I ordered this product a couple months ago, and it worked as advertised for the first month or so. I used it about once a week after receiving it. Then the medium heat setting, which i used most often, started to failthe cap will no longer heat unless it is set to the highest setting. I emailed the manufacturer, Mastex, about it twice, and they did not respond. their website contains no info whatsoever on their warranty policy.

It turns out the only real way to reach the company (mastex/thermal spa) is by calling directly. Here is the information i gathered:

the warranty period is one (1) year

process: you send them the malfunctioning product. YOU pay the shipping cost, which is not reimbursed. The product itself is not repairable, so if it is broken they send you a new one.

The entire back side including the nape doesn't heat up which make this cap practically useless for me. It does have really long sideburns that heat up quite hot so you can really get deep conditioned sideburns if you're Sly Stone or just burnt ears if you're me.

It is great to use with hair treatments. The different heat settings works great. The only bad thing is that the back part does not heat up, so you have to put your hair at the top. Still works great!

I've been looking for something like this for my awful, fried, dead hair (haha). It works pretty well by heating up the cap so the deep conditioner can get into the strands of hair.

The only problem I had was as someone else mentioned, it really only heats at the top of the cap, so you would have to pull your hair to the top. I was under the impression that the whole cap would heat all around. Also, because the cap is some sort of plastic material, the edge (of the cap) does hurt my neck by stabbing into my skin. I have to adjust the cap a lot or wear a protection around my neck.

The cap does need to be plugged into an electrical outlet so you do have to sit down or stay around an area while it's plugged in. It is pretty long, but I wouldn't mind it to be just a little longer.

I'm glad I bought this item & if it does happen to die eventually, I probably will purchase another one. The only thing I wish was that the whole cap heated...I know there are wires inside of it...but you get what I'm saying.
