I love this curling brush. It heats up super quickly, has so many settings and a turbo heat button for an extra shot of heat on hard to curl areas. I use it in the morning to straighten out kinks from sleeping, straighten and smooth my hair, flip it under or out, or add some waves. It has a nice long cord, too. I think a brush is less damaging than a curling iron because there's no clamp and you don't hold it in the same place as long. If you haven't tried a brush, this is the one to try. Note that this is a brush that heats up, NOT a brush that blows hot air it's for use on dry hair only.

So, I am a consumer that likes to read reviews before I buy things, especially off the internet. I came across the many positve reviews on this product and since I was looking specifically for a heated hair brush to replace my **Air** heated curling brush/hair dryer I decided that I'd get this model. After a week of owning this I am sooo happy I bought it!It heats up super fast compaired to any reguler curling iron I've tried. The ease that comes from styling my hair VS. trying to blow dry/curl at the same time saves me time overall too which is important for any lady that wants to look good quick. My hair has a more finished smooth look to it VS. the air heated brush which leaves my hair a bit frizzy and not a lot of curl at all. Best of all, if I let my normally fairly straight hair air dry completly this product by itself smooths out the waves and leaves me with great soft curls that last. Shipping was quick, this product delivers desired results, the price is right on and I am even thinking about getting one of these as a gift for my mom. I recommend this highly to anyone that wants that extra dazzle for their hair.

I've tried both hot air brushes and curling irons, and this beats them both. I have very fine straight hair and this brush is perfect for me. I had a problem with hot air brushes because the force of the air (even on low) would tend to blow my hair away from the brush. And a curling iron would always leave a crimp, no matter how quickly a slid it down my hair.

This hot brush gives my hair curls/waves just where I want them and is fast and easy to use. I just brush it through a section of hair until I reach the ends and then twist my wrist to curl my hair around the brush. It only takes a few seconds to give me the nice wave I want. Because there is nothing except the brush to hold the hair in place (which is good for me because it eliminates the crimp), I have to be careful not to burn my fingers as I tuck under the ends of my hair. I'm actually thinking about getting a heat resistant glove to protect myself.

Another thing I like (which is kind of silly and more useful than I would have expected) is that the plug is a regular plug, not one of those surge protector boxy things. This allows me to plug it into the top plug to heat up while my blow dryer is plugged into the bottom plug. With my old curling iron, I would have to use two separate outlets.

In short, I'm really happy with my purchase. This hot brush is reasonably priced and works great.

Does everything features listed...Auto shut off/turbo heat in less 1 minute !!

for best results do not use the hot brush with wet hair, my hair using this brush is shine & looks free of static or frizz!!

When i saw this brush with Dual Voltage $9.99 and free shipping!! I bought two and now i ordered one more!!

After a lot of searching, I finally found the product I had been wanting. The brush holds in the many layers of my shoulder-length hair, and with the larger diameter, it results in soft curls and curves. It heats up quickly, plus it has a plastic cap on the end so I don't burn my fingers. I highly recommend this hot brush for those with longer hair that don't want tight curls.

I bought this to replace my old Chi brush that was the same size. This brush is great because it doesn't pull and break my fine blonde hair. My hair doesn't get get twisted around and pulled by the handle. Comfortable to hold. Barrel gets and stays hot for quick drying and nice styling. Seems solid, very professional. Arrived quickly and packaged nicely.

I had to replace a very old brush that was my favorite so I did my research and found this one. Funny thought because once I got the brush I realized it was the same brush I had and I was so happy. There is no better brush than this one for me. Thanks for having it available.

Honest reviews on Olivia Garden Ceramic and Ion Thermal Brush

Bought this to use on my should length hair. The pick doesn't stay in the handle, but I didn't really care about that. I think the barrel is a little small for the length of my hair, I should have gone with the 2 1/8" barrel. It does make my hair shiny and bouncy. My only real complaint is the handle. It's a very grippy material which is great for my fingers to hold onto, but my hair grips onto it too! I often have to untangle my hair from around the handle. I think I would prefer a more slippery handle so that my hair would just slide off. So I'm still looking for the perfect round brush.

I found this brush to be great if you are styling someone else's hair and can section all the parts you are blow drying. The bristles are short enough that it won't grab a ton of hair at once and it's easier to clean. The grip is rubber and comfortable but catches hair very easily. I've ripped out my own hair many times. I now won't use it on my own hair and only if I'm styling someone else's hair.

I bought this 33mm Metropolis S-Nano Ionic Ceramic Round Thermal Brush and Revlon RV544 1875 Watt Tourmaline Ionic Lightweight Dryer, Silver/Black at the same time from Amazon.com. My hair has not looked this good for the past 2-3 years. I also bought a Hairart Thermal Magnetic & Tourmaline Boar Bristle Brush with Boar bristles from a local store and tried it twice.

Over the years I have tried many brands of round dryer brushes, but this one worked the best on my short-medium length hair. I have a lot of hair, medium to coarse texture as my hair color is starting to get a little more gray. The Metropolis S-Nano Ionic Ceramic Round Thermal Brush, (Amazon), worked much better for me. The boar bristles seem to easily tangle my hair. I have also used several Spornette Taegu Brushes, but the handles seem short and my hand would cramp while using the brush.

I liked this Metropolis S-Nano Ionic Ceramic Round Thermal Brush so much that I have just ordered the smaller 25mm brush too.

Give it a try!

Honest reviews on Metropolis S-Nano Ionic Ceramic Round Thermal Brush

This brush was great! I've been using ceramic round brushes for a long time now, and I can't tell you how many I have that have been wasting away in the cabinet because I bought them and hated them. This brush has the perfect bristles, with enough firmness that it picks up the hair without having to use multiple hands. The handle is coated perfectly to be non-slip and fits well in the palm of my hand. Exactly what I was looking for.

I just received this brush today, I ordered the 63mm, and it works perfectly. After getting layers a few weeks ago my hairstylist recommended this to add volume to my naturally very straight hair. I am suprised at how good it works, even on dry hair. :) Usually round brushes snag and break my hair but this one minimizes that. I love this brush and plan on ordering one in a smaller size as well. Excellent brush, and great customer service as well.

I've owned this dryer for only a few weeks, so I cannot speak to its longevity. This is my third hair dryer with a cord reel, which I find convenient. The first one was OK and worked well, but was noisy. My second one (Conair 1875 Watt Ionic Cord Keeper Hair Dryer), which I used for only a couple months, was also noisy. The cord in it was also too short (4 feet) and when retracting it, rewound so quickly that the plug would whip around and hit me painfully in the hand. I had to be careful about how to hold it when retracting the cord. It also had only fast/hot and slow/warm settings. I got fed up with it, so I looked for new options at a local Target.

I found this dryer and was hesitant to pay twice as much for it as I did the previous ones. I couldn't imagine what could be special enough about it to justify two and a half times the cost.

When I tried it, I was quite surprised. The first thing I noticed is that it is heavier and feels very solid and well built. I don't care about the weight--it takes me only a minute or two to dry my medium-length (for a man) hair. The next surprise was that it is extremely quiet--even at high speed. I no longer have to turn up my radio to hear the news while drying my hair. It has independent controls for heat and speed. I usually like to use high heat with the low speed so it doesn't blow my hair so much. The 5-foot cord retracts slowly and safely and is just the perfect length for my situation.

I would not describe the quietness of the dryer as slightly better than the cheaper driers I have used before--it is a dramatic difference. I have often wondered about the potential hearing loss my old dryers might cause, but didn't worry too much because it didn't take very long to dry my hair. If I still had long hair, I would be seriously concerned about the noise from a cheap dryer.

As for how well my hair looks after using it, I notice no difference from the other dryers. My hair if very fine and thick with some wave, so it is pretty easy to care for. It will frizz in high humidity, but I live in Denver and humidity is not a problem here. I have not tried this in a humid environment.

I highly recommend this dryer.

Update on 2010-10-17: This dryer is still working great and I still consider it the best dryer I've ever used.

Update on 2011-12-29: I cut my hair shorter last April and no longer use the hair dryer. It was still working perfectly after three years.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program So this is a Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer. What's in it for Me?

(For model specific info, skip down to the *******)

Ionic. Ceramic. Tourmaline. If you've shopped for a hair dryer or flipped through a beauty magazine in the past few years you've likely seen these buzz words. Yet what do they mean to you, the consumer?

"Ceramic" The coil (the component of the hairdryer that heats the air to dry the hair) is made of ceramic which heats more evenly than a metal coil purported to cause less damage to hair.

"Ionic" Very simply, "ions" are atoms or molecules with a positive or negative charge because the atom has gained or lost an electron. Great! but what does that have to do with hairdryers? According to hair dryer manufacturers, "instead of taking the air from the room and heating it, an ionic hair dryer uses negative ions to shrink the water droplets in hair . . . [helping] dry hair faster and with less damage, making it smooth and shiny." However, an environmental engineer can tell you there is no strong science to back up this claim. If you're unsure then just realize that all hairdryers still have coils which heat the air to dry the hair. (see above)

"Tourmaline" a type of gemstone touted by hair dryer manufacturers to produce more ions and therefore dry hair even faster with less damage. (see above) This claim also unproven by hard science.

Yet despite the lack of science to back the claim that Ceramic and or Tourmaline Ionic hair dryers "help smooth the cuticle layer creating silky, shiny hair [with] less frizz and more manageability" users continue to report the hairdryers do just that. Even consumer tests report this technology dries hair up to 70% faster.

Is there a placebo effect?

At this point in the game it no longer matters. Because the overwhelming majority of the dryers on the market today are either ionic, ceramic, or both and you can now purchase models with these features without any additional cost over models without these features it is no longer necessary to agonize whether or not it's "worth it" to plunk down $300 just to see for yourself. What you should do instead is evaluate the hair dryers other features.

*****************************************

And on those "other" features I can heartily recommend this hairdryer.

(in order from most important feature to least)

*The three heat settings and two speed settings are separate buttons, plus one of those "cool shot" buttons that were all the buzz a few years back. This is a very important and often missing feature for hairdryers, especially for dryers in the lower price range. If you don't have the speed and heat settings on separate buttons then you only have two options "high speed with hot heat" or "low speed with low heat." Despite the new technology, it's always been recommended not to simultaneously use the highest heat stetting at the same time you use the highest speed setting because the potential to damage the hair shaft is higher. That leaves you with "low speed with low heat" which takes *forever* to dry your hair. With the speed and heat settings on separate buttons you have the option to dry your hair on high speed but with lower heat or high heat but lower speed which are the best options to dry your hair quickly and safely. The third button, the "cool shot," is used at the end of drying to cool the hair quickly to help it "set."

*Retractable chord anything that helps keep your home less cluttered is a bonus. Wrapping the cord around the body of the dryer is damaging so the retractable chord feature is a wonderful bonus.

*You also get concentrator and a diffuser attachments which come on many but not all dryers.

-The diffuser is for curly or other styles that can get blown out with the direct application of a jet of air. Also great for heat setting rollers that would get frizzy with direct air.

-The concentrator (that small attachment you normally throw away) serves the opposite purpose and is excellent for straightening and styling hair or training bangs.

*Removable filter a common feature that helps to keep lint and hair out of the moving parts. Can be removed for periodic rinsing to maintain dryer performance.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I regularly have to dry my daughters hair (she's 10). Being a ham-fisted male, I have a hard time working with some of the arcane tools I've been provided (a hair iron?). I just finished using this dryer on her hair and it works great, even for me.

The device is designed very well. The retractable cord makes the dryer easy to store and retrieve. The settings are very simple to use and with only a few available, I'm not spending all kinds of time figuring out which ones to take advantage of. The high heat setting was not at all uncomfortable for me or my daughter, but with the trigger to switch on cool air, if my hands or her head got hot, we had quick relief if needed. It dried her hair very fast, but I could tell that it wasn't damaging the hair as it did it. The attachment that dries and untangles proved to big for my daughters shorter hair, but she may grow into it. I used the the funnel attachment quite a lot because it made controlling the flow & direction of the air much easier. I found the noise level to be really low compared with hair dryers I've used in the past.

We were both very happy with the experience. Best of all for my daughter, the dryer is pink, which won her over pretty quickly. It really seems like a sophisticated hair dryer and I anticipate quite a lot of use.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Infiniti by Conair 223F Cord Reel Dryer

Noise data included good job overall

Here are some points not discussed elsewhere. The Infinity is a medium weight hairdryer heft wise. The plastic construction is tight so it feels solid in your hands. It does a good enough a job drying hair (not significantly faster or slower than any other 1875 watt dryer). I like the removable filter which is mounted fairly flush with the back of the housing. I had others where the filter screen was the back of the housing, if you laid it down the wrong way the screen mounting tabs broke off too easily. Here is a tip for cleaning the plastic windowscreen like filter underneath; I used to clean it with tweezers to pull off the accumulated lint about once a month. I now use a Q-tip, simply touch the tip against the lint, twirl, and the lint gets tangled in the Q-tip and comes right off.

In use the dryer is pretty well balanced, and what surprised me, fairly quiet as well. It is not advertised as a particularly quiet model, which is important to me, but it is. I found that dryers with large diameter air inlets and outlets are usually quieter. Larger fan diameter equals slower and less noisy fan. This one was noticeably quieter than some other ones I have used, and the noise is slightly lower pitch and not as shrill. I decided to do a noise comparison of all the dryers we had in the house and sure enough, per minute of drying time, the Infinity was the second quietest. What was more surprising is how noisy these things are, not just objectively but subjectively as well. 86 dBA is LOUD. I tested all of them with a noise level meter held 12" away at a right angle to the discharge of air. Here are the results:

Revlon Quiet Ceramic 1875 High=80 dBA Low=71 dBA

Conair Infinity 1875 High=83 dBA Low=79 dBA

Remington All That 1875 High=86 dBA Low=76 dBA (very shrill)

Windmere MTD1CP ~1200 High=82 dBA Low=71 dBA (travel dryer, v. slow)

So, other than my specifically quiet Revlon, and the flea size Windmere, the Infinity was very quiet. A good value, and a pleasure to use. PS. I do not recommend that you use the self retracting cord feature without holding the cord with the other hand. It does snap back, and it just feels like a gimmick feature that will break if you use it too often.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Comes with 2 attachments for air distribution control Diffuser and Concentrator

Spec: 1875 watts

110-125 volts AC at 60hz

Pros:

-Ionic technology produces negative ions to neutralize the generally positive charges on the hair which helps to eliminate static

-As an electrical engineer, one of the first things I noticed is the presence of great safety device at the end of the cord. The ALCI or Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter, much like a GFCI or ground fault current interrupter. If the device sense a short circuit which is similar to what happens when the dryer falls in the tub, the electrical current will automatically get disconnected which can be a lifesaving factor. GFCI is now mandatory for all new bathroom constructions, but if you travel or happens to be in an old house that is not equipped with a GFCI, then it is good to know that it is a built-in device in your dryer.

-Retractable cord

-Some dryers only have a 4 ft cord. The additional foot is a big advantage.

-3 heat settings

-2 speed settings

Cons:

-A bit bulky & heavy

I have been looking for the perfect hair product for about 15 years! I have wavy/curly hair, thick, unruly, somewhat frizzy hair. I have tried just about every gel, cream, mousse and serum on the market and none of them did what they said they'd do. When my hair dresser suggested I try the Lavender Hair Cream, I was skeptical, to say the least. But OMG! I put it in my hair, finger curled it, let it air dry and holy cow! Perfect curls, no frizz and soft not crunchy!!!! It's the best hair I've ever had! Plus, it smells great! One of my guy friends said to me one day, "you smell pretty". The only problem with this product is that once you start using it, nothing else will do.

I watched a few youtube videos on "plopping" and they suggested this type of towel so I promptly ordered three for my daughter and myself. I can definitely tell a difference in my curls since using this towel. I'm on a hair journey to grow my hair to BSL (bra strap length), and I have been watching different YouTube channels for tips and hair products to help protect my hair. I decided to try the IC Fantasia Heat Protectant to help protect my hair when I blow dry or flat iron it. I am really satisfied with it so far. My hair doesn't feel fried and crunchy like it used to when I used heat before. But BEWARE, a little goes a LONG WAY. If you section off your hair into 4 or more sections depending on the thickness of your hair; all you need is a dime size drop(or less). Any more and you run the risk of looking greasy and weighed down instead of healthy and shiny.

I am 4B Natural, exactly like the cellist Esperanza Spalding, hair that is soft, cottony, perfect for afros and grows OUT not DOWN, and reverts if there is a drop of moisture in the air, but I'm learning to live with it. Everyone raves about how good the serum is ; and after paying $18.00 for 2 oz of Chi I was leary...So what I did, I bought the IC Serum and the IC spray (check out that review) I used the spray first then the next shampoo and blow dry I used the Serum and I LOVE IT! (ala Oprah hands shaking wildly over my head, and giving everyone a free bottle in the audience). My hair was shiny, silky straight and lasted. Smells nice too.You just need a drop I do a two strand twist and let it dry naturally with some serum. I then press my hair and the product is just fantastic. I did not give it a five because I'm a tough critic.

Best Deals on HAIR POLISHER HEAT PROTECTOR STRAIGHTENING SERUM By FANTASIA Serum

This product is very good on my natural 4c hair. Here's how I use it: I wash my hair with coconut milk Organix shampoo and conditioner. Then I section my hair off in about 8 parts and I towel dry every section very well from roots to ends, then apply this heat protector on a section, combing it and brushing it, you'll see your hair stretch more than its natural state, that's what this product does. Once it's fully stretched with the IC protector (using my hand and a brush), I apply some ampro bees wax to the section and stretch it some more with my hands and brush before braiding or twisting that section. I continue with the rest of my hair until I have about 8 fully stretched, big braids. Then, I can either slightly dry my braids using a blow dryer (that's less heat damage compared to blow drying each section), just blowing heat throughout my head, or just let it air dry overnight. The next morning, I undo the braids and voilà! I have very fluffy, curl (or wave) defined hair which I can let loose. Before going to bed every night, make sure you re-braid the hair in sections and make the braids a little tight. The bees wax helps keep humidity out of your hair and reduce shrinkage. It really works! At least for me. Hope this helped!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I purchased and used this BEFORE selecting it as an Amazon Vine Review item. It's a 4STAR product; loose and liquidy compared to other deep conditioners. It performs pretty well for my winter dry, frizz-prone hair. A little goes a long way or you'll be a drippy, wasteful mess. It rinses clean, smells nice and is only needed once a week. It works well according to the directions.

I have found it works even better with a little extra time and a few changes...I do not use this as an in-shower treatment NOR use a hair dryer as directed. I have OILY scalp DRY hair. My hair is shoulder length, dyed and a dry, frizzy winter disaster in need of tender, loving, care!

I section dry hair (6-8 sections), spritz a section lightly with water, massage small amount of masque from hair ends up the strands to an INCH before scalp. Pin or clip the section, move on to next one until all hair is treated. Cover with a plastic cap or bag, wrap head in towel to capture body heat to warm head/hair. This process opens the hair shaft so it can absorb the moisturizing goodness. Put your feet up, Relax with a cuppa hot tea or coffee, read a magazine or two, for 20 30 minutes. *You can even squeeze in a facial masque during this pamper time.

THEN hop into the shower, SHAMPOO scalp only and rinse hair well. Blot smooth, soft hair. YES it's really your hair in great condition! Shea butter, Avocado & Coconut oil magic is complete. Follow the remainder of your usual hair care routine.

Items Needed for Deep Conditioning Pampering Session:

TIME: 1 Hour

TOOLS:

1 Wide tooth comb/shower comb for sectioning hair and combing through individual sections IF desired, WEN Cleansing Creme Shower Comb NEW By Chaz Dean Got mine for FIVE BUCKS on Amazon :)

1 Spritz bottle filled with water,

6-8 bobby pins or clips for hair sections,

1 plastic cap or grocery produce bag, Betty Dain Elastic Plastic Processing Caps, 4 Ounce

2 Bath towels one for "towel turban" cover to capture body heat, another for shoulders to catch the drips,

Your favorite shampoo,

Cuppa Hot tea or coffee

Magazines of your choice

Optional: clean, old t-shirt to blot silky, smooth, soft hair after rinsing...less friction and frizz promoting static on hair strands.

I like this Deep Conditioner and would recommend it. I'll still switch back & forth with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, 6 Ounce (Pack of 2). When my hair gets used to some products, they become ineffective and I have to alternate products to keep my hair happily tamed.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program With hair too dry to wash often, I tried that expensive and very popular sweet almond mint cleansing conditioner. If you are looking for an alternative to that product, THIS is IT!

Although it's wonderful using as directed, when used in the same way as the TV one, the results are fabulous!

First, wet your hair.

Next massage your scalp while the water runs over it. Do that for a full minute, just as if you were using a normal shampoo, but instead using just water.

Now scoop a few tablespoons of the Motions deep conditioning mask out of the jar, and massage the product in your scalp and through your hair. Add a little water so the product can emulsify a bit. It froths a little, not like lather, just a bit of froth.

Rinse it out completely and then take a few more tablespoons and apply as you would any conditioner. If you use a heating cap, this is the time that you would put it on. Otherwise, you can use a shower cap.

Rinse out when you feel that your hair is well conditioned. The longest that I've left it on has been an hour, and my hair was so shiny, and the curl defined.

The fragrance is light and doesn't stick to your hair like some of the products that knock you out with the smell. If you are trying to grow your hair this is your miracle product!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a nice hair masque. It has a pleasant smell and is not too heavy or greasy. It makes your hair smell very nice and it makes hair shiny and easy to manage. One thing I noticed after several uses of this mask, is that it seems to make hair stronger and much less brittle-especially if you have dry ends.

My hair is damaged on the ends due to hot irons and this product really does help. I was expecting a heavier conditioner but find this to be a product that isn't too heavy and doesn't weigh down your hair. This has a very pleasant smell and deep conditions leaving hair light feeling, shiny and easy to style. I have been using this on a regular basis and it hasn't made my hair oily or over-conditioned. Very nice product with great results and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. My daughter tried it as well and she has very thick hair, her hair was so shiny and smooth looking afterward that I really noticed the affects of Motions Deep Conditioning Masque just by looking at her hair after the first use.

My hair gets tangled easily & is difficult to comb thru when wet. Motions Deep Conditioning Masque INSTANTLY softens & detangles my hair with ease. I LOVE this product!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I wasn't sure what to expect with this product as I was unfamiliar with the brand. I thought it might be just your run-of-the-mill deep conditioner but wow! was I pleasantly surprised! The consistency of this product is thick and silky and it smells wonderful. After one use in the shower my hair was NOTICEABLY softer, smoother, and more healthy looking. It smelled wonderful and my previously damaged hair was easier to style. I have wavy hair so I blew it dry and used a curling iron to make distinct waves and it looked great. At only $6.00, this product is well worth the price and if you don't use too much each time, the jar will last quite a while. Wonderful product.

I like it... but, I am not sure if it is "NEW". The packaging looked a little broken and there are scratches on my blowdryer.

it's a good hair dryer, but the price is a little too high.

i heard a lot of good things about this hair dryer from my friends, well... it drys my hair, it's not overheating it.

it's a little too heavy ( so if you have a long hair) it makes it little more difficult for you to do any hairstyling.

and price-price!!! could be less for what you get.
