I had such great expectations for this unit after reading the description. And it would be great if the unit I received lived up to the claims made for this product. But it was not to be.

First of allIt states that once the unit heats up "a steam-on-demand trigger with a continuous-steam locking switch.."therein lies the problem with at least what I received.

First-it's far from a "continuous-stream of steam that is producedit sputters,and then may have a burst of steam, then sputters again. I tested the temp of the steam during several bursts of steamit variesanywhere from 90 degrees to 140 degrees. Anything over 110 degrees-if remains constant while steamingis good for killing most germs. Being that this was inconsistenthard to believe the product description-

"Using pure and natural penetrating steam, the unit removes stubborn stains, dirt, and grime from sinks and tubs; sanitizes floors; reduces smoke and other odors from drapes and upholsteries; reduces allergens such as dust mites and pet dander; and saves money on cleaning supplies--no more harsh cleaners or protective rubber gloves needed." HA! Not the unit I received.

The other problem noted quick fast-is that "on-demand" triggerit sticksmaking it very tricky to shut off, considering if your one hand is being used to wipe or scrub down the area you are cleaning, you have to drop that and fumble around with this trigger to get it finally to go off. Poor design.

Of the few areas that I attempted to clean-and none that really impressed meand this is just a guess is that the problem lies with an inconsistent temp for the steamas you really have to do a lot of scrubbing on your own to lift even the easiest of grime areas from the tub

This is not a unit that I would say would make me throw out my current, unfortunately, chemical cleaners, of which I would be so happy to do -some day.

Needless to saythis product is in the process of being returned.

Purchased the Steam Fast to use on my 22 year old tiled kitchen floor. The grout went from cream color to a dark brown after the 22 years. No matter what I used to wash the floor, the grout just wouldn't clean up. I purchased the steam fast and used the hose with the scrubber. It took some time (not hard though), and the grout now looks like it did 22 years ago! It looks like a brand new floor. I also have a stand up steamer which is great just to wash the floors, but it wouldn't be able to clean the grout like the steam fast. My husband will be using it on the cars to clean the wheels.

i purchased this once returning home after my long 8 month deployment. i purchased in hopes to go a good hard cleaning of the house being shutup for so long. it worked GREAT. so long as you dont put in to much watter it will steam HOT for a good 30 minutes at least. i say at least because after 30 mintes i would have to take a dreak from the heat it was putting off. very portable and light weight which is great for taking it up and down my wodden steps as i cleaned then and my wooden floors and everything else i would think of.

also used it on my vehicle tires to get all that dirt and grees off of them then washed let dry and put on some tire protectant and if i didnt know better i would think i had mirrors instead of tires on my vehicle.
