I have really thick coarse hair and I have been using cheap Conair hair straightners and other types of straighteners but nothing would give me that salon straight look that I wanted. They would just leave my hair fried dry and wavy not straight at all. I was considering the Chi because of great reviews but then I come upon the Amika which also had great reviews. I decided to purchase the Amika instead because it has 100% ceramic plates instead of coated ones like the Chi and others. I love my new Amika straightener I use it everyday and I never had hair smooth and striaght like this before and is more softer. I also use the clip free curler and mini iron for my bangs and touch ups. The trio Amika set is like having a salon at home. I REALLY RECOMMEND THE AMIKA to anyone with thick coarse african american hair who always had trouble of getting straight hair.

Shipping was great got here in two days! The product is fabulous, a great buy. Small crack, but it must be a manufacture's defect. For the price, I would suggest it to anyone.
