I have had the hair dryer for approximately 4 months and it sparked and broke today! The handle would get hot each time I used it...not sure if it was due to the Ion light, but it would get hot. Today, the machine sparked and the plastic melted. Waste of money.

Additional comments: When it worked, the machine wasn't too loud; the flow of air was decent; the hot setting could have been hotter.

As an update, I wanted to let the readers know that I sent an email to Andis letting them know that the product I bought lasted just over three months. A few days after writing the email, I received a response which said they will be sending me a new dryer. I'm relieved to know that I do not need to spend additional money returning the broken product and that they are replacing the item without cost. I'm hoping that the new dryer lasts for years and that I only experienced an isolated quality issue.

FURTHER UPDATE 8/23/12....I'VE BEEN USING THE REPLACEMENT HAIR DRYER FOR A YEAR AND IT'S WORKING LIKE A CHARM!

I have owned this dryer for about 6 months, and it is the best one I've ever had. It makes my hair so soft, silky, and bouncy--just like when I get my hair done at the Dominican salons with a blow out. I have very thick, course, Afro-American hair, and I've always hated blow drying my hair. It always turned out very dry and brittle--until I used this dryer (or went to the salon). I found it at Target for under $25, and it's definitely one of the best hair products I've ever used.

I have even tried a few other ionic-tourmaline ceramic dryers, but this one did my hair so much nicer.

i used this for the first time today and it definitely dried my hair faster than my old one. i have never owned a ceramic ionic hair dryer before and there does seem to be a difference. it didn't get as hot as my old one...the old one used to feel like it was burning my scalp or neck or hands, this one dries the hair faster without getting as hot! it's lightweight and did a solid job. the true test will be when i dry my daughters very long, very coarse hair!

This is a very good hair dryer. I was skeptical of it's ability because it isn't as strong as other ones that I have used. This works extremely well. It actually dries your hair in probably half the time as my last hair dryer. It has a great price also.

Plain and simple this is a great hair dryer. I have my cosmetology license and have bought very expensive dryers in the past, with the same results as I've gotten with (this) Andis' moderately priced version. I will seek out this brand without hesitation in the future.

Got this for my 2 teenage girls. The dryer works well and it is light weight . The only drawback is that it seems a bit cheap. I don't expect it to last very long as the plastic is thin and seems less than durable. We'll see,

I was tired of buying cheap drug store hair dryers that last a few months before burning out. My hairdresser recommended this one & I am very happy with it. It's been over a year now and it maintains its heat and functionality, even with the daily use by myself, husband and kids. It might cost you a bit more than the drug store brand. But if you figure how many you have to buy to keep up with this one this is by far the better bargain. I definitely recommend this product!

Cheap Hot Tools Black & White Nano Ceramic Ionic Dryer

I really love this hair dryer! I have had a variety of different hair dryers over the years, but Hot Tools is definitely my preferred brand, and this one works wonders. I have shoulder length hair that I dry with a round brush. What I was looking for was a dryer that would be (relatively) quiet, dry quickly, and give me a variety of settings, and I got almost exactly that.

This dryer is stylish and fun, and it dries my hair quickly. My hair is not nearly as static-y with this hair dryer. It's light weight and easy to use. The print doesn't seem like it will rub off, like my last one did, and the settings are clear. The indicator light to show that it's on seems a little silly and useless, unless you couldn't hear that the dryer was on.

Some cons: It's not as quiet as is advertised. When the packaging boasted about how quiet it was, I almost expected something you could use in the same room as a light sleeper without waking them. This might be the case if you have it on low, but I use the high setting, and it's definitely not quiet there. However, even on the high setting, it doesn't shatter your ear drums, so that has to count for something.

It only has two settings high and low. I would have liked a medium setting, since the low is too low to really do anything, but you can probably accomplish anything you need to with medium through small bursts of the dryer on high. It also has a cool setting that could be useful too.

Overall, I am VERY happy with my product. I gave it 5 stars despite its flaws since the pros outweigh the cons, mainly that it dries my hair quickly without causing it to be super static-y. I have used it at home and while traveling, and didn't have a problem with either. Since it's also smaller than my previous dryer, it was easier to pack. If you need a new hair dryer, I would definitely recommend this one.

I am by no means any type of hair stylist. I have thick wavy hair that becomes frizzy easily. With past blow dryers my hair gets HUGE and puffy. However, I have found my solution! This blow dryer is GREAT. My hair does NOT get frizzy or dry like it has with other blow dryers. I do still run a straightener through it once it is dry, but that is because of personal preference. Also, it's pretty quiet! Oh, and it has a cute design on the outside, too. :)

I was a little hesitant in ordering this hair dryer, based on the first reviewer's comments. I wanted a compact travel ionic hair dryer and this seemed to fit the bill. When I got it, I was pleasantly surprised that this IS a compact model. It is smaller than the Conair travel hair dryers that I have looked at. As for performance, it does a comparable job as my full-sized hair dryer.

It works OK, but it is definitely NOT a compact travel model. This is one of the few situations where I wish I had dragged myself to a store. If I had seen how big this beast is, I never would have bought it.

I watched a few youtube videos on "plopping" and they suggested this type of towel so I promptly ordered three for my daughter and myself. I can definitely tell a difference in my curls since using this towel. My hair dries faster, the towel doesn't weigh my head down like traditional towels (I have a lot of thick hair so it was necessary to use large towels) and there is virutally no frizz. A wonderful investment.

This hairpiece is very fun and it actually blends in very well with my own hair. This is synthetic hair, but it does not look super-fake. It is full and you can style it in a variety of styles. Not being natural hair, I would not apply heat to it, but you can still arrange it in ways that give you several radical different looks. In direct sunlight the color difference is strongest it pretty much looks like the picture: a dark brown with quite a bit of red in it. Outside of direct sunlight it blends it pretty nice with my hair color and texture, so no complaints. If I put a scarf or headband over it, it would probably make it seamless (I have waist long hair so I cannot comb it over the hairpiece as the instructions advise). The clip on it is very secure, the packaging was very good (it features a small net to keep it in place during shipping/storing). It also comes with two additional clips. I was very satisfied with the purchase and the service of the company. I did not order this for everyday, but for a fun occasional look and it is great at that. I'm considering getting other items from this company.

These matched my hair perfectly, clipped securely, and were cut really well. I have other clip ons from Put on pieces and they aren't cut as nicely. I used these for a formal event on a cruise ship because I knew I wouldn't have much time to do my hair after being on the islands and in the water all day (and I have really long hair). So I would slick it back into a pony tail, clip the bangs on the front and do a bun or braid and tah dah formal ready hair in 5 minutes flat! Excellent! When I first got this hairdryer, it changed my life. It dried my hair quickly and left it shiny and it maintained its shape much better. The dryer was a little heavier than I expected, but I managed. After two heavenly weeks, it stopped blowing hot air. I discovered that if I held down the cool-shot button it would blow hot, but that got annoying. So I returned it and bought a Conair professional dryer that was less expensive. Luckily amazon refunded my money.

I bought this blow dryer at Ulta 14 months ago. I loved it! It dried my hair quicker than other dryers and helped with the straigtening process. So much so that I will probably buy another one, same brand. Why do I have to buy another one after 14 months.......?? Because it stopped working. It has a one year warranty and died at the 14 month stage. And I don't even use it every day! I took it to a small appliance repair shop and they were stumped. It had something to do with the plug, not the motor. But the blow dryer is excellent in what it does to my hair!

This blow dryer is amazing. I have long hair that can sometimes be hard to tame. I have always had cheap blow dryers, which means I spent 15 minutes drying and then another 20 minutes curling it or running a flat iron through it. When my last cheap blow dryer finally bit the dust I decided to spend a little extra money on this FHI dryer. After my first time using it I was shocked at what a difference it made. Not only was it shiny and full of body, but I didn't even need to use my curling iron. It was worth every penny!! I will never go back to those cheap dryers again.

I bought this product on June 1st and returned it June 11th! I really had high hopes as a stylist who does tons of weddings and have long hair of my own. I was in mid sentence talking about how I liked the new iron when it got stuck in my hair , bad! I have alot of hair so when I had to snip it out I was no worse for the ware, but I am totally horrified to think of what would have happened if I was using it on a bride.... My hair got wrapped around the rotary motor somehow maybe its just to long... But there is no release option so if the hair is in there, even if you unplug it...the heat element is still hot...a YouTube catastrophe waiting to happen..save your money!

After using this brush a few times, the handle separated from the brush. I was able to glue it back together, but the customer should not have to fix it.

So I have thicky, curly hair. I am of spanish,native american,irish heritage. I have that spanish-gypsy type curly thick hair,lol. Think Esmerelda from Huntchback of Notre Dame, or Margarita from Aguila Roja. LOL. When I was watching youtube, the girls were all like "get a wooden round boar brush, so it doesnt ruin your hair, and doesnt give you split ends.....plus its healthier on your hair when trying to do blowouts". I've been experimenting with my hair trying to straighten it without flatironing the heck out of it and burning it, because it takes me like 1hr:45min to do my hair straight. So I got this and a nice blow dryer, and whatever else thinking its gonna be great. WRONG. WRONG.WRONG. So I brushed my hair out, and right from using it with all the tangles out, my hair sort of afro'd up, but it was tangle free, and the brush was horrible and did not cooperate with me, when I was trying to turn it like the girls in the video did. So another girl said to slightly flatiron your hair a bit incase its too wild, and then try it, so I did that....still didnt work, my hair kept getting stuck in the bristles and not letting me rotate and turn the brush as I was blowdrying, trying to do that blowout crap. So I flat-ironed it a bit more, it AINT HAPPENIN. I have 3A hair mainly, and parts of it on a good day are 2C, and its long to middle of my back, and thick and dark. I was like damn I'm gonna end up flat-ironing my whole friggin head for this to work. U_________U

So the conclusion is it didn't work for me AT ALL. This was a waste of money, its going to sit there, or I can use it for my dog to brush him. I'm wondering if I should've just done an aluminum brush instead.
