My wife & I have gone through a lot of Hair Dryers in my time...

This one is one of the Best so far, I have an engineering background and I bet it will last longer then the rest.

The buttons/switches are smaller compared to others, but that's where the strength comes in...these switches will out last all those larger switches, those other larger switches are just covers with little tiny switches underneath that don't last of time.

This Blow Dryer in my opinion is an excellent design, Size and weight are same as others in its category but is more powerful and quite...the power switches are small but super strong, it will outlast other switches.

This dryer is everything I hoped for. As some other reviews say it is a bit heavy, but it is also every wonderful thing everyone says. The thing I like most is I have finer hair that dries pretty fast, so I rarely turn it above 'low' and therefore it's pretty quiet, which I love. I would definitely recommend this dryer!

Almost perfect. This hair dryer is the best.

The only minor things I would change is the annoying 3-position temperature slide bar that has the off position in the middle, the low position on top, and the high position on the bottom. It just seems the off position would be better placed at either the top or bottom of the slide bar. Everytime one wants to change the position from low to high heat output or vice versa, the off position is ill-placed right in the middle of the slide bar. Annoying but workable.

The latter item would be that while the cord is definitely long enough, there is warning not to pass pulling the cord out beyond a colored stripe. It would be helpful to have a pre-warning stripe since the only way to find out where the warning stripe is located is to pull the cord out too far. Oops! So, once a person discovers the maximum length that the cord should be pulled out to by pulling it out too far, it's too late. However, despite the warning, it didn't hurt the product to do this at least not the one time it happened.

The wonderful features to fold this product for easy portability, the retractable cord, and its excellent drying ability, all far outweigh the two mentioned minor annoyances.

I have owned this dryer for about two years now and I have no complaints. It has a good feel in hand while you are using it. The weight is well balanced and the dryer is compact, but not too small. The buttons feel solid and work as they should (even though some people complain about the orientation of the on/off). I especially like that the cord is long enough to have freedom of movement, but still retracts into the handle for easy storage. I have traveled with this dryer and it holds up to frequent trips. I do not think that this dryer is especially noisy compared to other dryers I have owned in the past. As for drying speed, I have long thick hair and it manages to dry my hair in no time. If I need a second dryer or if this one dies (as all eventually do...) I will buy another Revlon RVDR5012.

I go through hair dryers like crazy...I'm always trying to find one that isn't loud, or dries faster, or has a longer cord. I've definitely found the right one at last. This dryer is surprisingly light, and I love the retractable cord on it. It only has one switch with hot/off/low, which is easy to maneuver and doesn't stick. It has a cold shot button, also. I think this dryer dries my hair a little faster than previous models I've tried, but there's not much difference. I love that it's so light...it keeps your arms from getting tired as fast.

I've always liked the retractable cord dryers, since they allow me to keep my storage space a little neater. Also am a fan of the ceramic/ionic units as they do seem to make a bit of a difference for my hair. This dryer works really well, including the ability to (almost) fully retract the cord and fold the unit in half for storage. But I have to give it a little ding in the overall rating because the concentrator attachment does not fit properly and is difficult to use because it falls off repeatedly.

I purchased this heating cap sometime ago. I must say what a disappointment. It does not get hot at all. It starts out at a decent temperature and than it does not get any hotter. Please don't waste you money on this heating cap you will be very disappointed. It also has an empty spot in the back where it does not get hot at all.

I don't think that you can beat this hair dryer for the price. It has a very good fan speed and the heat is instant. The cool button is very convenient. It is light weight. The plastic body, cord and plug are all good quality. The back comes off easily so that you can clean out any collected lint from the lint screen. The little hanger loop lets me keep it close by on the wall without being in the way. I have had it for 2 months, and I will check back in a year and let you know if it is still working.

I have thin hair in the front and i use this piece to add more volume to my existing bangs. The hair is a little bit shinier than my real hair but overall it blends nicely. It's a little bit thick and heavy but after 5 minutes of having it on I forgot I was wearing it. I didn't follow the instruction on the package which was to place the hair piece on top of the head, instead I tucked it under my bangs and it looks more natural that way. Definitely recommend this piece if you want a thicker bangs.

I like the blowdryer. It was nice and hot. My golden retriever loved it and it dried his hair fast. Big disappointment about the included "hands free stand" though. I had imagined they'd including something telescoping and adjustable, a folded up stand that would pull out to full size -which I am defining as high enough to dry a big dog like a golden. That's why I chose this particular product, because I want a tall stand and a good blower. The stand Oster includes is just a little chunk of plastic. You could use it to station the blower on a table, or perhaps on the floor. Anyway, it's not going to be of much help. I gave the product four stars because I like the powerful blowdryer.

I found this exact blow dryer at my local Walmart for a little under $13. It's a great dryer and I love the hands free option which is why I rated the item itself a 5 star but I wouldn't pay a higher price when I got the same item for less.

I got this dryer because I have a long-haired dog that needs frequent grooming, and I liked that other reviewers said it wasn't excessively noisy. That is true. Although it isn't silent, it is a lot quieter than my wife's hair dryer, and so I doesn't drive my dog crazy. So I like that. I like the 3 temperatures that is has: cold, warm and hot. The hot is hot but not burning, the warm is pleasant, and the cold is... well, just cold air. I also like it's compact size.

So what don't I like? If anything, and I mean anything, gets close to the unit it gets starved for air and starts to struggle. Not great. The so-called hands-free cradle hardly does anything because it only works in one position. I've tried using this with an adjustable pole and clip to make it hands-free, but it doesn't fit well in the clip.

So as I said, very good, but not great.

Only two speeds and neither seem to be the right one. The low fan is too low but the high one is too loud and hot for my tiny girls. Went back to my own hair dryer hoping I don't burn it out. Also, the stand is not usable in my opinion which is the major reason I bought it. Don't waste your money.

I like this hair dryer with caddy very much. This arrangement allows me to have it handy in a wall-mount, and still take it along traveling. It is not too loud, and it has the cool-shot type feature. There is only ONE temperature, but it seems perfect for my hair. It has 2 speeds, but I mainly use high. The concentrator is functional too. The rubberized non-slip handle is comfortable. Got this hairdryer a few days ago. I had to go with a lower watt dryer otherwise I'd be flipping breakers every 5 minutes. It's very pretty. I dig the red. It took a couple days to get used to holding it as it's a bit bulky. But to be fair my other one had a shorter nozzel and was lighter. The placement of the setting switches is not optimal. I can't easily switch from low to high and back to low without looking at what I'm doing. And the hot setting is not very hot. Which, I guess, my hair is thankful for. But boy does she have great blowing power! It's like being in a wind tunnel. My hair dries in half the time now which is great! I have used both attachments that came along with it too. I was afraid due to the force of the blowing it would blow those little gadgets right off and smack me upside the head but they stayed put. The blow dryer is a little louder than I am used to but not a big deal.

Overall, I am pleased with the product. I can overcome the negatives. Hope it lasts!

REVIEW EDITED SEPT 2013 = And there she blows...out! The heating element died already. I am very disappointed this hairdryer did not last as long as I expected it to. I understand....you get what you pay for....but it should have been longer than this. And I do not have long thick hair to where I am using and abusing the hairdryer. My hair is medium length and fine. It didn't have to work that hard! I'm disappointed today and back on Amazon to shop for yet another hairdryer.

Almost perfect. It's light, has the right temps and air volumes and most of.....it's QUIET. Compared to the inline fan hair dryers that the wife uses, this thing is at least half as loud. Save your ears and get one.

I needed a 1600W hair dryer to prevent my GFCI from tripping. There are NO dryers under 1800W at a retail store anywhere near me...I know, I've looked. I should have shopped Amazon first and saved some shoe leather. That being said, this hair dryer is exectly what I was looking for. I have short, chin-length hair that can really suffer in humidity, and I'm a believer in the benefits of tourmaline/ionic/ceramic to make my hair shiny and dry faster. This item absolutly fills the bill. It's very light weight, although it's a powerful full size hair dryer. I use the concentrator attachment everyday to finish off my style, and I also like the lift that the finger-like attachment gives. It took me a while to get the hang of this attachment, but now I like it better than then traditional diffuser for my curly/wavy hair. The controls are easy to use, one switch for temp, and one for air flow placed side-by-side, rather than one on top of the other. I haven't changed the settings by mistake, and resetting either the temp or air flow takes just the flip of a thumb. One of the best features?? I haven't tripped the GFCI since I've started using it. The reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because a "cool-shot" button/option would have really helped...I used that feature all the time on my 1875W hair dryer. I recommend this item, and would buy it again.

Pros: heat and speed options, moderately quiet motor.

Con: no cool shot button.
