One thing I noticed right away is how quiet the dryer is. In fact, I didn't think I had it on the highest setting because I was so used to my last dyer being a roaring machine. Turned out, it really is that quiet!

ATTACHMENTS-

Both attachments are really nice..particularly the gold nozzle attachment. It concentrates the air stream and really helps to smooth any frizzies you may have. Note..this attachment gets extremely hot so do NOT touch it with your bare hands right after use. The other attachment is a similar concentrator nozzle but it's black plastic and does not get quite as hot.

CONS:

PRICE-

This dryer is decidedly pricey..although I think if you search around, you can find it for less than $75 and I think it's worth it.

WEIGHT-

The fact that this dryer is powerful and well constructed also means that it is pretty heavy. But I have severe back problems and this dryer isn't so heavy that it's uncomfortable for me to use.

Love the product...but *Caution* When I received the product from Amazon, it was the wrong (and cheaper) model dryer in the right packaging. I eventually received the correct model but thought it was rather deceptive of Amazon to do this switch.

A great product for anyone who uses a hairdryer for consistent and extended periods of time. Also, wonderful for people who have hair that is difficult to straighten. The motor is more powerful than the average over the counter hairdryer and the air is much hotter than the average hair dryer. Due to it's power and air temp, this product makes hair drying and styling much quicker and easier than using a typical hairdryer. A bit pricey, but totally worth it!

I purchased this color for my sister. It is a beautiful, buttery blonde. She was using a permanent hair color, I talked her into trying a Redken demi color. She said she would try it. I would like to mention, she had at one time, very long hair. She ended up cutting it all off, due to the damage that permanent hair dye had done to it. She tried Redken, and immediately could feel a difference. Her hair was so soft, shiny and healthy looking:D She said it didn't burn her eyes, it smelled wonderful, and her hair felt amazing after she washed it. It normally felt like straw. Cheap Conair BC173 Professional Tourmaline Ceramic Wet & Dry Straightener

This blow-dryer is no different than any other blow-dryer. I'm an African American female with natural coarse Type A hair that goes to my shoulders when wet in it's natural state and goes to the middle of my back when straightened.. The are two different heat temperatures, one high and one low and one cold air temp. The lowest heat does absolutely nothing, and the highest temp makes your hair smoke. Now I'm not saying that this blow-dryer doesn't work for other hair types, but for type 4a-4c hair, this blow-dryer is a no no!!!!! This is pretty much like all other cheap blow-dryers, but it makes your hair smoke alot. I tried this blow-dryer on my hair in two different ways, the first way was with product and the second way was without any product in my hair, it was just not right for my hair, because it doesn't straighten it. I mean, it stretches the hair out a little when your hair is naturally curly, but by no means does it straighten it. You most definitely would have to use a flat iron on your hair to make it straight. Would i recommend this product to other. Yes, possibly, but not for anyone with type 4a-4c hair. I know it has the capability to do what it's suppose to, but only for certain hair types.

This is the fourth or fifth time I have purchased this dryer/straightener. It works quickly and easily. My naturally wavy hair is always in a beautifully straight and shiny bob style within less than 10 minutes. The only problem is that I tend to burn the dryer out after about 8-12 mos.

I purchased the conair infiniti about 3 weeks ago and love it. I have used it almost every day since purchasing. I've had lots of compliments on my hairstyle since I've been using the infiniti. I actually had to take it to work to show other women. Several of my coworkers purchased the product after seeing how it works. I'm not young and my hair is thinning, but tends to get frizzy after blow drying. No more!! The infiniti gives me very smooth shiny hair. I'm a klutz and this appliance is very easy to use. I have not been able to master the "flip" but don't really need to. I would recommend this product to anyone with short to medium length hair. It's especially great for the current "bob" hairstyles. I have been using this flat iron for almost a year and have liked it for the most part. It gets very hot and keeps it's heat fairly well. The adjustable temp is nice, too. The rounded edges are perfect for hair styles that flip up or under without having to use the curling iron as well. I could only give it three stars instead of four because my hair gets caught in the edge where the iron meets the plastic housing. This is a common problem with this brand from what my stylist says. It could be more prone with my type of hair...long and wavy/coarse. However, if you want a good ceramic flat iron at a decent price, this is a good choice.

I just bought this iron and it is the greatest one I have ever used. I usually go to a professional to get my hair styled but I wanted this one to use in between visits. At first I was going to buy the HAI one until the store I went to didn't carry that brand. I looked at this one and it was the same exact iron just with a lower price! I was a little skeptical at first because of this but by skepticism went out the window when I used it. My hair looked like it was professionally styled! My hair usually gets frizzy by the end of the day but not with this iron. It even curls your hair! I had a nice flipped hairstyle in no time, and the day after, I used it again and got a nice straight do. This iron heats up very quickly and did not burn my thin and freshly relaxed hair. It even has grooves on the outside of the iron that act as a comb when you turn it to curl the ends of your hair. I am very happy with this product. The only thing I wish is that I would have bought it off of this website first. I paid $50 at the beauty supply store. Oh well it is worth every penny!

I was trying to replace my old flat iron with a better one and I came across this one from hot tools. My hairdresser had used it once on me and it seemed to do a really good job straightening my coarse, thick, wavy (not curly) hair. IT WILL STRAIGHTEN YOUR HAIR! You won't have much left in the back anymore because of the design flaws. The plates are set into the plastic handle and there is just enough room in between the handle and plate to catch a chunk of hair , especially when working on parts of your head you cannot see like the back.

The hair will not come out and you must pull the torture device from your head ripping and shreading your hair. I must add I have been straightening my hair for many years (even before it was so fashionable), so I know what I am doing. No amount of practice or years of experience will help you out of this one. If Hot Tools redesigned this it would be a great product but until then STAY AWAY !!! I am going to cough up $ 100 plus for a chi! ciao.

I try to do small sections but when I get impatient my hair gets caught a lot...I have more broken-off hairs now that I ever have in my life. I am currently looking for a replacement.

I hate to be the only negative in the bunch, but this is my second of these irons and both lasted about a year. It's been 9 months since I purchased this one and the heat still works fine, but the ceramic coating is almost completely off, which is very damaging to the hair. This is the same problem I had with the prior model, but I felt sure that they would have improved them, so I bought a second one. I also agree with the other reviewers who reported their hair getting caught in this iron. For my third iron, I'm going to try a different brand.

I choose Salerm 21 B5 Silk Protein, because it make my hair feel soooo healthy after i wash it and put this leave-in conditioner on it. I love it when i blow dry my hair with the FHI blow dryer, it gives my hair so much body. Once i dry my hair i put maybe a dime size of the Marrakesh hair oil in it and then i flat iron and wrap it. i leave my hair wrap for an hour and comb it down and boi ol boi my hair blow with the wind, looks so full, and bouncy. I will recommend this product to every Stylist in the whole world, and the reason why i gave this products the ratting i did because it deserves it, didn't let me down so i will not down grade it

These travel hair dryers do not have the same WOW-impact that the full size ones so. I bought it as I was tired of being at the peril of hotel hair dryers, and this is compact, but it's as powerful as a standard (though still ok) regular hair dryer. I was hoping for some Parlux va-va-voom from this thing.

Anyhow, it does the trick, I'm just not convinced its worth the hefty price tag. I LOVE the red color and feel good that its Parluxit's just nowhere near as good as the full size Parlux models.

I bought this product because it was highly rated by Good Housekeeping as best lightweight dryer. It is lightweight and easy to handle. Dries fast, even on Low Heat. The fan on-off switch has the Off position in the middle of the rocker... wish it were the Down position. A bit confusing when you are not looking. Also, this would be a fantastic product if the very, very long cord were a retract. The long cord is a real asset.. no doubt about it and it doesn't tangle. I would certainly buy again.

I purchased this hair dryer for my wife who happens to be a professional hair stylist, and I would say that she is very selective (picky) about the products she uses. For her work, similar hair dryers sell for almost $200. Consequently, I thought this was a very good buy. At any rate, so far she loves this product. She uses it at home and has nothing but compliments about the dryer. She even suggested that we should buy one for each of our two daughters for Christmas. So far, a very happy customer!

Overall, this is a very nice hair dryer. It is lightweight, which is a big plus in my book. I gave only 4 stars for 2 issues: 1) noise, and 2) cold-shot button. This is not the noisiest hair dryer I've used, but I do wish it was a bit quieter. Not enough of an issue to make me sorry I bought it. I do really wish, however, that the cold-shot button could be set so you don't have to continually hold it down. My previous hair dryer allowed the button to be set and left, which I liked a lot as I use it frequently. Luckily, the overall lightness of the dryer allows me to hold the button down fairly comfortably.

This product is amazing! My hair was very damaged from over-processing, and I've used it twice and my hair is no longer shedding and looks much healthier. In talking to my stylist, she advised that you can damage your hair by doing protein treatments too often and by not following it up with a good moisturizing conditioner. You must also make sure you close your cuticles after a protein treatment by rinsing with cooler water. So if this product didn't work for you, make sure you're using it correctly, because it definitely stopped my hair from falling out.

My hairstylist recommended this product because my hair started breaking off due to sweating during my intense cardio workouts. Once the DRC was applied to my hair, it IMMEDIATELY stopped breaking. My hairstylist recommended that I apply this treatment to my hair every 4-6 weeks, however it would be expensive going to the hairstylist so I bought it from Amazon.

I was surprised how easy it is to use. Just make sure you follow the directions and don't try to cut corners and your hair will benefit. This product is so good that you will want to use it often, HOWEVER BUYER BEWARE! Do no use DRC more than once a month. Too much of a good thing can be bad. And too much DRC can actually damage your hair, so use in moderation.

Although I have only used it myself once and my hairstylist only applied DRC to my hair once as well, my hair has stopped breaking and my hair has no new breakage. I have long hair and I want to keep it healthy without sacrificing my body by giving up working out and DRC allows me to do this.

I bought this last year after experiencing a lot of shedding from bleaching my Sisterlocks. I use it once a month, rinse it thoroughly, follow it up with a great conditioner from Carol's Daughter, a leaving in conditioner from the Sisterlock brand and essential oils (diluted in water) as a sealant. My hair is very healthy, much longer and has normal shedding. Although moisture contributes to the over health of my hair, the DRC is what repaired the damage and reduced the amount of shedding.

This hair dryer is the third in a series of attempts to find the right hair dryer for my wife, who has long thick hair. The first one was a Vidal Sassoon that had ionic technology, but didn't get near hot enough. She was drying her hair for > 20 minutes.

The second attempt was the Revlon RV469 ceramic, which was much quieter and got hotter, but didn't have much air flow. Also, it is quite heavy. It was better than the first dryer, but not hair drying nirvana.

This dryer (Revlon RV544) has easily cut my wife's drying time in half. She has very thick & long hair, and the high heat setting makes quick work of it. It gets hot enough that I actually tone it down to warm for myself (I have short, thick hair) whenever I have to use the dryer. I think the air flow settings are perfect. The dryer is also nice and light, and fits in a bathroom drawer easily, unlike some of the bulkier models out there.

My wife thinks this is the best dryer she has ever had. We highly recommend it.

I was a skeptic when it came to hairdryers--they all blow air into your hair and it dries, right? Not so! The technology in this hair dryer is tourmaline ionic, meaning it reduces static, frizz, and boosts shine. I had a vidal sassoon before, and a Conair before that, and they were supposedly "ionic" but my hair was still quite a bit frizzy afterwards.

This Revlon is amazing, though--my hair is so straight, sleek, and shiny, without having to apply a bunch of creams or shining sprays. It saves a lot of time! It comes with two attachments (diffuser, concentrator)--I've only used the concentrator to straighten my hair and it takes around six minutes and works effectively.

Also, a HUGE bonus is its lightweight! The comparable Conair version (nearly same price, ionic) is so so much heavier, while this hairdryer is easy to move, so I can pick it up and use it all over my hair.

The only con about this as others have mentioned is that you have to hold it carefully or else your fingers will accidentally turn the hairdryer off--the buttons move easily and are near where you place your fingers to hold it.

Bottom Line: This is the best hairdryer for the price. When I used other hairdryers, my hair is very noticeably frizzier and less shiny compared to this Revlon. It's a reasonable price for the technology, and I definitely recommend it!!

I cannot say enough good things about this dryer! It dries incredibly quickly, is the lightest I have ever owned, and is very reasonably priced. I was going to buy the T3 Tourmaline for nearly 10 times the price, until I realized the seller would not honor its warantee on products purchased through Amazon. I have forever retired my previous ceramic dryer, which strained my arm so much, I considered installing a bracket on my body to hold it up. Other small details that make a difference: loop for hanging; buttons well-placed so on/off and cold setting are not hit by accident; comfortable to hold by nozzle instead of handle if desired.

I first reviewed this product in 2006. I don't use it every day, but it's held up for almost four years. I continue to be pleased with it.

My hair is about waist-length and very thick. It generally takes me 20-30 minutes with other dryers but with this dryer, it took about 10 minutes or less for to dry my hair. And it's light-weight! The diffuser is great too! It lessens the force of the blow dryer...so I guess for all those other reviewers who said this blew too hard, they didn't use the diffuser. In any case, I would highly recommend this dryer to anyone who wants to shorten their blow dryer time!

Just wanted to update and say that I still have this blowdryer and still love it. I don't blowdry my hair often but would still highly recommend this!

I have what can be characterized as "4c" type curls; very kinky, coily hair. I have tried just about every natural hair brand for African-American hair (Shea Moisture, Jane Carter, etc.). This hair lotion is the best I have tried. It stretches out and defines my curls greatly. It is not overly greasy. It keeps my hair very moisturized. It does not flake; even after re-applying daily.
