I LOVE this hair dryer. I originally bought this product for the diffuser because it was the only one at Target with one (they all seem to have those spot-shot concentrated attachments now). I have always had very long wavy/frizzy hair that I must blow-dry to get straight or use a ton of hair products to get somewhat curly. I wanted an easier way to make it curly so I wanted to try a diffuser. Well I'm sure it works great for most people but I am an idiot when it comes to making my hair curly so it just didn't work good. I decided to forget the curly and started using it without the diffuser as my primary hair dryer. I have no idea about the prong-life of the diffuser since I don't use it, but it seems reasonable to hear that they eventually break.I hate those weak hair dryers that just feel like heat on your head with no blow. They make my hair an odd-ugly-frizzy-wave that I end up putting in a ponytail. Well, I was in luck because this hair dryer really blows (in a good way!!). I hadn't really noticed how powerful it was until I accidently left it at my parents' house out of town for a week. I had to use my old hair dryer which I thought was the best, most powerful hair dryer I had owned, and was surprised on how NOT-powerful it was compared to the Revlon Matte Chrome! It's got three temperature settings, including a cool setting so you don't have to kill your thumb pressing the button. It still has that button, but I don't use it. I have had it for over 6 months now and it has been nothing but wonderful to me! I recommend this product if you like your hair dryers to blow!!

This is the THIRD blowdryer in this model that I've owned. The only reason the 2nd one failed was because I dropped it on the floor so many times over the last four years, and the on/off button finally cracked and got stuck in the ON position. I have bought at least 3 of this same model. I use it every day so it has a life of about a year, which I think is normal. I did have a problem with the most recent one I purchased. The back of the handle (where the rubber seam is) gets extremely hot after only a few minutes. I've never had this problem before. I called Revlon, and they directed me to the manufacturer Helen of Troy 800-487-7273. I recently purcahsed these clips to hold down my dreadlocks during "re-twisting time".....I already owned Diane brand clips and reading the reviews I thought these they were going to be of the same quality if not better. They are cheaply made and the spring on the clips are not tight enough so they did not hold down my locs...If you're looking for simple clips to hold down soft, wavy and or silky straight textured hair these are probably for you. But women and men who are blessed with kinky, curly and coarsely texturized hair I advise you to purchase a different brand or go to a beauty store so you can see what you're purchasing....I would have done so too but I am Wyoming right now...so needless to say there are not many African-American hair care products on the shelves here!-Peace & Blessing to All!

I bought these clips as an alternative to the Deva Curl ones. They are perfect for creating that added lift for my curls by inserting the clips at the roots and gently lifting then releasing when the hair is wet (check out the Deva Curl website for more tips!) Anyone who is looking for the Deva Curl clips: these are the next best thing! They are less expensive and I received them right away in the mail. Great quality and very strong grip. I would not advise people to get these for their original purpose: If you are looking to use them to hold your hair in curlers, you may find the clips to be too short!!Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase!

I resisted buying this product because of the cost. But after 2 or 3 years of buying useless throw-away curling brush/irons I decided to take another chance with this styling brush/iron.I searched the internet for consumer reviews of this product but they were practically non-existent and the few reviews I read did not come close to answering my questions. I have used a similar styling brush, a Braun shaper/styler that used energy cells, for about 25 years since Braun introduced it. Braun finally discontinued that product and no longer would even support it by offering the energy cells it required for use. The Tron is even better than my beloved Braun styler/shaper brush iron that I've always used as a comparison with the many products I've used in trying to find a replacement.
I have a short layered hair style and my hair is fine and thinning. The Tron does everything it says it does. The 3/4 barrel is perfect for short and medium hair lengths. It is powerful enough for thick, heavy hair and because of the various heat settings, it is gentle enough for short and thinning hair. It's the only brush/iron I've tried in my search for the "right" one that doesn't snarl my hair. It's extremely powerful and heats up almost immediately and with the multiple temperature settings everyone should be able to use at least one or two of the heat settings comfortably. I think it would be impossible to burn your scalp or face because of the way it's made. Unlike most other stylers of this type, it will grab even short and thin hair and hold on to it. It can create a smooth hair style or can be used to add body where you want and you can also create soft or tighter curls. It can even be used on hair that is not freshly shampooed that has styling product already on the hair making it great for touch-ups. Have you ever wondered why most manufacturers of this type of product always make the barrel so long when it's so unnecessary. This barrel is the perfect length and surprising to me, it's about the same length as my old Braun. Braun got that right because you never could use the entire length of a curling brush and most companies have never figured out the extra useless barrel length only makes it more difficult to use. Tron got this right as well!
I know this review is long but I hope I've answered questions for those of you who, like me, have been searching for the perfect styling brush/iron. For me, the question I always ask myself is what could be done to improve this product. Honestly, I couldn't think of one single thing that could have been done better or improved upon. I love this perfect tool so much that I'm seriously considering ordering another. Braun has made me fearful that anything I love and am loyal to will disappear. Most manufacturers are seemingly clueless about products of this type and in my opinion every single brush/iron I tried were only clones of each other. This is the first truly innovative product I've tried that actually works as it should and as advertised. Yes, the Tron is pricey but I know if I added up the cost of all the many products I've purchased and ended up throwing because they simply did not work for me, the Tron would have been cost effective in the long run.
I just ordered my second one because the one I ruined overseas was toast. I mean that literally. Even though I used it with the appropriate power converter, it melted in front of my eyes! Thankfully it started to bend sideways before I had the chance to put it into my hair! Otherwise I can't imagine what would've happened to my hair! Seriously, the barrel bent/melted to a 90 degree angle as I tried to lift it and put it into my hair. This was while I was in Europe. I have used several other appliances over there without problems. This is not one I will bring again. I had to throw it out and discovered I missed it terribly when I got back home and had to order another. That's how much I love it.
My only question is how on earth does one use this as a dryer? I know it says its a dryer + straightener + curling + brush. I just don't get how it's a practical dryer?! I don't really care because I always let my hair dry naturally and then use this brush to style it or touch it up.
Yes, it's pricey but I love it. Obviously loved it enough to order it twice! :) By the way...the brush I use is 1 1/4 inches.

I have a standard Conair curling iron that had heat adjustments, but the Tron is easier on my hair and saves time. I've gotten numerous burns from the Conair and the Tron is much safer and it has a longer, sturdier cord. If it holds up, it will be worth the money. I agree with several other reviews you will find around. This is a very innovative product. I love it! I color my hair and it's dry/frizzy/curly and thin by nature. I love that this iron has a low temperature and it still works like crazy at that LOW temp. I had this iron for 6 months before going overseas (where I damaged it beyond repair using the appropriate electrical converter). However, before that I had the opportunity to used it several times a week for touch-ups and fell in love with it! I wash my hair 1-2 times a week and use it on my hair with product in it. My hair has never felt healthier! This iron/brush is so easy on my hair and still creates the smooth and full look I want. I too have had a few trial and error periods while learning and getting my med/long hair caught in the barrel but if you use a rat tail comb as the instructions say, the hair comes out quickly and easily and you can try again without damage.I just ordered my second one because the one I ruined overseas was toast. I purchased this for a costume, the price was right so I wasn't expecting much. The color is as pictured, it's a little thin. I tried to comb/brush it after taking it out of the package. You can't handle it too much because the strands will start falling out. It met my needs but I only plan on wearing it once.
