Whoever designed this hairdryer doesn't use one. The switches for heat and hi/low are on the BACK of the handle so I constantly have to shift the dryer in my hand to change the settings as I dry my hair. Ridiculous. The irritating thing is, my sister has a Conair that I love, but the model is unavailable now.

This dryer does as it says. Its a really good quality affordable dryer. I love it, its also very sturdy and good looking. The performance is amazing.
