I can't believe how long I have been needlessly been walking around with frizzy hair due to those cheap $20 hair dryers sold from retail pharmacies and stores. I have been impressed by the results. My hair is softer and NO FRIZZ. This blower has good heating ability and has a strong air flow. What good is the heating without good flow. The drying time is shorter....it used to take me 17 minutes but now it only takes me 12 or so minutes. My only complaint is that the attachment falls off easily. I was concerned that this blower would be too powerful on the circuit breaker, but no problem whatsoever.....I even leave the TV on. I recommend this blower without hesitation.

My sister-in-law is a hair stylist and swears by this brand but when I used the dryer, it didn't do anything special for my hair at all. In fact, it made it look so flat and left my hair without any body. My hair felt smooth and soft, but it didn't necessarily look that way. Even on the highest setting there's not a whole lot of power, it blows less air and doesn't get as hot as my previous dryer I had an Elchim and it was definitely better. Not sure if the wattage has much to do with it, this is 1875 and my Elchim was 2000. But the 1875 should be fine for my hair since it's normal and not too thick. If you want the flat, straight-ironed look and have thicker hair, this might work for you. For the price I paid, I wasn't impressed. For the record, my sister-in-law's dryer performs much differently, even though it's the exact same model. That makes me suspicious that perhaps this was a refurbished dryer or maybe even a fake if that's even possible. The box was not sealed, though the packaging inside was fine. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else had the same experience.

I just love this flat iron! I have REALLY long hair and I opted for this one rather than the three-inch-wide iron. The three-inch-wide iron is really too big and hard to use. I have straight hair naturally, but it has a slight wave to it. This iron is great for that shiny, stick-straight look.

It is really light, easy to use and great for travel! Hot Tools is always a great brand. It's the only brand I use now. I prefer the ceramic tourmaline tools, but they do not have one in the flat iron arena. This regular ceramic is still good though. I can definitely tell the next day that my hair feels less dry then it normally does when I use a non-ceramic iron.

If you can choose the seller, pick DiscountJungle. Their prices are almost always cheaper...but beware, shipping is about $10. However, the item always arrives quickly. I've used DiscountJungle twice now. Both times the items arrived two days after I placed the order.

After I purchased my 1189 Hot tools flat iron it exploded on me while in use. Please be aware that this model is not very reliable. I prefer the 1177 model instead. i have had better luck with that one.

The main reason I wanted this dryer is because it blows "cold" air as well as hot. I had a Conair dryer that did that for years. The main thing wrong with this new Conair dryer is if you have it on full speed and switch to cool air the power is reduced! When it's hot I start to sweat while using the hot heat so by switching to cool air I can continue to dry the hair without sweating. But when the power is reduced you don't get the same force of air. I don't know why they did that and it wasn't in the product description so there's no way I would have known. I kept it because it was the only one I could find that blows cool air.

Cons: Low speed is too low, high speed is too high. It doesn't blow hot air for the first 5 minutes. Speed button is hard to control quickly, I always go past the "off" when I want it to switch off. It reminds me of cheap hotel blow dryers. The back doesn't have a filter, so my hair gets stuck in it if I turn wrong.

Pros: It was cheap. It's lightweight.

OK ladies and Gents... I am going to break it down for all ya'll on the best way to use this stuff. It took me a while, but I think I have figured out the process. (Excuse the poor spelling... no spell check on this thing!)

The thing is to pay attention to YOUR hair texture!! If when you wash your hair and it does not have that gorgeous "curl" and has more of a "wave", you need to ring out your hair after washing/ rinsing (towel drying creates frizz). Apply the Knot Today conditioner(they really do work well together), then section your hair into 4 quarters. Take about a dime sized amount of the KCCC and create two strand twists all over in all four sections. It's up to you to decide how many two strand twists. If you want a more defined and curled texture, make smaller. Less defined, make twists bigger. You can air dry or sit under a hood dryer. My tip here is not to make the dryer too hot. Less heat, less frizz! After your hair is dry, use your favorite oil sheen or light hair oil and un-twist if needed. I put a little oil on my finger tips when I un-twist. That way all of the locks get the same amount of oil without over doing it. Re-apply as needed here.

Now, If your hair is fine and you do get that "curl" when your hair is wet. Rinse, ring out, apply conditioner and section as stated before. Apply a dime size ammount and work KCCC through with a wide tooth comb. (regardless of your texture always use a wide tooth comb on wet hair! it stops breakage.) For finer hair types I reccomend air drying, but if you have to use a hair dryer, use a hand held one on a cool/warm setting with a diffuser on the end. This helps prevent frizz a lot!!

FOR ALL HAIR TYPES: Sleep with a satin/silk bonett at night to prevent unwanted kinks, dryness and damage caused by cotton pillow cases. In the morning, take a spray bottle and add a little KCCC Knot Today and warm water together and shake. Spray lightly to refreshen your look!

I have been natural for seven years, and products are going to work different on all of us because we are all different. Work with this one ya'll, we might actually have something great if we give it a chance!

I have the typical non-racial mixed black girl hair; Nappy and kind of rough. My co-worker exclaimed how wonderful this product this is for natural hair, and I my hair would be so curly. I went to whole foods and purchased knot today and Curling Custard together, went and applied hair products as described on the bottles. And trust me when I tell you that I looked a hot mess!

My hair was matted, still wet, and crunchy! i was so embarrassed! I had to attend a family function with a hat on. Its not for my more nappy headed sistas. I try to salvage this expensive custard by using with my curler set but it made my hair crunchy and so flaky.

I do not recommend this product unless you have hair that curls when its wet and it looks good.

And, you must know about your hair type. If you've have hair that shrinks when it dries, short of going back to chemical products or a weave, there isn't a product available that will prevent shrinkage. Andre Walker defines this hair type as 4

Type 4 is kinky, or very tightly curled, with a clearly visible curl pattern

Circumference: Crochet needle or even smaller

The hair is very wiry, very tightly coiled and very, very fragile

Type 4 hair can range from fine/thin to wiry/coarse with lots and lots of strands densely packed together

Type 4 hair has fewer cuticle layers than any other hair type, which means that it has less natural protection from the damage you inflict by combing, brushing, curling, blow-drying and straightening it

Type 4 hair is known to shrink up to 75% of the actual hair length

KC will work on type 4 hair, but it's a process and and drying time can be lengthy, but it can last at least a week or more. The key is to work KC throughy into the hair. This is best done in sections and using your fingers. During the application process hair needs to be wet. Keep a spray bottle handy. Wash hair(using Come Clean for heavy product build up), follow with Knot Today mosisturizer, finger combing through hair to smooth out tangels,I leave about 20 minutes, then rinse. Do not dry hair, add a small amount of Knot Today. Divide hair into four sections, apply KC to a section of the hair, finger comb and smooth hair until the hair is wavy and curls start to form. the amount of curl definition will be determined by the amount of KC used. Repeat for each section. When all sections are done, shake head to distribute hair evenly over head, mist hair if needed. Don't touch hair until dry. Toucing hair while wet will distort curl pattern. In the mornings, if needed mist hair, shake and go, otherwise just shake and go. No combing or brushing. A satin pillow case or sleep cap is a must. Sleeping on cotton dries our hair. With the exception of shampoo, I never mix KC with any other products. While I never refer to my hair as nappy(I say I have tight tiny curls), us type 4 ladies have to learn to be Happy with Nappy:)This process should work for all types. The maker of KC and most natural stylist using the product, recommend air drying.

The Kinky Curly product line is awesome! It does exactly what it says. The Come Clean shampoo lathers up well and smells great. My hair was clean and not stripped. The Knot Today conditioner is a great leave in conditioner! My hair is very thick. It detangled my hair with no problems. The Curling Custard is worth every penny! It goes a long way too. My hair is curly, soft, and has a nice sheen. I usually have to two-strand twist my hair for the wave pattern to keep, but with the custard I just section of my hair a pull the custard down to my ends. It waves and curls up instantly! If the weather is too cool to air dry, I use a soft bonnet dryer to dry my hair. The hair spritz has a nice hold; my hair is still soft afterward. I would recommend this product line to anyone who has natural kinky curly hair!

I bought the product because I have really frizzy, kinky type 4 hair. I have a mixture of type 4 a and b. I tried it and it did create more curl but it was very dense and kinky curls. It didn't give the type of curls you see on the website. It does leave your hair pretty dry and causes more shrinkage. Also, it's a process in application if you do have very very very kinky hair like I do. You have to have soaking wet hair and if it's not it has no effect at all. If you like the texture and look of you hair right now and you want a extra curl to itI would recommend it. However, if you thought it would transform your hair in any waythis isn't your product. It doesn't do miracles you can't have a type 4 hair go to a type 3. It want give you loose curls if you didn't have it already.

I was considering getting hair extensions done, but I have super curly hair and was advised against the more "permenant' hair extensions by my stylist. She recommended I get the Hairdo clip-in instead so i would not damage my hair nor waste money on something that only last at most for 6 months before it has to be redone.

I was a little bit uneasy at first. I was afraid it would look like a fake plastic babie doll wig stuffed underneath my real hair. I could not be more wrong!! The texture of the synthetic piece is actually very very soft and really resembles natural hair. I had my stylist straighten my hair and then put on the extension by myself. It blended in beautifully. The other thing i was nervous about was the extension staying in place. The clips are very secure and do not seem to cause any damage or tangles. The piece comes out very easily with out ripping out your real hair.

I agree with the above user; i would only use this product for special occasions due to the fact the texture of it is really delicate. I have only had the product for a few days so not sure how much wear and tear it will hold up to if left in. I am a bit afraid of it losing the curl. I will update further on the durablity.

Overall excellent product, easy to use, with excellent results.

These hair extenstions are good quality and a good price. I have discovered they are quite uncomfortable if I am dancing and quite difficult to match to your hair color if you don't have hair swatches I finally borrowed a color-match bundle from a friend before discovering that dark auburn is the best match, and I would recommend knowing which of the colors of any brand you are buying matches you before purchasing online. Don't assume that if auburn works with one brand it will be the same with all brands!

I've bought these extensions several times -the 23" wavy -and they look fabulous. No one, and I mean NO ONE has ever figured out that they're extensions. Even my husband had no idea until I told him. They mix with my hair beautifully and blend so that the final effect is simply sexy, full, swingy loose curls. I do strongly suggest you find a swatch somewhere (I just went to Ulta) to make sure you pick the right color. The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because it does eventually tangle and lose it's shine. There is no saving it at that point...I have not had success with washing, etc. However, it costs less than others and works so well it's worth it. My husband drools, women ask for my secret, and I feel like a princess! Super fun. Give it a try.

I love this product! On a hair extension website this product goes for $250, and I am not that committed to my extensions. For $50 this product is great! All of my friends are raving about it and it looks so real. I've read many reviews that the headpiece is too big, it's not for me and I think it's just how you place it on your head. Just be sure to buy the synthetic hair product to go with it. I didn't and it got frizzy and I ended up using spray in conditioner at least twice a day.

Avlon KeraCare Foam Wrap-Set Lotion Review

Just recently cut my hair really short, relaxed and colored it blonde. This is the product my hairdresser used to wrap my hair before she put me under the dryer and my hair came out bouncy, shiney, and silkier than ever. I decided a week later to wash my hair myself (to save a couple dollars) and try to mimic what the stylist did, except I had this QP wrap lotion (that got a ton of surprisingly good reviews not sure why) instead of the Kera Care and it was HORRIBLE hair came out a bit dry and flakey. That night I went on to Amazon and bought the Kera Care styling lotion, as well as the sulfate-free detangling shampoo and OH EM GEE, my hair was CRAZY soft and shiney once I was done. Even after using the flat iron to style it, my hair was salon quality, and believe me when I tell you...I'm no stylist. I can hardly wash my hair properly but these two products definitely do most of the work for you!

Sidebar: I'm funny about what I spend my money on so I get obsessive when it comes to reading reviews before purchasing damn near any and everything, so coming from a real reviewer, hope this helps.

I find that the Kera care line leaves my hair very soft and manageable.

I use this product to wrap my relaxed hair after washing with the Chi moisturizing shampoo and conditioning with a Keracare conditioner.

My hair feels different than it did before, softer and more malleable.

The frizz has been tamed for the most part.

I highly recommend it for those of us with relaxed hair, especially short styles.

Remember though that the other aspects of care including the protection of hair at night and gentle handling of the hair are important.

I also recommend reading the book "Great Hair" by Nick ArrojoGreat Hair: Secrets to Looking Fabulous and Feeling Beautiful Every Day. There is actiually a whole chapter on ethnic hair.
