I have been searching for a diffuser like this for YEARS! I have an old Vidal Sassoon diffuser from when I was in HS and there is only so much duct tape can do to hold it together! All other diffusers I have purchased let too much air come thru. The size is exactly the same as my one from the 80's! The plastic is a bit harder, but I love the diffuser! I may actually buy a few more for "backups". Diffusers help tame my natural curly locks!

this diffuser gets so hot that it actually blew out my $150 hair dryer and I was left with wet hair although I diffused off and on for about 45 min. would not recommend it as it also burnt my hair due to the heat

I broke a similar diffuser a couple years back and have been using a different style diffuser that came with a blow dryer I purchased. I've only been occasionally using the one that came with the dryer since it does a pretty lousy job. I finally got around to hunting for one like my old one on Amazon and this one looked almost identical. It fit over my old dryer with no problem and the indentation is nice and deep with long fingers and my hair fell into it easily. It does an awesome job defining my curls without adding any frizz. I have long, naturally curly hair that has thinned some over the years. After using this diffuser, my curls look great and my hair looks thick. It still looked great the next day after having slept on it all night. I really wish I had gotten this sooner. Great product!
