I bought this for my wife who gets up very early for work while everyone else is still sleeping. We were seeking a solution for the annoying and piercing "screaming" of her hair dryer at 4:30AM, and this turned up in a search for "super quiet" hair dryers. Well, this unit does offer some nice improvements in both speed and temperature selections as well as a momentary "cool" button. But although it is perhaps a little lower in the tone or frequency of its sound, the total noise produced by it is only nominally different from the much cheaper unit it replaced. We don't sense that it puts out more air or heat than the much less expensive one we had, but it came with some interesting styling attachments to make it appear more like a pro unit. It also features a detachable lint filter at the intake which may be worth something down the road as that clogs. Our 12 year old son did think it was "cool" though -whatever that may be worth.

I've had a cheap, no frills conair dryer since I was a freshman in college about 10 years ago. I didn't pay much for it & it left my hair dry, big & frizzy. I found this one for $20 @ TJ Maxx & I'm so glad I bought it! I'm African American with relaxed but thick hair. I'd read that ionic dryers dry hair quickly so I timed it. This completely dried my hair in 7 min! Not only was it dry, it was soft and pretty straight as well. I followed up with my flatiron for style only. I am so impressed with this dryer that I'm considering buying another for my sister for Christmas. I got it @ a steal but it's still worth the $40 listed on this site. Additional tips: I also used Biolage Detangling Solution and a squirt of Sedu Anti-Frizz Polishing Treatment with Moroccan Argan Oil.

I really like this blow dryer. It is more quiet than others that I have used; and it is very efficient. My only complaint, as similar w/other blow dryers, is that the on/off switch is on the handle near where I hold it when using it. Every now and then I will accidentally turn it off while using it. A little inconvenient, but I still love using it.

This is a **great** hair dryer. It really does dry your hair faster. The different settings (hot, warm, and cool) actually make a difference in how your hair looks. Probably more healthy for your hair. I used The Rusk Go Green Hair Dryer to replace my Conair 225R Comfort Touch Tourmaline Ceramic 1875-Watt Hair Dryer. A word on Conair hair dryer I was always worried the darn thing would overload the electric circuit in our bathroom; it flickered the bathroom lights when using it. I've never had a hair dryer to that!! The Rusk hair dryer didn't effect the lights in the bathroom one bit, nor do I have a lingering worry that I'm about to electrocute myself when using it.

I respectfully disagree with the review that dings the material out of which this dryer is made. I like the construction of this hair dryer. It's nice to have a product that is solidly constructed. (How nice to have an appliance that doesn't feel like it will break in half.) The color is fine -actually better than the ugly cheap metallic color of most hair dryers.

i have been using this dryer for about 6 months and its a good dryer but nothing really special about it except that its good for the environment, the black nozzel that comes with it has a tendency to fall off frequently and it just a nice quality dryer doesn't feel cheap, i had the chance to try my mom's chi rocket hair dryer so my expectation were a little too high, that dryer drys hair faster and less frizz

I am a fan of Gold n Hot and even though I have had better performing dryers, this one will do. The comb attachment will hurt though. The teeth will bore into your head like nobody's business. And you lose the ability to move the comb around to adjust from your left to right hand. The comb locks and moving it means you have released it. Taking some getting used to.

I've had this hair dryer for years. At least 8 years, matter of fact and still going strong. I like that it has more than 2 heat setting. The cool setting works great when my hair gets over heated. I use the comb attachment and have broken at least 2 teeth off since I've had it. No worries it still works!

Just know, all my friends have used it and have try to steal it but IT'S MINE. I "heart" this dryer and it's one of the best!!!

I have a tiny bathroom with no counter space. I've actually been letting my flat iron just lie in the sink while I use it, and I used a thick wool "hotpad" on a wood shelf to let it sit while it cools. Not a great solution. This thing clings like crazy! I have it on the toilet tank, and it sits to the side, very unobtrusive (a bamboo tray filled with beauty products happens to sit on top of it, hiding the flat surface of it, but it clings perfect without needing the tray on top). You have to almost peel it off it clings so well. I have it in purple, which matches my decor. It holds my flat iron (1", but should be fine with wider ones), with no problem. I highly recommend this, wish I had gotten it sooner, but really didn't care for that hot pink color.

For those that are curious, I did try it also on the thin edge of my sink, and it worked great there too, even though it isn't flat.

This is a great invention somebody should have thought of sooner. My oversize pedestal sink has a slope toward the oval bowl. Everything gravitates toward the slope and falls in the sink hair brush, blow dryer, Perfector styler... If it's on the side of the vanity, sooner or later it's going to end up in the sink. This solves the problem, keeps tools close at hand while using, and even protects surfaces from burning. Was a little leery it would hold, but it stuck tight. I might get a few as presents would make a great gift!

I have been using the T3 for six months; I purchased mine directly from the Sephora website. I see no difference in drying time or in shine/hair improvement. I am using the same drying technique as with my store bought hairdryer. Also, the T3 only has a high/low button and a cool blast button; my cheaper store bought hairdryer has a H/M/L option for the fan and heat which I prefer. For the investment, I do not see the return.

Finally.... I've found the best hair dryer! I have really thick hair with a wave to it and find that this hair dryer works best when I'm trying to straighten my hair out. The highest setting for heat is perfect and doesn't burn your hair. There's a small button -in just the right place -that will cool your hair down in an instant. So, you use the heat with a round brush to straighten and then ZAP it with the cool air and "waaaa-laaa" your hair is straight without the frizz that can come from some blow dryers that don't get quite as hot as you need. The handle is contoured for just the right comfortable grip without getting a cramp in your hand. Two attachements come with it but I haven't found a need for them yet.

You might find that the price is a bit steep for you but it's well worth the investment. I've had mine for awhile and it hasn't overheated yet. In any good salon this is the hair dryer of choice!

I am so pleased with my SuperSolano dryer that I will never purchase another big box store brand again. It is certainly worth the extra cost and seems much easier on my hair as the heat/air selections are greater than my former dryer. It may be a bit heavier than my old dryer but it does not bother me at all.

I have fine hair but a lot of it and it holds water so it takes forever to dry. I have had my hair dried in salons with hairdryers that are so good it makes it unnecessary to use a flat iron. Products are also necessary but I use the same products and notice the hairdryer had made a difference. Unfortunately I didn't ask what kind it was at the time as I was satisfied enough with my drugstore hairdryer. Since its passing, I've been interested in finding something that will be light, quiet, cut drying time down and produce sleek shiny hair without burning it. Probably doesn't exist. So I decide the result and drying time is most important to me. This is my second Solano to try because I am pretty sure that's what was used the last time I was impressed by a hair dryer. It is not "light" but not bad. The sound is low not shrill and it is quiet, for a hairdryer. For me there can be one item within a brand that works well, even if everything else they make doesn't. That said, I'm tempted to try Sedu, Chi or Babyliss because the Solanos I've tried don't seem to provide results I've had before and I think it's because they don't get hot enough. However, at Ulta only the Chi seemed to get hotter and so hot it was scalding which might burn hair and scalp. The rep said the T3 worked but that was fifty more so it might have been an upsale. If you can't find a great hairdryer for under 150 there is something up. If they would list dryers by weight, air temperature and air force or make custom one since everyone's hair type is different that would be helpful. If anyone has any suggestions that would be appreciated.
