We have a 5X mirror that we wanted to replace with this 8X version, but this seems more like 3X not strong enough. Magnification doesn't seem to be consistent across manufacturers. I guess we need to keep looking.
The unit seems well constructed and nice enough otherwise. We especially liked the slim profile of the LED version.
