I've had this dryer for over five years... probably closer to seven or eight years but I can't quite remember. I also bought one for my sister at the same time. She called me recently and mentioned that hers seemed to be dying... in a spectacular fit of sparks each time she used it. The problem was, she was still trying to use it, sparks and all. In order to avoid her literally setting her hair on fire, I sent her mine immediately, priority mail. Her mane is now safe. I miss this dryer though and that got me to thinking about its replacement and a review.

Review: This dryer is excellent in every way as far as professional results go. Pretty much every stylist in every salon I've been to in NYC uses this exact model. I have thinner hair so this is a lot of power for me. My sister has much thicker and longer hair and this dryer is just made for that kind of volume. It blows really hot you can see the steam rise off your hair. Doesn't burn the hair but *can* really hurt if you get too close to the scalp.

I'm not sure why it comes with two concentrators because they pretty much do the exact same thing. A comb attachment would be better. Solano does make a comb+concentrator dual attachment Solano International 2 In 1 Professional Comb and Concentrator Dryer Attachment which is *excellent*! It's not shown in the photo here but it should hopefully come with a filter attachment which for the rear of the dryer. Keeps lint out really well.

This dryer is a little on the heavy side but not excessively so; mys sister never complained but I guess I have weak wrists. After all these years and still being able to pass it on I am definitely impressed with its performance and longevity, even though one of the two has died. BTW, I did not use mine quite as often as my sister did; I often opt to air dry if I have the time so relatively speaking hers got a lot more use and that would explain why mine lasted longer.

Replacement: I was almost going to order the exact same one but my needs and hair have changed. In researching, I decided that just because an item is "the Best" with every bell and whistle, maybe I don't need every bell and whistle for it to be the best for me. Since my hair barely hits my shoulders, is fine textured and not very dense, I decide to go with something that's best suited my hair and needs. Oh, and I also have terrible arthritis in my hands so lightweight was important too. I decided to go with Sedu Revolution Pro 3600i Lightweight Ionic Styling Hair Dryer. Turns out that *less* power can also be a good thing. I posted a review there if you're interested, but if not I'll spare you the many details here ; suffice to say, this one covers all of my bases.

Bottom line: an excellent professional dryer. Highly recommended
