One word Newfoundland LOTSA fur to dry Have had mine for 2 years and am highly pleased with its operation. Should maybe have bought the AirMax with 2 motors, but mine is more than adequate for the occasional user. It is relatively quiet, and the heat of the motor warms the air stream after a few minutes use. Very sturdy construction and nothing to rust! If you show your large furry beast, consider the AirMax to cut drying time.

I had this dryer for over 10 years and it was worth every cent I originally paid for it. I handle search and rescue dogs as well as compete in schutzhund trials and sieger-style conformation shows with my German Shepherds, and work in dog rescue as a transport and foster home, and this dryer was worth its weight in gold when trying to prepare a handful of dogs for the show ring, bathing and drying a new foster freshly pulled from the pound, or when I needed to wash and dry my dogs late at night after a night of training in the muddy, wintry slop outside. My local DIY dog wash charges $15/dog + tax for a dog wash and use of their dryers. With my 3 personal dogs, being able to groom at home means this dryer paid for itself in just 4 groomings. The forced air blasts the water off the coat, as well as blowing out dead/shed hair and undercoat, meaning less shedding in your home! This dryer was invaluable during the spring and fall coat blowing seasons for removing all that dead undercoat that my dogs are trying to shed around my house. Makes the season bearable with one long-haired German Shepherd and me, as anal retentive 'clean freak' as they come. It will blow all the hair all over the place, so I recommend drying outside or in a garage is possible if you don't want to have hair stuck to every square inch of your home. It comes with a variety of different attachments, and a removable, washable filter. This dryer held together over 10 years on the road, being dropped, jostled, toted around the country, had a teething puppy chew on the hose and wiring, and still managed to hold up and do its job with my duct tape and electrical tape fixes. I finally laid it to rest (and promptly ordered a new one) after the red plastic backing cracked all the way through from puppy teeth marks and repeatedly being dropped and knocked off grooming tables over 10 years and wouldn't stay on and the wiring needed to be redone from being chewed on (something Double K offered to fix for me if I mailed it in). There is no heat to dry out a dog's coat, however the motor warms the air after a few minutes of use. The only cons are that it is quite loud, although I've never had a problem getting a dog used to it after a few times of being patient and persistent with them (one of my male shepherds loves to play-bite at the air stream and thinks it's a big, fun game). It is quite powerful, so I can see the force of the air being a bit of a problem with smaller dogs, although when I worked as a grooming assistant years ago they had similar dryers and had no trouble with the smaller dogs. I highly recommend this dryer.

This particular dryer was recommended to me by several other breeders of Coton de Tulears-bichon-like dogs with long, fine, extremely soft coats. I used to spend WAY too much time with a human hair dryer on my dogs, and was told that "forced air dryers" are the way to go. The Double K ChallengAir blasts water off the dog in comparitively no time at all. One of the great features is NO HEAT. Heat can damage a delicate coat, and your room temperature air is warmed through the motor. Another plus to this dryer is its reasonable cost compared to other forced air dryers on the market. I appreciate the two speeds. Cons: it's loud, like a leaf blower, and my little dogs aren't thrilled when they see it come out of the cupboard! It's also cumbersome to store, and I could see why some folks would spend more money on something more compact.

Honest reviews on ChallengAir 2000AD XL Dryer 2 Spd

I have a little Havanese. When I first got this item, he was a really young pup. Using it, I think I literally almost blew him into the neighbor's yard! He ran over to me and nestled himself into my arm, practically burying himself. Poor little guy wasn't ready for so much power. So I used a hand held human dryer for a while but that got to be really tough. It took a long time and the only way I could get cooler air was by pushing the button on the dryer handle which was not easy, to say the least.

After my boy put on a few more pounds and was used to getting dried, I again tried this dryer on him. Okay, not only powerful, but this thing is quite loud so a pup clearly would have to get used to it. However, it is wonderful, especially when comparing it with a hand held dryer. His long hair is relatively quickly dried (probably less than 25% of the time it took with the human dryer) and it blows it out nice and straight. For those not familiar, this is more of a blower than a dryer and literally blows the water off of the coat to dry it, hence the amount of power needed. Although it does not have a built in heater, the motor contributes some slight warmth, just enough to keep the chill down.

I would have rated it five stars but it really is extremely loud, perhaps a bit louder than a noisy vacuum cleaner. That is not really a problem for me but it might be for some people. I really am quite happy with this purchase.

My mom got me a Conair hair dryer when I was in junior high. That dryer lasted over 15 years until it started to fall apart. I decided to get a nice hair dryer that will hopefully last another 15 plus years. So I did some research and decided to buy the NuMe.

This hair dryer is well built and relatively quiet. The pink zebra pattern is fun. I was concerned when I first used it because the highest temperature setting was no where near as hot as my ancient Conair dryer, but even with a lower "high heat" setting, the NuMe dryer dries my hair twice as fast as my ancient Conair. Must be the infared heat technology it uses! The cool setting is great to lock in shine & set my hair style.

I heard that hair dryers with the negative ion technology made hair look great--and boy does it! My hair is shiner, healthier, and fewer frizziness/fly-aways. I'm in Texas, surrounded by dry heat, so my hair used to be so dry and I had a ton of split ends. I can chalk all that dryness & split ends to the ancient Conair--I've had fewer split ends since I've started using the NuMe and my hair is so silky and shiny--no dry frizziness. I used the Conair about 3 times a week, on the medium setting, and would have split ends within two weeks. I've been using the NuMe for over a month now, 4 to 5 times a week, on the high heat setting, and NO new split ends! I also find that since the NuMe dryer makes my hair less frizzy and gives me fewer split ends, I am putting less product in my hair! Yay!

I've read some complaints regarding the heavy weight of the hair dryer. It dries hair really quickly--so I have not noticed a "heavy weight" problem with this dryer. I have really long, thick hair--my old dryer took over 10 minutes to get my hair about 80% dry. NuMe dryer can get my hair 100% dry within 6 minutes. So since I'm not holding the dryer for a super long time, I don't think the dryer weight is too heavy--feels light to me! Honestly, the weight seemed comparable to most hair dryers that I've seen/tried so I don't know what people are complaining about there.

I also saw some complaints about the attachments that come with the hair dryer stating that the dryer comes with two identical attachments. Actually, the attachments are two different sizes--a larger one and a smaller one to help concentrate airflow to dry hair faster. Since I have longer, thicker hair, and use a big ceramic brush to dry/straighten my hair, I use the larger attachment to concentrate the air flow for a faster dry time. If I was using a smaller brush, or taking smaller sections of hair, I would probably use the smaller one.

This dryer is a bit pricey, but well worth the money in my opinion. It's a pretty solid dryer that should last me a long, long time. I have been getting so many compliments on my hair. Fewer split ends, less frizziness, more shine, more silk, and more beautiful healthy hair! Best purchase I've made in a while by far!

This dryer is awesome...I have very thick hair and I really used to dread drying it because it would take forever and end up looking dry and frizzy afterwards. I finally invested in a good blow dryer and I will honestly never go back to cheap ones again!

Pros:

1) Cut drying time to 25% of what it used to be

2) Does not leave hair dry, frizzy and damaged looking, but silky smooth

3) Requires much less styling afterwards because of awesome smoothness achieved directly after drying(minimal straightening required)

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Bought this for my wife and daughter for a great price, still it was not cheap. The dryer completely stopped working after 6 months of normal use. Never dropped or damaged.

It does include a 1 year warranty, which we didn't bother using. Nume places too many roadblocks for a customer to make use of the warranty. You must first register the dryer in the Nume website, which does not work properly and will not allow you to register the dryer. Second, on top of the out of pocket expense of shipping the dryer to the manufacturer, Nume requests the you, the customer, sends in a check for $40 to cover the costs of shipping the replacement dryer from Nume to you. This policy reeks of a company with little regard for its customers and one which will not stand by its products.

Overall, it was a good blow dryer with poor quality backed by a manufacturer with little regards for customers and lousy customer service.

Honest reviews on NuMe Pro Ionic Hair Blow Dryer in Hot Pink Zebra or White Zebra

I bought this through the Nume site for an incredibly good deal but even so, it wasn't cheap. This dryer went out within 9 months . There is a one year guarantee that I didn't bother using but what if it went out right after a year and you paid full price? That's a scary thought. I was not allowed to post a negative review on the Nume site and that was also disturbing.

It was a good blow dryer. It was heavy but that didn't bother me. I went out and bought a $20 dryer at Walmart with ionic technology after the Nume broke and I love it. If it breaks, I have no worries too!

I bought this and it was the best hairdryer I've ever had....... Until 6 months later when it stopped working, which means I paid WAY too much for the piece of crap! The hair dryer won't get hot just blows out cold air. As others have said NuMe customer service is horrid, they will never answer and if you didn't register the dryer with them they won't help you at all! Just plain BS! DO NOT buy this, especially for $100+ it's a rip off!

I have been using StriVectin-SD(TM) Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks and Wrinkles for a year now and it is a great product. But, I ordered this product from the Amazon Sellers (ALL ABOUT YOU) for 40.99 and (Sophia's Beauty LLC)for 55.72 last month (Nov. 2011) and both purchases appear to be counterfeit StriVectin-SD products. BUYERS BEWARE, the possible fake StriVectin-SD has a product number at the top of the tube 2570A1. The tube is sealed differently on both purchases(compared to my genuine StriVectin SD) and most of all, the product is drastically different. Like the other reviews stated, it pulls your skin when applying the cream and is very drying to your skin. I believe my skin is worse now after using these unknown to me (possibly fake versions) of StriVectin-SD products for the last month. I did try to communicate my concerns with both sellers and I was told that "the product had changed and I just needed to get used to it", NOT TRUE!. The Authentic StriVectin-SD product did not change. There are possible fake versions of StriVectin-SD Cream being sold as the real thing. I finally purchased my StriVectin-SD Cream from Costco and it is same great product I was used to. The Authentic StriVectin-SD is still great and has not changed. Hopefully now that I have the real StriVectin-SD Cream it can repair the damage from the possible counterfeit StriVectin Cream. I love Amazon.com, but Buyers Beware of cheap deals on StriVectin-SD. Best Wishes.

I started using Strivection 2 years ago when I made the decision to lose weight naturally from my 250 lb body after having children. Once I eased into weight loss, I started applying this religiously at least twice daily (of the old formula) on my stomach, thighs, breasts and underarms. I credit the overall tone of my skin now at 135 lbs. solely to Strivectin. It definitely likes to be applied in layers upon itself, I see a much bigger benefit when you follow the directions and use multiple times every day. Now with this new formulation, it only got better! The old formula I would never put on my face with that strong minty odor, but this new one in a white cream is AWESOME!! I'm 32 and fair-skinned, in addition to my residual stretch mark areas, I began putting it on my face morning and night 2 months ago when I went to re-order and saw the new formula, and in 3 weeks I noticed that my face was a paler even-tone, like it was erasing years of normal sun exposure. My freckles were lighter, and 2 scars on my face were much smoother. I began applying to my neck and throat and people started saying "wow, you're face is thinner!" after 2 more weeks. I have finally found the facial moisturizer I can keep using forever, and if I could bathe my entire body in this I WOULD! I have to say though, that at $80 it's a wonderful product, and at the retail price of $135 it would be priced out of my comfort zone for what I think it's worth 5 stars because of Amazon's lower price.

I just contacted Strivectin and here is what I found out for those calling this version of strivectin fake. There have been at least three strivectin formulas...one was the 5% formula made by Klein Becker (the original) that was beige in color and very minty in smell. Klein Becker sold the product to Strivectin Operating Co which came out with TWO new 8% versions. The first version was skin color or if you want to call it light beige in color, creamier lighter texture, some may call it more moisturizing ..to me I would say greasier. This was Strivectin Co's attempt to try and make the new version as close as they could to the original. In the end they found it to be easier to go with this newest (3rd version..2nd new formula) which is white in color, thicker in texture, some may think less moisturizing ..I think less greasy and absorbs better. Both of the newer version's scents I think are similar like peppermint. Some may think one might be stronger than the other. These descriptions are in my own words not strivectins and may not be the adjectives you or they would use but you get the idea. So for those of you saying that what you are purchasing here on amazon is different from what you may have bought at your Macy or Sephora you are correct. There are in fact two new versions. When you call what is being sold here fake-you are NOT correct. This is the latest version. Some stores like mine are selling this newest version. Some stores like the ones people have compared the formulas too if they havent yet sold out of the first new version dont have this formula yet thus the difference you are finding. Dependent upon which formula you like the best, you may think this is good or bad but every store eventually will be caring this version. This newest version also has the white peel and lift tabs for those saying if its not foil its fake-WRONG. Strivectin also verified this lot #2570A1 is authentic. They do not have any counterfeit versions out there according to the rep I spoke to. These are not expired as they have not been out long enough to expire. Unfortunately this information is not on Strivectin website thus creating confusion when buyers are coming across all these different versions and unfortunately jumping to the wrong conclusions. It also doesnt help if the sales person at the store you shop at isnt aware that there are two new versions and gives you the wrong info as well. All I can suggest is to try contacting Strivectin like I did and hopefully you will get a knowledgeable rep and maybe For those who do not like this version can ask the seller which formula they are selling before you buy. For those of us who love this newest formula, take advantage of this great deal!

Honest reviews on StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate for Stretch Marks & Wrinkles

I read the first review and had to put in my two cents. I have used the original Strivectin for years and the results are incredible. I am now 61. I am not shy about my age, but maybe Strivectin makes that a little easier. I look closer to 40 than 61. I am not saying this cream made all the difference (good genes and exercise help too), but I wouldn't trade Strivectin for anything.

The key ingredient in Strivectin is Peptides which stimulates collagen growth. If you know who Dr. Oz is, he says Peptides are by far the best ingredient for restoring and maintaining skin and collagen. The new Strivectin contains four time the amount of Peptides as the original product.

Anyway, nothing works for everyone. There are many factors such as health and genetics that do play a part, I'm sure. All I can say is that it works for me and I love it.

I use to use the old formula which gave you 1oz more of product, so I initially was disappointed when I saw this new formula had 5oz of product instead of 6oz. This new formula however did not disappoint it is a definite improvement from its predecessor. Its sent is lighter and less greasy and tingles way less which is good if your going to use it on the face. I bought this back in January and have seen definite improvement. I wasn't expecting for all my stretch marks to go away and know that it impossible but just wanted for them to look better so I can feel better and this product gave me that.

This is a flat iron i purchased for my daughter however used it on my hair first. The temperature control is a great tool to have on any iron. lt leaves hair straighter than i thought. I have natural hair that I wear flat ironed however when I went outside my hair began to swell which was quicker than it would with my CHI or FHI. I do hair professionally. However I would recommed it and support my daughter having it.

I needed a hairdryer for use in Europe so I ordered this. It does work as advertised. When you get to Europe you turn the little button from 110 to 240. BUT in the United States the hairdryer has two speeds -high and low. When you turn the button to 240, you get ONE speed -high and hot. You are locked out of the low speed. My hair dried really fast, but hot and perhaps damaged.

I read the descriptions of the product and said very clearly that inside the box I should find the relaxer, the neutralizer and the instruction booklet. Unfortunately the booklet was not inside the box. So I had to go on the internet to try to find the instructions to apply the product. It seems this is "recommended to use by a profesional"..oh., please. A beauty parlor charges you more than 500 dollars for this. This, believe me, you can do it your self. So in order for me to help all others who suffered the same as I, of not finding the instructions, here it goes:

To apply all steps you will need:

-Hair dryer (doesn't need to be Bio Ionic)

-Bio Ionic Conditioning straightener iron (Mus be Bio IOnic)

-Intensive Mosturizing Shampoo (if you buy the trio this product is inside)

-Intensive mosturizing reconstructor (if you buy the trio this product is inside)

SHine sealer (if you buy the trio this product is inside)

-Hair coloring brush

-Plastic gloves

-Comb

This are the steps:

1Wash the hair with the Bio Ionic Shampoo, rinse and towel dry.

2Divide the head in 5 or 6 sections, and cover your hands with gloves.

3Put the gloves on and tart applying the #1 Product. No not apply to scalp, leave 1/2 inch. Work fast, and the maximum time depending on the type of hair is 30 minutes (fine hair less time). Then start massaging each section. Te product on this step smells bad, so it's normal. Use a fine comb to work the roots near the face. After time is out. Rinse very well. Do not shampoo, but make sure you rinse well.

4-Blow dry the hair with the hands and dryer, then start using the Iron and make sure you do it very well from the root to the ends.

5After you have finish ironing the hair, then you will need to apply the #2 (neutralizer). This will neutralize the #1 product still in your hair and will take all the bad odor from the hair and will stop the alcaline process from the number 1 product.

6Rinse well and shampoo 3 times with the Bio Ionic Shampoo. Rinse and then apply the mosturizing reconstructor. Massage and wear a plastic cap for like 30 minutes. Rinse well.

7Towel Dry your hair. Apply shine sealer to wet hair. Then blow dry hair. If you prefer blow drying with a hair dryer or the Bio Ionic Iron.

This is a very time consuming process, but believe me it's worth it. No wonder why hair salons charges so much money. But you can do it at home.

It's recommended not to wear any rubber bands, bobby pins or anything that can leave a wave in you hair. . Avoid sweat, don't wet you hair during shower, and sleep with a satin pillowcase. All this measures just for 72 hours.

I wrote this steps because I did not like not receiving the intruction booklet. I think this is somewhat a way to make you go to a professional salon. Hair pro's are human and intellingent like me and you, If they cand do it so can we, so there you go, do it yourself and don't spend money in a beauty parlor. Good bye to you all!

Best Deals on Bio Ionic Retex Hair Straightening System, Retex Kit

Background: Naturally, I have very unmanageable thick, dark, kinky hair that is very resistent to straightening and easily frizz-prone. I've been getting annual Japanese Thermal Reconditioning treatments for about 7 years now. Salon costs usually run from at least $150 and up, so when I found out about this home kit, I was really excited to try it out.

Packaging: There are two tubs that fit nicely into one box. The first jar is the retexturing cream used to chemically straighten out the kinks in hair and the second cream is the neutralizing cream used to stop the chemical processing of the retexturing cream.

Procedure This is how I did it:

Washed hair with moisturizing shampoo. Did not use conditioner like directions indicated.

Asked my mother, who used to work in a hair salon, to section hair off into small part and apply retexturing cream #1 using a hair-dye brush and a comb to evenly distribute product.

I have long hair up to my chest and only used a third of a jar. (I recommend doing this in a well ventilated place because the ammonia smell is quite strong).Took about 30 min to finish application, even though directions say it should only last for 6. I wanted to be extra thorough.

Left on for another 30 minutes, like directions indicated. Looking back, I should have left it on for an hour. The hair on the bottom of the head got the full hour treatment since it was the first section for the cream to be applied, and it was much straighter when I used the flat iron than the top sections, which only got 30 min treatment. When I got this done in salons, the hairstylists would also leave it on for 45-60 minutes. I didn't this time because my hair was dyed twice in the past year and I was afraid of more damage. I do recommend the full hour leave on if you have resistent or virgin hair though. Also, for resistent hair, put hair in a shower cap (carefully, to ensure hair is still straight) and blow dry for the entire wait time for the chemicals to work more effectively.

Wash off thoroughly without using shampoo. Hair is veryy hard and sticks together like crazy at this point.

Blow dry thoroughly.

Section off hair again and using a good non-drugstore ceramic hair straightener (I used a Karmin professional 1 inch iron at 400 degrees) straighten each section carefully. Directions recommend 3 passes, but I used 4-5 passes for my hair to be straight, though wasn't pin straight. I did not get a pin-straight look as a result like I normally would in the salon. But that's because they usually do 6-10 passes that makes my hair extremely fragile and thin. Pin straight hair also greatly reduces volume and makes my face look bigger. I like this result much better because it looks like I got a Brazillian Keratin treatment, natural-looking straight, frizz free hair.

Finally, section hair off again and apply the cream #2 (this smells much better than cream #1) and wait for 10-20 minutes (directions recommend 7 min). Wash off, used conditioner on roots to detangle and follow up with leave-in protein treatment (I used Redken Extreme Anti-snap) for roots and nourishing oil (jojoba oil, emu oil, olive oil, coconut oil, etc) for the entire head.

I'm very happy with the result. It did not look like I went to the salon and got an obvious hair-straightening procedure. Rather, it looks like I was born with naturally straight hair. Still have 2/3 of the tube left and will be using again in another 6 months or so. Highly recommended!

Honest reviews on Bio Ionic Retex Hair Straightening System, Retex Kit

This product is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TO A PROFESSIONALLLLL!!!! Seriously.

I have in between curly/wavy RED hair that is very long and very dry (the ends were chemically processed a long time ago the top of my hair is virgin hair). I was a little worried that this product would destroy my hair but i am one of those "itll grow back people" so i went for it. I am 9 months preggo and have a 1 year ld daughter so i have NO time to do my hair anymore (my hair take 60 minutes+ every other day) so i bought this praying it would cut down on my styling time. The 1st product is fumy!!! very very strong. since i am preggo i did the application outside. Before i put down what i did you should know I am NOT a hair stylist and i have never dont anything to my hair myself... no color or anything, so it was my first time working with chemicals (and it was cake)

Products i used:

sallys highlighting hair color brush 1.99

Bio ionic retex system (not the trio) just the box of 2 products 30.00

Suave clarifying shampoo .89

3 minute miracle conditioner 3.99

Revlon straighter 430 degrees 24.99

revlon blow dryer 30.00

plastic clips. 2.00

round brush from walmart 3.00

Here is what I did:

1. I read the directions and watched the dvd it came with. Kind of important.

2. I washed my hair with a generic clarifying shampoo

3. I had my mother section off my hair with clips and used the hair color brush to apply the first product ALL over. I started with the bottom section and worked my way to the top of my head. The application took 35 minutes and i left it on once applied for an extra 35 minutes.

4. I performed the processing test, i took a small strand of hair wrapped it around both index fingers and stretched it to make sure it would stretch 50% of its original length, it did so i washed it out....

5. I Rinsed my hair NO SHAMPOO!!! For 10 minutes very, very gently. I basically just stood under the water for five minutes and let the product loosen ( it was very thick and stiff) and then used my fingers to gently get out the rest.

6. I gently towel dried my hair, i just pat my head all over until it wasnt dripping anymore.

7. I dried my hair with an inexpensive revlon blow dryer until it was completely dry, i used a round brush and my fingers to untangle hair while drying.

8. i used a REVLON straighter at 430 degrees to get my hair poker straight, about 6 passes on each strand.

9. My mom gently sectioned off my hair again and CAKED product number two all over my hair keeping my hair as straight as possible. I left product on for 7 minutes.

10. Rinsed it out for 10 minutes in the shower. and used my conditioner for 3 minutes

11. I blew dry my hair but i didnt have to straighten it because it came out poker straight

This product has saved me SO much time and effort. Now i dont know what to do with my straightening irons.

My hair is still perfectly healthy BTW. It did lighten up a TINY bit though, but it noticeable to anyone but me. $500.00 hair salon treatment?? no way this is way better.

The background:

I've done the Japanese hair straightening system a few times in the past at various hair salons so I'm somewhat familiar with the process. The results was nice and straight, but also a long drawn out process, damaging, and also pretty costly. Because of that, I haven't bothered for the past 5 years. I have Asian hair that is thick, coarse, frizzy, and wavy. To make it worse, I have big waves mixed with tiny waves. This makes my hair quite confused and also very unmanageable and I've used many products over the years to try and tame it. I've kept it long for years, usually around middle of my back down to my waist. Some days I straighten it and other days, I just put in lots of products to weigh it down. Recently, I got a new haircut with side bangs and lots of layers down to the middle of my back. While I received lots of compliments with this haircut, I also had to take a lot of extra time to style it. Since it was so time consuming, I decided to get my hair permanently straightened again. I did a bit of research and decided to do it at home and with this product.

Salon versus do it yourself at home:

I've read some reviews here where professionals say to leave it to the professionals as we commoners don't know what we are doing and can mess up horribly. While this is true and some have ended up with damaging results, I think knowledge is key. Some have ended up with horrible results despite going to a professional (either over processed it or didn't take precautions for single or double processed hair or hair is too weak and fine for this product). Also, I think it is fair to say that salons also have to run a business and have to be very efficient. They need to balance out how to make you happy and efficiently run a business. You have to live with your hair so you care more about your hair than anyone else. When I'm at a salon, it usually takes 4-5 hours to get my hair straightened. Part of it is also because it takes a few people to do my hair and also because everyone goes off to tend to other clients while my hair was being processed so sometimes I end up with over processed hair because of that. So again, educate yourself so you have a better idea of what you are doing. If you have done this before or have seen it done before, this will help you a lot. Do your research prior to putting this product in your hair. Some people mentioned YouTube as well so go watch a few videos. You can research the process more beyond what is in the instructions. Also, I think it is better to not leave the product in long enough than to over process it and create a lot more damage. Do what's best for you.

The process:

The product came in a box with 2 tubs. #1 is to retexture your hair and #2 is to neutralize it. I have hair that is dyed a lighter color. The instructions had recommended putting in hair products to protect it. The list included IonFixx and IonTherapy for those with single process hair. I didn't purchase neither one prior to ordering this product as I didn't realize I needed it until I read the actual instructions. You would also need clarifying shampoo to take out all the product build up that is in your hair. Also, you would need gloves, applicator to apply the product, clips, straightener, and flat iron.

I decided to use a apple cider vinegar rinse prior to washing my hair with regular shampoo to get rid of the product buildup. Then I proceed with putting in the product. Now, I really don't recommend this product for fine hair as this product is quite strong and if you don't have coarse, thick, and resistant hair, you run the risk of greatly damaging your hair and not getting the results that you want. I took a wooden stick applicator used for applying wax and used it to take the product of the tub. The product is very thick and quite easy to apply. I started putting the product on the most coarse parts of my hair (top and back) first and then the rest of my hair. The whole process took me about 25-30 minutes and I then tested it to see if it is ready by taking a piece of my hair and slowly pulling on it. If it starts to slowly stretch and not snap, wash it out immediately. My hair was starting to stretch as I was pulling on it so I then went to wash it out. Next, you would need to blow dry and straighten your hair. I took about an hour here as it is very important to get your hair straight. The recommended time is 30 minutes but my previous straightening experience has taught me to take time and straighten it well and as close to the roots as possible or you might get this weird bit of coarse hair close to your scalp. Next, I proceeded on to apply #2 (neutralizer). Here is where you have to be careful. You do not want to exceed the 7 minutes. I read the reviews to comb it while the neutralizer is in your hair. I did not comb my hair. From what I've noticed in the past while going through the Japanese straightening process, combing my hair while the neutralizer is in actually causes a lot of breakage to my hair. Just make sure you are applying this product evenly. While applying, I did make a mistake and had lost track of time and may have left it on longer than the 7 minutes. I quickly applied it and waited a few minutes and then proceeded to rinse it out. I think this part may have damaged my hair. I rinsed for 15-20 minutes in the shower. Do not shampoo. Afterwards, you would need to dry and style. This whole process from beginning to end took me about 3 hours. Do not clip or tie up your hair as it will leave dents in your hair. Wait 72 hours prior to shampooing for best results. This product left my hair a lot straighter and saves me a lot of time as

The results:

I can now wash my hair and get out the door or smooth it out with a flat iron. It is not stick straight as I actually don't like that look but it looks straight enough with a bit of volume. This product has brought down my styling time to 5-10 minutes from the original 60 minutes. I did find a few split ends and hair that may have been over processed but nothing as damaging as my previous Japanese straightening process at the salon. I still have more than half of product left in each tub for future touch ups and stored it in a dark dry place. Great price for the amount of product you get. Next time, I will make sure to keep better track of time as I think the damage came from the neutralizer and I may have left it on longer than needed. This is my personal experience and I do recommend this product for those with similar hair types. Again, do your research prior to use.

I bought this hair dryer about 1 year ago, and I absolutely love it. I have very fine hair which tends to look like dry straw if I use a dryer without the ionic feature. I also have a problem, especially in the winter when the air is dry, of flyaway electric hair. Ever since I started using this conair dryer, my hair has stopped being electric, it takes less than 5 minutes to dry my hair, and the result is shiny, bouncy healthy looking hair. I also like the fact that the heat and the air flow are independently adjustable, so I can have it on full blast with medium heat for my hair, and then reduce the heat, but keep the airflow full when I do my kids hair. The handle folds, so it doesn't take up too much space, and it only weighs 20oz. It has ions, ceramic technology, turbo, 16 heat and flow settings for a full sized dryer, I couldn't wish for anything more...

This is an OUTSTANDING hair dryer. What's not to like?

My wife, who uses two different hair dryers to get the results she wants, is very picky. And one of hers broke, and she gave me a long list of what a replacement had to do. It had to have HOT hot, but adjustable down to cool. Cold shot would be good. It had to BLOW, not just a little. But it had to have gentle setting too. And when all was done, it had to leave her hair soft and silky, but not limp or frizzed. And it has to not be heavy or cumbersome, but it has to last. What is a husband to do? Why is it my job to find the perfect hair dryer? But I did. This one.

This hair dryer does it all. It is quiet but has powerful airflow, but adjusts down to soft zephyr. It has adjustable heat settings from really hot to warm to cool -and cold shot button for good measure. This Ion Shine thing seems to be more than a gimmick, she really likes how it leaves her hair. I tried it too, works for me also. And the handle folds against the body for compact storage. And the back pops open to clean the air filter grid. It is not too heavy, and not fragile either. Solid construction, good looks, should last a long time. Like I said, what's not to like.

Well, the end of the story is that this is now her ONLY hairdryer, and I'm a hero. :)

What's not to like? Why buy anything else? This has it all. It's a winner.

This item is apparently no longer be available on Amazon, however I will give my opinion just in case. Compared to my previous hair dryer--which lasted 18 years (!), this one is very quiet. The controls are straight forward, and the dryer works very well. The plastic out of which it is made appears fragile, but that is just an impression. The fold-down handle is a nice feature for travel or storage in a small drawer. I have no complaints, and therefore recommend this product highly.

Honest reviews on Conair 173X Ion Shine Ceramic Turbo 1875-Watt Hair Dryer

Bought this recently for a relative and used it a few times myself.

It is the best hairdryer I've ever used. That may not be saying too much because admittedly I'm not big into hairstyling, but I've had to buy several new hair dryers (different brands) in the past year for various reasons, and this one was far and away much better than those.

After using it, my hair had no frizz, curled in the direction I wanted it to (by drying it with a round brush) -which never happens with other hairdryers, and it stayed the way I wanted it to all day without the use of styling products.

I don't know if that's down to the ionic part, the ceramic part, or what. I've tried dryers with the ionic feature alone, with the ceramic feature alone, and with both features together before, but they haven't had the results that this one does.

The range of heat settings and airflow settings is great. My hair doesn't do well with dryers that only have high & low, hot & cold. I need medium heat, medium air. This dryer's medium settings are just right. The cold shot is good too.

On the negative side, it's a bit heavy and it's a bit long in the nozzle for me, so that my arm finds it difficult to reach over and dry my hair on the other side of my head without hitting my scalp with it. But most dryers above the purely budget category are this heavy and this big, if not moreso.

I just wish that this brand were sold in the country I currently live in, but it is not (and it's not dual-voltage).

Don't let it put you off that this model is several years old now and isn't in the "hairdryer" bestselling list on Amazon.

This hair dryer isn't top of the line but it is good for what you're paying. My hair dries much more quickly and with less frizz than my old hair dryer, which is great because frizz is a definite problem with me. My hair looks more shiny and beautiful when I use this compared to letting it airdry. It folds up, which is nice, and its lint guard just flips back and is easy to clean. The concentrator attachment it comes with works well for straightening my stubbornly wavy hair.

Just don't forget the turbo setting on the side of the dryer! I almost didn't know it existed until I checked the directions for advice on using the attachment.
