I have used this product on 2 different hair systems. Both are full lace wigs.

I used the product on my first system in hopes of stopping the shedding that was occurring. I did not use on it from the beginning because I did not want to weaken the knots. This product did not stop the shedding.

I used on my second system from the very beginning. There was no shedding at all after the first application, but I didn't expect the unit to shed at the first styling. At the second application (worn for 2 weeks and then washed) there was a lot of shedding. Based on my experience with the previous unit, this product does little to nothing to stop the hair from releasing from the base.

In addition to the above, this product will cause some stiffness/shrinkage with your cap (which loosens over time), the smell is TERRIBLE and nearly toxic so you must use in a VERY well ventilated area, and you cannot let the spray get on the hair itself so you must develop a method of spraying to coat but not oversaturate.

Would not recommend or purchase again.

this stuff stinks,FOR A LONG TIME AND THE FUMES ARE TERRIBLE. it does stop shedding,so to be fair this product does do its job, but if you use it i would suggest allowing the unit to air dry until the odor goes away, which takes a really long time,it is almost unbearable, kinda smells like really strong paint thinner :(

Cheap Ceramic 1875W Dryer

I bought a newer version of this dryer back in 2008. I LOVE it, if was still being made it would probably the best dryer on the market. It came with 3 attachments (diffuser, concentrator, and like a straightening pick). It has a boost button whic really does give your dryer a boost for the difficult to curl sections. It also is tourmaline, ionic, and ceramic. It has a durable AC motor, it's lightweight, and amazing. I prefer rocker switches because they are easier to change temperature while drying my hair. The flip down lint filter is another super convienant feature. The cord has a loop to hang my dryer from also. I am super sad that I lost my attachments in a move recently. I replaced my dryer with an infiniti pro and althought it's a nice dryer it is missing the boost feature, the third attachment, and the tourmaline I also prefer the ion shines flip lint catcher to the infiniti twist off one. The Infiniti has a narrower nozzle which is nice for control but sad because I can't interchange my attachments. I hope conair sells replacement attachments. I am giving them a call today. Overall I feel the motor is probably the same motor, it just seems like Infiniti pro is a skinnier version of this dryer minus some extra features.

I am going to be very sad if they ever stop making or selling this dryer. For the last 8 years this is all I have used. I always buy an extra just in case the one I am using goes out. I have very thick wavy hair and it takes only minutes to dry with this dryer. I am always so amazed how long it takes my hairdresser to dry my hair with her dryer compared to when I use my own dryer.

Can't figure out why there are so few curling brushes out there they are so much easier to use than the irons, especially for those like me who have stick-straight hair that slips through the irons. That said, the Helen of Troy brush is the only 1-inch barrel I can find out there, save for the ceramic one that is way too hot to handle and burns the hair too easily. The Helen of Troy does the job, just takes a few extra minutes of curling to perform on very straight hair. We need a curling brush that gets a few degrees hotter than the Helen of Troy (and an automatic shut-off!) and a few degrees cooler than the Inifinity by Conair. Are you listening, marketing departments???

I finally found a product to give me that slight "bend" that I needed to make me look like Jennifer Aniston (I wish!). I recently cut my, somewhat long, baby fine and thinning hair into that style known as "The Rachel". The one that Jennifer Aniston made so popular. It is long all over, but graduated lengths in the front. This style needs a large round brush to acheive that slight bend at the ends.

I am terrible with a round brush and blow dryer. I tried a blow dryer with a round brush attachment and found it extremely cumbersome. Finally, I came upon the Helen of Troy "Mega" heated brush and..... voila!....perfection!

I dry my hair with a regular blow dryer and after it is dry, I use the "Mega" brush to give me the "bend". I can also use it on days when I have not washed my hair, as well.

I am very pleased with this product.

I LOVE this thing. It was a little awkward at first, but it didn't take long to get used to it.

My hair is fine, shoulder length and curly. If I let it dry naturally, it looks out of control and messy (cute on some, but not on me.) When I use the Hot Tools 1079 on damp hair, I get a nice, smooth blow dry with some fun shaping in under 10 minutes. I've tried a couple other hot air brushes and this is my hands down favorite. I was devastated when my Wigo airbrush broke and I couldn't find one anywhere, so I was very relieved and grateful when I found out about this product through people's online comments. This Hot Tools airbrush is exactly the same as the Wigo one except the barrel is purple. Basically I wanted a new curling brush to replace one that rarely got used but broke anyway. I have used this brush several times now and really like the performance and versatility. Quick heat, curls as much or little as you like and can just do my ends and bangs super quick but looks great and lasts ALL day. The buttons take some getting used to and the controls are a little bulky but the RETRACTABLE BRISTLES make it all worth the learning curve. Over all I am very pleased.

Pros: Makes great curls/waves, leaves hair shiny, heats almost instantly, LOVE the retractable bristles, dries as you smooth or curl, curl holds longer when styled from damp to dry, cooling button sets curl well, long cord lets you move around (ie: stand and flip hair upside down, etc), adjustable heat/speed buttons for maximum control, much easier and more effective than blow dryer and brush, minimize damage with ceramic/ion tech, 1 1/4" barrel is the perfect size for big body or curls so you get best of both with only one tool, barrel detaches easily to pack/store or clean.

This is a **great** hair dryer. It really does dry your hair faster. The different settings (hot, warm, and cool) actually make a difference in how your hair looks. Probably more healthy for your hair. I used The Rusk Go Green Hair Dryer to replace my Conair 225R Comfort Touch Tourmaline Ceramic 1875-Watt Hair Dryer. A word on Conair hair dryer I was always worried the darn thing would overload the electric circuit in our bathroom; it flickered the bathroom lights when using it. I've never had a hair dryer to that!! The Rusk hair dryer didn't effect the lights in the bathroom one bit, nor do I have a lingering worry that I'm about to electrocute myself when using it.

I respectfully disagree with the review that dings the material out of which this dryer is made. I like the construction of this hair dryer. It's nice to have a product that is solidly constructed. (How nice to have an appliance that doesn't feel like it will break in half.) The color is fine -actually better than the ugly cheap metallic color of most hair dryers.

After my last soft bonnet dryer broke, I was desperate to find a replacement. This looked great on paper (or should I say screen.) Especially the 800 watts, I haven't really seen any soft bonnets with this much wattage. However, 800 watts means nothing if the heat doesn't reach the front of the cap. Also the cap was flimsy. This dryer is generally unsatisfactory---barely meeting any minimum standard of adequacy, however, because there are so very few bonnet or hood models on the market, I feel forced to make do with it. The minimum standard it meets is that it has a nice large, adjustable bonnet and it does dry my hair (although so would mere air if my life required nothing more of me than drying my hair, or as would a blowtorch if I were rather rushed and anticipated no future need for hair or eyebrows) as long as I re-position the hose every 15-20 minutes or so to ensure heat eventually reaches all four quadrants of my head. And speaking of blowtorches, this thing is a real fire-breather,---and that's on the inappropriately-labeled "low" setting. I don't dare try , or need, the "high" setting, except, perhaps, if I decide to multi-task it as an iron for my 100% cottons. Make sure to have a towel draped over your ears, arms and shoulders if your upcoming schedule does not include being airlifted to a hospital burn unit. Further, there is a warning in the user's guide not to sleep during the dryer's operation. I take it that heads-up was a sarcastic inside joke on the part of a disgruntled Revlon technical writer for this product as any normal person would most certainly find it impossible to enter REM sleep sitting beside an aircraft carrier preparing for take-off. I suggest you have ibuprofen at the ready following each drying session to relieve the headache you're likely to experience. Finally, the connector on the hose leading from the motor is extremely fussy when trying to get and keep it connected to the bonnet, and the hose itself is so inconveniently short that it just barely avoids requiring you sit with it on your lap during operation. That said, enjoy!

I ordered the Revlon Amber Waves RV671AW ionic soft bonnet dryer to replace a hard bonnet ionic dryer that dried my hair in 30 minutes. I wanted something smaller and more comfortable. I followed the instructions for expanding the bonnet, I moved the bonnet to four different positions on my head and after an hour, the crown of my head still wasn't dry as the crown of the bonnet never allowed any air even with additional attempts to expand it. The hair that was dry wasn't as silky as I've experienced with other products. Yes, the temperature can be hot, as described in other reviews, but it can be adjusted which I do over the course of each drying with all types of ionic dryers except handheld. Amazon was wonderful handling the refund!!!

I have been searching high and low for a decent hair dryer and was hoping this would be it, but I'm so disappointed. The dryer gets way too hot, even on low. The next setting is cool, but that's not warm enough to dry my hair. I have to keep going up and down on the dial that I'm afraid will evenutally break from all the adjustments. I also don't like the fact that I have to keep adjusting the bonnet so that certain areas can get dry. Drying hair should not be this complicated!!

I am probbly going to keep this dryer for the simple fact that I need one. If anybody out there knows where I can purchase a Carel (not the new ionic one, it also gets too hot) hair dryer please let me know. I've looked everywhere.

***UPDATE*** I am not keeping this dryer. In fact, I boxed it up today and off to the UPS store I went! I will never be satisfied with this dryer, so why keep it? My fragile hair and skin just can't tolerate the heat this thing puts out.

I am not sure if its the same thing or not but the old shatter spray had flat sided bottle like in the picture. The one I got was the new bottle and the label was different. Is this the same product? I am not sure. The hold is so so. It doesn't last all day.

Got this hairdryer a few days ago. I had to go with a lower watt dryer otherwise I'd be flipping breakers every 5 minutes. It's very pretty. I dig the red. It took a couple days to get used to holding it as it's a bit bulky. But to be fair my other one had a shorter nozzel and was lighter. The placement of the setting switches is not optimal. I can't easily switch from low to high and back to low without looking at what I'm doing. And the hot setting is not very hot. Which, I guess, my hair is thankful for. But boy does she have great blowing power! It's like being in a wind tunnel. My hair dries in half the time now which is great! I have used both attachments that came along with it too. I was afraid due to the force of the blowing it would blow those little gadgets right off and smack me upside the head but they stayed put. The blow dryer is a little louder than I am used to but not a big deal.

Overall, I am pleased with the product. I can overcome the negatives. Hope it lasts!

REVIEW EDITED SEPT 2013 = And there she blows...out! The heating element died already. I am very disappointed this hairdryer did not last as long as I expected it to. I understand....you get what you pay for....but it should have been longer than this. And I do not have long thick hair to where I am using and abusing the hairdryer. My hair is medium length and fine. It didn't have to work that hard! I'm disappointed today and back on Amazon to shop for yet another hairdryer.

I needed a 1600W hair dryer to prevent my GFCI from tripping. There are NO dryers under 1800W at a retail store anywhere near me...I know, I've looked. I should have shopped Amazon first and saved some shoe leather. That being said, this hair dryer is exectly what I was looking for. I have short, chin-length hair that can really suffer in humidity, and I'm a believer in the benefits of tourmaline/ionic/ceramic to make my hair shiny and dry faster. This item absolutly fills the bill. It's very light weight, although it's a powerful full size hair dryer. I use the concentrator attachment everyday to finish off my style, and I also like the lift that the finger-like attachment gives. It took me a while to get the hang of this attachment, but now I like it better than then traditional diffuser for my curly/wavy hair. The controls are easy to use, one switch for temp, and one for air flow placed side-by-side, rather than one on top of the other. I haven't changed the settings by mistake, and resetting either the temp or air flow takes just the flip of a thumb. One of the best features?? I haven't tripped the GFCI since I've started using it. The reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is because a "cool-shot" button/option would have really helped...I used that feature all the time on my 1875W hair dryer. I recommend this item, and would buy it again.
