Works extremely well. Dried my hair in a third of the time it takes with my old hair dryer. I recommend you spend an extra 20 bucks and buy this hair dryer instead of buying a cheap brand. It's a great deal!!!!

Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Dryer Big Sale! Reviews

Hesitating to buy this dryer because of the price is a short-sighted move. If your hair regimen includes regular salon visits for professional-quality wash and sets, this dryer will pay for itself in 10 home washings. Over 2+ months you would have spent the same money.
For African-American women especially who have relaxed shoulder-length hair, wash and sets create much less damage than blow-drying followed by curling irons (direct heat and stress, followed by more direct heat and stress). The drawback, though, is the time spent under the dryer. Longer, porous hair (like mine) can take a minimum of 90 minutes drying time with other standard chair dryers, even at the salon. Add to that the 1 or so hour spent prior on the shampoo, conditioning, and actual hair setting process, and you're talking about a 3 hour total investment, which does not include any wait time before you're actually seated for your hair service. So, I cannot understate what a huge deal it is that the Pibbs Kwik Dri cuts that drying time in half, from 90 minutes to 45 minutes. What this means:
1. I can now exercise the option to wash and set my hair on weekday mornings before work, if I have to, just by waking up an hour or so earlier than I would normally. This was an impossibility before, unless I wanted to set my alarm for 3:30am.
2. I can now schedule dates and other social events on the same days I sweat my hair out at the gym, without having to worry about not having enough time in between to re-do my hair.
3. Psychological barriers to washing and setting my hair at home have been removed. The prospect of sitting under the dryer for 90 minutes after struggling with the setting process, contributed to the overall dread in facing this task. This was made all the worse by the knowledge that your end result using cheaper dryers which would not dry the hair evenly, or get as hot would fall way short of the salon outcome. As a result, I avoided the whole process, which meant my skill level in setting my own hair never improved, which just created a vicious cycle that would drive me back to the salon for the professional setting results I wanted and needed. But now, because my hair only takes 45 minutes to dry with the Pibbs Kwik Dri, and I am assured of a positive, professional outcome for the time spent, I am more motivated to set my own hair at home, which means I do it more often, which means my setting skill level improves, which means with every week that passes I'm able to consistently achieve the same or better results at home (with the products of my choice), which keeps me out of the salon, and money in my pocket.
Bottom line: no other dryer on the market, or even in salons, comes close, and I've gone through my fair share for home use, the most recent being the Virgo CD320 salon dryer. What makes the Pibbs Kwik Dri 514 so effective is (a) the super hot settings, and (b) the unique hood design that extends all the way down the back, and around all sides, trapping in the heat and keeping it from escaping out the bottom, so that it circulates evenly from top roller to back roller. Note that to use this comfortably, as others have mentioned, you definitely need to get foam ear protectors, and wear some kind of light towel around your neck, to protect it from the heat. You can always adjust the heat downward, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the quick drying results. Just suck it up, keep it on the next to highest heat setting (60), and protect your ears/skin, and you'll be fine. Another benefit is that it's so easy to move from room to room, and the hood height can be adjusted on the stand to fit most any chair setup. I use it with my existing living room armchair, and the castor wheels on the base roll comfortably under so that I can sit back in luxurious comfort with my feet on the ottoman, and still have the dryer hood extend, or overhang, comfortably over the back of the chair.
Don't even get me started on the $120 or so dollars I'm saving every month by doing my own hair, or the fact that I'm no longer a slave to my stylist's schedule and availability. She now sees me only for rare cuts, color treatments or (relaxer) touch-ups. Overall, I am 100% satisfied with the quality and performance of this dryer, and have recommended it to everyone I know. You will forget all about the initial investment once you start reaping the immediate benefits mentioned above, and realize that you can't put a price on your valuable time. I can always earn back the $300 I spent on this, but I'll never be able to get back the time I lost or wasted previously (not to mention lost "quality of life" opportunities where I could have been engaged in other enjoyable activities), associated with this process.
This dryer is not suited for that purpose. Although I have not used it to rollerset my hair, I can tell it would be excellent for that purpose. The reason why is because the air circulates as opposed to blowing straight down on my head. That is why people have left rave reviews of quicker drying times.
However, the circulation creates a suction that pulls at any plastic conditioning cap I've used (hence the double-edged sword). I have to hold down my plastic cap in order to keep it from being pulled off my head. Also, the circulation pushes air beneath the plastic conditioning cap. This results in portions of my hair being dried as opposed to having a steaming (conditioning) effect as a result of the heat and wet hair.
The only viable solution I've come up with is to wear a thin headband (sort of like the Goody Ouchless ones) over my plastic cap. However, that can be really uncomfortable because the headband has to be of a certain "tightness" in order to hold the plastic cap on my head. It has me worried about damage to my hair. It's also really difficult to move my hair away from the edge of the plastic cap while trying to fit the headband on the edge of the cap.
I'm kind of frustrated right now. I bought this in September after waiting three years to purchase it. Yes, I did wait three years to buy this thing. It's very expensive, and I didn't want to waste my money. However, I don't think I made a wise decision.
Now, don't think that I am putting this dryer down because I do think it's an excellent dryer. It's just not suited for deep conditioning. This is a dryer that is made for rollersetting. If you are thinking of using it for that purpose, do not hesitate to purchase it.
To summarize....
Some positives:
Extremely easy to assemble (took less than five minutes)
Temperature regulation going all the way up to 70 degrees F.
Timer up to 1 hour
Ample amount of space for rollers
Height extends up to six feet
Easy to move around the house
Some negatives:
Takes a long time to heat up-almost 20 mins.
The timer is really loud-it's like you have the 60 minutes theme stuck in your ear
Can barely hear anything outside of the air and timer when sitting under the dryer
Requires a lot of storage space
Expensive

...and by "double-edged sword" I mean the very thing that makes it worth purchasing is the very reason why I don't like it. Let me explain why I bought it. I am an inch and a half shy of being 6 feet tall. I have a long torso, and it has been very difficult for me to find a dryer that I can sit under and not have to squirm. I was also tired of using conditioning caps that required me to smush my afro textured hair down in order to use them [the conditioning caps]. The Pibbs 514 was the only dryer that I found that seemed like a trustworthy product, and also extended to an acceptable height (btw, I almost have to fully extend it in order to sit comfortably under it-it's excellent for that purpose). Now, I am not the type of woman who rollersets her hair. I am a deep conditioner, and I like to do it once a week. This dryer is not suited for that purpose. Although I have not used it to rollerset my hair, I can tell it would be excellent for that purpose. The reason why is because the air circulates as opposed to blowing straight down on my head. I just got the Pibbs dryer about 5 weeks ago. I had a cheaper dryer that took me 1 and 1/2 hours to dry my hair and even then it still wouldn't be completely dry. This Pibbs dryer completely dries my hair in half the time and my hair is shiny! I just love it. I haven't gone to my hair dresser for a roller set since I got it. Well worth the money.Honest reviews on Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Dryer Big Sale!
My hubby got this dryer for me for Christmas 2010 and I absolutely Love it! It does great roller sets nice and shiny. I also sit under the dryer with conditioner. The trick to this dryer is using a hair net. My dryer came with one so when I use a plastic cap to deep condition I put the small hair net on so the plastic cap does not come off...Also When I rollerset I use a large triangle hair net and ear protectors because this baby gets hot. It is a great investment plus I am a little over 2 years post relaxer so it helps me a great deal so I do not have to use a bunch of direct heat. If you are looking for a sturdy easy to use anywhere and sit anywhere dryer that cuts drying time in more than half... This is the dryer for you. I am actaully writing this review sitting under the dryer. Also when deep conditioning you do not need the dryer on super hot heat go medium heat you only want to steam the hair not dry it. I hope this helps someone to make the best decision ever about a dryer. I HEART THIS DRYER!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Dryer Big Sale!
This is the same dryer used at my Domincan Hair salon. It has temperature and a timer control. It dries my hair evenly and does not fry my hair and leave in brittle. You need to purchase a hair net to use it, and I would recommend ear coverings. Now I dont have to leave my house to get a fabulous wash and set. Its expensive but it really works well.Buy Solano Super Red & Black 1800 Watt Dryer

I've had this dryer for over five years... probably closer to seven or eight years but I can't quite remember. I also bought one for my sister at the same time. She called me recently and mentioned that hers seemed to be dying... in a spectacular fit of sparks each time she used it. The problem was, she was still trying to use it, sparks and all. In order to avoid her literally setting her hair on fire, I sent her mine immediately, priority mail. Her mane is now safe. I miss this dryer though and that got me to thinking about its replacement and a review.
Review: This dryer is excellent in every way as far as professional results go. Pretty much every stylist in every salon I've been to in NYC uses this exact model. I have thinner hair so this is a lot of power for me. My sister has much thicker and longer hair and this dryer is just made for that kind of volume. It blows really hot you can see the steam rise off your hair. Doesn't burn the hair but *can* really hurt if you get too close to the scalp.
I'm not sure why it comes with two concentrators because they pretty much do the exact same thing. A comb attachment would be better. Solano does make a comb+concentrator dual attachment Solano International 2 In 1 Professional Comb and Concentrator Dryer Attachment which is *excellent*! It's not shown in the photo here but it should hopefully come with a filter attachment which for the rear of the dryer. Keeps lint out really well.
This dryer is a little on the heavy side but not excessively so; mys sister never complained but I guess I have weak wrists. After all these years and still being able to pass it on I am definitely impressed with its performance and longevity, even though one of the two has died. BTW, I did not use mine quite as often as my sister did; I often opt to air dry if I have the time so relatively speaking hers got a lot more use and that would explain why mine lasted longer.
Replacement: I was almost going to order the exact same one but my needs and hair have changed. In researching, I decided that just because an item is "the Best" with every bell and whistle, maybe I don't need every bell and whistle for it to be the best for me. Since my hair barely hits my shoulders, is fine textured and not very dense, I decide to go with something that's best suited my hair and needs. Oh, and I also have terrible arthritis in my hands so lightweight was important too. I decided to go with Sedu Revolution Pro 3600i Lightweight Ionic Styling Hair Dryer. Turns out that *less* power can also be a good thing. I posted a review there if you're interested, but if not I'll spare you the many details here ; suffice to say, this one covers all of my bases.
Bottom line: an excellent professional dryer. Highly recommended

This is the dryer my hair stylist uses, so I decided to buy one. I absolutely love it. It DOES dry my hair in half the time of my old dryer (a cheap-o conair). This is because it really blows a lot of air at a powerful burst. It also does not have the annoying whine sound most dryers produce, this model is more of a hum. Here are the specs written on the box:
-output: 2000 watts
-airflow: 73 cubic meters/hours
-motor: K-Lamination -watt 120
18mm brushes life 2000 hours
-motor fan electronic balancing
-12x16 amp switches solid silver contacts
-2 speed, 4 temperature settings
-microswitch operated instant cold air
-built in nickel chrome heating elements and safety thermostat
-air gap thermal insulation
-two unbreakable nozzles (included)
-highly flexible 3m long cable
-ceramic & ionic edition
-Made in Italy
My hair is much more healthy looking, even after just a week of use. I highly recommend this hair dryer.

I have been a hairdresser for almost fifteen years and have used this brand for about ten. This is by far the best blow dryer in terms of weight, size and most importantly performance. It is ideal for anyone, if you are straightening curly, thick hair or have fine hair. Make sure to use it on high heat and low speed for you fine haired girls, it will just make the process of drying your hair quicker with great results! Treat your dryer with care (do not allow it to fall on the floor) and it will last you forever!Best Deals on Turbo Power Open Box 3500IONIC TwinTurbo 3500 Ceramic and Ionic
I was a little hesitant to order this blowdryer given how expensive it is but it's really a great blowdryer and worth the money. Its really little and so light but extremely powerful! I have long thick hair and it has cut my blowdrying time about 15 mins (used to be a total of 30-35 mins). If you want a really straight look, I would suggest also purchasing the Denman paddle brush (the big one). Blowdrying your hair with this blowdryer using that brush leaves a really straight and sleek look. I love it! I've been a professional hair stylist for about 20 years. I've worked in salons and work on photoshoots around the world. I have used just about every professional dryer that exists. This is the best I've ever used. It dries quickly, doesn't burn the hair and the dryer itself is very well made and strong. I recently had to replace my other TwinTurbo after 2 years of every day use and different electricity connections around the world. Other dryers before I had TwinTurbo lasted only about 4-6 months. I highly recommend this dryer!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Turbo Power Open Box 3500IONIC TwinTurbo 3500 Ceramic and Ionic

This is an ok dryer. It doesn't put out alot of heat and the attachements that come with it don't fit.Do not buy this hair dryer, it is light weight, almost like a toy instead of a full size hair dryer. The hot setting is more like a warm setting and it doesn't automatically come out hot it takes it several seconds to heat up. Also the high setting does not blow high at all! It is also very loud! For such a light weight dryer it makes a lot of noise! I have thin fine hair and it takes twice as long to blow dry my hair with this dryer than it does with even my travel dryer! I would not suggest buying this dryer to anyone. SO NOT IMPRESSED! I would love to return it but my son tore up the box it was in so I will keep it for a back up dryer if the new one I plan to buy this weekend ever goes out!

Unfortunately the Elchim Diffuster didn't fit my Elchim. The included adapter didn't work either. I am going to look at other diffusers instead.
Wanted to give it zero stars, but it wouldn't let me.
Regarding the attachment, it's needs a little effort to attach it and remove it. But once it's there, you won't worry about it falling off which would have bugged me a big deal when I'm in the middle of doing my hair and things would keep falling!!

Completely useless for me because does not fit on my Elchim Blow dryer. Wish it would more specifically indicate which one it works on. Planning to resale or toss it!Honest reviews on Elchim Diffuser
Bought diffuser as it is specifically recommended to fit my Elchim Uragano model. No way this diffuser fits the Uragano....there is an internal hard plastic barrier on the diffuser that prevents attachment to the dryer, and it's impossible to remove. Tried duct-taping it, but the dryer heat melted the duct tape off. The removable screen also does not stay on, it falls off whenever you move the diffuser around. This Elchim product is worthless. It's also impossible to find any diffusers that fit taper-nosed dryers, too.Wanted to give it zero stars, but it wouldn't let me.

I had been using a similar item with a philips hair dryer for 2 years, then I purchased this diffuser with an elchim hair dryer couple of months ago. This gives very good results if you have a wavy or curly hair and you wanna blow dry it keeping well defined curls without frizz! I have curly hair and I usually put some serum or cream and leave it to dry out in summer but I use this diffuser when the weather is cold or I want to dry my hair fast and yet not have it messed up and all over the place by using just the regular blow dryer. I have no idea what result you would get with naturally straight hair. But I know it will do no good if you try to straighten curly/wavy hair with this diffuser.Regarding the attachment, it's needs a little effort to attach it and remove it. But once it's there, you won't worry about it falling off which would have bugged me a big deal when I'm in the middle of doing my hair and things would keep falling!!

I PLAN TO FILE A CLAIM, WHICH IS UNFORTUNATE, BECAUSE I REALLY ONLY WANTED MY ITEMS!!!!These are great extensions for going out for the evening especially a concert when you're going to see a group that is from the 60's-80's, the Rock n' Roll era! Us old school rockers love to try and look a little bit like we did way back when....... lol, some people think they can still pull it off from head to toe and they look a fool!!!! The only suggestion I would give to your company is that when you say it's purple maybe it should be actually be purple and not fushia pink, the blue was blue but the purple was pink!!!!!!

I adore this stuff. It is reasonable in price and it left my hair so smooth and shiny. I never blow dry my hair without it. I have very thick hair and very long and it seemed to help cut my drying time by about 10 min. LOVE IT

This is my favorite hair styling product. It works on my fine curly hair to make it straight without getting it too oily.Best Deals on Giovanni Cosmetics 2chic Ultra-Sleek Blow Out Styling Mist
Every single review i've read about this stuff gives it glowing reviews and I don't get it. I purchased this for my super fine/thin, naturally wavy, easily breakable hair to protect it from my blowdryer and the occasional flat ironing. I've used other argan oil products with decent results (gave great slip and shine but tended to weigh down my hair due to silicones in the serums) so I was excited to find a spray that didn't contain those silicones but still had the oil in it. First, I HATE the scent (if you like coconuts, you'll love it). But that doesn't sway my opinions about products. I sprayed it on freshly washed, towel-dried hair and combed through with a detangling comb like the directions say to and immediately I noticed a...stiff?...feel to my hair, almost like it undid any benefits of the conditioner I used in the shower. It actually made my hair harder to detangle and found I broke off more hair trying to get the comb through it than had I used nothing at all. Then I tried blowdrying. Just didn't give my hair the slip it needed to get my hair dried properly. Maybe it's the keratin in this product, but i've used It's a 10 with Keratin leave in conditioner on my ends before and didn't have this problem. I also tried spraying this on dry hair, almost dry hair, spraying it on my hands and distributing it, and tried using a varying amounts and still had the same problems. I don't know what i'm doing wrong but i'm not a fan and will be giving this product away to someone that hopefully it'll work for.Cheap Microfiber Hair Turban with Antibacterial Protection (Pink-AH6022)

This item is just as described. I tried it on to see if it worked and it was a little small for my head (rides up). Perfect for the 10 year old for whom it was purchased though.
Apparently a lot, because I can't live without one. I wore that turban into the ground and it got so bad even my boyfriend had considered buying me a new one all on his own because he was sick of looking at my sad little worn out one. But I beat him to it and ordered this. I don't love pink and would prefer a darker color, but other then that it's just what I wanted. Nice material, comfortable to wear. It's really nice to use when you're running around and keeps your wet hair out of your face. I'm not looking for anything that dries my hair any faster, since I air dry anyway. Great product, would order it again.

A few years ago someone gave me a "turbie" brand hair turban as a gift. Since the towel arrived through the mail, I instantly try it out after washing my hair. Loved it eversince. It kept hair dry faster. Worth the money.Honest reviews on Microfiber Hair Turban with Antibacterial Protection (Pink-AH6022)
When I ordered this, I was under the impression that it would help my hair dry more quickly. It held my hair securely in place and was far less bulky than the bath towel I usually use, but my hair stayed much wetter than when I wrap it in a towel. Still, I prefer this to a towel because it holds my hair so securely.Review of Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Hair Dryer Caster Base

I've never in my life experience a hair dryer like this. All of the good reviews you read about this dryer are all true. My time sitting under the dryer went from 1:45-2:00 or longer to 1:00-1:15. Just purchased this dryer less than a week and used it twice. I love the timer, the adjusted heat settings and yes it gets very HOT!! I usually put the setting between 50-60, having it any higher is too hot. This hair dryer dries evenly all over your head not just one spot. I could not believe how quick my hair dried. You have a professional grade dryer for home use, you will see a difference how your hair dries and the end result is awesome. Worth every penny and did I mention it's not made of cheap material. I did not find this dryer to be loud actually this is the quietest dryer I've owned. Highly recommend this dryer it's amazing love it love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This dryer has easy assembly (you'll only need a wrench), and gets as hot as salon dryers. You'll hesitate on the price, but given you'll pay around $40 every other week for a salon visit and save on gas and time, this is is not only a great purchase, but a great investment.
I've only had this dryer for four weeks, so if anything negative happens, I will update my review.
The product came very quickly and the dryer took about 2 minutes to set up. I agree with other reviewers the lid is difficult to open and feels like it is going to break. Hopefully it will get better after a couple of uses.
The dryer has a temp. gage as well as a timer which is very helpful. Immediately I could tell the difference with this dryer because the air circulates instead of just blowing straight down on your hair. If you are on the fence about this due to price I suggest investing the extra money because it will save you time.

I purchased this dryer becomes I am in the process of switching from relaxed hair to natural hair. This dryer is perfect because I find that I am washing my hair more often. (Went from generally once every two weeks to once a week). Salon visits that often were out of the question. Because of the wind technology, I've found that my hair can get completely dry on a very low heat setting (medium length hair). Perfect! I love the adjustable height and it is easy for me to simply dry my hair in my bathroom and then collapse it for easy storage in my walk in closet. I also have two daugthers with long, natural hair and this dryer has been perfect. Yeah, it's a bit pricey, but, it's totally worth the expense. I've only had the dryer for about a month; but, I would say that if I went to the salon the same number of times I've used this dryer, it's already paid for itself. I had a slight issue with shipping. The item did not ship in the twenty four hour period indicated when I ordered. (which was a Saturday). By Wednesay, I decided to email UglyNBeauty. I recieved a prompt response that it was shipping that night and I had my dryer by Friday. Great experience overall.Best Deals on Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Hair Dryer Caster Base
I'm very happy with this purchase. I've never been a big salon goer, but it was necessary since all conventional hair dryers and flat irons couldn't get my hair to salon quality texture or losing a bunch of hair whenever I did my hair. I realized it was due to the hair dryer I was using. This dryer has easy assembly (you'll only need a wrench), and gets as hot as salon dryers. Honest reviews on Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Hair Dryer Caster Base
I bought this product because of the great reviews. My hair is mid back length and extremely thick. My previous hooded dryer the babyliss pro would take me three hours to dry my hair. I can not afford to wait three hours under a dryer. The pibbs took me an hour and a half. I am thrilled with that. This is the same type of dryer they use in the Dominican salons. The product came very quickly and the dryer took about 2 minutes to set up. First I must say wow! I'm so happy I purchased this hair dryer. It was expensive but worth it, great investment. My hair is relaxed, bra-strap length and thick. It would take me 1 hour to dry using my old hooded table top dryer. With the Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri it takes only 20 minutes!! I'm so happy with this hair dryer. It's gets really hot when set to the highest temperature and drys really fast. I just cover my ears with a paper towel and sit for 20 minutes. My hair feels really nice and soft when dried. I love the timer feature, love that it stops automatically once timer ends. My old hair dresser had a dryer similar to this, I'm so happy I can now have a salon quality dryer in the privacy of my own home. No more waiting for the dryer to be free at the salon.Review of Herstyler Super Set with Super Styler Straightener and 3 Part Hair

I was just at the mall and let the girls from the Herstyler kiosk present this item to me. I was amazed! I have super thick half curly half wavy hair. I usually spend 30 minutes blow drying and 45 minutes straightening, not to mention all the times ive attempted hot rollers for pretty curls. She had my hair straight in no time at all and showed me some awesome curls that will last for a couple days. She gave me her best price at $238 for the kit and I almost bought it. Im so glad I found it here for $68. I havent received it yet but I know this is going to be a life changer! Im sick of hiding my un-tameable hair in ponytails. Super Excited!
I did do a lot of on-line research to ensure I am receiving the same exact product as the mall.

So I just took my curler out of the box less than 20 minutes ago and already I'm done curling ALL my hair. I watched about 2 minutes of youtube for tips on how to use clipless curlers, decided I had to play with my new toy even though it's just about bedtime, and basically within 10 minutes I was done. It probably isn't as good a job as I'd do if I were actually trying to make it look fit for going out in the daytime (so add maybe 3-5 extra minutes to do the hair serum/spray bit), but seriously my hair still looks pretty amazing. This thing heats up in about literally 5 seconds (putting those "heats up in 60 seconds!" types to shame) and is SUPER hot. It's really easy just hold it downwards, wrap your hair around it, and be careful with the tips of your fingers! I've never used a clipless curler before and I didn't burn myself or make any weird hair kinks or anything. I'm just sad I haven't bought a clipless before now. I can't attest to how long the curls will last, but for being so quick my hair looks almost perfect. I'm in awe. I hate gushing and over the top reviews but for real guys this thing was great.Honest reviews on Herstyler Super Set with Super Styler Straightener and 3 Part Hair

I like this dryer as its very hot and does the job well of drying my hair relatively quickly. About 30 mins on high setting. Just a small drawback is that its also a bit on the noisy side. Other than that i'm quite satisfied.
